Moving a report to a shared folder after scheduling .

Hi,
I have a requirement that i need to move the report to a shared folder after it had scheduled. Can you please help me.
Thanks.

Well, you'd have to delete the Movies folder before you could replace it, and deleting the Movies folder would also delete its contents, thereby making the replacement impossible. It's not really surprising that the Finder was confused.
Simple solution: rename the parent folder.

    How can i get back the adobe creative cloud shared folder after I deleting it?

    I think Adobe pulled the Creative Connect Desktop app until the new CC release next month. I just built a new PC and noticed it wasn't available in the app manager any more. On my other machines it isn't working anyway. In another post Adobe devs said they new it was down because thay were working out some server issues. It looks like they couldn't resolve them.
    I bought into the CC right from the beginning since I never buy my software outright but rather use a credit card. I thought that getting the whole master suite for $30 a month interest free was a great deal. Having all the software has been great, but it was over a year before we even saw a desktop syncing folder and noe it seens as though we are going to have server problems every time they upgrade the cloud leaving us to have to use the cluncky web interface during these sync blackouts.
    I can tell you Adobe better get it together cause ther starting to p*ss off a lot of loyal customers. It feels like were dealing with a cellphone company who only gives deals to the new customers and once you've signed the contract your screwed.

  • Can not edit file on network shared folder after upgrading to windows 7

    Merry Christmas and happy new year,
    Due to some configuration changes on a specific application, I have forced to upgrade OS of a few number of workstations from Windows XP to windows 7. After upgrading I am facing a strange problem on WIN7 workstations. These workstation are member of a Windows
    2008 R2 Active Directory domain which also has a Windows 2003 advanced server additional domain controller. Also there are a number of shared folders on some member servers (all windows 2003) which are mapped as network drives at user logon. Before upgrading
    mentioned workstations to WIN7, users was able to edit his/her files on all of mapped network drive according to his/her permissions without any problem on their WINXP workstations, But after installing windows 7 they begin facing problem on one of these mapped
    network drives and the problem exactly is when they edit a file, in more specific word an excel file, and then try to save, the excel returns an error message of "document not saved" and exit the excel program. It becomes more strange when you learn
    that the edited excel file is disappeared and replace with some "tmp" file. If user copy the excel file to his/her own desktop, edit it and then copy it back to its original place on mapped network drive, it will be replaced normally with its older
    version. In other words if user wants to edit an excel file on that specific network drive, he/she must edits it somewhere else and then replace it on the network drive. If the same user uses a WINXP box, there will be no problem.
    Can anybody help me to fix the issue?
    TIA
    Bijan

    Thank you Karen,
    The problem is fixed, but my case was none of what you suggested. In fact I have
    another problem which I described in another question and it was of the root of this excel file issue. I describe what I have done to fix the latter problem hope to help fixing similar issues to mine.
    Okay, as it is described in the
    question, I was not able to open a shared folder with its UNC address while it could be mapped as a network drive without any problem. I examined what I was replied and some other ways, came to no result. I decided investigate a similar shared folder in
    permissions to problematic one to see if the problem is repeated. So I created a folder and shared it with similar permissions and examined it. Surprisingly there was no problem. It was wise to remove sharing of the problematic folder and share it again to
    see if the problem resist. But when I tried to remove sharing I received an error message saying that
    the shared folder is related to a DFS root. When I took a look at the DFS roots of domain there was no sign of the problematic folder (that made me recall that I created a DFS root with problematic folder mistakenly and removed that DFS root).
    After little searching, I found out that the problem could be caused by traces of the removed DFS root. Yep! I found the suspect! The registry key
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\DFS\Domain\problematic shared folder. I removed the key restarted DFS service and log off and on and Bingo!
    This problem pops up a few more questions:
    1) Why is not the registry key related to removed DFS root deleted from the registry of windows 2003 server?
    2) Why was I able to browse this ex-DFS root shared folder without any problem in windows XP while it was problematic in windows 7?
    3) As there is no special client service for DFS and user can access DFS root targets like other shared folders what is the deference between shared resource access mechanisms in windows XP and windows 7 that caused the problem?
    Bests,
    Bijan

