Moving a jpeg freely - can't be done
I copied and then pasted a jpeg fom a different file and folder into a blank Pages document. I cannot freely move the jpeg. it also looks like the left side and the top of the jpeg - the actual handles are grayed out --- I can only move it by the space bar with the cursor prior to the jpeg.
i tried everything and I tried to search for some 'lock' that may be on in the App., but notta. any clue how to be able to move or even center. The center is grayed out to. Weird!!!

Select the object, click on the Wrap inspector (3rd from left), then click on Fixed On Page. Now it should move freely around the page.
The reason this happens is because your cursor was in the text layer when you inserted the graphic. So the graphic moves with the text. To prevent that, turn on Show Layout, click in the margin area, and insert the graphic -- it will automatically be inserted as Fixed on Page.

Hi,
Both of those cameras should be supported by PSE 12.
Just open the NEF file in the editor. It will first load the camera raw where you can do some adjustment.
When satisfied, make sure that the bit depth option is set to 8 bits/channel (bottom middle of camera raw window).
Click on Open Image to open the image in the main editor window.
Make any further adjustments you want to and then go to the File menu and select Save As
Change the format to JPEG, change the name if you want to and then click on Save.
You can adjust the quality on the next box (higher quality = larger file)
If you get a message about unsupported file format, it could be that you have use the old Nikon transfer program to copy the images from the card to your hard drive. This is knoow to cause corruption. See the following for a tool to correct the files.

At this moment, that's correct. The OS X license included with a Mac can only be used with that Mac. However, in the case the OP has purchased OS X Mountain Lion in the past, this may change -

When I work with a drive to boot many computers, I use the newest model computer I will be booting, and set the system up on that, run all the Apple updates. Normally I will have no issue booting any older computer with the same drive. Unless of course those older computers do not support the operating system on that drive.
If you want to test if the drive will boot the mac mini. Put your MacBook Pro into target mode. Connect the two computers together. And on the Mac Mini, go into system preferences and then under start up disk and see if the target disk mode computer's drive shows up there. Seelct that drive and restart. See if it boots ok. A bit easier then taking the drives out and moving things around. -

Your next step is, create a new web application and deattach the content DB from new web application. You need to attach existing CDB to that web app.

The scroll bar (the one used to scroll up and down any kind of website), that is normally in the right part of the firefox browser, would be of much help to me if it could sometimes be moved to the left part of the browser. Is this possible? How can it be done? Can anybody tell me the exact steps to take in order to do this (if it is possible of course)? This would be helpfull to me, since I think that the firefox scroll bar is overlaping the scroll part of the facebook chat sidebar, since I just can see a few people on this facebook chat sidebar and I can´t scroll along it, as I could a while ago. So my guess is that the firefox scroll bar is covering the other. In order to solve it in a simpler way, I guessed that if the firefox scroll bar could be moved to the left side of the browser, this problem could be solved. So, can anybody help me?

I have tried and failed to copy my iTunes library and playlists from my Windows 8 desktop to my Windows 7 laptop using an external hard drive. Can it be done? Help would be appreciated. I have followed instructions found online but the library of music doesn't pull in. Thanks!
NateMigrate an iTunes library from one computer to another
These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entireiTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one, with ratings, play counts, playlists etc. preserved. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd normally recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library and unlike copying with Windows Explorer the process can be resumed if it is interrupted and it will continue to the next item if there are any read/access errors.
Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See Make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then seeRecover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

Have gone into my snyc data file to erase all data - error says that it can not be done at this time. I still have the error while syncing on my bar. Have tried to get a new sync number and that will not change - it goes back to the original how can I start over and try again?
This "original file cannot be found" thing happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

Help creating a XA Format CD - Can this be done on my Power Mac G5?
Going way back to Performa 6320 series I was able to read CD-XA Format CDs. Such as older video game system discs. Back in 1994 I started to create data backups with .bin and mp3 files of the games. (saves space)
In 1997 I had a serious apartment fire and lost many, many original CDs and LPs and more. My Apple survived the fire and was able to give me a bit more use until 1998. When I moved to a G3. Even my G3 was able to read XA format CDs.
Well the Superdrive that had came with my PowerMac G5 will not read it properly. (never has) If I place an original Sega CD or Playstation 1 CD all I get is 2 mounted cd images. This is good but, removing data for saving backup is not the way it used to be since OS X arrived.
Now, I have no more Performa, G3 or classic OS9. I have to figure a way to create the CD backups I have lost over 12 years ago. I need to know how to make a CDR [80min/700MB] with a .BIN file and .AIF files. Can it be done with Disk Utility? Can it be done in TOAST 10? If so, how. I want to save old memories and more. Any help in easy terms would be great!

