Movies Cover Flow Artwork Doesn't Show

Since upgrading to v10.6.1 my movies artwork does not show in cover flow nor on my ATVs. When new movies are added the artwork shows for a few days then disappears. Using Get Info shows the artwork is present in the file, closing the by closing the Get Info window the artwork then reappears in iTunes + ATVs - almost as if some kind if refresh is needed. Anybody else experiencing this problem if so have you found a solution?

Thanks for posting great information about track artwork & poster frames. In addition to being visually appealing, creating track artwork can have educational benefits. Some institutions place an image of the speaker as the track artwork, see:

You are correct in your first post when you say you were able to replace the poster frame (or empty artwork) with specific artwork that you have designed to represent the content using the Get Info panel in iTunes. You are also correct when you specify this needs to be done prior to uploading your content to iTunes U.
Have you checked the Track Preferences within your iTunes U site? There you will find the option to "Override with Course Page image" if this is set, then it's the reason you are not able to see the artwork that you have just uploaded. A better preference is "If empty, use course page image." When this is set your specific track artwork will be used but in instance where none is present, iTunes U will use the course page image.

No Cover Flow artwork

I'm experiencing a very strange issue. I've added new indie songs from mp3 blogs to my playlist and these songs usually include the album artwork as part of the mp3 file. So when you add the song to iTunes then album artwork automatically displays. The issue is that ever since upgrading to 7.7, while in Cover Flow mode the album art reverts to a previous album by the same artist and does not display the new art, but you can still see the new album art in viewer on the bottom left.
Any suggestions?

I have pretty much the same problem. I was able to change the album artwork in "Get Info". The correct art shows in the "Now Playing Window", but the Cover Flow artwork wont change. I've been successful in changing the Cover Flow artwork using the "Get Info" change method in the past, but this is the first time I've tried it since the latest iTunes update...maybe there's a bug needs squashing.

Artwork doesn't show with version 5.0.1

I updated my ipod with the iOS 5.0.1. The album artwork doesn't show even if they all appears in Itune. Any idea to resolve this problem?

I just ran into the same problem with an iPhone 4S: contact names and photos stopped showing up on incoming calls or in the recent/missed calls list. I took my phone to the Genius Bar and they ran a diagnostic to confirm there was nothing wrong with the phone hardware. Their suggestion, which worked:
Update iTunes to the latest version.
Sync your phone with your computer via iTunes. Make sure that the sync options are selected under each tab (Sync Contacts, Sync Apps, Sync Music, Sync Videos, etc..) so everything is backed up onto the computer.
In iTunes, select the Summary tab for the phone and click on Restore to wipe out the software and restore it.
When the system asks, restore as a new phone (instead of restoring from backup)
Once it's done, walk through the initial phone setup and re-sync your phone to get all of your contacts, apps, music, etc.
The explanation I got was that something in the software got corrupted and if I restored from a backup, the corruption would still be there, so I needed to restore it as a new phone and re-sync my data on to it. Bottom line is it worked, and I hope this saves some time and a trip to the Apple Store for you or anyone else that might run into this issue.

Album Artwork doesn't show up in vertical mode but does in Coverflow

I have an iPod Touch 4g and im running the newest version of iOS, 4.3.3, and the newest version of iTunes. Also running OS X Lion 10.7. The album artwork doesn't show up in vertical mode but does in Coverflow. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Did you already try to activate the artwork visualization in iPod?

Make sure that you have "Include Album Artwork" checked under the Music tab screen that you can access when you plug your iPod in. See if that helps.

I downloaded iTunes 7. Now, when I open the Get Info window and go to the artwork tab, the artwork doesn't show up, even though I can see it in the regular iTunes window! Help? Anyone?

iTunes 7 does some stupid things with the artwork. The artwork tab in Get Info is the artwork that is contained inside the music file. iTunes 7 also downloads artwork for songs but then it doesn't store it inside the song file -- it just puts in in a folder on the computer.

Also in the first page of Get Info for all tracks set the Album Artist to be Various Artists.
If you select all the tracks and right click to get info then you can do all the tracks in one go

Cover Flow in Finder (Not Showing Photo)

Hello,
In my Finder window, it is no longer showing the actual photo in the "cover flow". I can still press spacebar and it will preview the photo for me, however, when I'm using cover flow to browse through photos, documents, pdf's, it no longer shows the actual image...it just shows a picture of a "creased page".
How do I fix this?

