All the movies i sync to my iPod don't have any sound!

Quick Time movies have no sound.

Now with out any warning, my quick time movies have stop playing sound. Also my windows media play has stopped playing sound. Also certain internet things have stopped playing sound. My itunes still plays sound, but anything with video has no sound.
It happen i think after I installed any divx componet. I deleted it and restarted my comp, and still no sound. This is confusing, and I have no clue how to fix it?

Open the Audio MIDI Setup app (found in your Utilities folder).
Set the audio output format to 44100Hz and try the files again.
Many third party audio apps use (and change) these settings. You may have to do it again after using them.

What video converter are you using? Maybe the converter did'nt convert your movie well! I use Videora iPod Converter which works very well since i bought my ipod...

hi!... i have got an 30g ipod video... i can play songs alrite but when i try and watch a movie or a video in my ipod i dont get any sound.. im wondering why that is?..

If the videos are multiplexed MPEG files then the audio and the video are muxed onto the same track. QuickTime, and therefore any application that uses QT like iTunes, the iPod, iMovie (Mac app), etc. expect two separate tracks, one video and one audio. So when you play these muxed files, the video is played and the audio is not seen.
So you need to do a conversion on the file first. MPEG Streamclip is a popular one that comes in both Mac and Windows versions and is known to "repair" this problem.
See the other link given above for other applications that might be able to do the same thing. But your root cause is the muxed MPEG files.

Movies have no sound or video...what do I do?

I have just copied all of my movies to my new computer running Windows 7. The movies show up and appear to be playing with the time on the movie going forward. However, there is no sound or video. What do I do?
Music was copied over in the same way and plays just fine.

Try this:
1. Close all inactive apps. Double-click the Home button and hold apps in the Task Bar down until they all wiggle then tap the minus sign to close apps. Tap the home button to return to Home screen.
2. Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo.

My videos/Movies have no sound when i play them on my ipod!!!

I have correctly converted my videos for the ipod and they have gone on to my ipod, though when i go to watch them there is no sound, i have played around with the settings but nothing has worked.....PLEASE HELP its really fustrating! x

Videos in iPhoto have no sound after upgrade! HELP!

After updating to the latest version of iPhoto, some of my videos have no sound! Even when I navigate to the file in the finder (Library > Show Package Contents > Masters), they have no sound! I've tried playing the file in QTIt seems to have only happened to some videos and not others. No real pattern that I can see.
Has anyone else noticed this?? Besides restoring from a backup, any ideas how to fix the problem?

I have the latest version of Perian installed. These were recorded on a Point & Shoot digital camera (Canon Powershot SD 1000). Some videos from the camera have sound, some do not, even from the same event. The movies have no sound in VLC, QT 7, iPhoto. It seems to have only affected videos in the 2008 and 2009 folder, but not all of them.

dolby surround or "ProLogic" isn't "dot" anything, it is simple 2 channel audio. basically it uses a matrix to decode the audio and "steer" audio to the appropriate channel. ProLogic decoders generally have a left, center, right, surround left, and surround right output... but the surround outputs are actually a mono output, just happen to have 2 physical outputs because most installations had 2 rear speakers. there is a subwoffer output to, which is a crossovered output from the decoder's summed output.
the simple explanation of the way it works...
if audio is only in the left channel, it plays back on the left speaker
ditto right channel, right speaker
if audio is on both left and right channels and "in phase" then it plays back on the center speaker
if audio is on both left and right channels but "out of phase" it plays back on the surround speakers.
ProLogic steering is not 100%, so there is some leakage between channels, and of course signals can be mixed so can have multiple sound elements playing back in various left / right / in phase / out of phase combinations to give you that 360 surround capability.
5.1 is more effective as it eliminates the need to "steer" and simply allows the audio engineer to output any sound he wants to any speaker.
i'm not going to conjecture quite yet what is going to happen with ITMS and surround, but i have to believe that it is coming. high end surround processors and receivers have been using Cirrus Logic decoders that are capable of decoding multi-channel AAC for some time now, so that is 1 option for discrete surround implementation.

Movies I record with the iphone have no sound

I've recorded a few movies with the iphone where the sound was fine, and now suddenly the last few have no sound when I play them back. I know I'm not covering the microphone...they are next to the charging dock on the bottom...
any ideas??

Connect to iTunes.
Do a sync as each sync makes a back up.
When done click restore this time instead of sync (right there in iTunes)
It will reinstall the OS.
You can restore from back up to see if just the fresh OS fixed it and thus your backup will be put back too with all your data.
If doesn't fix, repeat but when it asks ifyou want to use backup, say no this time and restore it as a new phone.
If that still fails, then take it to Apple.
Restoring is what they suggest first and they will try in the store as well if you didn't.

I have no sound at all on my Mac Pro. I was watching movies online and also listening to itunes n the weekend, now no sound at all??

e in the weekend, at times with my earphones on. Now for some reason I have no sound at all not just while watching movies but also in itunes.

I was able to successfully export a clip that was originally a .mov file. It seems that anything else I import will only export with a blank screen.

You would have to create the ringtones.
Google will find several way to do this.
You cannot buy ready made ringtones from your computer.
