Movies self-contained and then lost?
I have been making quicktime exports, self-contained, with most of my projects, but after about 6 months I will go back to look at my exported videos and a search shows up and tells me that the video cannot be found. Is there a problem with my mac, because icon still shows that the video is taking up the same space in my drive as before, do I need to just make regular exports without self-containing the videos?
Self-contained are the safest type of export.
Restart your Mac holding the Shift key down until the log on appears, log on (often just click past the password prompt) and run Disk Utility to correct permissions on all drives (or Repair if Permissions is grayed out)

Make Movie Self-Contained option
I edited some video at home and wanted to bring it to work so I can bring it into DVD SP. I selected File>Export QT Movie and chose Current Settings, it was captured as DV NTSC. I also checked make movie self-contained.
1. Is the idea behind this so I will end up with one file that will not need to reference any of the media or project files on the computer it was captured, so it can just be taken with me?
2. I tried several times to copy the 8GB QT file to an external drive, and close to the end of the process I receive the following error:
Sorry, the operation could not be completed because an unexpected error occurred (Error Code -1309).
It then continues copying for a few seconds and just stops and nothing ends up on the external drive. I tried rebooting and unplugging the drive and tried again with the same results. Any ideas why it is doing this? Is this a Tiger issue or an issue with my settings in FCP? I even unchecked Make Movie Self-Contained and it still had the same problem when I tried to copy it.
Thanks!!!If the windows system recognized the drive when connected, and you weren't running a special app like MacDrive on the Windows system, then the drive isn't formatted as Mac OS extended (aka HFS+). It's more likely that it's formatted as FAT 32 since you've used it before to read/write files to and from your Mac. A FAT 32 drive when connected to a Mac will limit file size to 2gb.

As long as the apps are still available in the store, and you use the same iTunes account as you originally used to buy them, then you should be able to re-download them for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519 . If you download them to your computer's iTunes you could then try restoring to your backup and see if that restores them and their settings/content back to your iPhone - a backup doesn't contain the actual apps, just their content/settings, so for the restore to work fully iTunes needs access to the apps so that it can restore them.

Absolutely. You can rent or buy a movie in iTunes and once downloaded to your iPad, watch it without internet access. You can do this directly on your iPad. Open iTunes on your iPad. Browse, then buy or rent what you want. Once downloaded, your purchase will appear in your Video App, which was preloaded on your iPad.

Restore from your backup or Time Machine. If no backup and didn't turn on Time Machine then you are out of luck.

Edge has very clear restrictions, one being that you must have 6 months of clean payment history which you don't. Either wait until April 14, or good luck at Sprint.
I am unsure how it can be determined the payment mix up was the fault of CS, but regardless, the mix up was done. There can be any number of reasons why a payment could be missed without any fault on your part, however you are still the responsible party for the account and must live with the repercussions. -

Exporting movie - self contained = help

I've finished my work in fcp, im ready to export; I need to make 2 different formats for every exported movie.. one is for dvd and the other is for internet (will use compressor)
when i export from fcp using quicktime movie, do I make it self contained or not? self contained takes a lot of space..... once i hand in the files, I will delete all, don't need a copy from that work...
my main question is, does it make any difference if I use compressor with a self contained movie or a NOT-self c m?
thanksreferenced movies work just fine in compressor so long as you are not about to delete the raw footagen or render files.

As you can tell from the title of my post, I don't know much at all about itunes or apple products in general. I am in the market for an ipad2 and would like to download movies from itunes to the ipad2. However, I have been told that even the 64gb ipad2 can only hold a handful of movies. In light thereof, I wanted to know if I download 5 movies to the ipad2 and then delete those 5 movies to make room for other things, will those 5 movies remain in my itunes library so I can upload them at a later time (again) to the ipad2? Or, will I lose the movies forever?

movieclips on the stage(ClipA, ClipB). I would like user to
be able to click on any of them and, this click
will invode a createclip function which pretty much creates a
dynamic movieclip and loads

the function call to one at a time.
So if the user clicks on ClipA, function createclip would get

movie clip. And when user clicks on ClipB, I would like to

When a movie is attached, can it be unloaded or unattached?

Catching an exception to detect dupes is functional but not very elegant. If you use REPLACE then you know your statements will always work. The drawback is that the statement is not portable across databases. -
Get line that contains and then get the second and fourth line after that.
So I have a text file and I want it to find all the lines in the file that contain an @ symbol and then I want it to get that line and the line second and fourth from that line. Then I would export it like this:

Finding the lines with an @ symbol is easy, but how would I tell it to get the second and fourth line after the line with an @ symbol?
So I would get the lines with something like this:

I tryied to download a new movie to itunes and I started to watch the movie before the download was done and something went wrong with itunes and the movie stopped playing and I couldn't close the movie so I turned off the computer and then I turned it on again, but now I don't have the movie anymore.
and now its down from 2 hours left to 46 min left, for some reason after 11pm the speeds change on itunes store and Apple tv for the past 3 days

Digital move to ipad and then to school
I am considering getting an Ipad2. My daughter has been making videos for school using MS Movie Maker. I need to understand how we can get digital movies from camera to Ipad...use iMovie to edit/create...then transfer the finished product to PC (Windows) so she can send to school.
I have been doing lots of research but I have not seen anyone explain a way to make that happen.
It is possible to get video from a camera to the iPad2 to use iMovie and then get that finished video to a Windows PC so she can get it to school?

You would have to get the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit (found at the link below) to import the video into the iPad. You would then have to email the video to yourself then download it through your account on the Windows PC. Be sure your camera records in a format that is transferrable to the iPad. I've been in possession of a 2011 MacBook Pro with OS X Lion since October. Ever since the second or third month I received my MacBook, it has had this problem of shutting down whenever I even touch the monitor, and then occassionally refuses to turn back on. I used to be able to ignore it, as it was rare: now it has become a real problem. Does anyone have any advice? How could this have happened? Is it something I might have downloaded, or is it the battery itself? I think it would be the battery, as the machine refuses to cooperate unless being operated on a flat surface. Thanks in advance.
Any word on this, I have a Macpro doing the same and have to reset the SMC everytime.

My phone is working and all other apps are normal exept facebook.
I logged in a few hours ago and then it went black. It won't open up, like it is stuck.
I tried turning the iphone off but facebook still comes in all black.... I am afraid I have a virus in my phone. Is that possible? I am unable to log out.
