Movies not syncing??

Just got a 4th generation nano, music syncs just fine. Movies are showing up fine in the library, it says the sync is complete, but they're not there. Any ideas, anyone?
Thank you in advance.

Here is an Apple article on the process:

I would suggest you check your settings for the iPod in iTunes. To do this, open iTunes while the iPod is connected. Then notice the tabs. You will see one titled Movies and another titled TV Shows. In each, you get options to sync shows. Do that, then click the Apply button in the lower right.

  • Movies NOT syncing.  Help!

    Please help!
I've got about seven movies in my iTunes library, some digital downloads and a few purchased from iTunes. My PC is authorized. My syncing is set to sync only selected music and videos. Before the latest version of iTunes, I never had any issues syncing them to my iPhone 4 and my iPad. Now, when I check a movie to add it to the devices, the disk meter does not move and the movies do not sync. I am able to sync one of the movies -- Jack*ss 3D -- but none of my other movies will sync to my devices.
If I check "Manually manage music and movies," I am able to drag and drop the movies from my library to the device and sync them that way. I do not like this option, however, because it does not automatically sync my music library when manual management is turned on. What I want is to be able to simply check or uncheck the movies I want to add or remove from my iPhone/iPad. Is this too much to ask?

  • ITunes Store movie not syncing because login could not be verified

I bought a movie from the i tunes Store. When I sync with my ATV the movie does not sync. An information icon appears, and when I click on the icon it says that my movie could not sync because the ATV could not verify my login. The message suggest that I make sure that my ATV can connect to the internet.
My ATV is connected to the router and it can see all the computers on my network. I checked the router logs and the requests from the ATV ip address were allowed. However, I still cannot sync the purchased movie from the i tunes store.
I would be very grateful for any help.

Thanks for the help. But unfortunately it did not fix the problem.
Just as a note. I first synced my ATV with another itunes, on a different computer. Then I switched to the itunes on the current computer. My next step is to reset the ATV to the factory settings then try again.
Any more advice would be appreciated.

  • Books and Movies not Synced to iPhone

I used to sync some PDFs from my PC (iTunes) to my iPhone 3GS and there was no issues.
However, after I run the sync today, the PDFs are disappear on my phone. They are still in my iTunes' LIBRARY->Books. All checked.
During the sync process, I can see the PDFs are being copied to the phone. But in my phone's iBooks, there is nothing.
Same situation when I try to sync a movie clip to my phone.
I added the movie clip (mp4) into the library, it appears in my iTunes' LIBRARY->Movies, checked.
But when I launch the player on my phone, there is no content (I do not have any other song on my phone).
    Any idea?

My problem is similar. I had a few dozen songs I'd bought over the years that showed up this morning as "ringtone eligible". Then I bought two new ones. Everything downloaded correctly. Then I realized that I couldn't 'edit' the ringtone because my laptop's sound ports don't work any more, so I copied the two new songs to a Mac at work, and "authorized" that Mac to play the songs. That all worked fine, but suddenly the ringtone icon was gone from the newly downloaded songs. Then, when I looked at my laptop on the adjoining desk, ALL the ringtone icons had disappeared from my previously purchased songs and the two new ones. Now I can't find any way to get the ringtone icons back, and therefore I can't make any ringtones at all (even though I had dozens of eligible songs only moments before!). I also noticed that, on the laptop, there is an icon in the left-hand list for Ringtones (under Music, iTunes Store, etc.) but on the desktop computer (running the exact same version of iTunes - 7.4.1 (2)) there is no such icon. The songs play on both computers, but there are no ringtone icons anywhere (the column is visible, but empty). Any ideas?

  • Home movies (*.mov) not syncing?

I've got a bunch of home movies, all in *.mov format, that refuse to sync to my AppleTV (1st gen). Some were shot with a digital camcorder, some were shot with my iPhone 4. All of them play just fine in iTunes on my Mac, but they won't sync to the ATV.
What's more annoying is that I have a bunch of home movies in the exact same format that are already synced up and play just fine; just seems to be the last dozen or so that won't appear in the play list.
Anybody have any idea what's going on here?