Cover Flow Artwork

I posted this on installing and updating iTunes, but maybe thats not the best place for it. So i'll try it here.
So I updated to 7.3 everything went fine. But after opening it I see that my "local" artwork "the artwork I added myself" was no longer showing up in cover flow. But the artwork that is downloaded by iTunes does. Also the artwork that I added shows up in the mini artwork thing... Apple + G just not in cover flow..
So I thought I would just start over, trashed all of iTunes prefs the iTunes music folder. Started adding all of my music back with new playlists but its doing the same thing.

Movie purchased on iTunes doesn't show up on Apple TV. Any ideas why?

I just paid to rent a movie from iTunes on my Macbook. Switched on AppleTV to sit and watch it, and it doesn't show up in my Purchased area in movies.
Tried turning "home sharing" off, then back on again to reset it.
Tried logging out of my account, into my wife's, then back to mine hoping that would 'refresh' it.
Still nothing.
Am I doing something wrong.
P.S. The reason I didn't rent it thru AppleTV is that it was trying to charge it to my credit card, yet I have credit in my iTunes account and want to use that instead (hence why I did it thru iTunes on my macbook instead)

You rented the movie, you didn't purchase it.
Assuming you have now let it fully download to your computer, look under the computers section on the Apple TV.

Artwork Doesn't Show on all Listings

When I download the "artwork", I get less than 1/2 of my selections. I'm trying to find out why I don't have artwork for all the albums like they show in the tutorial.
I know this artwork is available...for example, I can't find any album covers for any Beatles..."Abby Road", etc. I'm sure that artwork is available.
Is it because I didn't purchase this music from ITunes Store?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I've found that artwork often doesn't show up until I actually play a song, and then it sometimes takes up to ~30 seconds. Once it's there, it sticks.

Cover Flow Artwork for Albums is Dysfunctional

Artwork on Cover Flow view displays as a jumbled plaid-like distorted picture. I tried reinstalling and repairing, but that has not solved the issue. Anyone know of a fix for this? Running on Windows XP.

I've had this problem for a while now & finally figured out is was a problem with a driver, that I'd updated.
My graphics are controlled by an SiS Mirage Graphics chipset and when I update the driver it screws up cover view. I rolled back the driver and that fixed it.
Driver that works okay is 6.14.10.3830.

Movie purchased on iPad doesn't show up in iTunes

Hello,
I purchased a movie from the iTunes Store using my iPad2. I'm trying to find it in my iTunes on my PC, but it's not there. I recently changed operating systems from Windows Vista to Windows 7, and I'm still muddling thru synching up my music and playlists (any help on that would be appreciated, too!).
My iPhone 4 can see the movie, but there isn't enough room on the phone to sync the movie to it.
I'd like to have the purchased movie on all three devices. My iPhone and iPad2 seem to know I purchased the movie, but my iTunes doesn't. How can I make iTunes see the movie?

Your post doesn't make much sense really. Where did you get the songs from?
If you purchased them from the iTunes Store, then the artwork should have come with the song when you downloaded it.
But since you have not specifically stated that you have purchased from the Store, my question is have you downloaded songs from a different store or from yet another source? If so, did that source undertake to provide artwork?
Have you imported these songs from your own CDs?
MP3 files from other sources, such as (legally obtained) downloads from artist websites etc. do not always have artwork imbedded in them.
Amazon MP3 songs do have the artwork embedded. I assume other MP3 stores also provide the artwork. But then, assumptions are not always correct.
Songs that you import from your CDs do not have the artwork embedded in the CD version. The artwork is obtained for you by iTunes - if you have the setting turned on (see in iTunes, Edit/Preferences/General>>When you import a CD>>automatically download missing artwork) In this situation, if artwork is not supplied, it may be because iTunes doesn't have (legal) access to that artwork. In other words, they don't sell the album, so are unable to supply the artwork. In that case, a simple Google of the album should find the artwork which you can then copy into the album in iTunes.
As a last resort, I use my printer's in-built scanner to scan my CD cover and then paste that into the album's artwork box.
If I haven't answered your question, it's because you haven't supplied enough information.
