Movies playlists in iTunes

How can I make playlists of various categories of movies so that the playlists appear under Movies and not under Music or Playlists?
I want to place my movies that I make in one list, and downloaded movies (like from YouTube) in another playlist, etc. and I want these in the Movies slot - not the Music or Playlist slot. Is this possible? If so, how?
and then the playlists show on AppleTV - like a tv "Law & Order" series and then click to expand the menu to the individual programs

hi just got an iphone and and bought a few movies but they r in my music playlist on my fone is there anyway of moving them and making a playlist just 4 movies and keeping them in the video slot cause everytime i sync my fone it gets back in my music playlist plz any help would b appreciated thanks

I created a Movie playlist in iTunes with 3 trailers and a movie. I can view the playlist fine in iTunes. When I go to my ATV3 the playlist does not show up anywhere. There is no playlist option under movies and the playlist doesn't show up when I select playlists under Music. I can access my music playlists fine and also the movies. It's just this Movie playlist that is missing on the ATV. Where do I access a Movie playlist on ATV3?

"There's an option in settings for Playlists. It was set to Music only. Changed that to All then found the movie playlist under Movies by selecting Genre."
This is not to be done in iTunes in your computer; this is to be done at your apple TV under "setting". "audio video" "show playlist" "music only/all"
I am posting this here because I started chat mode with Apple support last night at midnight till 1:30, they didn't know what to do.
They called me back this morning at 10 am.
It's not 11:40 they finally know what I am talking about and showed me where to to find the "music only / all" toggle. My problem is now fixed;
all these time, they have in front of them a screen shot of your questions and answer but they don't know where to change it from music only to all.
So, I hope this will save the next victim a lot of time.

Is there a way to make movies playlists in itunes 10?

I would like to be able to make a playlist consisting of movies without having to change info to make them into music videos. If there were a sperarte music video category in the itunes library section, that sure would be neat. But instead there is a music video playlist where the music videos will be, but they also show up in the Music library which I do not like or want. So is there a way to make a movies playlist w/o them ending up clogging the Music section of my itunes library?

You can make a playlist that contains any combination of audio and video from the Music, Movies, TV Shows, Books (Audiobooks) and Podcasts sources. If you really object to the music videos appearing in Music, either make them Movies, or perhaps better yet, TV Shows and give them a common Show name to group them together.

Can't move playlists in iTunes 11.1 - wrong ones get moved

I'm trying to drag playlists between folders in the latest iTunes for the latest Lion but the wrong playlist ends up being moved.
I didn't select it.
Really weird.

Just upgraded to Apple TV 2 and wondered whether it is possible to select a playlist rather all the files on a Mac that you connect to? When I connect to my Movies I only seem to have the option of seeing all my movies rather than playlists with selected movies.....

you have to enable playlists in the appletv settings menu.
do that and it will show all your movie and tv show playlists (as well as music).

Moving playlists from itunes to ipod

How do I move playlists from itunes to my ipod? I click the playlist and try to move it to the ipod but it doesn't transfrer. I was able to do this in the past. I'm not sure what has happened. Can anyone help?

I'm making progress. First, I found that I could retrieve the iPod icon by turning my iMac off and then on again (I wish there was an easier, faster way). Secondly, I was reminded why I hadn't been able to drag Playlists to my iPod icon in the past: the distance was too great. By this I mean that as long as the iPod icon and the Playlist to be moved are both on the same screen at the same time, there is no difficulty in dragging the Playlist to the iPod icon. However, if the Playlist is too far down the list of Playlists to appear on the same screen with the iPod icon, it can't be done. At least I don't know how to do it. I once asked for instructions for adjusting the font size the iTunes window, but that apparently can't be done. Other than that, I don't know how I can drag Playlists that are too far down the list of Playlists to the iPod icon. Does anyone?

The easiest and most efficient way to copy your music is to follow the steps under the External drive section. Make sure that you have organized the iTunes library first before you copy it over. Then put the copied iTunes folder in the same Music folder on your computer.

Can't see movie playlists in ATV section of iTunes

I created a playlist of home movies in iTunes 8.2.1, using ATV files made with QT Pro. The playlist has a music icon.
When I look in the ATV movie section on iTunes, I don't see the playlist as a selectable item for syncing (I'm using custom sync for all categories). I also don't see the playlist in the ATV music section. If I add the playlist to a folder, it then shows up in the music section, but can not be selected.
I'm using ATV software 2.3.1 which should have this capability. Also using OS 10.4.11, and everything else with ATV works fine, including playing the movies if they not in playlists.

Yes, on ATV I have "All" playlists enabled.
I upgraded to ATV 2.4 and have the same settings.
I now see that in iTunes 8.2.1, the movie section for ATV does have a choice box for sync selected, but it's either "movies" or "playlists" separately. There does not appear to be a choice for movies and playlists combined, in case I wanted to select just a couple of playlists.
It seems to be all or nothing. Is this the way it's designed? If so, I hope Apple will add another choice for movies in the next ATV or iTunes update (the way it works for music playlists & folders).

I am trying to move playlists from my ipod to my itunes library on my new computer. I am specifically trying to find a way to move the entire playlist-- intact-- not just random songs, if possible. I realize there have been many answers posted to this question in the past but it appears that many of the answers are not up-to-date anymore for the latest itunes software and ipod hardware. Performed the AppleTV update yesterday. Haven't had a problem since...though it's only been one day. Am I just hopelessly optimistic to think that AppleTV just needed to be updated to match iTunes and iOS for home sharing and airplay?

Unless it has recently changed you can only watch rentals on the device or mac you rent them on.
