Moving audio 1/2 frame

Is it possible to move an audio track in the timeline one-half frame? It was recorded at 1080i 60i. I am using multicameras and wish to use one camera for the entire audio track. It was sent by the recording engineer to one camera but I guess there was a slight (1/2 frame) delay to the camera.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
David Perry

send the track in question to soundtrack pro, turn snapping off, drag to where you want it, export the selected track to your scratch drive as an aiff. import into FCP and drop it in the sequence.

  • IMovie moving audio clips when transitions are added

    iMovie moving audio clips when transitions are addedI have some video clips that need simple fades to black added at the end. However, whenever I add the fade out transition, iMovie does something insane. Instead of the last two seconds of video fading to black and the last two seconds of audio fading out, it seems that a random two seconds of audio from elsewhere in the clip is tacked onto the end and faded. This problem is nuts and I am having no luck finding a solution. Does anyone have one? This has happened with other transitions, but I’d settle for just getting a fade to black to work properly. Is this only a problem with Intel machines?

    The problem that you describe has come up frequently on this forum. There are lots of things people have tried, but no solution has been found, other than the workaround of extracting the audio, as Klaus 1 mentions, and manually adjusting the fade out. Some feel that it is an intel machine problem, but that is not clear.

  • How to sync/edit audio when using frame freeze or time remapping?

    how to sync/edit audio when using frame freeze or time remapping? in premiere pro cs6

    You need to give more information about what you want to happen to the audio when you freeze or time remap the associated video.
    Is it synch video?
    Is it music?
    Is it Voice?
    Generally .. you have to cut and design the audio around the video effect.

  • Moving Audio Clip less then 1 frame in Premiere

    Is it possible to move an audio clip less then one frame in premiere CS4.  I recorded and then remixed in Audition 3.  Live concert was also recorded in HDV on a Canon hv30.  I want to use the remixed audio with the video footage in place of the camera audio.  It was recorded hdv 30P so one frame is a significant amount of time from the audios point of view.  The audio and video are about half a frame apart.  The only thing I can think of is take the audio back into audition and shorten the lead in by the required amount.  I was hoping for a easier way.
    Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
    Ken

    Ken,
    Glad that it did work for you. Now, there are still some frame-specific things that can and cannot be done, as PrPro is frame-based, but for your need, it sounded like a good solution.
    Thanks for reporting success,

  • Strange audio on freeze frames that won't go away?

    So i create freeze frames, then when i play the 4-sec frame it makes a strange noise like a tape rewinding and this noise doesn't go away if i record a voiceover.
    I can't mute it either because according to my macbook there is no noise.
    And the sound jumps, so 4 seconds of audio is taken out from the following clip and the audio for the all the clips is moved by 4 seconds.
    Any help would be so welcome, thanks.

    Oh and i got a photo from iPhoto, added it to the end of the project library and miraculously the noise had gone, i then added a voice over.
    But then when i moved it to a different place (inbetween 2 clips) the noise came back.

  • Script for moving playhead to last frame, then exporting jpg?

    Hi,
    I have a lot of Flash files for which I need to export jpgs of their last frame. Could a kind soul out there guide me on how to write a command for moving the timeline's playhead to the last frame, then exporting a jpg (at Full Document Size, 72 dpi, 96% quality)?
    A million thanks,
    Kevin

    private function snapshotLastFrame():void
    gotoAndStop( this.totalFrames );
    _bitmapData                         = new BitmapData( stage.stageWidth, stage.stageHeight );
    _bitmap                              = new Bitmap( _bitmapData );
    _bitmapData.draw ( stage );
    saveImageJPG( _bitmapData, "test.jpg", 96 );
    public function saveImageJPG( bitmapData:BitmapData, fileName:String, quality:int ):void {
                this.jpgEncoder = new JPGEncoder( quality );
                this.fileReference = new FileReference();
                this.fileReference.save( this.jpgEncoder.encode( bitmapData ), fileName + ".jpg" );
    Keep in mind that you need a few extra libraries to be able to create a jpeg.. (AS3CoreLib) can be found at googleCode.

  • Trouble loading audio clips after frame 1

    Hey, everyone!
    The project I'm working on consists of a bunch of pages, each with narration.  Each page is a separate frame on my main timeline.  Due to all kinds of issues I was having, I am now loading in the audio via actionscript, rather than placing an instance of it into an object and going from there.
    The issue I am now having is that when I tried to simulate a download, the movie would sit on frame zero until all audio was loaded, so it took a long time to get to my preloader, and by then the movie was just about finished loading.  It was suggsted that I uncheck "export at frame 1" on my audio files, but now I am getting errors that I am making a call to a possibly undefined method (random audio file name of choice).
    If I am loading my my audio via actionscript, do I have to load it all in on frame 1?  And if so, is there any way for my movie to get to my preloader before trying to load things?
    I have also tried setting my publish settings to export my classes on frame 2 or 3, in the hopes of it getting as far as my preloader before stopping, but no luck so far.
    Any ideas?

    I'm not sure I understand that last part --
    Here's my setup:
    I have my raw audio files, which are each linked to separate classes, named Frame1, Frame2, etc.  Those classes are then called from separate movieclips (which also contain some actionscript to cue things in the movie at the proper time, etc).
    So, do I put every movie clip that contains the call to the classes (the movieclips that are actually used in the project) on frame 1 (or 2, or whichever frame I have it exporting classes from), or do I put all the raw audio clips on that frame, or do I just write in code to have random varables call in each class name...?