Not as simple as that. Just because it plays in iTunes doesn't mean it will play on apple tv. Have a look at the compatible specs below.
    1. H.264 and protected H.264 (from iTunes Store): Up to 5 Mbps, Progressive Main Profile (CAVLC) with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps (maximum resolution: 1280 by 720 pixels at 24 fps, 960 by 540 pixels at 30 fps) in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
    2. iTunes Store purchased video: 320 by 240 pixels, 640 by 480 pixels, 720 by 480 pixels (anamorphic), or high-definition 720p
    3. MPEG-4: Up to 3 Mbps, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps (maximum resolution: 720 by 432 pixels at 30 fps) in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats

  • Home movies not syncing with ATV

I have created some home movies in iMovie. I export them to iTunes. Then, in iTunes, i convert them to ATV. So now, in iTunes, i see 1) the movies i bought from iTunes, and 2) my home movies that i exported and converted. but the problem is that on ATV, i only see the movies i bought, and not the home movies.

Streaming content will not be available on the tv if itunes isn't running, which is one way you could tell if you are syncing or streaming.
Before something can be sent to the tv it needs to be checked. When I say checked I mean in the main itunes window next to it's name (i.e. to check a specific movie, select movies from the library list in the top left hand box in the window. Find your movie in the list in the main window and tick the checkbox to the left of the movies name).

  • Only one movie not syncing?

Hi there. New to atv and love it so far. It's working quite well and only one HD download took about 45 mins but all others were less then 1 min. I have run across one problem, I use Custom Sync, which has worked great. I was watching 1 movie on my ipod touch and then transferred it back to itunes and then checked it to be sync'd to atv so I could watch the rest on widescreen. The issue it it won't sync onto atv. I have even checked the sync all in movies and it works for all movies except for this one. There's nothing different about this movie. I'm sure this is a user problem and there's something I'm not doing - any ideas?? Thanks!

Thanks for clarifying how the downloads work. I've only had my atv for a week now so it is all quite new. As for the movie, it's a purchase so I'm likely not using the "transfer" term correctly. Sorry about that! The only difference with this movie and my others was that I originally had it on my ipod touch so I didn't bother syncing it to my atv when I first set it all up. I don't think I stream anything to atv and I can't see anything except for the content that I have custom sync'd over. I only see the content I sync and I do not have the "Only show content that is sync'd" checked. Not sure why this is but everything works so I am happy either way. Just this one movie….can't figure out what I am doing wrong.

  • Some mp4 movies not syncing after conversion

I converted some movies to mp4 and they used to sync perfectly and I could watch them fine. Now only some of the old ones sync but some give the error. 'cannot be played on ipod'. If i convert a movie now it plays fine. Am i missing an option as i don't understand why some movies converted in the same batch don't work now and some do . They are all mp4.

I have the same problems! Hope Apple will fix it very soon.

  • Movies not syncing on iTunes?

My movies appear on my tiniest desktop but won't download when I tick the  and sync to my iPad.

You need to copy them from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

  • Rented Movies not syncing

For whatever reason my rented movies will not transfer over to my 3G iPod Nano. I've restored the nano and updated from 7.6 to 7.7. Neither worked. Every time I move the file from iTunes into the 3G Nano in the rented movies tab and hit apply, it gives the following error:
The rented movie "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story" could not be transferred to the iPod because an unknown error occurred (404).
Same thing happens when I try and move over There Will Be Blood. Each expires in 29 days.
    Windows XP machine...I'm at work.
    Nano has the latest software.

FYI, I didn't post this 3 times for attention, the server wasn't working correctly earlier and timed-out. Must have happen when I clicked back to submit.