  • Can't access OS X shared folder after Win 8 upgrade

    I have a Mountain Lion Mac and a Win 7 PC with folder sharing over wifi for many months. After the Win 8 upgarde last night, the Mac still can read and write the shared PC folder, but not vice versa. PC sees Mac as a network drive, but it keeps saying the user name/password is incorrect, which of course is not true. I tried deleting, changing and recreating account names/passwords on Mac, refreshing WINS setting, using IP address instead of name, remote sharing, enabling discovery, firewalls, etc., but nothing worked. Maybe a Win8 bug since Win7 worked fine? Or a security feature on OS X? Also, PC adds a domain name (the machine's name) in front of the account name (e.g. lance0406-pc\lance) which may give Mac the wrong account? I can't get rid of the domain even after changing my sign-in to the local computer. It's a home computer, so there is no domain. Any insight is helpful. Thanks.

    Same situation here... but I think it's not an Apple Issue.
    I found a problem really similar to this in 2008 with the DNS-313 and the old Leopard O.S.
    Have a look at this thread (in this thread I am "tourniquet"):
    http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/index.php/t-554245.html
    The problem was really similar because with the finder you couldn't navigate but with the terminal (or with muCommander) you had no problem!
    As you can see, the problem was that the Finder couldn't manage the "Unix Extensions" option, set to ON in the Samba Server on the DNS-313 (we had the firmware 1.0 then).
    D-Link solved the issue later, with a firmware upgrade that disabled this "Unix Extensions" option so... couldn't it be possible that now Lion require this option to be set to ON again?!?!
    I will try this evening (10 hours from now, I'm Italian) enabling the unix extensions on the Samba Server of the DNS-313 (gaining an access to the 313 by telnet) and I will let you know if I sort this issue out.
    Greetings

  • Reconnect shared folder after sleep

    Hi,
    I have a problem with a shared netwrk drive I have.
    My setup is basically a wd-netcenter drive sitting on my wireless router and shared between my windows PC and my macbook.
    I mounted the drive, saved the password and dragged the drive to my login folder. The shared drive now successfully automounts at login.
    However if the macbook goes to sleep it loses the share and I have to manually remount it. I tried dragging the drive to the dock but when it unmounts I just get a "?" over the share icon.
    Any ideas how to make it easy to quickly remount after sleep ?
    Thanks
    Tony

    The reason is that whatever machine it is connected to is saying "No response, that MacBook has dropped offline" and it disconnects.
    If you are permanently hardwired to the network it's a problem, but if you tend to move the portable or are connected wirelessly it's best to have the disk ejected during sleep, since Finder has such a problem with nonexistent network drives.
    Otherwise, you might consider not letting your MacBook sleep.
    Another solution woud be a "wakeup hook" to run an Applescript to remount the server.

  • Should I delete files after moving them to a shared folder

    I just transfered files from the hard drive to a shared folder so that both users on the computer could have access to the files.  I was wondering if I should delete them from the hard drive and leave them only in the shared folder since it is about 100GB of stuff?
    Thanks

    I just transfered files from the hard drive to a shared folder so that both users on the computer could have access to the files. I was wondering if I should delete them from the hard drive and leave them only in the shared folder ...
    if you just dragged & dropped them in the finder, the files will have been moved, not copied, to the shared folder. there shouldn't be any originals in the original location.

  • Connecting to A Windows XP Shared Folder

    I looked around and I must not be good at searching because this seems like it had to have been asked before. so my apologies up front if it was.
    We recently moved and I lost my shared folder connection from my Mac to my windows xp machine and I haven't been able to reset it. I found articles describing how to connect, but I keep getting an error.
    http://www.mac-connect.com/winfrommac.php
    When I do that, my mac can not find my pc on the network whether I browse, use ip address or computer name. It looks for a while and then I get an error message that says "The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in smb://ip address could not be read or written. (Error Code - 36).
    I have disabled all firewalls I know about and set up the "My Documents" folder to share. But I still can not figure it out. I have Windows OS X (10.4.1).

