On the iPhone, is Settings > General > Restrictions > Installing Apps set to OFF? If so, enter your passcode and turn it back ON.

Moving apps in iTunes after 7.0.2 update

I just updated my iPhone 4S to 7.0.2. Now I can't seem to reorganize my apps within iTunes. I used to be able to move the icons around on my screens when I connect my phone to my laptop. Now those screens seem to be screenshots ~ I can't move the icons around, I can only move the entire screens. I don't want to move apps on the phone itself ~ I have 7 screens and it's too cumbersome on the phone. Can anyone help?

It's not real user friendly. Go into the Apps tab at the top of ITunes when your phone is plugged in. Double left click in the page (screen) that you wish to make changes. The "page" becomes larger. At this point you can drag your icons around your phone. I found it a bit clumsy at first but after 10 or so moves it became easier.

Help moving apps from iTunes to my iPod touch fourth generation.

I am trying to move an app from my computer to my iPod Touch 4th Generation using iTunes. It says I need to authorize my computer. I did and it just says it again. I tried deauthorizing it and authorizing it, restarting my computer. NOTHING IS WORKING.

Hi i have executed to system liker , exactly how it is written after i exported my app using Flash CC ( i ve used the same sdk in system linker ) , but i showed an error i think is simple :
SDK is missing file /Applications/Adobe Flash CC/AIR3.6/lib/aot/bin/ld64/ld64
I think it is because i moved the ld64 to ld64_orig and the creation of the syslink was not perfect , i ve checked in the folder "<sdk>/lib/aot/bin/ld64" the ld64 is there as a link .
but the problem is that the ld doest not exist in "/usr/bin/" .
so what can i do i think is simple ?/

Moving an entire iTunes library from PC to Mac

My Dell Inspiron is basically shot right now and I have to move my ENTIRE iTunes library (literally everything; music, music videos, podcasts, and apps for iOS devices) from it to my sister's MacBook Pro before the Dell is completely dead. My music is already on an external drive, but I think everything else (music videos, podcasts, and apps) is on the main hard drive, which I am planning to move to the external drive. I don't want to lose the data on my apps (such as game high scores and saved to-do lists). I don't want to have to restore and re-sync my iDevice as it takes a very long time. I also don't want to lose minor song information such as year, composer, genre, track number, and album artwork. Basically, I want my iTunes library on the MacBook Pro to be exactly like the one I had on the Dell.
How do I go about moving my entire iTunes library with everything intact as smoothly as possible with little or no problems from PC to Mac?

It's important that you copy the xml file inside the iTunes folder on Windows (Documents / Music) along with all your files. Then you have to transfer the iTunes folder into your Mac (usually is located inside the Music folder) and start iTunes. Inside iTunes pref make sure you select the right folder for your music. Another important thing is to have the same iTunes version on Windows and Mac when doing such operations. I hope that helps, bye

Moved my entire iTunes library to a new PC laptop from an old PC - iPod won't sync

I recieved a new Dell PC laptop for graduation and wanted to add my normal iTunes library from my old PC desktop. I moved my entire iTunes folder via a 16G flashdrive (in pieces, but accurately - the folder is 43G) to the laptop, and my up-to-date library was restored, play count and all. However, I decided to test out my iPod with the library, which should be the exact same library as before, by syncing a new song to the device. I plugged in my iPod to the computer, which iTunes recognized and acted as though it were syncing, but when I checked my iPod, the song did not show up on the device. It shows up in my iTunes library, but I can't figure out why iTunes won't sync with the device. I made sure that I moved EVERYTHING in the iTunes folder, so it should be recognizing the library as the same exact one as before. Help?!

You can only sync with one iTunes library. To change syncing libraries:
- Connect the iPod to your computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup.
Note that the backup that iTunes makes does not included synced media like apps and music.

The free trial is all I needed to migrate my iPod Touch library into my main iTunes library. For those that want to use this tool for the same needs there are some things that need to be moved manually, e.g. Apps. But you can do it within the program very easily. Also iBooks/PDFs etc. need to be moved manually. The help section will point you in the right direction.
No more switching iTunes libraries for me.