  • I bought a new computer and want to move (not sync) everything to my new system - bookmarks, add-ons, etc. How do I do this? I've done it before, but I can't find it anymore

I've done this before, but now I can't even find an export function. I am on version 9.0.1 on Windows 7. Has this capability been eliminated? I don't want to sync, as I won't be using the old computer any more, and I don't want all of my information out on someone else's server, no matter how secure it's supposed to be. Help?

  • Movie content will not sync with Apple TV (1st Gen)

I have some iTunes purchased movies which refuse to be sync'd with my Apple TV (1st Gen).  Storage for the ATV is external using FireCore (latest release), and I have added content since this issue began, but the same movies still will not sync.
I have tried syncing as 'Playlists' - my preferred, also ticking the 'boxes' for these items within the 'Movie List' on iTunes, finally selecting 'All Movies' - none work.
My iTunes Library lists 98 items.  Apple TV lists 90 items.  Both include iTunes Extras
This question/problem is also listed (incorrectly) under Apple TV and Photo's

I am also experiencing major sync issues with my recently purchased Apple TV which will NOT transfer any content (purchased or otherwise) over from my iMac (27" 2.66 GHz Intel i5 Core). I am running iTunes 9.03, and Apple TV OS 3.02.
All content plays on my Apple TV fine and I've had no trouble transferring purchased TV shows back to the iMac.
I was on the phone with Apple support for well over an hour about this yesterday: failed solutions included factory restores and direct iMac-ATV Ethernet connection. They decided that the Apple TV might be defective, so it was returned and exchanged. New Apple TV=same problem.
Incidentally, the first Apple TV was initially synced with a Windows XP machine running iTunes 9.01. No problems with syncing content from the PC.
I spoke with Apple support again this morning: we tried 2 factory restores, but could not get any content to sync from the iMac to ATV.
I also tried to sync from an older iMac G3 (OS X 10.4 and iTunes 9.03) with the same unsuccessful result.
Still waiting for Apple support to call back with more ideas. In the meantime, I've synced the ATV back to iTunes 9.01 running on Windows XP without any problems.
Very frustrating: there must be a major ATV sync issue that affects Macs running iTunes 9.03. I hope that Apple will address the problem and offer a fix.

  • How can I set the movies I have put into itunes so that they do not sync each time I try to sync new music purchaes?

I can uncheck tv shows and when I sync music or app purchase the tv shows do not sync unless they are marked us unwatched.  I have put digital copies of some blu-rays into itunes and I cannot get them to be in itunes without syncing when sync new purchases.  How can I keep the movies in itunes for storage but keep them from going to the device and taking up memory when I am not needing them?

Just untick Sync Movies or change the drop down below to selected movies.

  • I am having a weird problem with my phone every since it was updated this last time. I can sync movies from my computer to my iphone but any movies I buy with my phone I can not sync to the computer. But I redownload it to the computer and can then sync.

I for the first time since buying my iphone and ipods for almost three years am concedering getting rid of them as I am getting tired of this problem. I can sync anything from my computer to the iphone. I can not sync movies bought on the iphone to my computer. I have tried everything and spent days trying to trouble shoot. I literally have bought hundreds of movies off Itunes but will not buy any thing else until I can figure this problem out. I have uninstalled Itunes reinstalled, troubles shooted using the itunes trouble shooter and reset my phone and nothing works.
When I try to sync from my phone to the computer it says it can not be done because the iphone is not hooked up to the computer. I have only had these problesm since the new update not before. I have bought new cables twice to see if it helped and has not. Both my kids have Ipods, I have a Iphone and was planning on buying two Ipads for the kids for Christmas but not if I can fix this.

You are correct.  Syncing should transfer any purchased media, including videos, from your device to your iTunes library provided your computer is authorized for the Apple ID used to make these purchases.  You mentioned that you have uninstalled iTunes before, but if you didn't follow this guide exactly, uninstalling iTunes and all of its components in the order specified, it may not have been successful so you should try again:  Windows XP or Windows Vista/7.
