Movies freeze while using Apple TV

Every time we rent a movie using our Apple TV the movie never makes it all the way thru without freezing up

after the lion upgrade my mac mini is doing the same thing. it's not in true "sleep mode" but my display is set to sleep, and when using my apple tv it keeps waking the display. i, too, have my machine set to ask for password upon wake, so the log in box appears, then disappears after a few minutes, the monitor goes to sleep then seconds later re-wakes and the log in box re-appears. and it continues to repeat this cycle the entire time i am using my apple tv

Lightroom 4 and 5 my program constantly freezes while using the crop and straighten tool

In both Lightroom 4 and 5 my program constantly freezes while using the crop and straighten tool with horizontal images. Im running Lightroom on a Quad-Core Intel Xeon Mac with 32 GB of memory with OS 10.8.4, this problem has gotten worse and worse to the point where the crop tool is unusable. Please help!

no replies so far! Anyways, here's some more information which is leading me to the conclusion that the bug causing the effect described above is a combination of Apple's SMB implementation of Mavericks and the way Lightroom is actually using SMB network access:
I did another trial by connecting a USB hard drive to the USB port of my router (Netgear). The connection is quite slow, but moving one of the folders in question (see my 1st post above) to the shared drive connected to the Router made Lightroom on my Windows machine to see the photos again, when I told Lightroom where to find the moved folder!
Everything was working as expected, on the Windows machine again! Moving the folder back again to the Mac Mini fileshare was causing Lightroom on the PC to get blind again for the pictures trying to sync or import. However, accessing and modifying a photo was possible again, like it was before the trial. So it's only the sync and import function having a problem!
I also did some trial in re-building ACLs and access rights on the file server with no luck. So there's got to be a functionality in sync and import of Lightroom which is using a certain SMB feature which is not supported by Apple's SMB implementation!

Could be related to interference. Check istumbler or netstumbler to verify. If on wifi try ethernet.

Used to zoom computer screen while using apple tv, since update, my screen is mirrored, but zooming doesn't show up

I used to be able to zoom in and out on my computer screen while using apple tv. For example, zoom in on a certain URL or ribbon. Since the update, my screen is mirrored, but when I zoom in and out to show my Word ribbon up close, etc., the zooming doesn't show up. My zoom preferences are set on computer.

You might try restarting your device, your router and your Apple TV.

Freezes while using salesforce

I was using Firefox on my work laptop until it started freezing while using salesforce.com. It seems to have started around the time v13 came out but i can't say for certain. I've attempted to remedy it by disabling all plugins but that did not help.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
1. Clear Firefox's Cache
Firefox menu > Preferences > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Offline Storage : "Clear Now"
2. If needed, delete the site's cookies here (this will log you out)
Tools menu > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page and logging in again. Does that help?

I don't believe I've seen a solution to that error code. There's a new version of iTunes out, have you installed it yet, it might be worth trying. You might also try restarting your Apple TV and router.

My movies freeze while watching

Hello, the last two movies that I purchased on Apple TV continue to freeze while you watch it. You have to wait several minutes for it to continue playing but as soon as is starts it will freeze again, what can I do?

Recently, my computer has been frequently freezing while playing back video on Final Cut Express 4.0.1. This has been going on for probably 2 weeks now (and today, it happened twice in 30 minutes). I am playing video (fully rendered), then the screen greys out, and any sound loops about .2 seconds of whatever was last playing.
Sometimes the computer shuts itself off and restarts (like a kernel panic), other times I have to force the computer off. Sometimes the screen has small vertical stripes when crashing/freezing.
This MAY have also happened while playing back 1080i video in QuickTime as well, but I'm not sure. I've been using 1080i videos for over 2 years, so I'm not sure what the issue is. This is why I think it's a Mac Pro problem and not a FCE problem.
I put in a new graphics card a year ago, but I haven't had any issues with it in that time.
I've included the crash report. I see "panic" in there, and this time the computer restarted itself. If anyone can help what might the issue be, I'd be very grateful.

Try removing the Soundflower driver first then restart your Mac.
If that doesn't help, remove the PaefireStudio software, restart your Mac to test.

Beyond that try a different mouse and keyboard. If that helps, remove the Microsoft drivers.

Is your iPhone storage capacity full or close to it?
Try a reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release. A reset is similar to computer restart.

IPhone 4 bought on 2010 frequently freezes while using camera or apps with adverts

