Movies showing up as album art

I have "Phantom of the Opera" on my 30gb iPod, but when I go to it through movies, I get the audio, and a still picture of the WB symbol showing up as album artwork. How can I fix this? Please help.

On your iPod go to "Videos / Video Settings".
Then select "TV Out" and either set it to "off" or "ask".
Also, make sure you are accessing the video through the videos menu. If you have a video mixed in an audio playlist and you access it through that, you also won't be able to see the video.

  • Genius mixes showing up as album art

I started getting genius mixes as my album art for random songs. Started with one, then all the songs in my playlist showed up with the genius mix art.
I cleared all the art work for the songs in that playlist and nothing changes. I cleared all of those songs, synced, and then added them again and nothing changes. Its very odd and frustrating.

Actually that is known to be a common bug in iTunes 9. I also have the same problem and what I did is turn off the Genius feature and then restore your iPod. It worked for me for about a week but then appeared again. I read in a forum that Apple engineers are working to deliver an update to fix this. I think we have to wait but give the restore idea a try, it may work.

  • Videos showing up as album art

This is really weird....I press play on my videos and they show the first frame as the album art...audio still works fine. I'm using firmware 1.0 and the same videos worked yesterday.

I have only experienced this once. It was really weird. All I did was play song in music, and then went back to videos. After that it worked fine.

  • I have an iPod touch 4th gen. why does it show the wrong album art only on my ipod and not on itunes? Is there any way I can fix it?

I have an ipod touch 4th gen. why does it show the wrong album artwork on my ipod and it's fine on itunes. why is that and is there any way to fix it? please help!

I think it can't find the right or any artwork and ends up putting junk in there.
And can happen with artist and other tags.
probably fine with commercial media but otherwise....? I think you have to manaully go in and edit
I also don't like how it handles and stores non-Apple iTunes store content.

  • Everytime I update my ipod - loading new songs - my Album art doesn't show

I don't know if this has been happening to other ppl, but ever since I updated my ipod to newer version of OS4, my album art doesn't show up when it locks to home screen. When I go into music - it shows that the album art is there, but when I lock my ipod, the album art doesn't show up. But when I turn off and on again, it works again. It's just really annoying to always turn off my ipod and on again. And also I've noticed that after updating my ipod (loading new songs) it seems really slow - but when I turn if off and on again - it works normally.
I Don't have lots of songs or movies - I have used a little over half of the space. It's just that these things only happened right after I updated my OS to newer iOS4!
Can either someone make a better iOS4 or something?

Try deleting the songs from your iPod, then in your iTunes library delete the album art and reload the album art back to the songs and put them back on your iPod.

  • Album art fails to show after 1st track

    ipod classic 80G fw 1.0.3
The album art shows properly in CoverFlow
When I start playing from coverflow, it shows the proper album art in the first song I play, but if I go the next song, it shows the "music notes" placeholder like there is no art in the file.
Now for the kicker: if I press the center click from coverflow to show the track list, then start playing the album on track #2, then it shows the artwork, but if I move on to the next track, it fails to show the artwork again.
Basically it acts like it can't find artwork when moving from one song to the next.
All my tracks have album art embedded into them (I checked with Mp3Tag. Art size varies from about 100x100 all the way to 500x500

I figured it out. Thanks to going click happy on the interface. Click on Advanced, then Get Album Artwork". It will then tell you to login and a warning that the song info will get sent to Apple. I've been trying to move my songs over to this thing on and off for months. I really think Android is the way to go as forcing you to convert your songs to a format that takes your rights to play a song away is rediculous. No ringtone using my own songs... seriously? My ancient Blackberry had that option with no special software necessary, you just put your music in a folder and let there be sound! I'm not upgrading to the new iPhone.

  • Using iTunes Match, very little album art is showing

I'm using Mavericks on a 2009 unibody (white plastic) Macbook.  This is not my main computer so I'm trying to free up storage space.  I had the idea to delete all of the music files from the Music folder and just use iTunes Match as a streaming service, just like on my iPhone and iPad.  (The music files are stored on my main Mac with multiple redudant backups.)
I may have gotten overzealous in deleting data.  I saw an album art folder with over 1 gigabyte of data and deleted that as well.
Now all of the music still shows up in the Album view - as it should - however very few of the tracks have any album art.  I gave it some time to see if the art would download from iTunes Match, but it's not happening (get album art is enabled in preferences).
I had the idea to hold down the Option key while restarting iTunes and create a new library, then let iTunes Match populate it.  I don't want to download any content, I just want everything to show up with album art.
Will this work, and how would I remove the corrupted library if it does?

Thanks but still no luck I'm afraid.
To update: I have been using itunes 6 from the outset and have always manually updated the ipod - it has never even been switched to automatic as I changed this at the start (advice from a friend). File formats for the affected tracks are all either AIFF or Apple Lossless - same as all the unaffected tracks.
The even stranger thing is that artwork for some albums, where all the tracks were imported manually at the same time, shows for some tracks on the ipod and not others. The artwork does, however, show for all of the tracks on the ipod when viewed through itunes!

