Moving a folder in Photoshop Elements 6

How can I move a folder from an existing catalog to a newly created catalog?

Multiple catalogs are usually not a good idea.
There are no functions that work from one catalog to another in PSE. There fore, you cannot move a folder from one catalog to another.
The best you could do is import all the photos into the new catalog (importing into a second catalog, by the way, loses whatever information might be associated with these photos in the first catalog) and then delete from the first catalog.
Or better yet, just don't have multiple catalogs. Use other PSE tools (tags, captions, notes) to segregate your photos.

  • Can I add a third party filter (ASFROC) to the filter sub-folder of Photoshop Elements 13?

I have been using a third party filter (Applied Science fiction R-O-C (now Kodak)) with Photoshop elements 9.  After upgrading to Elements 13 I would like to continue using the ASFROC plug-in filter.  Can I just add it to the Filter sub-folder in Elements 13?

I believe the problem is those filters are 32 bit filters and you most likely have the 64 bit version of photoshop elements 13.
The 64 bit version of pse 13 requires 64 bit filters, so you wouldn't be able to use the Kodak filters in pse 13
Which operating system are you using?
If windows, is your windows system 32 or 64 bit?
(the mac version of pse 13 is always 64 bit)

  • Cannot find the plug-ins folder for photoshop elements 6

    Hi,
I was trying to update the plug-in for camera raw for PE6, downloaded the update however in the instructions it tells me to go to the root folder in Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CS3/File Formats and replace the camera raw plug in.
there is no plug-ins folder in the library/application support/adobe folder. Is there somewhere else I should be looking ?
I am running a Mac with yosemite.
    thanks in advance,

You are probably in the wrong library. You have three libraries on your mac: your username>library, system>library (never mess with that one), and the library at the top level of your hard drive, which is the one you want. It's not exactly hidden, but it's very hard to get to. The easiest way is to go to the Finder preferences>sidebar>show these items in the sidebar,  and turn on Hard disks. Then when you open a new finder window, you will see your hard drive in the list on the left side of the window. Click it and the library will be at the top level of results on the right side of the window.

  • Lost folder in Photoshop elements

I saved my pictures after manipulating them in PE10 in a separate folder and not in Orgnaizer and now the folder doesnt show up anywhere. I tried to find it via Finder but no results. How can i find this folder on a Mac? I already tried Mac help service, but they could not help, only recommended to turn to Adobe.
    Thanks,

    See if that helps you:

  • Adobe Actions in Photoshop elements

I have recently acquired a program that was originally designed on Adobe Photoshop.
I am using Adobe Photoshop Elements, bot most features are included
One difference is that Photosop Element does not have an 'action button' to load the action script.
However, I have copied these in manually
    Action Taken
    a) Installed graphic program into c:\Program Files\graphic program
    b) Opened the Action Script Folder and copied all the Action Scripts files
    c) c:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\presets\Photoshop Actions\
    d) Pasted all the action scripts that I copied from the Action Script Folder
    So Far So Good
Opened Photoshop Elements : They have a file browser button. From here I can browse to :-
    c:\program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\presets\Photoshop Actions\
But I cannot load any templates or activate the program
Can anyone advise on this please
    Brian

    Hi Barbara,
    Thanks for your response
I am using Photoshop Elements 2.0 and the third party program in question is "eCoverGo"
    http://www.ecovers-go.com/
As mentioned it was designed for Adobe Photoshop and required all the files to be placed in the photoshop action folder.
Photoshop Elements does not have an action feature, but I followed their procedure and copied all the files into the Elements/photoshop actions folder OK. But there is no way to load these files into Photoshop Elements.
I have asked how they activate these files in photoshop, and received the following
"copy the shortcut into the relevant directory (depending on which version of Photoshop), then I go to the actions window and select the action.
Select the first step and press the play button, modify the image created, and then run step 2 and step 3.
I can also double click an action in its folder and it will open in Photoshop."
The problem is' Photoshop Elements does not have an 'Actions Window' and the second is, after double clicking on an action in it's folder, Photoshop opens and I'm back to square one!!"
I realise that I may be whistling in the Wind, and no way take the program developer to task, because it has been designed for Adobe Photoshop and not Photshop Elements.
And it defeats the whole exercise by purchasing Adobe Photoshop for the sake of getting a low budget program to work, when Photoshop Elements suit my requirements at the moment
Once again, thanks for your interest Barbara, but don't drive
yourself crazy. If it wont work in Elementsthen it wont work!
    Best regards
    Brian

  • PhotoShop Elements 6 for Mac under Snow Leopard?

