Movies in shades of green!

Movies downloaded from itunes when played on my computer in itunes are only in shades of green. When I play the same movie files with quicktime (on the same computer) they play in normal color. Also some pictures for movies in the itunes store are only in shades of green. I updated to itunes 10.5.3.3 and still green. I played the same files on my over computer with itunes and they are fine.

I'm getting the green problem but the specs are a little different.
I have H.264 videos that play green (and at the wrong size) on Tiger.
They were created on a Leopard machine with QT 7.6.

sounds like an issue with the internal dvd player. I would try connecting an external to the TV and see if you get the same results. Sounds like an issue between the output of the dvd player to the display (all internal) If it works externally then i would stick with the external solution.

My Quicktime movie has a pink, green

My Quicktime movie has a pink, green and grey looking wire mesh over the image when previewed in iDVD but the movie looks good in Quicktime Player so the problem is just reviewing in iDVD.

Shades of green and velocity questions.

I imported a midi file from harmony assistant into Logic 9 I added a few new instruments and tracks. I notice the tracks are a different shade of green (the new stuff I entered.)
wondering why? also is there a way to enter velocity when you enter notes in the score editor? (step entry).

There are (at least) 4 ways that you can enter note events in the Score editor:
With the pencil tool (or drag over from the Partbox with the pointer).
You'd need to adjust the velocity separately, using the Velocity tool or perhaps HyperDraw
Using the Step Input Keyboard.
You can choose note length & velocity here manually or via keycommands
Using MIDI Step Input
After you have enabled MIDI Step Input, change the note length in the PartBox manually or via keycommand, then use your MIDI keyboard to enter both pitch and velocity
Use the Step Input Keyboard and MIDI Step Input combined:
Note length is selected in the Step Input Keyboard, pitch and velocity input from your MIDI controller.

[Desktop] Let users decide which terrible shade of green to make everything

Although Spotify might be hard at work coming up with a new and even more sickening shade of green why not give users the power to choose their own disturbing shade of green? Or at least give us the option of switching back to the old green.

I love spotify so much, and I love what it does and i think the people that made it had the right idea but I detest the new shade of green with every fiber of my being, it is just awful. Or as you so astutely put it, "sickening"... going back to the old green would be a change I would welcome with open arms, but I like your idea of choosing your own shade of green, perhaps even take that a step further and allow users to choose their own color for the app, so we could have a myriad of different shades of colors.

My movie just went all green. What happened?

Hi all.
Just imported some clips from my Sony Digital 8 Handycam.
Got them to the timeline and threw away a half second or so of junk that got imported at the end of the tape.
I emptied the trash but havent done ANY other edits.
The whole movie turned an ugly green.
HELP please.

You probably checked Safari in Settings > iCloud? This will sync bookmarks across all your devices that use your Apple ID, and one of them either lost its bookmarks, or they were deleted from that device. Is that possible?
Try this: double-click the Home button to see recent apps. Tap and hold the Safari icon until the icon appears. Tap it.
Return to the Home screen and tap Safari again. Fixed?

Can you crop, resize and move a clip using green screen?

This is what I'm trying to do:
Film an outdoor shot of a mountain in the distance, then film myself in front of a green screen pretending to climb. Crop that "climbing clip" ...reduce the size, and move it so it looks like I'm climbing the mountain.
I'm hoping this is possible with the express version of Final Cut... even better if it was possible with iMovie HD.

Yes, you should be able to do it in FCE. You would have to play with the green screen clip in wireframe mode in the Canvas to resize & move it. Probably can't be done in iMovie.

Suddenly, when I attempt to edit a RAW photo in iPhoto it turns a dark shade of green and won't allow me to adjust exposure.

I have an iMac with a 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7 processor and running OS X version 10.9.5. I have iPhoto 9.5.1.
Suddenly, when I attempt to edit a RAW photo in iPhoto, it turns a green shade and won't let me adjust exposure. I can view the pictures in the events page just fine. However, I'm noticing that when the RAW pictures turn that green shade they tend to stay green regardless of when I'm in edit mode or not. Please help.

Did you install RAW update 5.07 recently? Mine was installed 9/18 - look under updates in the App store.
As to TM I suggest you not mess with its backups - it manages them and makes space as required - it builds a complex set of data so it can restore any file at any time for as long as possible - if you mess with its data you may cause problems for future restores - see Mac Basics: Time Machine backs up your Mac

As your backup drive begins to fill up to its capacity, Time Machine intelligently deletes the oldest backups to make room for newer ones. It also alerts you if the "Notify after old backups are deleted" option is selected in Time Machine preferences.

Converting shades of green to shades of red

I have a few icons with colors ranging from white to dark green...
Is there a way to convert those icons to a range ranging from white to dark red...automatically ?

One way might be to load them into an app that understands the format of icons - e.g., Irfan View - and swap green and red channels. That might work
under some conditions.
In the general case, assuming you can get the icons in and out of Photoshop as images, you might consider using the Image - Adjust - Hue / Saturation control, select Greens, perhaps widen the color range a bit as needed, then move the hue slider so the greens become reds.

Synced movie playing as blank green screen

I recently synced several movies to my iPad, but one of them just plays as a blank green screen with sound. It plays correctly on my laptop. Any ideas on what the problem is and how to fix it? Thanks.

I suspect there may be some corruption in the movie that prevent it's playing on the iPad. If you have GoodReader installed see if that will play it. If not I would try to get another coy of the movie and try again. Alternately, you might want to try converting the movie using a program such as HandBrake for the Mac.

Chroma Key Issues. Keying three shades of green

My friend shot some footage on a homemade green screen and it was unevenly lit. He wants me to key out the green in FCP 5 and and add some video behind it but I don't know if there is a way to target all green in the clip. Can I target everything green in FCP? Is there a program that can do that? Is there another trick that can help me out?

Imported .mov files turn green and do not play

I imported some video files using the Camera Connector Kit from my Nikon V1 to my iPad 3rd Gen, which are .mov, and they turn green and do not play the actual video footage; however, the sound does play. I've searched the Discussions and have found nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

Why movies are green on ipod touch

After iTunes places a movie onto the 32GB, 4th Generation, iPod Touch, the movie plays in a green color and/or ie pixalated. Anyone know a fix?

iPhoto CAN be installed on an iPod Touch 4G and also an iPad 1, just use the iPhone Configuration Utility download:

Just add the Application (after downloading in iTunes) to the program, connect your iPod/iPad and click "Install".
However: You can't sync apps with iTunes after doing this (it will remove iPhoto)
It will work perfectly on both iPad and iPod Touch
