Moving a web

I'm sure that this has been previously discussed, but I can't seem to find a definitive and complete answer anywhere.
I have my iweb published on a personal domain - www.dogsearsup.me.uk. So far so good, although the pages are a little slower to load than I would like. The web is published from my imac at home - I have a macbook for travel, and although it would be nice to publish changes from both, I believe this can't be done.
So... How can I move whatever files are necessary to the macbook, so that I can publish from it, instead of from the imac? I'm on the latest Leopard and have a network/memory stick for transfers.
Many thanks for any guidance available, and once again apologies if I have missed an existing post on this subject.

This Apple doc may help: iWeb: Publish to your .Mac account from more than one computer.
...if it doesn't, post back with more details. It's iWeb's Domain file that is the key and which can be put on your network/memory stick for transfers between Macs running the same version of iWeb.

  • Moving from Web Dynpro Java timesheet to Web Dynpro ABAP timesheet

    Hi
We are in the process of moving from Web Dynpro Java ESS timesheet to Web Dynpro ABAP ESS timesheet.  When using Web Dynpro Java ESS timesheet it is possible to enter time using a daily or weekly view.
When using the Web Dynpro version and ensuring the period type is set to weekly view for the data entry profile it is only possible to enter time on the weekly view, the tab for the daily view is no longer available.
Still using the Web Dynpro version and changing the period type to daily view I can enter time using the daily view and the weekly tab also becomes available, but the weekly tab is read only.
Do you know if it is possible to make daily and weekly timesheet entry for one data entry profile.
    Thanks
    Mark

Yes you can have only one view ie weekly or daily as per your CATS profile in CAC1.
but of course you can select multiple profiles
    Configuration
The application configuration HRESS_AC_CATS_1 is provided by default and allows you to provide default values for the application parameters. It also allows you to specify the layout and appearance of the application.
The following application parameters are provided:
    HIDE_CLOCK_TIMES_IN_WEEKLY
Hides the clock times in the weekly view.
    MULTIPLE_PROFILE
Enables the selection of multiple data entry profiles from the dropdown list

  • Just moved CS4 Web from old mac to new using time machine. Apps won't launch. Help?

Just moved CS4 Web from old mac to new using time machine. I get an error when I try to launch a program on the new computer (150:30). After contacting live chat about the issue and providing all serial numbers etc. I was directed to a download. The download was a .dmg file that my computer did not recognize. It was suggested that I ask the experts on the forum how to resolve the issue. I have all the discs and serial numbers but the new macbook pro doesn't take discs (I guess they think all apps are downloadable now). Any ideas?

Hmm... I don't know why they sent you here... CS4 is not part of the Cloud
I have some download links for earlier versions of Premiere Pro and Premiere Elements, but not CS4 Web
My best idea is to take a LARGE USB memory stick to a friend with a DVD drive and copy your DVD over to the USB memory stick
Or, ask in the forum for your program(s) to find out if anyone has CS4 download links
If you start at the Forums Index https://forums.adobe.com/welcome
You will be able to select a forum for the specific Adobe product(s) you use
Click the "down arrow" symbol on the right (where it says All communities) to open the drop down list and scroll

  • Moving Local Web Dynpro project from Dev to Prod

    Hi,
i have a scenario where there is a small application to be developed. And m the only developer to work on it.
I need to a create local web dynpro project for the same and deploy it to the deveopment server. and test it here. However, the client for whom i am developing this service, is based somewhere else. How do i deploy this local application on his production server?
I dont have JDI architecture here. Can i achieve this without JDI? and How? Which is more feasible -  using JDI or not in my case ?
    Regards,
    Apeksha

    Hi,
Genrally, it is recommended to work with JDI. But, as you said you have only project that needs to be deployed then you can change the server settings in your NWDS and make it point to the production server.
    Windows>Preferences>SAP J2EE Engine--> <details of your remote production server>
NOTE: You should have sdm password to deploy this applicaiton.

  • The best/clean/free approach to moving SharePoint Web Application between environments?