  • Album art does not always show.

I posted this question before, but never found an answer.
Album art works most of the time, but not always.
After ripping a CD, I highlight all songs, get the info dialog, and drop the album art on the info dialog. This works most of the time. But not always. Sometimes, there is a song on a CD that does not appear to have any album art at all. Sometimes it shows the incorrect album art that iTunes had automatically downloaded.
For example, I'm just listening to my "Ultra Dance 02" album on my iPod. I remember that after ripping, iTunes incorrectly added album art for "Ultra.iDance 05". I fixed that by select-all, get-info, and drag-and-dropping the correct art. After syncing with my iPod, all songs show the correct "Ultra Dance 02" artwork, except for track 6, which still shows "Ultra.iDance 05"
What's going on? How do I ensure that the changes that I make stick? And how do I fix such an error?
Also, is there a way to associate album art with a whole album, rather than each song individually?
    -Ron.

Even if iTunes recognized it, you cannot use iTunes to transfer from iPod to computer (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store). You need to use a third-party program. Here is an article on that topic.

However, if your hard drive's data is in bad shape, it may be difficult to recover all of your songs files.
Note: The hard drive may have data corruption, but the iPod may work better after you use the Restore button in iTunes. The Restore process erases the iPod and initializes the iPod's software. It won't fix a hardware problem if the drive is becoming faulty. But it may fix the problem if it is only data corruption.

  • IPad doesn't display correct album art

I could really use some help here, I am at the end of my rope.  I have HomeSharing on so that my iPads and iPhones will play music and movies from our iTunes library.  I have an iPhone 5, an iPhone 4S, an iPad 4 and (2) iPad 2 models.  Both iPhones and the iPad 4 will display the correct album art in the movies but the iPad 2's scramble up the album art.  For instance on the iPad 4 shows the Aladdin album art where it says Aladdin is but on the iPad 2 (both of them) it will display random album art.  So you'll be looking at a picture of Bug's Life but the line states that the movie is Aladdin.  Now when you select that movie and it enters the info page where the play button is, the album art comes up correctly.  It's just in the title screen or selection screen this happens.  Then to add to that, the music and music videos all displays fine, the correct album art every time.  For some reason, this is only happening in the movies.  And again, only happening on the iPad 2's.  There is no issue with the newer iPad or the iPhones.  So is this a setting that is goofed?  A software issue that I can't resolve?  I would appreciate any input you can provide, especially if you can help me fix this!!
FYI, the iPad 2's are my daughter's so I have the PG restriction on making sure that they can't watch anything PG-13 or over.  Although it won't display a PG-13 or over movie, it will display the album art (for instance it will show Hills Have Eyes instead of Aladdin although the text shows Aladdin and again, if you click on it the correct album art shows Aladdin in the info screen).  I thought maybe the restrictions were the problem so I shut them off but that didn't resolve the issue.

Me Too. Glad to hear I'm not alone in this...
I can't explain it. All my songs show the correct art in iTunes but it's often mismatched on the Nano. I've noticed that selecting a problem track in iTunes, get info and clicking "ok" on the already correct art, sometimes corrects the issue (for that one track) on the Nano after the next sync.. but not always.
p.s. Other posts say "restore" is the answer. I'll try that tonight.

  • ****FIX **** update to 7.0 - Album Art problem- Disable/ReEnable failed

I have a 30gb videopod and updated to version 7. I too was experiencing problems with some tracks not showing recently added album art.
I tried disabling and re-enabling album art on both my powerbook and xp computer and which lead to no album art was showing at all. Disabled and re-enabled numerous times and couldn't get any album art to show.
In Windows, I resolved my issue by removing version 7.0 and installing back version 6.05. Fired up 6.05, Disabled and re-enabled album art and all my album art was back on my ipod. *Sigh of relief of not restoring ipod"
**if you get this message after re-installing an older of iTunes:

marx23 - your tip worked great!! I re-installed iTunes 6.0.5 with the desktop trick. Unchecked, checked, and finally - album art is back up and running on my iPod.
When I updated to iTunes 7.0 I lost album art display on 7000 songs that probably took me 100+ hours to associate. After I got iTunes 7.0 I spent over 3 hours surfing the discussion boards and Apple's tips and trying different things. All the tricks with the check box, uncheck box, eject, repeat while using iTunes 7.0 didn't work. Finally I went back to iTunes 6.0.5.
Thank you so much for the tip!
Hope everybody else finds your post, it's great!!!!!

  • Why does iTunes display the same album art for different songs, but from the same artist?

