Moving apps on iphone

I know you can rearange apps on iphone by holding the some but is there a easier way to do it like on itunes or something. I have a lot of apps to put on different pages.

iTunes 9 as a wonderful new way to arrange apps. It is like the best thing that can even be imagined from a computer! You can actually SEE the screens on your iPhone, right there on your screen!
It really does look cool. It is the BEST!

  • 2nd req: Moving apps iTunes/iPhone [diff computer]

    Hi, second request:
I have two Macs.  One was used to sync everything when I first bought the iPhone 3G.  That Mac is now used only to sync iTunes and Apps.  I'd like to move to syncing the Apps portion to the MBP and off the Mini.
Has anyone done this?  I've tried searching, but I guess I'm not using the right keywords or phrasing to get good results.

Drag them to a disk/flash drive/etc then drag them onto the computer.
OR  Connect the iphone, do not sync, click File>Transfer Purchases

After you Restore from backup, sync the iPhone.

  • Apps not getting moved from/to iPhone via iTunes

My wife is having problems with her iPhone and iTunes.  Apps are not getting removed from the iPhone or are not getting moved to the iPhone from iTunes.  Apps that iTunes says are there are not on the iPhone.
She has tried multiple times to remove/install and applied changed and synced, but nothing seems to change.
    iTunes version 11.3.1 (2)
    iPhone 4s IOS 7.1.2

Oh, wanted to share at least one workaround for those with the issue.  You can at least access visit the itunes app and download your music that way and add it to the playlists on the phone.  Just for some reason, iTunes won't synchronize most purchased music to the phone.

  • Checklist for moving from an iPhone 3g to iPhone 4

I currently have an iPhone 3G that I've used for almost 2 years now, and will be upgrading to the iPhone 4 this coming week. I reserved the phone online at Apple.com for pickup at my local Apple Store (was in queue for only 30-40 minutes, really thankful after hearing some of the stories posted here). I received the confirmation email about 5 minutes after ending the process, and have also called my local store (Boylston Street, Boston) to confirm that I am on "the list", which I am. I may reconfirm with them on Tuesday or Wednesday.
As this is the first time I've picked up an Apple item on launch day (I picked up my 3G a couple weeks after it came out), I wanted to make sure I was prepared and that the transition was smooth. I thought about what I needed to do before moving to the iPhone 4, and came up with this list:
*1. Clear my 3G of all voicemails.*
*2. Uninstall any apps that are specifically tied to my 3G (e.g., I have an authentication token app tied to my 3G).*
*3. Copy off any photos on my 3G's Camera Roll to my dekstop.*
I know that the email I received said someone at the Apple Store can help me copy all my contacts to the new phone, but I will probably manually copy any contacts to the iPhone 4 myself (I don't have many contacts, and I probably need to clean some out anyway).
I will also probably be setting up my iPhone 4 from scratch and not using the backup from my 3G that's in iTunes to set up the new phone.
Can anyone think of any other to-do's I might have missed?

Back up the 3G to the old Macbook via iTunes.
Copy your iTunes Library to the new Macbook
Connect the 3G to the new Macbook and back it up again, just to be sure
Connect the new iPhone 4 to the new MacBook and set it up under the same name as the old one.
That should give you all your old stuff on your new phone.
You might choose to use an external hard drive and something like SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner (my personal choice) to clone your disk from old to new Macbook

You cannot delete the built in phone app. You may have moved it to another home screen page.

  • Moving from one iPhone to another

    Hi
Can you please kindly clear this up for me. I'm reading and clicking around and just getting more confused.
Recently I moved from an iPhone 3G -> 3GS. I did a back up and used this to restore on to the new phone. Brilliant. Everything was there except my apps and music.
I put this down to not syncing them on that laptop I used.
Now I'm expecting an iPhone 4 soon and want to make sure this doesn't happen again. I have gone in to iTunes (10.1 on a Mac Book Air running 10.6.5) but if I click sync on the apps it warns me it will wipe my phone and install what shows in the library - one app I don't even have on the phone. Eek!
What should I do to ensure my apps get put on to my new phone?
    Thank you
    Shell

Brilliant. The 'Sync Purchases' step was what I was missing, thank you
The apps/music were on a different computer I changed from about the same time so I never got around to doing the whole sync thing on there. I did restore from this old computer but it was until I was away from it I realised what had happened with the apps and music! I understood this is what I should have done though to get them back as I know they were all synced on there.
It all makes sense now so it won't happen again, cheers!
To be clear for those finding this thread looking for help, if you are planning to move from one iPhone to another:
1- Before: Do a back up (right click the phone on the left in iTunes and choose backup)
2- Sync apps etc (right click on the phone on the left in iTunes and choose sync purchases)
3- On the new phone when iTunes asks, use the backup
4- After, sync it to get your apps back!

