Moving aperture 3 (upgrade version) to a new laptop, need aperture 2 licens

I just got a new macbook pro and I used the migration assistant to move absolutely everything over from my old macbook. When I tried starting Aperture on my new macbook, it asked for the serial number. I entered it. Aperture then told me it was an upgrade license (which it was) and asked for the original serial number. But, unfortunately, I can't find my Aperture 2 license.
So here's my question: Is there some way to extract my old Aperture 2 license from any of the files on my old laptop, such as the one called Aperture System ID?

Most likely, you can plug in your USB drive on the new Mac and it will work. However, to be on the safe side, I would run the File/Consolidate Media command for each project to make sure you have access to all events, photos, and music used in the project.

When you use a new version of iMovie, all the events and projects are converted to the new format. You cannot go back and run an earlier version after that. However, if you have the same version on both Macs, you can edit on each.

Upgrading to 2008 on new laptop

I have been using 4.5 Professional on my current laptop and am looking to upgrade to 2008 and at the same time upgrading laptops.
Is anyone aware of any registration issues that may arise if I download the upgrade onto my new laptop. My concern is that the system may check for the old 4.5 version which will be on the old machine.

As per your question, you are looking to upgrade your laptop with Xcelsius 2008.
There is no activation required for Xcelsius 2008.
It can be installed on any machine and is an independent client application.
Regarding Xcelsius 4.5, it requires activation. If you are trying to un-install the Xcelsius and re-install it on a different machine or laptop, you would require to activate the serial key.
However this is not the case with Xcelsius 2008. Also you can install Xcelsius 2008 and Xcelsius 4.5 on the same machine without any issues.

New Laptop need 64 bit version but originally bought the 32 bit version.

I just got a new laptop, a 64 bit version of Windows 7. However, my download of Lightroom was the 32 bit version. Does anyone know if I can I get the 64 bit version and use it on my new computer without having to pay more?

Just download it from the Lightroom website (the demo version is the full version) and select the right version. Just enter your serial number and you will be good to go.

Need to put old version CS4 on new laptop without CD drive

I have the CS4 and I need to download onto new laptop without a CD drive. Any advice?

Hello, I am trying to download my Lightroom 4.4 to my new laptop, that I purchased on Ebay, and has worked fine on my Vista computer, and the girl I puirchased it from told me that would always be my license number on any computer I choose to download it to, now when I put the license # it is coming up invalid.. I do not want to upgrade to lightroom 5 as of yet, any suggestions out there? Thanks..

How to move a version to a new folder in Aperture 3?

Just getting used to Aperture 3. Having made a version of a master image and adjusted it, I want to move only that version to a new folder called "portfolio". Currently the master and all versions associated with it move to the portfolio folder. It doesn't appear to matter whether the versions are stacked or not. How can I move (or copy) only one image/version?

You need a better understanding of the parts. This concise guide may help -- but you'll leap forward if you read through the first seven chapters of the User Manual, which lay a solid foundation on which you can build both your understanding and your Library.
The short answer: use Albums for such things as "Portfolio" (and other groupings of your images other than by "shoot"). Use Album Picks to designate the Version in a Version Stack that you wish to be the primary Image of that Stack in that Album. Use the Filter parameter "Stack Picks Only" to include only those Images in a container which are either Stack picks or single, not-stacked, Images.
This system is complex, but extremely useful once you get used to it.

I downloaded the latest FF version for my new laptop with Windows 7 o/s and installed without problems, so why does it crash every time I try to use FF?

My new laptop came with IE installed. I downloaded FF and installed it without any problems. FF has crashed every time I have tried to use it. I have never had this problem before on either laptop or desktop and found that I could use FF most of the time, only switching to IE occasionally when a site worked better with it ... which wasn't often.

Looking for a new laptop, need help!?!

I am searching for a new laptop to use in college and i am planning to spend $900 to $1000 on it and would like a laptop that is not too big (like equal to or under 16".) I would like at least 500GB hard drive and processor that is good but not to strong that I have no battery life. I was thinking i5 processor. I would like it to have enough battery to be able to use through good chunk of day (like 6hr rated or so.) It needs to be somewhat durable as I know college will take its toll on the computer. It would be great addition to have a good video card. I don't know if there is anything out there like this but hope there is. Please post suggestions or new ideas about what i would need for college. Thank you for any help!

Thank you for considering Best Buy for the purchase of your next laptop. As we start off the Back to School season you should start seeing the introduction of quite a few new models, and some that should be able to meet your need. With the way technology advances day to day, this shouldn't be impossible to maintain.
Personally, taking into account any and all biases I have and stuff, theres 4 models i'd point out to you inside my store. Understanding that these are not your only options, and that I think that the aethetic design of the computer (how nice you think it looks) should definitely play a role, i'm sure any of these should be able to meet the demands you specified.