Can you organize apps within iTunes 11.1?

After upgrading to iOS7 on my 4S and upgrading to 11.1 on my mac.
From within iTunes, I can't seem to move the individual applications around. I can move whole pages and reorder them but not the apps?
Hopefully they haven't taken this away and it's just a user error. Am I alone?
Seems I can do this on the phone itself but find it easier to do it on the mac especially when moving apps across pages, etc.

I figured it out eventually but will have to learn to live wtih the interface.
Netchemendy, you're current in some ways. I love the control centre, the ability to have 'pages' within a folder, etc. Worth the upgrade right there. But then they tout the new Safari interface and just to get a new page you have to know to tap on the 'two squares' and then click the + sign in the middle of the page that doesn't really look like part of the interface.
Loosing respect. Oh well.

For the App Store icon check Settings>General>Restrictions. You may have restricted the installing of apps and the icon will disappear.
If that's not it, swipe from screen to screen as you may have moved the icon.
You can also reset the home screen layout and the icon will reappear - but the home screen will return to the way that it looked when you first activated your iPad.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.
More information is needed about the apps not syncing or downloading. Are you signed into the same ID on the iPad as your are using in iTunes on your computer and are you talking about iTunes on the computer being the problem?

Can I dowload my previous apps from App store/itunes?

Recently, I formatted my computer and during the process my iPhone got wiped out which mean I lost everything. Moving on.. is there a way I can download my previous purchased/downloaded apps through iTunes? Or is it gone like the rest of my data =/

Can't drag apps in iTunes 11

I have always organized my apps in iTunes and then sync to my devices. I wanted to rearrange my apps, and lo and behold, they aren't dragging. I haven't tried it since i had iTunes 11, so that's what I'm thinking is the problem. I can't organize on my iPad as easily, but I do know that option. I want to know if anyone else can't drag, and if so, what's the problem? (I can drag just fine to manually manage my music and video, and I do understand that you have to sync apps, but I'm talking about being able to organize within iTunes before syncing, like I always have)

It turned out my external hard drive that I had my iTunes on was formatted in a way that doesn't work with iTunes correctly. iTunes let me use it, and for some reason it worked but with wierd problems like dragging, etc. If you are using an external hard drive, try moving your files off it temporarily onto another hard drive, and then reformat your hard drive. I reformatted to Mac OS Journalled Case Sensitive. I moved my files back. I had to wipe everything off my iTunes and drag all the files back in though, so to make sure. (There might be a better way than what I did for that last step, but my method does work). I solved my own problem, but lol, I doubt that will give me any level points, ha ha. I am leaving this here though, because in all the research I did, no one even mentions this as a possible problem.

I saw a post by 'King Penguin' on another thread:
You can also do it via your computer's iTunes, by connecting and selecting the iPad on the left-hand sidebar (on iTunes 11 you can enable the sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), and on the right-hand side of iTunes on the Apps using the mini screen mockups to move your apps around the screens and into app folders.
So I've done this on more that one occasion - arranged the apps using iTunes, but when I sync the iPad, the apps on the device are still on the same place as they were before the sync.
I'm having a problem with my device that's preventing me from moving them around on the device. It seems to be 'dead' on a portion of the left side and as a result I'm unable to move the apps/folders from page to page.
I thought that arranging the apps using iTunes would be a good work around.
Any suggestions for troubleshooting the iTunes issues. I'll eventually take the iPad to have it serviced to check out the problem on the left side.

You will find that Movies and TV Shows being moved to your itunes will free up the largest amount of space. If IOS 6 is your objective, you may be able to re-download the Movies / Videos after the update.

I thought I resolved it, but the problem came back! And this time, re-starting Muse didn't help.
I was creating a vertical line to separate the sidebar from the main area, and when I extended the line down to where the footer guide is, the page started to expand and the navigation bar at the top started growing, while the links disappeared again. Now all links from the master page are again missing from every page but the master.
When I undid it, the navbar went back to its normal depth, but the text links in it did not return.
Any thoughts on how to fix this?
Also, it really wasn't my intention for the navigation bar to grow vertically as the page grows. Is there a way to prevent that?
