Movies in PDF files?

We're using Pages to develop PDF documents. Is there a way to incorporate video (flv, swf, mov, etc) in PDF documents? When I export to PDF all that appears is a black placeholder where the video originally resided.

Yes, there is a way, but not with Pages.
Hmm ... same here, it does not seem to work. Strange, since the Help and the UI suggests it should work. Voice and video clips are clearly linked by default, but why would the linked clips not get embedded as the Help suggests they should.
Help subject Using Sound and Movies says: "To make sure that the movies and other media can be played and viewed when your document is transferred to another computer, make sure that “Copy audio and movies into document” is selected; after you choose Save or Save As, click the disclosure triangle next to the field, and then click Advanced Options."
File > Save As > Advanced Options has commands to embed linked objects
- Copy audio and movies into document
- Copy template images into document
This should refer to native format files, not to interchange format files such as PDF.

This method applies to voice and video that is not in the iTunes index. Save out to PDF, no sound in Preview, no sound in Acrobat.

The Adobe-Apple deal at Seybold San Francisco in September 1994 was that Apple would support Acrobat and Adobe would support QuickTime, and since this was yesteryear then one wonders why QuickTime does not seem to work in PDF from Apple's side. Either I'm missing something or the system is missing the plot -:).