    Hi
    I feel for you - I've been having the same problem except that I AM able to connect to my Mac via my PC - just not the other way around.
    The really annoying thing is I'm not interested in connecting from my PC to the Mac, I just want to connect from the Mac to the PC.
    There is an answer in Mac help, but it hasn't solved my problem. I'm not an IT expert at all, so I haven't the faintest idea what the solution is. Mac help says this occurs when upgrading from Mac OS X 10.3 to 10.4 but I've always had 10.4 and for me it only happened after I uploaded security updates - although I'm not sure which update caused it.
    This is from Mac help, maybe it will work for you:
    Symptoms
    Mac OS X 10.4: Error -36 alert displays when connecting to a Samba or Windows server
    After upgrading from Mac OS X 10.3.x to Mac OS X 10.4, you may get an error message when you try to connect to a Samba or Windows (SMB/CIFS) server. A Samba or Windows (SMB/CIFS) server includes servers operating on Microsoft Windows and other operating systems that use Samba for SMB/CIFS services.
    If the connection is unsuccessful, the following error message may appear:
    The Finder cannot complete the operation because some of the data in smb://........ could not be read or written. (Error code -36).
    If you check the Console (/Applications/Utilities/), you will also see this error message:
    mount_smbfs: session setup phase failed
    Resolution
    This error can occur if your Mac OS X 10.4 client is trying to connect to a Samba or Windows (SMB/CIFS) server that only supports plain text passwords. If you do not see the above message in the Console, you are not experiencing this issue and should try normal troubleshooting
    Unlike Mac OS X 10.3, the Mac OS X 10.4 SMB/CIFS client by default only supports encrypted passwords. Most modern Samba or Windows (SMB/CIFS) servers use encrypted passwords by default, while some Samba servers might have to be reconfigured.
    You should consider contacting the owner or system administrator of the Samba or Windows (SMB/CIFS) server to which you are trying to connect and encourage them to disable plain text passwords and start using encrypted ones. If the server cannot be reconfigured to support encrypted passwords, you can configure Mac OS X 10.4 SMB/CIFS client to send plain text passwords.
    Warning: If you configure your computer to allow connections to Samba or Windows (SMB/CIFS) servers using plain text passwords, when you attempt to make any connection to such a Samba or Windows (SMB/CIFS) server, your password will be sent "in the clear". This means that it is possible for someone who is monitoring your connection to see your password. This could lead to someone compromising the Samba or Windows (SMB/CIFS) server. We strongly recommend that you configure your Samba or Windows (SMB/CIFS) servers to exclusively use encrypted passwords.
    Follow the steps below to configure your computer to use plain text passwords to make SMB/CIFS connections when the specified Samba or Windows (SMB/CIFS) server does not support encrypted passwords. (You must be an administrator to do these steps.)
    Make sure that you are not currently connected to any Samba or Windows (SMB/CIFS) servers and that you do not have any Samba or Windows-related error messages open.
    Open the Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/).
    At the prompt, type: sudo pico /etc/nsmb.conf
    Press Return.
    Enter your password when prompted, then press Return again.
    You should see an empty file and a "New File" notice at the bottom of the pico window. If you do not see the "New File" notice, this file already exists.
    Enter the following into the file so that it appears as follows:
    [default]
    minauth=none
    Save the file (press Control-O), press Return, then exit pico (Control-X).
    Type: sudo chmod a+r /etc/nsmb.conf
    Press Return.
    Restart your computer.

  • If I move my iTunes media folder to the Shared folder....

    Hello
    I'd like to share my music libary with my wife's user account on our MacBook Pro so she can get some of my music onto her iPhone. I've read the article on the Apple site as well as similar articles from other reputable Mac user websites and it seems simple enough.
    I move the iTunes media folder into the shared folder and then redirect iTunes in the two separate accounts towards the new library locations whilst unticking the box 'Copy to the iTunes Media folder when adding to library' and then the same library is used by iTunes for both user accounts.
    My question is: what are the implications for Apps when doing this? This method allows us to share music which is simple enough because she doesn't have any so the new library will just be my music.
    But we both have our own collection of apps bought and downloaded through our individual accounts. Her apps are in the iTunes Media folder in her own account whilst mine are in mine. If we share an iTunes media folder as our shared libary, how does the storage and synchronisation of apps function?
    Thank you for any help..

    Sorted - worked it out myself.
    In case it's of any use to anyone else, I moved my iTunes Media folder into the Shared section of the drive and let iTunes know this which has had absolutely no effect on my library or my access to my media.
    My wife's iTunes simply has access to my media and she can add it to her own library (which already contains her own apps) without moving the media from my shared folder because I deselected that 'copy to itunes when adding to library' box.
    Now she has her own media folder and library but can access my stuff...

