Movies in pdf files on iPad

If I make a interactive pdf with a movieclip (mp4) I can watch it on my mac but if I open the pdf on my iPad I just see the stillpicture where the movie is placed and I can not get it to play. How do I solve this?

Actually, yes, you can get other videos onto your iPad. But it's tricky. YOu'd use the camera connection kit. And a SD card. Put the movie(s) onto the SD card, in the DCIM folder and name them appropriately...meaning 8 characters/numbers, all caps.
MOV20012 for example.
They also need to be in a format the iPad will play, mp4, etc.
Plug that SD card into your iPad, the movies will show up, you choose the one to transfer over and then can play it out of iPhoto
That said, the only movies i've done this with are ones I've made a copy of myself (as in made my own digital copy of dvds I own/things i've recorded off the tv.) I've not done it with iTunes movies or other downloaded movies because the DRM likely won't allow it. ANd you will need a large SD card because each movie will be a couple of gigs.
Theoretically it's possible, but it takes about as long as it takes to watch teh movie to do it

When in iTunes on the computer,my our ipadmshould show under devices.
Click on your ipadmunder devices then go to music at top center of the iTunes window, check what you want to sync for music. You need to set it to a folder if I remember which would have your music in it you want synced.
Same with PDF files.....there should be an option for data or even PDF files at the top center area of iTunes when the iPad is clicked under devices.
If your iPad does not show or you cannot click on it under devices which is in the leftane of iTunes, the iPad is not being seen by the computer.
Try unplugging the USB cord from the laptop then give it a few and see if the computer picks it up.

  • Trying to transfer pdf files to ipad

HI which App is best to move PDF's from my PC to my ipad. I have downloaded some free ones but still can't seem to transfer PDF's from the PC though itunes to my ipad. I clicked on the Apps section in itunes and the Apps list comes up and i have tried to add files and or folders but nothing shows up in the ipad. Even tries to click on the Apps icon but that did nothing, maybe i need a better App or something or maybe a better understanding.

Install the free Adobe Reader and use File Sharing in iTune to add PDF file to iPad

How do I move a pdf file from my download area into adobe reader

    Hi!
Adobe Reader automatically lists all the PDFs on your device in it's file browser. You can toggle between the "All PDFs" view and "Folder View" in the "Documents" tab of the file browser.
    Thanks

  • Looking for help for sharing pdf files with ipad from mac.  Pages only recognizes text.  What app should I use for file sharing pdf documents?

Looking for advice on how to share pdf files with iPad from Mac.   Pages seems to only recognize text.   What app is recommended for pdf documents?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities!
If I understand your question, you want to read pdfs on your iPad, not create or edit.
Drag pdf files to the iPad icon in Finder while connected to your computer via the USB cable.
They will show up in the iBooks application
(If you don't already have iBooks, it's a free download from the App Store.)
Once installed, there are two buttons at the top left of the Bookshelf.
One is Books, the other is Collections.
Tap Collections, and you'll see Books and PDFs.
    Tap PDFs and you're there.

  • Using pages how to insert pdf files on ipad?

using pages how to insert pdf files on ipad?
Anybody have any idea, have pdf files in ibook do not see where to insert pdf's.
Also trying to get word files onto ipad using drop box, do these word files need to be saved in another format?
    Also for pages.
    thnx

No - the Word files do not need to be saved in any other format if you have Pages on your iPad. There are other apps that provide better compatibility than Pages but it will work for you. You have to have DropBox on your PC and the free DropBox app on the iPad to use DropBox to transfer files.
To send the file using DropBox -  make sure DropBox is running on your computer. Then place the file in one of the folders that you have set in your DropBox folder on your PC. Launch DropBox on your iPad and find the folder that you placed the file into and tap on that folder. Find the document and tap on it. It will open in the window on the right. Tap the arrow icon in the upper right corner and select Open in Pages.
If you have pdf files in iBooks that you want to put into Pages you have to email them to yourself and use the Open In feature when you open the email. You cannot send a file from iBooks other than to email it - at least I am not aware of any other way.

How do i open PDF files in ipad?

Have you got iBooks app ?
This is what I use to open and read PDF files using my iPad3.
My source of PDF files are emails.
I tap on them and keep my fingers pressed.
A pop up appears, and I select iBooks to start reading the PDF file.

Does Firefox switch to full screen if you press F11 ?
You can also try the F10 key to see if that brings up the menu bar.

How did you get the PDF into iTunes, drag to the books library? What PDF apps do you have on the iPad? If you dragged into the books library - and you have iBooks, look in there.
You can email the PDF to yourself and it will open a as mail attachment. You need a compatible app in order to save it, but you can open it from the mail app.

  • HT204365 how to move pdf files from ipad (ibooks) to pc?

I have several pdf files on my ipad from another computer... I don't want to loose them when I synch with my pc. what can I do?

Copy them from the original computer to the new computer.
iOS devices are not and have never been backup devices.  They merely mirror the content of the computer to which they sync.

  • PDF files on iPad's iBooks won't sync with iPhone's iBooks

I have many downloaded PDF files saved in my iBooks app on my iPad.  They are work documents so nothing that I purchased from the store.  I have everything set to sync in my iBook settings, but when I look in iBooks on my iPhone, only the folders synced, not the actual documents.  Is there a way to get them to sync?

Even though they aren't iTunes purchases you should be able copy them from your iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases if you have iTunes 11 on your computer) - you can then sync them to your iPhone.
The sync bookmarks and sync collections settings won't copy items between your devices, it will just keep the the books/PDFs that you have on both devices in-line with each other e.g. if you have a PDF on both and you move it into a collection on one device then it will put into the same collection on the other device.

  • I cannot link my PDF files on iPad to itunes

    Gents,
I have reinstalled Windows on my desktop, and now I am trying to copy back the pdf files from my iPad 2 to iTunes. For some reason, itunes sees only 2 directories, "pfd" and "books" and ignores all other directories that I have created on the iPad. It also does not see any pdf files on the iPad that I created myself. This is rather irritating. I can read all the stuff on my iPad, but I would want to keep the copies in iTunes. What shall I do?
    Sincerely,
    Alex

The only good way to move an iTunes library is to first change the iTunes music folder location in preferences, and then run the command Library > Consolidate. That puts a copy of each file in the new designated Music folder.
Any other method causes iTunes to lose the files.
If you have the MP3s on the drive, and want to add them to the iTunes library, use the command File > Add Folder to Library, which will scan the folder you point it to, including all its subfolders. (iTunes does not scan until you tell it to.)