Overall these are pretty close to your price limit, and I chose these assuming you wish to spend 900-1000 on the laptop and already counted in taxes, accessories, softwares etc. Just to let you know I discounted some models to give you the higher quality, however some models which come out to cost less would still meet your specified criteria. okay so i got a new laptop for xmas and i want to transfer my songs from my old desktop to my laptop. is there a way i can load my ipod onto my laptop and use that to transfer songs.
my friend said that when i plug in my ipod to my blank itunes it will erase my songs. is there a way to download my songs to my laptop from my ipod?

Your friend is right. the iPod cannot be used to update iTunes. I had the same problem about a year ago, and I just transferred each song using my jumpdrive. It's painstakingly boring, but it will work without wiping anything clean.

Installing CS3 Upgrade Version on a NEW PC

Hello,
I've had a lot of problems contacting Adobe and hope you can help me.
I'm getting a new PC soon and want to install my copy of CS3 Design Standard. The disk here is an upgrade disk as I had the original creative suite (also an upgrade disk). Before that I had Photoshop 6.0, InDesign 2.0 etc.
How would I install CS3 successfully?

Probably not at all. New PC means Win 7 or Win 8 and CS3 is not compatible at all with the latter and exposes some not so minor issues with the otehr. Beyond that, if you feel adventurous, al lyou need is your CS3 and you will be asked for a serial of a previous product. Just expect this to be an unpleasant experience and don't say you haven't been warned. Of course you might end up happy like a kid on Christmas on the odd chance it may work without a hitch...

I just moved my profile over to a new laptop (from windows 7 to 8.1), everyone was working great for about 2 hours, now I can't send or receive.

I've checked the firewall, reinstalled TB, reinstalled my profile and still no luck. I can get email online and from the windows email app, but I like TB better, especially since I have multiple email addresses. Looking at the password manager, there's no passwords listed, but I'm never prompted for passwords either. No error messages come up. When I click 'get mail', it says that it's connected to server, then nothing happens. Help!

Even with the Gold plan, only [http://help.excite.com/mail/help_pop.html POP access] is offered. The settings are different from the ones you have shown above.
I suggest you get a free Gmail, outlook.com or AOL account, all of which can be set up as POP or IMAP in TB.

Moving all FCP content to a new drive, need advice!

Well, I just ran out of space on my FCP scratch/capture/content drive, an external 300gig. So I got this snazzy 1tb drive that is bootable and empty. What to do? How do I copy all the FCP content to the new drive, and what implications does have to all my FCP Studio projects that exist on my internal drive? Am I going to have to relink everything...and more importantly, is there a chance of messing up my projects here?
I was hoping to just somehow clone the volume on the old drive to the new, and blow away the old drive for other uses (TM) and fake out the OS to think nothing has changed. But when I looked in drive genius under duplicate volume, it warns me it will delete EVERYTHING on the target drive. Arg, no good. And in CCC it warns me it will make the target non-bootable. Double Arg. So what to do?

Arg, I did that, just a simple copy to the new drive and some of the assets where found and some not so i had to use that dialog "reconnect media" which must be the most confusing dialog in all of Leopard, and managed to reconnect everything in this very large project in process (heaven help me if I ever have to go back to the others), but now the problem is there are many things that are unrendered. Mostly the Motion imbeds. But in the System settings FCP figured out to just change the drive name to all the cache definitions, so not sure what to do about that except re-render all the timelines. Well, I knew it was not going to be easy!

Hdd in new laptop, need recovery disks?

I replaced my hdd from another HP laptop I had. It works, boots up properly except the USB ports, wifi and cd's are all diconnected from the hdd. Will recovery disks(I have none) fix this issue?

We need the model of the laptop and the Windows version you installed. Likely you just need drivers and they can be downloaded here. However, we need the model of the laptop and Windows version to tell which drivers you need.

How do I move bookmarks, cookies, history and settings from an old Firefox version to my new one

I have the previous version of my Firefox from an old computer now located on my C drive. I would like to move the bookmarks, cookies, history and settings to my new Firefox (it is an upgraded version on my new computer). When I click on the File drop down, the import section can not be opened because it is not active. I have dozens of bookmarks that I would like to have loaded in my new Firefox application. I would also like to have my passwords moved to the new Foxfire application. How do I get that to happen?

Trying to install adobe acrobat pro 9 on a new laptop after deactivating it on old laptop. After installation I get Update check for some reason then doesn't let me go any further Anyone know why this is?

OK so I have deactivated and uninstall the version off the old laptop, then reinstalled the version on the new laptop. When you go to open a document it says it wants to do an upgrade check for some reason, anyone know why this is? It will not take the serial number after that and it doesn't show the version we have in the drop down list.

What operating system are you running on the new laptop? If it's a current OS, then it may be incompatible with Acrobat 9. Please see https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/system-requirements-acrobat-family-prod ucts.html.
It could also be that you're trying to install an upgrade, and the installer is looking for the serial number for the previous version (is the previous version listed in the drop-down list?).
