Movies from my old pc

Hi,
I am a brand new user of Apple products and am still finding my way around stuff.
I have purchased mcbook pro + apple tv and now I have transferred the movies from my old pc to my mcbook and I am able to watch them on the mcbook. But when I connect aTV to my mcbook and try to add my old movies to the itunes library so that I can watch via aTV it only transfers 4 files out of 11 to the library and I am able to only watch these 4 through aTV.
Can someone help or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks.

  • I recently brought a new HP laptop and I downloaded the newly updated iTunes on it; however I have an old Aver laptop with iTunes version 10.7 on it or the one before iTunes 11 came out. How can I transfer my movies from the old version to the new one?

I recently brought a new HP laptop and downloaded iTunes 11 on it. My old laptop which is a Acer has iTunes version 10.7, I believe. I wanted to know, How can I transfer 18 movies from the old iTunes onto my new Itunes? It only shows the most recent two movies when I look at the purchases in my account. I had a lot of moves downloaded last year from the old version and would like some assistance on how to get all those movies into my iTunes 11 library. Thank you.

you should starting with copying the iTunes folder from your old laptop to the new one.
the iTunes folder is in your user profile Music folder.
it should go to the same location on the new laptop.
Provided that you have your media, music and movies in the default location, and you sign in to your apple ID and authorize your new computer (all in iTunes)
    you should have all intact.
    Post if any problems.

  • How to move movies from an old library?

I am consolidating two copies of my iTunes library. One copy has movies that the other does not. I am decommissioning the old library. How do I move the movies from the old library to the new library?

    iTunes prefs > Advanced.
Make sure the iTunes media folder location is set to where you want.
Tick Copy files to iTunes media folder when adding to library.
iTunes menu File > Library > Organize library > Consolidate.
This will copy any files in iTunes, which are outside of the iTunes media folder set above, to this folder.

how do i transfer a movie from my old hp desktop to a macbook pro?
On my old computer I had two movies: Fight Club and Garden State and I'd really like to watch them on my new MacBook Pro! But I dont know how to transfer them onto my new laptop help?!

Right-click them in iTunes, locate the files, move them as you would any other, and drag them into the open iTunes window on the MacBook Pro. iTunes Store rentals can only be moved through an iPod or similar device.

  • Can anyone help me find my movies from my old PC?

Can anyone help me find my movies on my MacBook Pro from my old PC? I am on Mac OS X, Lion version 10.7.5, use iPhoto, and have a  2.4 GHz Intel Core i5 processor from late 2011. I had the geniuses transfer my old hard drive to the MacBook Pro a couple of years ago and now I don't know where they ended up. They are not in iMovies since today was the first day I ever opened that App!
I have searched through Finder but I only find a few of them. I am certain they are there somewhere, however. I read another discussion and it said to go to you HOME folder in finder. But I don't see a way to do that. So I have been searching by MOV in "All my files." Unfortunately just a few of them are showing up. Any  new suggestions?

    Thanks for helping out.
Yes, I should have mentioned that before. I have been searching This Mac too. In fact, I have been trying all kinds of queries to find them, hoping that I'll happen upon the kind of file they are. I tried .mp4 and found a lot of music stuff but not the family movies I am looking for.
Maybe you are right. Maybe they were some weird Windows only kind of file and they didn't transfer to Mac. The good news is that I have them all on the PC, which is still working. I just need to figure out a place to keep them that's secure so we don't lose them...

  • Why won't my iTunes movies from my old computer transfer to iTunes on my new computer?

I purchased a new computer and had all my movies/music/apps/etc saved on an external hard drive. When I installed iTunes on my new computer and added the folder that had all the iTunes media, everything transferred except the movies. Anyone have ideas what I can do? Old system was Windows Vista, new system is Windows 7. Thanks in advance.

    Is the new computer authorized?
    Any errors?
Is there a reason why you chose to import the folder instead of simply copying the entire iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer?

