Moving a page in PAGES

HELP !! The new PAGES does not allow you to move a completed page to another part of the document.
This is fine if it just a text box that needs to be moved, but if you create an elborate ad, for example, this is a bit problem.

Welcome to the brave new world of Pages 5.
This is just one of almost 100 features removed by Apple.
Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.

Deleting/Moving Wiki Pages

When deleting a page, if there's a replacement, put a redirect in to the replacement, not "(candidate for deletion)".
To put in a redirect, replace the contents of the page with:
#REDIRECT [[page linking to]]
This helps stop broken links, and will make sure people find what they are looking for.
If you are moving a page, dont make a new page and copy paste, use the 'move this page' link at the bottom, as it automatically creates a redirect.
Just noticed this now, as someone had busted up the link on http://aur.archlinux.org/index.php to the TU guidelines. I've fixed it with a redirect now. I know you might think fixing the aur is the solution, but we cant fix every link out there, so redirects are preferable over deletion.

Its also possible to get a general idea of what links there are to a page across the web using the google link operator (search for "link:http://path.to/some/page.ext"). I doubt there are a lot of links into the Arch Wiki outside the wiki and these forums; I think its ok to remove obscure redirects, such as misspellings. It would only be when moving popular or important pages that you really have to worry, including pages that are deliberately designed to be linked from outside the wiki.

Moving the Page Count Icon?

Is there a way of moving the page count either to the left or right? Furthermore, I would like to add a page count like the one in google so that users can click on page 4 or 11 for example rather than having to click 4 times to get to page 4. Hope this
makes sense.

Where do you want to put the page count ?
I assume that you want to put the page count on a page with a data view web part or a content query web part .These web parts will not show the current page by default .You can edit the page in designer to add the page count .

Suddenly my Firefox app changed. When I am on Facebook it CONSTANTLY asks if I want to change pages, even if I am just browsing a picture album. And I have trouble comments or moving among pages. The Link buttons appear to be inactive.

I get a grey box every time I click on anything in games or picture albums, or moving among applications, asking me if I want to change pages. I went to Tools/Options/and made sure I had the "warn me when sites want to redirect me" turned off, and "load pages automatically" checked. Also, the links for comment seem to be inactive. I click on links and nothing happens. It works fine on Explorer so I am thinking something about Firefox is wrong.

Tabs not moving from Pages to ePub

My Pages doc moved to ePub, and then my iPad great... except there's no tabs. Every new paragraph starts flush left.

Ahhh that's what you are after.
Yes you will need tabs, or have you tried en or em spaces? I think Pages' ePub "solution" is going to kill either as they really need hand encoding.
I can only suggest you search for explicitly ePub software:

This is starting to look much like Apple's previous html feature in Pages. Basically useless until users cottoned on, then it was removed.

How to avoid Moved Temporarily page

Hi,
In my app, I use jsp with servelet, and the servelet acts as the "traffic cop", that is, the users fill up the form in jsp pages, and the jsp pages are submitted (post) to this servelet, this servlet do some work by calling other helper class and get the next jsp page to present, and use response.sendRedirect(page). The problem is the "sendRedirect" method, some user complain that they submit the form and got a page says "The document you reqested has moved temporarily" and there is a link, after the user clisk the link, it got the right page, and do another submit for next step, the same thing happed aggain.
I checked the log file, the form post returns 302 code, and the next page (redirected by sendRedirect method) is invoked as GET and returns 200.
what can I do to avoid the problem some user has by presenting the page directly?

If you use "forward" instead of "redirect" that won't happen. It might even be a better design, since redirecting displays a URL in the browser's address bar that the client can use to go directly to the JSP instead of through your traffic cop.

INDESIGN CRASHES WHEN ADDING, MOVING, DELETING PAGES

My Mac is 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7, Software OS X Version 10.9.3.
I am a ADOBE CREATIVE CLOUD user.
Each time I try to add, move or delete page indesign crashes. I tried to save as the file with a different name, moved the content to a new document, exported as IDML...etc. but it nothing works.

When moving a page from one pdf to another I see a message "consolidating fonts" and the added page does not view properly

I am working with multiple PDF files in Acrobat Pro XI. Sometimes when I move a page from one PDF to another it does not view properly. It was fine in the source PDF, but not when moved to the desired PDF. I also see a message momentarily across the bottom of my screen that says "consolidating fonts". What must I do to fix this?

