Movies search on iPad

I used to be able to search for movies by decade on my iPad. I could get a list of each decade, say 1940s, 1950s etc displaying as a list.. I can no longer find this search. Has this feature gone away in iOS 6.1.3?

iTunes used to have that ability. I believe it used to be at the bottom of the Movies Tab back in iOS 5. and its since been removed.
I don't believe it can be done now, which is kind of annoying.
Actually the movie searches in iTunes are really bad. There's no way to just see all Movies form a specific year, or decade. Or just get a generic listing of movies say that are rentable from the last 6 months or year.

Better Movie Search On iPad

It seems to me that as the library collection grows on itunes it takes longer to load the shared movies on my iPad. I can't simply flick the screen up becuase not all of the cover art is loaded on the iPad for those other pages. I think it would be faster if it would just load the titles, or let you pic a specific genre to load.
I see in itunes you can dsiplay your movies as coverart only, title only or even both title and coverart at the same time.
Is this an option in the iPad somehow?
Is there a spot to request this option to Apple?

Why it's like that I don't think that Apple have said (these are user-to-user forums). If you haven't downloaded it on your iPad then have you checked to see if you can download it on your computer's iTunes (Store > Check For Available Downloads menu option) or Apple TV ?
If it doesn't show on either of them then you can try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will let you download it on a different computer/device or refund or credit you : http://reportaproblem.apple.com

But now I can't find the actual movie...I go to iTunes to purchases and view movies , to downloads and searched the title of the movie...I can see an icon of it and it is in a separate place from other purchases but it says downloaded in faded lettering. Where is it?

I'm trying to load movies onto my ipad from itunes, I've already synced my ipad with all the current songs and the movies, but I go to videos on my ipad and do not see it. So I go to itunes, hit movies and still see nothing but movies for purchase only. I'm going on a trip on Wednesday and would love to sync all my mp4 movies into my ipad but can't find them on my ipad, can anyone give me some advice? I've been searching the forums, but nothing seems to work for me. Appreciate it guys.

Hi I have bought some movies through ITunes with my Mac Book. I moved these movies to the Ipad. But now I want to move these movies back from my IPad to the MacBook but I cannot find the movies in Itunes when I connect it to the Mac Book and because of that I cannot move back these movies from the Ipad to the Mac Book.

It is me again. I syncronized now my Ipad with my Mediathek form the Mac Book and the movies have been deleted. If I want to download them again, ITunes is asking me if I want to buy the article gain? Of course I dont want as I bought it already, and when I go to search for downloads, it say, all downloads with this Aplle ID have been donw. So how do I get back my bought movies? I dont want to buy them again!!

Playing downloaded movies on an iPad

I purchased a movie on my iPad a week ago. I selected SD and assume it should be downloaded by now but I can't find out how to play it. Probably simple to most of you but not to me. Thanks for any help.

It should have downloaded into the Videos app :
If you can't find it in there then try typing in its name on the spotlight search screen (swipe your first homescreen to the right) and see if that thinks that it's on there.

I bought a movie on my iPad, and I can't watch it.

I bought a movie on my iPad. It said it was fully downloaded. When I went to watch it, the play button was replaced with a stop button (on the page that shows a picture and the director and description). Why can't I watch it? It's the newest Mission Impossible movie. If I can't watch it, I want my money back.

Try quitting the videos app and restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If that doesn't work, try starting the Videos app from the search feature and see if that helps.
Swipe to the right from your first home screen to get to the iPad Spotlight search. Type in the name of any of your movies in the field at the top. When the movie appears in the search - tap on it and it should start to play. Let it play for a minute or so - hit done - go back to videos app and see if all is OK.
If that is unsuccessful try resetting the iPad.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

I get the same message when I open it from my iphone 5..."there was a problem connecting to facebook" there isnt a problem though
if i swipe left I see standard Friends at top, below it listsclose friends, family, then a help center, account settings, privacy settings, log out, etc. I dug around there for a while but didnt see any option to delete messages.
if i swipe right I see the word Favorites at the top. above that is a search option. to the right is a weird little symbol kinda like a wheel with gears on it. if i click that it gives me the option of Turn off Chat or Cancel. I did both, it just greys out the friends list that appears. If I click a name, the previous conversation appears. nothing to delete from there, just contact info if I click the i symbol or back to news feed.

Just just to make sure, you do not see something like this when you try to do a search in Safari?
Try clearing Safari in Settings>Safari>Clear Cookies and data. Then close Safari. Double tap the home button and drag the mini Safari window up toward the top of the screen in the multitasking display in order to close the app. Now reboot the iPad. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple Logo appears on the screen.
Try Safari again.
The Spotlight Search feature on the iPad search) no longer searches the web, that is simply the way that Spotlight works now. Sort of a backwards move IMO but somewhat typical of Apple these days.

I can not see an itunes movie purchase on ipad 2

I transferred 3 movies to my ipad 2. I can see all 3 when I click on ON THIS iPAD in itunes, however I can only find 2 of the 3 movies in the video app on the ipad. Can I make the movie work on ipad 2? The movie is "Wreck It Ralph" and works fine on my iPad 3.

Try using a Spotlight Search on the iPad.
Swipe to the right from your first home screen to get to the iPad Spotlight search. Type in the name of any of the movies in the field at the top. When and if the movie appears in the search - tap on it and it should start to play. Let it play for a minute or so - hit done - go back to videos app and see if it shows up.

Tap the iTunes app icon on the iPad to launch it. Then tap the Purchased Tab on the bottom of the iTunes window. That will take you a window that shows all of your iTunes purchases. Tap the View button on the top left and you can choose music or TV shows from the resulting menu. Select TV shows. You can enter the name of the show in the search and if the show appears, tap the TV show name in the list on the left, then tap the TV Show icon in the window on the right and then tap on the cloud icon in the next window that pops up to download it.

As has been discussed on these forums thousands of times, Adobe does not make a flash player for iphone/ipad/ipod and likely never will.