  • How do i transfer paid songs and movies from an old desktop to a laptop

I just got an iPhone 4 and i'm trying to transfer all my media from iTunes on an old desktop to iTunes on a laptop using a USB memory stick. but, it wont let me transfer the songs and movies i paid for. how can i get it??????

Right-click an item other than a rented movie in iTunes, locate it, drag the entire iTunes folder or anything you want to transfer to the flash drive, move it to the other computer, drag it to the hard drive, and from there into the open iTunes application window.
Multiple runs may be needed. Rented movies can't be transferred this way.
The iPhone can also be used; sync it on the old computer, authorize the new one, and choose Transfer Purchases in iTunes. This method will transfer rented movies.

  • Making a seamless move from my old mac to my new one

After a stoic last stand with my old laptop against the assailing forces of pauses, freezes, and crashes with iTunes 7.........something. (Well they coulda been bugs but who can tell at this point.) In any case I decided to purchase a shiny new MacBook Pro after 4 yrs of blissful enjoyment and in the intrest of charity donate my old (but still very functioning) PowerBook G4 titanium to my ex-wife. Still i would like to keep my extensive collection of music to myself. Can anyone describe the process of deauthorization and transfer of accounts to my new baby?

On the old Powerbook, start up iTunes and select "deauthorize computer" from the "Store" menu.
Network the two computers together, or transfer your iTunes folder to an external drive and copy it over to the new computer. Place it in your Music folder.
You should be good to go. Enjoy the Macbook - it's a great computer.

  • HT6012 How to get movies from the old iMovie into the new version

I’m very ‘disappointed’ to find out by opening iMovie after updating to Maverick that all my movies seemed to be lost! Or in contrary to other programs, e.g. iPhoto, the movies apparently are left behind in the older version of iMovie.
So after first shock I have to find out that I could ‘recover’ them via Help and Service by updating projects and events. I did this and it seemed to work until this action met movies in my older iMovie project library without original movies in the event library. The update action got stuck here and I had to force quit.
Next morning no trace of any update action in the new iMovie. So I tried again. But now I got the message that iMovie didn’t find any projects and events!!!
Well, they are stille there! Somewhere!
    Can anyone help me out?
    LB

iMovie 10.0.1 has been released to address reliability issues when updating projects and events from previous versions of iMovie. Specifically, iMovie could appear to stop responding or quit unexpectedly during the update process.
If you encountered these issues, you should now be able to update your projects and events successfully. To do this, visit the link below and follow the instructions listed in the section "If updating is interrupted or takes an extended period of time."

  • Importing Music and Movies from PC to Mac

I'm trying to transfer my songs and music from my old PC to my Mac however I'm having a lot of trouble. I copied all my iTunes songs and movies from my old PC to an 80GB external HD. I connected the HD to the new Mac and tried to import the songs and movies into iTunes however it doesn't do anything. When I drag the files to iTunes from the HD folder it just drags it and disappears not copying anything. After that I tried copying all my files from the external HD to the Mac HD and then tried to open the files and still nothing. I've tried using import and add to library but still nothing. I also made sure all the settings in preferences for importing and general were correct. The songs are in AAC format and the movies are in mp4 and m4v. The m4v movies which I bought from iTunes won't play or import to iTunes but the mp4 movies will play however not import. Someone please help!

Does your PC have an ethernet cable in the back? If so, you can make a steady transfer of files that way. It can be faster than wireless connections and does not take up DVDs or CDs. The multimedia files should work correctly, though for the .wma files you will either need to download Windows Media Player for Mac or Flip4Mac, a software that lets you run ".wma" files in QuickTime, but I find to be using Windows Media Player anyway. For your Microsoft Office files, as long as you have Microsoft Office for Mac they should run seamlessly. Outlook files will transfer over to a program called Entourage. Though these can be transfered, not everything can be such as items with the extension ".exe", etc.

You need to transfer the iTunes Library from the most recent backup you made before the hard drive was replaced.
You can't transfer the full iTunes Library from the iPad back to iTunes.
There are third-party Windows applications that will transfer data from an iOS device, but they don't re-create the iTunes Library exactly as it was before.