  • Transfer of file to a shared folder on remote machine

    Hi,
    I want to transfer a file present on windows machine A to a shared folder (\\16.192.54.56\Test) on machine B having ip as 16.192.54.56, using java.
    I tried using the renameTo api of File class but its not helping. It gives permission denied exception. I am able to open the shared folder from machine A using the shared folder path (\\16.192.54.56\Test) through the run command. So, that means there is no permission issue on the shared folder.
    Could anybody please guide me as to how can i resolve this issue.
    ~Brij

    Hi,
    Please pardon me for not providing the complete information.
    I have kind of root caused the issue. Let me explain the issue in detail.
    I have a logic to move a file to a shared folder on remote machine, inside my application running on a different machine. Now when i run my application using
    command prompt, the logic of moving the file to the shared folder works fine.
            try
                File fDest = new File(""\\\\15.154.52.100\\TestDir\\test");
                File fSrc = File.createTempFile("testExport", "txt");
               final int BUFFER = 2048;
               InputStream in = new FileInputStream(fSrc);
               OutputStream out = new FileOutputStream(fDest);
               // Transfer bytes from in to out
               byte[] buf = new byte[BUFFER];
              int len;
              while ( (len = in.read(buf)) > 0)
                  out.write(buf, 0, len);
              in.close();
             out.close();
             fSrc.delete())
            catch (Exception ex)
                ex.printStackTrace();
    {code}
    But when i run my application as a windows service, the logic does not work.
    I noticed that when we run our application as windows service, the owner of JVM is System and it looks like it will not have Network access permission.
    But, when we run our application through command prompt or as a standalone application, then the owner will be the user who started the application. This user will have the Network access permission.
    Please correct me if the above assumption is correct. If this is the case then how can i make my application (running as windows service), to have network access permission.

Have discovered several hundred songs are orphaned on old PC; I can "see" them with both machines turned on & iTunes open. "Missing" songs show in iMac itunes Shared folder. From things you are saying, such as "shared folder" and having both machines on, it doesn't sound to me like you truly moved the whole iTunes collection.

    do not confuse moving your whole folder and library with moving just media files as in

    Quick answer if you let iTunes manage your music:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Start iTunes with the option key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.

    Dear All,
    May i know what's the diff b/w creation of Report in Shared folder and in My folder.
    Is there any features changes.
    Regards..

    Hi,
    you can add shared folders to roles and so give users assigned to this role the permission to use the reports in that folder. Reports and folders in My Folders are not sharable.

  • Reports missed in Favorites Shared Folder(in web report)

    Hi experts,
    I missed shared folder reports in Favorites folder in Web report. where can i go and set those reports then end users able to see those reports and can access.
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards
    Shah

    Dear shah,
    you have to create roles per transaction pfcg and assign them to your End-Users, per Query Designer/ WAD or Bex Analyzer you can then publish queries/web templates/workbooks into this role.
    Alternatively you can add/change/remove a object per transaction pfcg.

  • Report Shared Folder

    Hi
    Is it possible to restrict or grant access to the report shared folder by specific user level (not by role)?
    For example there are 03 sub shared folder & user access should be:
    Folder A (user1 only)
    Folder B (user2, user3)
    Folder C (user 4 only)

    Thanks Max for quick reply. Actually I want to create different reports for number of users, and each of them will not be able to view other's report.
    For example:
    User 1 will be able to view/download Report 1 only
    User 2 will be able to view/download Report 2 only
    My first option is put in the Shared folder and litmit access to the subfolder but this does not work. Do you have any work around for this?
    Thanks & Regards

    If it's a shared folder that you can see, but the music is in fact on somebody else's computer, you CANNOT move it or do ANYTHING with it, other than listen to it.
    If that's now what you're talking about, please explain what you mean by a shared folder.

    Long time question really.. why do some apps jump out of their folder after an updat and others dont? is it something i can stop or is it an app thing or something else?

    Well I feel like a real idiot because I just realized my problem is that Applications was no longer checked in my Preferences to Show. For some reason the update unchecked it, plus it wants to run the Setup every time I start now.
    But at least my Apps are there.
    I do have the manual, btw. Thanks.