Hey there guys!
I'm from Brazil and actually, this issue occurs with a friend of mine. As he doesn't speak english very well, i'm trying to help him out here... so, i'm gonna summarize the whole tale:
We're from Brazil and here an iPhone is much more expensive than in the US (40% more). His brother went to Miami and brought him an iPhone 4 stuck on the AT&T account, not fully unlocked (not sure if at the time we already had the unlocked ones).
As he got here, my friend could not use the iPhone 'cause there were no ways to do it (it was very recent) and, after a few months (3-4), he discovered an specific 'SIM Card' that could help him to use the iPhone in a brazilian carrier. At that moment, he was using iPhone only for games and as an iPod.
After that (using iOS 4.3), he used the iPhone for months. As the iOS 5 was launched, he tried to update, but then started the problems. Even using Jailbreak or not, he was not able to update the iOS to 5. He received several error messages and nothing done at the time was enough to help him. So he maintained the 4.3 iOS version.
Now, for the last 8 months he's facing several freezes, specially while using the camera and/or apps with advertising (almost all). He tried to do almost everything. Turn the Wifi on/off, 3G on/off, everything. Tried to have more than 50% of the HardDisk free, uninstalled all applications, used jailbreak, restore to the original iOS, everything.
We went to see some specialists here in Brazil, and they said that all their efforts on the Software was done, and only a deep analysis at the hardware would be the reason to fix it. They tried to restore, install, update, do anything with different iOSs, but they couldn't even finish the restore/update of the iOSs.
So his final effort was to use the 4.3.1 iOS, which is the only one that 'keeps the iPhone 4 alive'. Even with some freezes during the usage, but no way else to the updates of the latest iOSs. iTunes recognizes the iPhone, starts the update, but several errors occurs and never can be completed.
Anyone has any clues about it!? By the way, thanks for the opportunity to address and share with you our doubts and questions. I'm here to find out a way to restore this iPhone 4 and use it as a normal person.

Hey man! Thanks for the answer... actually, I’ve already tried this and still jams… Right now, I’m using the iOS 4.3.3 which is the only one that keeps my iPhone 4 ‘usable’.
This iOS 4.3.3 I use DOES NOT have Jailbreak. I have used the Jailbreak at the beginning, but not anymore. It was my only option in the beginning, to use it as a real iPhone, not an iPod.
In April ’12, I’ve got it Factory Unlocked, directly through AT&T. My baseband is already updated to the latest (04.12.01) and I can use it with any carrier in Brazil. The thing is… when I try to update to the iOS 5.1.1, it goes through all the process but at the end, during the last reboot, it gets into an infinite loop (apple symbol and spinning wheel, alternating). The worst part is that iTunes recognizes my iPhone, but as it doesn’t go through the last reboot, there’s no way to go.

Does it just look darker all the time or does the brightness change over time?
If it just looks darker, check Settings>Video and if set to RGB Low try RGB High or YCrCb.
I was watching a digital copy of final Harry Potter last night that came bundled with the Blu Ray - could not believe how dark the film was - I used to routinely use RGB Low on AppleTV1, and such settings options have only just appeared on AppleTV2. I could see hardly any shadow detail on RGB Low, much improved on RGB High.

While using apple tv with homesharing my MBP gets out of sleep on every track change

Since I upgraded to lion I experience the following:
While using my apple tv with wired connection to my MBP via homesharing for listening to music on every change of track the MBP wakes up from screensaver/screensleep with the login screen. I think this is a bug... Anybody has the same experience?

after the lion upgrade my mac mini is doing the same thing. it's not in true "sleep mode" but my display is set to sleep, and when using my apple tv it keeps waking the display. i, too, have my machine set to ask for password upon wake, so the log in box appears, then disappears after a few minutes, the monitor goes to sleep then seconds later re-wakes and the log in box re-appears. and it continues to repeat this cycle the entire time i am using my apple tv

My iPad mini keeps freezing when using Apple wireless keyboard

I recently bought an iPad with retine display, and an apple wireless keyboard. I don't know if the problem is the iPad, the keyboard, or the app I am using.
I will be typing away fine with my keyboard, however if I stop for too long, the iPad suddenly loses connection with the keyboard and completely freezes. The home button does nothing, the virtual keyboard does nothing, and holding down the power down does nothing. There is no response from the iPad at all. After a few minutes the iPad either returns to the home screen or powers off. I can use it as normal from there. The app I am using is Day One journal, and is a reputable app. I have no idea what the problem is, and I hope it isn't affecting my iPad in the long run. My keyboard is only 2 weeks old, so the batteries are hadly low. I am mainly concerned about the iPad freezing.

Start with these steps, but there are additional things to do if these do not resolve the issue:
Follow the steps below and test the app after each step.Restart the app
Close the app and open it again.Restart your device
Turn the device off and on.Update your device software and your apps
Update your device to the latest version of iOS.
Update your apps:
Open the App Store and tap Updates.
If updates are available, tap Update All.
If asked, enter your Apple ID password. The updates will download and install.
You might need a Wi-Fi connection to update some apps.

Static while using apple's iphone BT

When im using apple's BT i get a lot of static, but when i turn switch to phone mode no static. Does anybody have some suggestions?

i got the Apple bluetooth when it first came out (July of 07 I believe). I experienced static to the point of being impossible to hold a conversation. I exchanged it 3x with the same result with all three. I even got a new iphone. When I returned the 3rd one I exchanged it for the Jawbone and have had no problems at all. The funny thing is each time I returned the apple product I got a different store employee and each one told me that "this was the first time anyone has returned the product" maybe the employee was misinformed but somehow I doubt it. Anyway I checked the forums here tonight to see if the problems with the static had been resolved and obviously not. Its to bad because I really like the style of the Apple Bluetooth and how it seemlessly syncs with the iphone. As good a product the jawbone is I just feel its a little bulky for me. I will stick with it for now however since its probably the best on the market overall.
