Movies disappearing from AppleTV when iTunes not running

I have synced my iTunes content to my AppleTV several times and have found that I continue to experience jerky playback of movies (AppleTV will pause to buffer data) and that the movies totally disappear from my AppleTV menu when I shut down iTunes. I believe that the movies files have been copied to AppleTV (ie I am not streaming the files). When I restart iTunes, it appears to need to re-sync only the movies with my AppleTV (music, Podcasts, and photos remain available on AppleTV while iTunes is not running). Please advise 1. why the poor flow when movie is playing on AppleTV and 2. why does it seem to need to keep re-syncing movies to the AppleTV?

iTunes should not have to re-sync your purchased movies if they transferred over correctly,
You might want to try restarting the Apple TV, or restoring it. Information on how to perform this is in knowledge base article 305190 (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305190).

I have an odd problem. I have some movies that I converted for iPod using iSquint. They play fine in iTunes and will play fine on iPod when dragged to my iPod manually. However, as soon as I change to automatic syncing the movies disappear upon the first sync. Any ideas?

Figured it all out. Somehow my video sync settings were reset in iPod preferences. Set it to sync all videos and voila - all of them converted using iSquint worked like a charm. The new instant handbrake works well too. And as a side note - movies look just fine on my tv via iPod! I'm very pleased.

Screensaver not starting when iTunes is running. Works otherwise...

Hi everyone,
My screensaver will not start when iTunes is running (also Spotify). When the app is closed, the screensaver starts when it's supposed to (5 min. in my case, but have tried other time limits). I've tried changing mouse settings and even shutting it off to see if that's the cause but it didn't help. I use the MacMini as a home theater computer hooked up to my plasma so I need the screensaver to work. In the meantime, I've been using hot corners to force screensaver, but I would love for it to start automatically when music is playing. I've tried rebooting, resetting, but to no avail.
Has anyone else had this issue or know what the problem is?
I'm running MacMini brand new. Mavericks 10.9.1. Latest iTunes.

I don't normally use the screensaver. However when I tested it, I get the same results while iTunes is running.

iTunes includes an option to transfer content that was purchased from the iTunes Store from an iPod or iPhone, but this is for content that was purchased from the iTunes Store only.
With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
This is one of the reasons why maintaining a backup of all your important data (including your iTunes library) stored on an external drive used for backup purposes only, or on other media such as CD or DVD is so important.

Movies disappearing from itunes store?

I recently went to the iTunes Store to rent the movies 2001: A Space Odyssey and Sunshine only to notice that these two movies have completely disappeared from the US iTunes store. Sunshine is still available in other countries, such as Canada, though. Is there any way to find out what happened to these movies?

I have also noticed several movies no longer being available. In addition, several movies that were available for rent, primarily Pixar movies, are now only available for purchase -- which means no HD access.
However, I noticed that the same movies that are having a state change are having the same state change at Amazon's video-on-demand. So, the problem is with the movie companies. I'm surprised, though, at Pixar movies being so restricted.

Using JFXPanel with a WebView under JavaFX 2.1 and Java 1.6.0_29. Application works fine most of the time.
I believe the problem is that we have to move application panels around inside our application and I believe this is sometimes causing the JavaFX platform to believe it is shutting down when it shouldn't.

Trying to move songs from 360share to iTunes

When trying to move songs from 360share to iTunes, we receive an error that says the file does not seem to be a valid podcast url. Anyone know what this means and how do I fix it?

First, I temporarily stopped bitlocker, then proceeded to reset the TPM wit TPM.msc. The procedure worked, but the TPM is now no longer accessible. If I go to the UEFI, it does not appear.I had the same issiue when I was running Windows 8.1, and running Vaio Care fixed the problem. Now, Vaio Care crashes on Windows 10. Would anyone have an idea on how I could reinstate the TPM? I am happy to do a fresh install on the machine if need be, but would need some pointer whether this is going to fix the problem.Thanks much!Pierre

I tried to search for a resolution on you issue but I just got an article on how to enable enable the Trusted Platform Module (TPM). Since TPM is not accessible anymore, what we suggest is to format the unit back to its original factory settings.

Attempted to download a movie and movie disappears from library.

Attempted to download a movie, looks complete, but unable to sync to iPod... restart iTunes and movie disappears from library. No files in media folder and iTunes store thinks that it has been downloaded already. Worked with iTunes account people who were very responsive, but after multiple resends on their side, the problem continues and they suggest a local problem on my side. Thoughts?

Turn off alarms when Ical not running! Bring it back

It seems that the option to turn off alarms when Ical not running has been removed. The only option now is to simply turn alarms off (then you forget to turn it back on!). i am a professional speaker and when an alarm rings when I'm using Keynote it knocks keynote off the screen. That is a real pain when you are speaking to 1000 people! Anyone got any ideas. And Apple, please bring it back.

I sure hope the developers at Apple as well as the management team who can make product impacting decisions are reading this thread - do they realize that this makes the *alarm function unusable by professionals* who do presentations? I was in front of a small group doing a powerpoint tonight and the alarm went off in the middle of it - not a good thing.
So, I will choose to turn them off completely at this point - it is the only option. And I am not going to manually turn them on and off - that's a ridiculous prospect.
I can only guess at the reason for removing the earlier functionality of turning off the alarms when the application was closed, but this is absolutely a requirement if alarms are to be functional at all for those of us who do presentations.
