Moving an image into R3 from disconnected handheld

We need to move a bitmap image that is collected on a disconnected device to R3. We are using generic sync to move the rest of the data. Does anyone know what ABAP functions exist that help import images, or serialized objects?

Hello Brian,
as far as i know(but i only heard this at a MAM Workshop in Walldorf last month) SAP has created a new document upload syncbo.It should be shipped with MAM 3.0 and is designed for transfering digital captures(bitmap) from MAM to R/3. But it should be a general file-transfer syncbo to transfer bitmaps from mobile device to R/3. The Name of the new syncBo will be MAM30_080. If you have the possilibity to get a 3.0 Version of MAM,perhaps you can test and try this syncbo for your document transfer.

Moving photos back into iphoto from DVD back-up

I have lost several hundred photos (through my own error). I have them backed up on DVD in the iphoto format. Iphoto recognizes the disk when I put it in.
I'm wondering the best way to transfer these photos back onto my computer and into my iphoto library. Drag and drop?
The thumbnails of the lost photos remain in my iphoto on my computer so I was thinking of rebuilding the thumbnail cache (which iphoto sometimes prompts me to do when I open it) before I import. (how would I do this?)

Just drag the disk image onto the Library icon in the left hand pane and your photos will be imported into the library in the Events and albums that they were in when you backed them up.
But first I would delete those "damaged" photos from the library and then import from the disk. Use iPhoto's delete method so that you delete not only the thumbnail files but any related modified files. That will get rid of a lot of flotsam in the library.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.≤br>
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

Inserting images into Word from Photo

I want to insert photos into a Word Document. In the past, I would choose Insert>photo from Word, and iPhoto images were available. Now with Yosemite 10.10.3, iPhoto has been replaced by Photo. iPhoto images are not available when choosing Insert from Word. Suggestions appreciated.

Neither iPhoto nor Photo appears available for inserting pictures into MS Word nor MS Powerpoint. Is the problem with Photo?

Is there a way of moving imported images in lR4 from mac HDD to and EX HDD with out loosing LR4 data

i've managed to fill my mack up with images as i imported all my photos to the MAC HDD rather than an external HDD,,,school boy error :\ (but i am new to lightroom)
as there's 30,000+ is there a way of moving them with out having to reload them to the new HDD? i only found out my mistake when the computer was running on 1% memory...doh!

In your operating system, move the photos to wherever you want them to be (keeping the folder tree structure the same), and then in Lightroom re-link via http://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm

Importing grouped images into InDesign from Word

Hi everybody. Is there anyone who can help me please?
When I place work, Edit > Place and then Shift and click. It only place my text up until the first grouped image. But when I ungrouped it in Word, the whole document can be placed. Why can’t InDesign place grouped images from Word, is there a way to do this?

Can't imoprt images into Aperture from CF card

I have just installed Aperture into my Mac Book Pro. I connected my card reader (with compact flash card) to a usb port which opened Aperture. I selected "import images" and Aperture correctly identifies my camera (Canon 5D) and CF reader, but displays "No images to import. Yet I am able to import these same image files (RAW) into iPhoto or Adobe Bridge with no problem. I have deleted & re-installed Aperture with the same results. Help!

This post was a couple weeks ago and the original poster may have found a solution already. But, I'm posting to offer a different explanation for others that may have the same problem.
When I get the "No images to import", it is because Aperture is not done scanning the CF card. Some cards apparently take longer to scan, especially the larger cards. I had never seen this error before I bought larger CF cards. Compact Flash cards that are 2GB-4GB never give me this problem as the cards are scanned quickly.
I usually go do something else and come back. I don't think it has taken more than a couple minutes before the "No images to import" button changes to reflect the number of images on the card and enabled. My largest CF is 16GB. If you have something larger, I would probably give it 5-10 minutes.

After the installation of CC 2014, I can't start an editing of an image into Ps from Lightroom.

When I choose Edit into ... Photoshop CC 2014, Ps is launched but nothing happens.
I just can launch an edit as advanced object and in this case the image appears into Ps.
Any suggestions ?

Loading an image into CS3 from Lightroom

Sorry to repeat this request but:
I am running Lightroom on a laptop with Windows Vista. If I make changes to an image in the develop module of Lightroom, and then right click on the image, go to Edit in CS3, and Edit a Copy with Lightroom adjustments, CS3 boots up but no image appears within CS3.
I did have both CS2 and CS3 on my hard drive. I removed CS2 with no benefit. I removed Lightroom, and re-installed a purchased version but still the same problem. Edit - Preferences - External Editing shows Edit in Photoshop CS3 and Additional External Editor Photoshop.exe. Trying this latter option to open the image in CS3 also fails.
Any ideas??

Inserting or embed and image into cfmail output from a database-stored path to an actual image.

I am trying to insert or embed and image into cfmail from a database-stored path to an actual image. The actual JPEG image is stored in a folder called "images_personnel". The path to the image under the column titled photopath is stored in my database table as "/file/images_personnel/28.jpg". Displaying the image on the screen renders without a problem, embedding the same image as part of a cfloop query does not insert/embed the image into an email. All of the other output of the same cfloop displays and emails just fine. However none of the photos of each personelle show up. What an I doing wrong?

You'll need to provide a full URL link to the image ("http://mywebserver/file/images_personnel/28.jpg"), not just a relative path. Remember, the email client that is used to view the email content knows nothing of the internals of your web server - it can only follow a complete URL to get images and other resources.

Then get whatever-you-want-to-have's resolution and calculate the rectangles.
Don't you think you need to determine the size of a pixel before you can determine the size of a pixelized image?
This is soooo nonsense. A4 is a paper format, so to get something in A4 you need to print it. Or at least consider printing it. And thus you need to know the printer's resolution. Even if you determine A4 to be say 800x600 pixels, in printer A and printer B with different resolutions, at least one if not both of them will still print it in something different than A4.

Importing images into Lr

Hi,
I imported images into Lightroom from a folder I created on my desktop, I got images from Iphoto, and now Lr tells me images are "offline". I cannot work on them. I haven't purchased license yet and am using the 30 trial, though I don't thing that should matter. Please help.

Long Image Loading Times From LR to CS6?

Hello Folks,
I seem to be experiencing very long image loading times when loading an image into CS6 from LR4.
When I right click an image in LR4 and select edit-in CS6, CS6 immediately starts up, and loads. But after CS6 is fully up on my screen, I get
a spinning ball first, then spinning white/grey circles, until my selected image appears within CS6.
I am operatinng with an iMac 27 2.8G with 8G of memory and using SL 10.6.8 I have about 300G of free space on my HDD.
Any ideas or suggestion or settings in CS6 I might need to look at would be appreciated.
I never experienced this issue as I recall in CS5.

I have moved my iPhoto to an external hard drive. so now I have to have the external hard drive connected to my laptop to view the photos. Now when I want to import photos into iPhoto from my media card, I don't have room to connect both devices.

First transfer the photos to a folder on your MacBook using Image Capture in your Utilities folder. Then move them to iPhoto.
BTW, you might want to invest in a cheap USB hub.