I am encountering the same problem.  This is a good start but need some guidance:
    1.  How do you get to the iTunes files you mention?
    2.  What specific files do you need?
    3.  Will I lose any data?
    Thanks for any help.
    1) The files are in the iTunes folder. The iTunes folder is in your Music folder which is in your home folder (user).
    So go to <user home>/Music/iTunes.
    2) Any files that end with .xml, .itl, or itdb. Please note that I had upgraded iTunes many times over the years and had several obsolete versions of those files in my iTunes folder. By moving them out and forcing iTunes to create new ones (see steps 3 & 4 above), I was able to determine which ones iTunes actually needed. Those were the files that I copied back into the iTunes folder, overlaying the new empty files.
    3) Always make backups before you try tricks like this. I would recommend backing up your entire iTunes folder. I did not experience any data loss. Those files seem to contain your iTunes library information but not the actual music, movies, etc. When I started iTunes in step 3 (see above), iTunes showed an empty library. After performing step 4 (see above), I started iTunes again and it showed all my music, movies, etc. So I assume that the actual media files are stored elsewhere. Again, always make backups before trying something like this. I use Time Machine.
Good luck. Let us know what happens.

when i purchase ringtones and they download directly to the music app on iphone, how can I move them to SOUNDS in SETTINGS so I can assign to various functions please?

You would have to create the ringtones.
Google will find several way to do this.
You cannot buy ready made ringtones from your computer.

  • Printer control app for iphone

is it possible to roll back to a previous version of the Printer Control app for iphone?  I recently and stupidly updated the HP Printer Control app when offered through itunes on October 30 and have lost all the functionality I previously had to print directly from my iphone to my photosmart 7520.  Previously I could print whatever pages I chose from Safari and could change the print settings for either draft or normal, colour / black & white before printing.  Now when I try to print a page, you don't get the option to just print page 1 and it wastes ink.  If I open a pdf (all I've tried so far) document within this new AiO Remote app - even though my printer is listed and supposedly set up - I can't print at all!  I desperately want to ditch this abysmal update and go back to the version that worked perfectly.  I have conctacted Apple and they were unable to help as it's a third party app and referred me back to HP.  Does anyone know how to do this?

Hi brattynat. I have found a few older documents which might help you revert back.
Just to clarify, when you print from Safari, what are you clicking exactly to start your printing process?

  • My weather app from iPhone is not updating

Since Saturday, my weather app from iPhone 5 hasn't been updating sometimes.
All of a sudden, it starts working again.
    - Why does that happen?
    - Is there any solution?
    Thanks!

    Hello thiagok91,
I have a few recommendations for this issue you describe. First if you havent already, restart the phone.
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If the issue persists after that, then I suggest toggling the Location Services off and then back on in settings outlined here:
Turning Location Services on or off
You can turn Location Services on or off at Settings > Privacy > Location Services. You can turn Location Services on either during the Setup Assistant process or later through the Location Services setting. You can turn it off if you don't want to use this feature or to conserve battery life. You can individually control which applications and system services have access to Location Services data.
Settings > Privacy > Location Services:
From: iOS 6: Understanding Location Services          http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5467
And if needed, you may need to quit the app, and re launch it.
iOS: Force an app to close

    Take care,
    Sterling

  • Dictation is not working in the reminders app on iPhone 4s IOS6. The microphone is grayed out. How do I re-enable the microphone?

Dictation is not working in the reminders app on iPhone 4s IOS6. The microphone is grayed out. How do I re-enable the microphone?

One day I tried to dictate a note and discovered the microphone was grayed out.  As someone suggested I did a hard reset of my iPhone 4S and that didn't solve the problem.
Then I had an epiphany.  I use the Notes app a lot and have a lot of Notes stored in the app.  I tried deleting some of my many notes and "viola!" the microphone is black again.  My guess is the app has some kind of storage limit and when you hit that limit, the microphone is automatically turned off.  Anyway, that's my theory and I'm sticking to it.
    Hope this helps.

When I try to open iTunes app on iPhone 5, it starts to open then closes straight away, I upgraded to iOS 7.0.2 and it has been like this since I upgraded!

I also had this problem. Go to settings> itunes & app store, tap on your apple ID and sign out. Then open itunes store. It should now open.
Then sign back in again and the problem should be resolved

  • How can I install ipad apps on iphone 6 plus?

How can I install ipad apps on iphone 6 plus?

If it's an app made only for iPad, you can't.  Some developers make apps which will work on both devices (the + sign in the download button indicates).  Some apps are made specifically for one device, and there may be separate versions for each device (so you have to pay twice!).  You can install an iPhone-only app on an iPad (but it usually doesnt look great), but you cannot put a phone-only app on an iPad.

  • How can i access app store funds on ipad with different apple id to purchase app for iphone?

would like to have one, rather than two, apple id for both ipad and iphone. can't figure out how to delete id for iphone and assign same one as ipad.
want to purchase app on iphone. can't access funds available on ipad.

Singin into iCloud setting with tha same ID to sync infos (contacts, calendar etc...) if you want. Do the same for Message, facetime and iTunes&App Stores (that is what you ask for) settings.