Hi. Apple's new operating system for Mac, Snow Leopard is being released tomorrow.
According to the Snow Leopard wiki, Photoshop Elements 6 does not work under Snow Leopard:
    http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/
I contacted Adobe to ask if they had any plans to update Photoshop Elements 6 to work with Snow Leopard.  The response I got from their support was that Adobe Photoshop Elements was programmed before Snow Leopard and so they weren't responsible if it didn't work.
I am pissed because of course Photoshop Elements was programmed before Snow Leopard.  EVERY software program was. Most of my software (and I have a lot of apps) are being updated for Snow Leopard by their developers.
I'm writing this post just to make sure that Photoshop Elements doesn't work under Snow Leopard. It's possible whoever posted that Photoshop Elements didn't work under Snow Leopard could have been having an isolated problem.
So, if anyone tries Photoshop Elements with Snow Leopard, please post here whether or not it works.
    Thanks a lot.
    Mirskyman

No, there are no significant known conflicts with Snow Leopard, so that's not your problem. Have you deleted prefs since the upgrade? Was this an upgrade in place rather than an erase install? If so, go to your username>library>preferences and delete:
    com.adobe.Photoshop.Elements.plist
Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 Paths Folder
Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 Settings Folder
    Opera preferences
repair permissions and see if it's any better. Do you have any third party content installed in PSE? There may well be conflicts with that, if so.

  • Photoshop Elements 6.0 / Editing using 'Adjust Sharpness'

After making the adjustments i.e., amount, radius, remove with Enhance>Adjust Sharpness and visually looking at the edits being applied to the image, when I then click OK, there's a few seconds of hesitation to apply the edits then the image will inexplicably convert back to be being unsharp instead of being visually sharp as it was during the adjustment. Why is the image not applying the sharpness changes as it does when I use 'Unsharp Mask'?
    Using Mac OS X 10.6.2.

    Barbara B>,
Appreciate, once again your quick response but my question now is where do I go to find / username>library>preferences? Is this in my Finder for my iMac or is this found in PSE? Did you mean to delete just 'Repair permissions' or all that was listed after your semicolon ?
    com.adobe.Photoshop.Elements.plist
Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 paths folder
Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 settings folder
    Opera preferences
    Thanx for your patience.

  • Can I download tutorial images for Adobe Photoshop Elements 2 online?

Can I download tutorial images for Adobe Photoshop Elements 2 online?

I'm not sure which images your referring to, unless you mean the ones referenced in the pse 2 help under Photoshop Elements 2.0 Tutorials
(or some that may have been available thru the pse 2 updater)
In the folder that photoshop elements 2 installs into, there are some Samples and Tutorial folders with some of those files.
On a windows machine look in either
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 2
    or
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 2
Also, on the pse 2 install cd, there are some images in the Goodies>Stock Art folder

  • Why are my photos on recently downloaded Photoshop Elements 13, shown as touching their neighbours both above, below and at sides, and in effect have become a wall of photos! What has gone wrong?

I have recently downloaded Photoshop Elements 13 as an upgrade to PSE 8 which I have run for a year or two. Whenever I add photos to PSE 13, they appear as normal except that there is no space around each individual entry and all photos are crammed together and appear as a wall of photos. Why is this? What has gone wrong?

  • Uninstalling old components of Photoshop Elements

I recently purchased and installed Photoshop Elements 12. I then ran the uninstaller for Photoshop Elements 10, but it did not uninstall Photoshop Elements 10 Organzer. Why did that happen and how do I unistall it. I do not use the organizer.
Also, I discovered that I have a folder of plugins for Photoshop Elements 9. However, inside that folder are current dated plugins that I use in Photoshop Elements 12. If I drag that folder to the trash, will I be deleting my current plugins?
    Thank you.

    Hi Jeff,
Thank you for tackling this for me. I will try to answer your questions in sufficient detail to give you the information that you need to help me.
My computer with this issue is a MacPro Desktop using Mac OS X Lion Version 10.7.5.
To uninstall PHOTOSHOP Elements 10 I opened my computer's hard drive icon, then I opened the Applications folder and within that I am pretty sure that I opened a folder titled Adobe Photoshop Elements 10. Within that folder I remember seeing and clicking on Uninstall. It did uninstall Photoshop Elements 10 but it did not uninstall the folder labelled Adobe Elements 10 Organizer.
I'm wondering if the reason why it did not uninstall the Organizer is because I also have, and do not want to uninstall, Adobe PREMIERE Elements 10. Does Premiere use the same organizer as Photoshop Elements? If so, that would explain why that did not uninstall and why I should not uninstall the Organizer now. Please advise.
Also, within my Applications folder I also found a folder labelled Adobe Photoshop Elements 9. However, the only thing in that folder is another folder labelled Plug-Ins. Those plug-ins (Google -- formerly known as Nik) seem to be the exact same ones that I now use in Photoshop Elements 12. The dates of the various subfolders are between Oct. and Dec. of this year -- which is years after I stopped using Photoshop Elements 9. I don't want to install the plug-ins from Photoshop Elements 12. There is a folder with those same plug-ins within my folder from Photoshop Elements 12. When I update those plug-ins, does the updater look for those plug-ins wherever they are? That would explain why current versions of the plug-ins are also in a folder that is no longer associated with a program (Photoshop Elements 9 no longer seems to be on my computer.
I hope that I have not confused the issues. If you need further clarification before you can give me answers that you have confidence in, please let me know.
Also, and this is completely unrelated, I will be taking delivery of a new MacBook Pro Retina this evening. I must install Photoshop Elements 12 and the same Nik/Google plug-ins on it. I phoned Apple and, despite what I've been reading on the forums about no version of Photoshop Elements working satisfactorily with MacBook Pro Retinas due to screen issues, the senior Apple technician told me that he is running Photoshop Elements 12 on his MacBook Pro Retina and it works fine. Before I install it, can you give me any advice?
    Thank you.