Follow these steps for Acrobat 11 .
Launch Acrobat>Tools>Print Production>Acrobat Distiller
Now in Acrobat Distiller follow these.
Select Standard in Default settings.
Go to Settings and select Edit Adobe PDF Settings.
Select Fonts and in the font source window select the fonts you want to Add.
Click Save As and then OK.

Placement of datamerge boxes and moving master page items

You helped me with my data merge problem earlier. Now I have successfully brought my excel info into Indesign with datamerge but I can't seem to get the multiple boxes to sit on my page, they are grouped together to the left and down from my page.
Also I've used master pages to create a header and footer for each page and the left hand page behaves as it should, but the objects on the rh master page appear lower and to the right of where they should be. I've attached a screenshot so you can see what I mean. It's a bit hard to see the rh page header, but it should be similar to the lh page. I'm using CS6.

After a bunch of trials and errors I think I've done the multiple records correctly. Just had an A4 page with nothing on it except the one text box and with no master pages - I changed to facing pages and did the master pages after I'd done the data merge.
It seems odd to me that the header and footer on the lh page is correct but not on the rh page when they've been made the same way.
I've just gone through my whole document and moved all the text boxes to where they should be and if I don't come up with some remedy that's what I'll do with the rh page but I'd really like to solve this mystery as I'm so pleased with the whole data merge system that I'd like it to work 100% properly.
The overset text is not a problem as I'm going to link my text boxes to deal with text of different lengths and some fields to be deleted. I've done the data merge several times while I worked out the right size for the text box to fit my desired page format.

Mouse moves page or magnifies page when moving across page in excel

when using the mouse it suddenly moves a page, magnifies it or goes to a different screen. It is especially annoying when using Excel when you are moving from one cell to another. I have slowed the tracking speed, but this does not help. Does anyone have a solution?

Moving a page from a PDF doc to M/s Word

I have a 90 page PDF from which I need to move 1 page, a map, into a word document.
I am using win 7 & Word 2007 I have tried various approaches without any success, Can anyone advise please.

SWF flickers/flashes when moving between pages

IDCS4 export to SWF with page transitions. Not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but when I navigate between pages, the interactive items/buttons seem to flash or flicker once after each transition.
Does anyone know how to resolve? I'm building a small booklet in IDCS4. Nothing fancy about it, just a few pages that I want the viewer to be able to navigate through. The flickering is driving me nuts and I can't seem to figure out why it's happening. I've tried just about every setting, searched the net and have found nothing on the subject.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Happens with all transitions. Seems to be a bug and I've sent my notes to Adobe. Other posting can be found

Hopefully they'll fix it in the future, 'cause it's a great feature.

Problem when moving between pages

Hi all,
I have buit an interface in Flash Catalyst and imported it into FB to modify a few little things. However, when I run the application and move between the "pages" I built in Catalyst, I noticed that the pages dont reset at the top. By this I mean: if I scroll down a long page and click a "next" button, the following page wont begin at the top, it will display at the point where I scrolled to on the previous page.
Is there a way to make a resulting page start at the top like it would if it were HTML?

When i import the fxp file in to FB the pages are already built. How would I go about putting the pages in a scroller (since catalyst doesnt already do it)?
I can drag out the Scroller component, but it doesn seem as if I can build anything in it. Sorry... I am quite new to this.

Why is 'pg up/pg down' now moving the page back and forward, not scrolling like it used to?

I just updated to Firefox 4, and suddenly my 'pg up' and 'pg dn' are different. Instead of scrolling up and down like normal, they change the page to the previous page or go forward to the next.
This is really infuriating, because I use paging up and down all the time, and suddenly I don't have these functions any more. I don't want to be scrolling back and forward between web pages just by pressing one button - I can click the 'back' option at the top of the page easily enough if thats what I want.
I've had a look through the options, and searched through all the faqs, but I couldn't find anything relevant.
Please help - I want my scrolling back!

On Mac the scroll bars can be hidden and only have them show when you scroll the page so you can see the current scroll position.
The idea is that a touch pad is used that doesn't require the scroll bars to be visible and thus have more screen estate for the browsing area.
You can make the scroll bars always visible:
*System Preferences > General > Show Scroll Bar > Choose "Always"