    Hi,
a couple of days ago I decided I wanted all of my songs to have an album art. Before I didn't actually care, but since I discovered the view mode with the album arts at the top (the fourth one) I began searching for the right arts, since I like it this way.
I've stumbled upon a problem though. When I add two or more songs from the same artist, iTunes chooses to assign the same album art to the songs. It chooses the album art of the song I added first to my music library. How do I get it to show the proper album art?
I use a program called 'Mp3Tag' to change all the information of my songs. When it's just a single, I end up having an 'artist', 'title', 'genre' and 'cover'. The rest of the information doesn't bother me. With albums I add more information though.
    Here's an example:
I added two songs, one being 'Usher - Climax (Kaskade Remix)' and the other one being 'Usher - Scream'. The one added first was 'Scream'. As you can see below, iTunes somehow assigns the same album art to both songs, while clicking on 'get info' clearly shows the songs have different album arts.
    I discovered something else though:
When adding an 'album name' to the songs, they will show properly, as seen below. The thing is though, I don't want to add an album name. When I sync the songs to my iPod, my 'albums' list will show all of the songs as well, which I don't want.
Is there any way to solve this another way where iTunes won't sort by album, but by song title?
    Thanks in advance.

Can anyone please answer my question?

  • Album Art Visualizer-like Jewelcase but able to handle 2 pieces of art/song

Can anyone point me toward an Album Art Visualizer that can show FRONT AND BACK album art? (ie: for songs to which you've attached 2 pieces of album art, rather than just one.)
Most "album art" shareware is designed to import album art, but I am not interested in importing. I am interested specifically in ALBUM ART VISUALIZERS -- such as JEWELCASE 1.8 by Optical Alchemy. Most "visualizers" show trippy stuff, which is fine, but I'm interested in visualizers that show the relevant album art that you've taken the pains to attach to your song files in iTunes(!)
Note that Jewelcase is *unbelieveably great*, but it could be improved upon. (Yes, I've donated to the tip jar, and I've mentioned these ideas to the designers, and I'm sure they have more lucrative things to try to do with their time-- since Apple has inexplicably NOT purchased Jewelcase's technology from Audio Alchemy -- something that would, for the legions of iTunes users worldwide, mark such a huge visual improvement over the current iTunes, that the point cannot be overstated).
Has anyone seen anything else that either uses the iTunes Visualizer section to visualize your album artwork -OR- that shows the album art & song info in a different window -- either way -- but, in a manner that is in the same league of quality as Jewelcase? (Or even close, or even pretty neat?)
Again, I am looking for ALTERNATIVES TO JEWELCASE, but also I am looking for a program that improves upon Jewelcase, in terms of:
    1) showing not just the one "first" piece of album art associated with each song (as the "front" album art), but that also has the ability to show the "second" piece of album art associated with the song -- as the "back" album art; and:
    2) visually presenting, along with "Artist" and "Album", more song tag data -- SPECIFICALLY "YEAR".
Note that there are a couple of shareware programs that give you a small window with merely a small 1" by 1" (?) display of the album art next to the Artist/Time info. That is fine, but I am looking for something that displays the art at much larger sizes, like up to 10" by 10" on your screen (like Jewelcase 1.8 does), while you are playing your playlists/shuffling through your songs. This can make for a magnificent Album Art Slideshow, by the way.
Basically, I'm very fond of Jewelcase, but would like to know if anyone has seen any other such GREAT visualizers of album art. NOTE: My iTunes album art is complete/done, and I want to steer very clear of any "album art" shareware that just so happens to come with automatic album art scripts that will try to import some dang JPEGs from someplace.

  • Where did the album art display go?

In iTunes 10.6 for Windows, the album art display in the Library column is gone. I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to put it back. For clarity's sake, I'm talking about the thumbnail at the bottom left corner, right under Playlists – the one that shows 'now-playing' album art or videos. What (hopefully simple) procedure am I missing, or otherwise doing wrong?
    Thanks!

  • Album art on nano messed up

hey my friends iPod nano sometimes shows the wrong album art on the iPod...for example she will be playing a Linkin Park song, and the album art will be something else (e.g. one time it showed Dane Cook instead) and i was jus wondering wha's wrong.... imean the album art is correct on itunes, but usually the same songs show messed up album art, and it is never a full album, it is usually one or two songs off of an album, while the rest of that album is correct......
thanks ahead of time for any help

Restore the iPod and reload the songs from iTunes.
See: How to restore the iPod to factory settings.

  • Get Album Art option,

If the album art already exists this does nothing. is it possible to overwrite the existing album art by deafult?

There is an easy way to overwrite and choose new album art for albums in iTunes, Here's how:
    1. Download the image you want to use as album art.
    2. Open iTunes and select ALL the songs in the album you want to change the art for.
    3. with all of the album's songs selected, right click on any one of them and click "Get info"
    4. you'll be asked wheather you want ot change info for multiple items, say yes.
    5. on the window that appears, double click on the square box next to where it says "Album art"
    6. in the file selection window that opens, find and select the graphic that you want to use as the album art, and click open.
    7. making sure that the grahpic that you chose is showing in the album art box, click ok to exit back into iTunes.
    8. Wait fo ra short processing screen to load, then you album art should be changed!
Good luck, I hope this helped!
