Movies for 60GB iPod

How do I download movies from other countries? The Australian iTunes store doesn't have movies... Thanks!

I have purchased and downloaded movies from www.buyimovies.com . The site does not always work- sometimes it does not accept payments, or the link for the download page does not work, ect. They also send you e-mails for the download, and at first mine were all blocked as spam, so not recieved. However, if you go back later, or the next day, then things are fine. Most of the time it works really well. You just have to have a little patience. They always e-mail back the next day and have made good on all my purchases. They use paypal( even if you don't have it), so they do not get your cc info. Their movies download and transfer to the library and then the ipod as easy as can be. Over all, I think they are worth it.

  • Search feature to be made available for 60GB iPod?

I bought an iPod a few days ago. Typical - then they bring out a better version! Oh well. Will the new search feature be made available as an update to the 60GB iPod?

The letters appearing while scrolling feature is new but that's not the search option that's been advertised. You can see the search feature here: iPod (late 2006) features

  • Help with converting WMV files to quicktime movies for video ipod.

Is there a way to convert my movies that play with the windows media player to a movie file that Quicktime Pro can use to export to my video ipod?
I am running windows xp, can anyone help??

File size is dicated by the bitrate of the file. From my review of (thousands) of WMV files there appears to be some compression in the WMV format that is not reapplied when save as to a MOV container is performed. You can see in get info the WMV file say 100MB has maybe 125-150MB of data when it is fully loaded in Quicktime.
Thus save as does not apply the WMV compression the same as native WMV is all I can assume and the new QT file (MOV container) is bigger than the source file is.
Exporting to any new QT format (say H264) is going to make a file that is dependent on the new QT bitrate you select but if it is higher than the bitrate shown in the Get Info Inspector box when the original WMV has been opened it will be bigger without a doubt. So if you have a 3Mb/sec WMV file that you export to 700 kb/sec for iPod basic it should be 1/4 of the size. Use 5Mb/sec fo Apple TV it should be 2/3 larger.
I rarely use QT Pro to export and when I do I don't use default settings. I prefer MPEG Streamclip which offers easier control of variables, batch file processing, deinterlacing and other things and it is free.

  • Anyone know of a compact flash reader for 60gb ipod?

i have a nikon d2x and the camera connector downloads fine, but i want to download images to my ipod so i can continue shooting and was hoping there is a media reader available?

If you mean a real barcode scanner, any USB scanner should work as it appears to the computer simply as a keyboard.
I use Checkout.app, see their list of OS X compatible scanners and receipt printers:

  • Converting Movies for iPod: No Sound

Whenever I convert a movie for my iPod, there is no sound in the converted file. The original movie has sound, but it is in a form that you can't put on iPod.
By the way, I am using the Convert Selection for iPod/iPhone under the Advanced menu.
    Any ideas??

Try using MPEG Streamclip to convert the videos; more information on this issue is available in this article.

    Dear All
Apologies to all if this is an easy question and I am clogging up the forum, but I cant seem to find help anywhere for this scenario!
I have 75Gb in Itunes on an old Win XP Pro PC, and want to move it to my new Win XP Pro PC. However, I only have a 60gb Ipod. How do I move it(other than spending the next 2 weeks burining it to discs!!)?
Thanks for your help and patience in advance!
    Regards
    Chris

There are a few things you could do, networking the two computers is probably the most straightforward. Have a look at this User Tip: Migrating iTunes for Windows to a new PC
If you can network the computers there is also this one: Copying songs over a network to use with iTunes for Windows

  • Bought 60GB ipod for kids...how to download dvd..I am lost...what 2 do?

Hello, I just bought a 60gb ipod, I am totally lost as to what I need to do to download dvd movies onto the ipod.
I have worked out I need to convert it, but I am unsure of which is the best software to use...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

First of all, welcome to the forum. Second, your post is in the wrong place. This particular section is for the software known as Compressor. All that aside, take a look at this website.

Keep in mind that ripping DVDs for any other purpose than YOUR personal home viewing is illegal (at least here in the States).

  • Availability of movies for ipod video in uk?

Help! I am so confused - I've had a mini for a few years now and have been bought a video for xmas and I am trying to work out if it is possible to download movies on to the new ipod (30gb). ITunes won't let me - only if a US member - is there anywhere else i can get movies from for this ipod or am i destined to a life with just music???
    THanks for your help!
    Mutley76

I'm not entirely certain, but I think the idea was that even if you couldn't download movies from iTunes, you could still 'back up' (wink wink) your DVDs and such onto the iPod.
And if an Australian user can download music videos, an English one probably can too. That is what the video feature was mainly meant for anyways.
    Hope this helps.

  • HELP!!! Itunes recognizes only 22gb available for a 60gb ipod.

I have a 4th generation 60gb ipod and a week ago all of my music was erased and I could do nothing to remove the folder/exclamation mark icon from my ipod. It was stuck in disk mode for a week and yesterday it finally started working. I unistalled all apple products from my computer and reinstalled itunes. When I connected my ipod to the computer it was recognized in itunes and started to add my music library, but then it said I didn't have sufficient space. I restored the ipod to factory settings 4 times and in my ipod summary it says I have a 22gb ipod???? How do I make it recognize my 60gb ipod??? PLEASE HELP.

I restored the ipod to factory settings 4 times and in my ipod summary it says I have a 22gb ipod????
do you have any other drives attached to your system that have a 22 GB capacity, danni?
if so, try checking on the possibility from this document:
Windows confuses iPod with network drive or hard drive and may keep iPod from mounting or songs may seem to disappear

  • Convert Movie for iPod

From a DV tape, I used iMovie HD6 to develop a movie for my grandson. One output would be a file for his iPod. In doing this from HD6, the result was 320x240 and not 640x360 as with iMovie 08 and 09. Any thoughts on how to make a iPod compatible movie that is 640x360?

Best way to do this is to use "Expert Settings" in the "Share" menu, then change the size accordingly, this could have an adverse effect depending on the aspect ratio of the original video

  • Best and safest place to buy movies for iPod

Recommendation on the best and safest place to buy movies for iPod. iTunes Store has limited supply and does not carry some of those I like. Thanks!

    Because of the multiple problems:
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for 64 GB 4G and $99 for the other 4Gs. They do not fix yours.

  • Movies for ipod

I have a movie in itunes on my imac i wanted to put on my ipod touch. I encoded the movie for apple tv originally. I tries to just sync the movie to my ipod touch but itunes told me it could not be played on the touch. I am converting the movie over for ipod using itunes but it seems to take for ever. Is this normal and should i have had to convert the movie for ipod in the first place?

appletv support 1280 by 720 pixels at 24 fps
    ipod tough is 640-by-480
if you convert to ipod in the first place it will not look very good on your appletv