    Hello Forum,
I have an environment e.g. (Environment1) Web Application that contains 90 site collections (Including: Lists, Libraries, Workflows, and custom solutions), and its URL is (http://Dept.Company.com/)
I must move this entire Web Application from the source: Environment1 to the destination: Environment2.
What is the best and safest way to accomplish that without using any commercial migration third party tools ?
What I have in mind right now is as below:
Obviously, I cannot backup and restore all these 90 site collections back and forth between the source: Environment1 to the destination: Environment2. This is very impractical and inefficient.
I thought about Web Application backup, e.g.
    Backup-SPFarm -Directory <BackupFolder> -BackupMethod {Full | Differential} -Item <WebApplicationName> [-Verbose]
Restore-SPFarm -Directory <BackupFolderName> -RestoreMethod Overwrite -Item  <WebApplicationName> [-BackupId <GUID>] [-Verbose]
But, I am not sure if it the way to go or not? I am a bit concerned about GUID and running into unlimited problems. What do you think?
In case if I followed the: Backup/Restore-SPFarm, Should I create a Web Application in the destination: Environment2 and the URL must be 100% identical to the source: Environment1?
Well, I would love to hear your thoughts about the best practices and recommendation considering my scenario.

Hi mate, firstly you could use the method you mentioned, In any method if there is code using GUID references instead of by Name you will run into problems and hence you should do a full prior investigation and analysis to find out any custom code dependant
on GUIDS and custom solutions required etc, I would personally just take a SQL backup of the content DBs for the web application or dettach them and move them to the new source sql server(if any), create a new web-application in Env2, create the respective
managed paths, install all custom solutions that need to be installed against this web-application in the new farm, go to manage content dbs and here add the existing content dbs(the backed up ones), make one of them or the only one(if there is only one) default
and remove the empty current default content DB. URL is on the IIS end, so you can rebind the existing URL to the new web-front-ends however the load-balancer(if any) or HOST A entries need to now point to the new web-front-ends. If you use https or using
SSL you need to get the cert re-issued for the new servers and load them on the IIS and use them for URL binding. To test no you do not need the same URL, however you will need to add the new path(e.g.
http://server2:81 to the alternate access mappings for the new web-application), then lets say if you have a site called Site1 you can try after migration doing
http://server2:81/Site1. I would highly recommend doing a trial migration with backedup content DBs in Env2 and go through the findings and document them for the actual one, the thing to look for are the custom solutions
and custom code etc and getting the ssl certificates sorted for the new WFEs, if the same URL is not needed, i.e. the new ENV2 is only for UAT or testing then you don't need to use the same URL, however once again if code has hardcoded it somewhere you will
need to analyse that and fix it before or after migration. So there are some pre and post steps involved. Hope that helps. thanks.

  • Moving a web gallery

How can i move a web gallery folder from my old mac to my new one?

    Jim:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You would have to move the library package to the new mac. If the new Mac has a library with photos then you can use iPhoto Library Manager to merge the new Mac's library into the old library. That will preserve the gallery. Be sure to enter the .Mac info in the system .Mac preferences.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Moving a web site from tomcat to IIS or apache

    Hi,
I am writing a web application using the jakarta-tomcat-3.2.3 web server. I am using the servlets, jsp and the web.xml file.
Now I want to put the site in a hosting company in order to connect the site to the world. The hosting companies use IIS web server or apache server. Will they know to work with my application? will they know to read the web.xml file?
In case I install my application on another web server do I just move my folder as it is to the other web server?
    Thanks
    Eli

I don't know about IIS, but with Apache you have to have Tomcat installed aswell.
    Tomcat is Apache's Servlet server.
You best bet is to ask each hosting company if they support Servlets, if they do then just plonk the .war in the www root, and it should work, unless your hosting company tells you otherwise.

  • Moving Published web sites from old mac to new mac

I published a web site using iweb on my previous computer and would like to be able to make updates to it using my new mac. How do I transfer the sites from my old mac to my new mac?

Simply copy and paste the file. iWeb by default uses the following file:
    /Users/Username/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain.sites
If viewing thru the Finder, you won't see the extension. Also, it is not imperative that you keep the file in that location. Move it to where you want, then double-click it to launch iWeb. It will then know where you are keeping it and automatically open that file in that location when you launch iWeb the next time.