Does iWeb place a limit on size of jpeg that can be uploaded to server? I'm placing large mb jpeg files and they are showing up on web as kb files. My provider does not put any size limit on what I upload. Is it iWeb?
Here is the problem, I've done this, set the right settings in iWeb as indicated above and yet the images are still small images. Is there a cache in iWeb that may need to be cleaned out or a setting somewhere messing me up.
I normally put web size images however for this one album I need them to be full size.
Any other help full suggestions? I appreciate all your help. I'm guessing there is something simple I'm missing. -
Demo & Video - Can this be done?
My client would like to have a captivate demo of their
software on the right side of the screen, while on the left there
is video of a manager explaining the demo.

Can this be done with just Captivate? From what I can tell
your recording has to be the full size of your project. If not,
anyone know what tools could be used to do this? I assume Flash,
but would imagine the difficulty would be getting the demo and the
video to be in sync.
Any suggestions/thoughts are very appreciated.

imagination and another little Adobe product called Visual
Communicator.

Basically, you would record the demonstration at the smaller
size. Then you would create a larger Captivate presentation that
would hold the whole thing. You would then have the basic
demonstration occurring in the left side of the screen as your
image shows. Now for the fun part. You would use Visual
Communicator to record many smaller video segments that describe
what is occurring over on the left side of the screen. Once
recorded, you would produce them as .FLV files and insert them onto
the Captivate slides as needed.
I suppose you may be able to also work the other way around.
Create the Captivate projects and insert them into Visual
Communicator. Not sure if it supports that quite yet, but may be
interesting.

I have 220 photos on my camera to be downloaded to Lightroom. I want to organize them in 6 different folders. Can this be done? I need instructions to do this.
You cannot direct a single Copy Import operation from your card into multiple folders, but you can either import multiple times, selecting different photos each time from the Import grid, and specifying a different destination, or you can import everything into one folder, then use drag-and-drop in LR with different selections of photos into various folders you create within LR’s Library module folder panel. As long as you do the folder creating and photo moving within LR then LR will know where the photos have been moved to.
What I do is move the photos into multiple folders on the card, itself, outside of LR, using Explorer’s thumbnail previews to guide me, then drag-and-drop those folders to their final destination on my hard drive still outside of LR, then do an Add Import, by dragging and dropping those folders onto LR Library’s central area, so that’s another way. -
What happened to the power search option? Has it been deleted or has it been moved and I just can't find it.
you haven't lost anything, it's virtually impossible to delete your Zotero library by accident.
You may just need to show your add-on bar (View --> Toolbars ---> Add on Bar).
To check if Zotero is disabled, go to Tools--> Add-ons --> Extensions.
Make sure to check for Zotero updates, you may need the newest version (2.1.10) for FF6 compatibility.
As a general piece of advice, if technical problems make you frantic, don't perform major software upgrades in the middle of a project. Also, support for Zotero is better on the Zotero forums than here. -
Specialized titles: Can it be done in Premiere?
I'm editing a project for a friend... he had a concept for titles that involves the titles coming towards the screen (kind of the inverse of the 'Star Wars' main title). I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. Can it be done with the title tool in Premiere?
Sure, the thing I was missing was that I was not selecting "scale" in the "transform" effects window to place the key frames at. Once I got that I could set different scale sizes for different key frames.
So:
1) Create the title
2) Apply "transform" effect to title
3) Go into effects controls for transform effect
4) Open up transform options and select scale so you can set key frames for a scaling effect.
5) Place a key frame on the first frame of the title and the last.
6) Scale the first key fame small, and the last key frame large, so the title gets bigger (or has the effect of coming towards the screen). If you wanted something just like Star Wars you set the first key frame large and the last key frame small so it is moving away from the screen. -
If you can't deliver, don't promise! Late phone line activation
So I moved into a new flat and ordered sky broadband where I spoke to some very helpful advisors on the phone and everything was paid for swiftly. Setting up and paying couldn't have gone more smoothly and I was very impressed with the service.
However...I was told with complete assurance that I would receive my router on Tuesday 30th June (yesterday) and I would be up and running by Wednesday 1st July.
It was only despatched yesterday (rather than Friday which I was told) and having checked 'Tracked my order' it suddenly says my phone line won't be active until 7th July.
I've already rung Sky and they said its out of their control for when the phone line gets activated and they give an estimated date which 9/10 is right.
My complaint here is if its NOT a definite date then why tell tour customers that it DEFINITELY will be up by a certain date if you can't actually guarantee it? I have exceeded my mobile data now thinking I would have home internet by today (1st July) but now having to pay for more data as I've been trying to sort out
A) why the router was despatched late
B) why on earth the phone line won't be active until a week after the promised date
I understand part B is out of sky's control, however I feel that if you can't guarantee the activation date, do not lie to your customers and tell them it will definitely be ready! I would have rather you say that it will probably be ready on this date, however there is a small chance it may be a week or so later.
I am much displeased with being lied to, and as such am now being charged for using mobile data as I expected to have my broadband up and running by today. But now I have to wait a week whilst running up even more charges on my phone for necessary reasons I.e not checking fb
I hope you take my advice into consideration and stop giving your customers false hope when you cannot deliver what you tell me with 100% assurance.*have reposted under phone and line rental topic but can't find how to delete this post*