  • How to load/install textures in Photoshop Elements 12?

    Hi all,
How can I load/install textures (not patterns!) in the "Quick" mode of Photoshop Elements 12?
I have tried to copy a texture in the folder "Adobe\Photoshop Elements 12\Required\quickEdit\textures" but it does not appears between the textures in the Quick mode...

You can do it in Expert mode but need to have your texture saved as a PSD file. Then open the image you want to apply the texture to which makes the Filter menu active.
Click Filter >> Texture >> Texturizer
When the Texturizer dialog open you should see a tiny menu icon (four small lines) to the right of the Texture drop-down list. Click on the menu icon and choose Load Texture; then navigate to your saved PSD file, select it and click open. It won’t appear as a thumbnail but will be available in the drop-down list. You can apply it to your open image and use the scaling and relief sliders etc to adjust the effect.
Alternatively if your texture is a jpeg simply add it as a layer rather than worry about importing it to the filter library. Just open your main image and texture image in Expert mode (they will both appear in the photo bin) and click on the main image so that it shows in the Editor space. Then click on the texture image in the photo bin and drag it up and drop it on top of the main image. Go to the layers pallet and change the blend mode to overlay. You can experiment with other blend modes and change opacity until you get the effect you like.

  • Sudden power shutdown while uninstalling Photoshop elements 11

Hey all! I just was trying out the trial of Photoshop 11 and then I uninstalled it. White it was getting uninstalled, my PC's power got shut down, I mean the electricity went off. It was like half uninstalled when the PC lost the power. The desktop icons and start menu icons went. I manually deleted the whole folder "Adobe Photoshop Elements 11". I guess there are a lot of things to be uninstalled again, isn't it? The registry entries and stuff. So please tell me how to do it.
    Thanks,
    Amal

    Hi,
    That's more than one question
Yes, some files are installed in Common Files and they have to be there if you are running elements - they cannot be located elsewhere. That document I referred to does mention which ones can be removed. The other files it installs in other places are things like the catalog and user preferences.
As for fonts, elements uses whatever fonts you have installed in the Windows system, it doesn't install it's own ones. If you remove any fonts, they become unavailable to any application, including CS. I would generally avoid removing fonts unless I know that I installed them for a reason. Even your browser uses some of those fonts.
Unfortunately, installing and then uninstalling products can often leave unwanted files around. That is why some people occasionally do a cold build of the operating system and then install only the applications that they want. However, that has dangers if you are not careful. In general it is best to leave alone unless the files are causing a problem.

  • No direct access to Photomerge in Photoshop Elements 12 from Lightroom 5.2

    Hi,
I just installed PE12 on my IMac (OS 10.8.5) and can not access directly the Photomerge module from Lightroom 5.2: the corresponding menu lines are inactive (dark grey).
On the other hand, I cant open the files in Elements from LR, and once there, the Photomerge module works properly.
    Can anybody help?
    Thanks
    JM

    Hi JM
Launch LR and on the top menu go to:
Lightroom >> Preference >> External Editing
Under Additional External Editor click the Choose button and make sure you navigate to the application and not an alias for the welcome screen.
    Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 12/Support Files
In the Support Files Folder choose:
    Photoshop Elements 12 Editor
Then select images in the Lightroom Library and use Cmd+E selecting either PSD or Tiff + Lightroom Develop Adjustments. Also choose 8 bits and not 16 bits as PSE has very little functionality with 16 bit images.

  • If I edit a photo in Photoshop Elements, I can't seem to re-import it back into Lightroom. If I open the relevant folder on my Mac the image is present, but Lightroom just doesn't "see" it at all.

For some reason, my (Mac) Lightroom 5 won't recognise images in folders on my Mac that I've edited in either Photoshop Elements or Perfect Effects 8. If I've previously imported images from a specific folder, Lightroom will show these as greyed-out images (as normal) but will not show other images I've subsequently saved in that folder. Similarly, if I, say, select three images from Lightroom to use the Photomerge option in Elements, the subsequent saved image won't be recognised by Lightroom.
I've tried moving locations, saving in umpteen different formats etc., but the problem persists. No problem importing existing images from either SD card or old folders on the computer.
    It's very frustrating!

Ah-Ha! Right, think I've worked out the problem!
When I save a photo from Photoshop, I often place it on the desktop with a view to e-mailing it or posting it somewhere on the internet. I've just looked at the file that was supposedly saved as a .psd, but under "properties" it has no file extension. So I added the .psd and bingo, up it popped in the LR import window! I've since gone into Photoshop preferences & ticked it to add a file extension. That's really odd - I've never deselected that option but, hey ho, mystery solved.
Many thanks for your patience Mr Paige, I should have looked at this before. Put it down to advancing senility...