  • Moving a Web page Off the top Banner

Hi I'm trying to move a page so that it does not show up in the Top Banner that lists my pages and instead just have a button linking to that part of my site. How do I do this?

It's the navigation layer. Not top banner.
Anyway : Inspector > First icon from the left > Hide page
And for future reference, take a look at the other icons as well.

Seems that it happened due to updating weblogic version (changes in jee, jms, ejb, jpa versions?). Could you please advice me how to fix this issue?
    Thanks, Ilya

I belive there is no problems for this change, because the versions are the same for java at least for OaS, for weblogic you should see documentation. I think you can try deploying you app to new environment if you get any noclassdeffound error or something like it then you could have problems for versions.

  • Is there a way to control where a web page opens on my desktop when I click on a link in my email (Mail)?

So while I'm reading my emails, I get a lot of Twitter notifications. I like to just click on the Twitter link & keep on reading mail until I get to the end. But sometimes the Twitter web page opens right over the top of my Mail page. It's not a big deal, but I get a lot of these, so over the course of time it's a big waste of time to keep moving the web pages over to keep reading my emails.
Is there a way for me to determine where on my desktop the new web pages open when I click on links?

Is there a way for me to determine where on my desktop the new web pages open when I click on links?
Not sure if that can be done but you can press the Expose   key which will show all open windows.

  • Web Service wdsl file getting generated as a HTTPS protocol instead of HTTP

    Hi Experts,
    I have a   requirement
I have created a web service in development client  which is used in interactive adobe form.
After moving the web service to production only defination is getting generated.
I have tried to manually create the service in SOAMANAGER , it is getting created as with https protocol.
In development client it was created as a http protocol.
    Warm Regards
    Abhinav

    Hi Abhinav,
I'm assuming you don't have a QA system in your landscape if you're transporting straight from Dev to Production. I'm also assuming this because if you transported to QA before production you would have noticed that 'only' the definition is always transported. You have to do the configuration again each time you transport your change, this is SAP default behaviour because each webservice is client dependant so SAP won't know which client this service will be relevant for in the environment you're transporting to.
The HTTPS issue, this makes sense to me in the production environment. You don't normally have the HTTP protocol enabled in a production environment, only HTTPS for security reasons.
In yout production environment, check Transaction Code SMICM --> Got (drop down menu) --> Services
Check what protocols are active there (with a green tick). This will indicate whether the HTTP protocol in enabled in Prod or not.

  • Need Information on "Web Reporting in Portal"

    Hi Experts,
I want to gain more knowledge on the reporting side. Is there any   reporting strategy that talks about Portal, web reporting and the Business Explorer. What is the best practice for reporting in NW 04's in most corporations? Is there any case studies? If someone can provide me with that info. will be a great help for me. Forum points are guranteed. Thanks
    Padma K

    Hi Padma,
Most of the Organizations are moving towards web reports due to the following advantages:
    1. The web query can be used without the GUI installed on the system. For Bex you need the SAP GUI installed.
    2. As per SAP the web queries run faster than the bex query.
    3. Bex uses excel which has a limitation of 65,536 rows where as your web query does not have that limitation.
    4. The web query can be accessed from any browsing cafe also which is not the case with Bex Query.
Another important point is that you get EP(enterprise portal) by default installed with BI 7.0(ABAP+Java stack). So EP is used for publishing the web reports. The trend and the recommendation from SAP is to use EP for BI web reports. In most of the cases you would have a separate EP consultant apart from a BI consultant. The web report created by the BW consultant is published as an iview by an EP consultant.
BW with EP - Check these docs:

When you update your Folio Builder panel, you'll see a new feature. If you choose Folio Producer from the Folio Builder panel menu, the Folio Producer Organizer opens in your default web browser. It signs in using the same Adobe ID you used to sign in to the panel.
Colin Fleming posted a video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHiVKqYz98g

This was failing when both were on the same server.
    I changed the servlets code to resp.getOutputStream().print("");
This causes it to work correctly when both are on my local computer.
Once I moved the web app to a different computer I get the same failure I was getting. The servlet is geing initialized and the resp.getOutputStream().print is being called.
The applet jars are signed, but I haven't done anything to the web app.
