Movies Pause on attempt to play them

Hi there,
I experience a problem since the last Update of my Apple TV 2G. I choose one of my Movies located on my HD to view and start them. They start playing, but everytime I forward and then hit the Play-Button to continue the movie, the Apple TV automatically pauses it again. You see the "Play" Symbol shortly flashing up as the movie continues for one frame and then pauses again and you see the "Pause" Symbol again. Thats whats happening everytime you push the Play Button after that.
I tried to reset it to factory defaults twice and checked every connection. I checked that my apple remote isnt connected to the Computer from which I stream my files, so that there is no feedback of the remote.

Anything unclear, or does really nobody has an answer to my question to solve the problem ?

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

Is QuickTime installed? If not it might help to install it.
If so is Direct3D Video Acceleration enabled? If so it might help to disable.

I have movies in my movie library but i cannot play them or drag them into my ipod.There is an exclamation point next to each of them.Then when i click on it to play it it says the movie cannot be used because the original file could not be found.

How do I retrieve cache.mov files so I can play them on quicktime?

Hi, I've recently been deleting files to free up harddisk space and have come upon some cache.mov files. These are videos I regret deleting and have no backups of. When I get info on them if shows the video in the preview, but if I try to open it in Quicktime or VLC it won't play. Is it possible to save these files and get them to play on Quicktime?

Streaming movies pause's when I view them via airplay

I run everything via Wifi, and apparently this is a fairly common problem.
What can I do to remedy the problem?

Your intuition is correct. Download a free download of VLC player, and you may end up using it as your default video player. (It's faster and more versatile than QTPlayer.)
When you install it on your MacBook, it willl allow you to view media on your external HD.

Is it possible to set up Time Capsule on one network and then access its stored data (movies) using Back to My Mac from another network that also has Apple TV to play them?

I recently purchased a Time Capsule to store data at my office. I have an Apple TV at my home that I would like to start using to play my movies. With the storage of the new Time Capsule, I am curious if I can somehow store my iTunes movies on the Time Capsule at my office and then use Back to My Mac to access the TC from my home and then play them via Apple TV. Does this sound possible? We have an iMac at the office that remains on 24/7 connected to the TC.

ATV cannot play movies from the TC, even if it is on your home network.. ATV is a streamer.. it is not a media player.. and the TC is a dumb as a board hard disk in a router.. so it has nothing in it either.
You cannot play movies from ATV without itunes, which streams to the ATV.
If the iMac is running 24/7 then you should be able to connect to the iMac remotely and run from iTunes on that, which could then play movies stored on the TC.. with the following issues.. if you use wireless on the iMac forget it. The iMac has to be ethernet connected as it has to pick up the movie on the library and play it back to the TC to network to your home.
The next issues is speed of slowest connection.
Your download to your home maybe great.. what is the upload speed from your office like??
If you pay for uploads and downloads you will pay for the movie 3x.. first to download it.. second to upload it.. office to net.. and third to download it again.. net to home.. Sorry but it is better to play the movie directly from online itunes store.
If you plan to try and play non-itunes movies over the connection, it won't work.. ATV as stated is linked to itunes and cannot play movie files.
Overall this sounds like you need to think it out a bit more.

They're in the iTunes folder, in iTunes Media or iTunes Music depending on when your iTunes was first installed. The iTunes folder by default is in My Documents/Music.

Unfortunately, the drive is pretty much restricted without hacking it. That is, you can't stream its content via standardized protocols like UPnP, SMB, FTP and the like. This makes you won't be able to access its content from any third-party apps otherwise capable of playing back AVI files from UPnP / SMB / FTP / WebDAV etc. sources.
While this is certainly not a recommendation (I can in no way be held responsible if anything goes wrong): you may want to consider extending the capabilities of the drive by installing the hack: http://www.hackseagatesatellite.com/wordpress/welcome/
It'll "open" the drive for third-party, AVI-capable multimedia apps like GoodPlayer, It's Playing etc. to directly play the files over the network.

You can't fix it. iTunes bought content is DRM protected. so it can only be played on authorized devices. i.e devices associated with the apple Id used to purchase the content. Its copyright protection that the rights owners demand.
Circumventing it, is illegal in most countries, and as such cannot be discussed here. If you want to play the content you'll need to connect your computer directly to your TV, or use some other device you can authorize for iTunes content such as an iPad, iPhone , iPod touch or Apple Tv.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