  • FCE issues: editing audio, displaying video frames

    Hello friend.
    How do I display the video frame in the timeline? I have selected it but all it shows are a bunch of boxes with Xs in them. Why?
    Also, I want to manipulate the audio in this clip but I don't see where you do that. I see the waveforms and I click on them to modify them, but nothing happens.
    thanks!
    Mac Mini   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    If you want to see a Filmstrip of every single frame select Filmstrip in the Timeline Options and while you are looking at the timeline hold down Command and + for a few seconds.
    Double-click the audio track and it will open the Audio Editor in the Viewer.

  • Audio is 1 frame longer than video after encode

    My .ac3 files are coming up 1 frame longer than they should be on SOME encodes. Unfortunately, I can't see any noticeable pattern to which files it happens to. It occurs on anything from audio-only files created in Soundtrack to an FCP video/audio export. It's happened on both a DV sequence as well as a DVCPRO HD sequence. It's a bit unnerving to see the audio longer than the video, even if it is one frame because the end product is slightly (1 frame, I'd reckon) out of sync. I've tried setting a specific out point in my sequence and got the same effect.
    Does anyone have any ideas? Anyone else having their audio come up 1 frame too long on a Dolby encode?
    Thanks,
    Cameron

    Anyone else having their audio come up 1 frame too long on a Dolby encode?
    Yes.
    The rest is longwinded with no answer to the problem.
    First the system config.
    Dual 1.8 GHz PCI-X G5
    4 GB Ram
    Media drive: 800 GB Raid FW 800
    (4 discs, 2 on internal bus, 2 on LaCie FW 800 card)
    162 MB/s Read, 91 MB/s Write.
    FCP 5.1.2
    Compressor 2.3
    DVD SP 4.1.1
    I created a 16 minute NTSC DVC PRO50 sequence, audio at 48KHz 16 bit.
    Not having a person recorded talking for that length of time I created a series of one frame "pops" of color bars and tone, followed by 10 seconds of video and audio slug.
    This sequence was copied and pasted to fill the timeline with a single frame of the "pop" at the very end.
    Everything perfectly in sync.
    I nested the sequence and rendered.
    No matter how the 16 minute timeline was exported and compressed to MPEG-2, 7 Mb/s and Dolby 2.0 192 Kb/s.
    (direct export to Compressor, export of audio and video separately or sequence export, then to Compressor)
    there was always an audio sync error once imported to the DVD SP timeline.
    Not an entire frame out, but on zooming to max in the timeline in SP, about 7/8 of a frame extra.
    If I exported just the last 1:21 min of the NTSC DVC PRO50 timeline, and compressed with the same settings, the extra audio length was about 3/4 of a frame over.
    Next I exported the NTSC DVC PRO50 timeline as a DVCPRO HD100 1080 60i QT sequence.
    Cut the last 1:21 min and imported to Compressor.
    Compressed as 19 MB/s MPEG-2 and Dolby 2.0 192 Kb/s.
    Created a new DVD SP HD project and brought the files into the timeline.
    Zoomed in at the end, and the error in sync was minimal, not perfect, but difficult to make out even at full zoom.
    Anyone have any suggestions to get things, at least Standard Definition, perfectly in sync?

  • Missing audio for one frame

    Okay, been using Premiere for well over a decade now and this problem has plagued me for years.  I've never found time to actually make a comment about it until now; I just would find a work around.
    This has been going on since 2006, when I started using 1394 to capture video after a Matrox card went crispy.  Sometimes, seemingly at random, I lose one frame of audio on clips that I capture.  My captures rarely exceed 60 seconds.  I usually capture some head and tail black along with a slate if available, the issue could still be happening but I can't hear it since it's quiet anyway.  Here's an example:
    I zoomed in on the one channel to point it out; it spans both channels.  If I bring this in to Audition, the space times out to exactly one frame (0.033 seconds).  If I capture the same piece again, it's possible to have another frame drop but I've never had it at the same location twice.  I've had this from Premiere CS2 to 4.  I'm capturing off a Panasonic AJ-D250 directly to Premiere, no third party card.
    Here's the first kicker: a completely separate system using a different model (still Pan. tho) deck in the same building has the same issue. I could bring this tape to that system and get similar results.
    Kicker #2: I now have a completely new computer and have upgraded to 5.5.  The above was captured with that system.  The system also came with a different editor on it (a major one that I am not overly fond of and won't mention here) but that captures via 1394 without this issue.
    I think I can rule some things out but the common items left are: 1394 capturing, using a Panasonic deck for playback and capturing into Premiere.  I've noted posts around the Internet describing the same issue dated as early as 2004.
    Thoughts or ideas on how to eliminate this problem?

    So no other decks Firewire capable in my building besides the Panasonics (AJ-D250's and AJ-D455's) but I came across something worth posting.
    I downloaded and have been using the DVIO.exe program and have used it for about two weeks without any audio drops.
    I hope to have a 1394 device here sometime to try capturing off that.

  • Moving Audio by a subframe

    I'm trying to sync up two audio tracks in FCE 3.5.
    They are very close, but are about 1/2 frame apart. I cannot figure out how to move one of the audio tracks by less than a frame.
    Is there any way to do this?
    Thanks,
    DJ

    You can mark In points down to 1/100th of a second. Open the clip into the viewer, zoom into the In point. Hold the Shift key, grab the In point marker and drag it. That will slip the audio content of the clip.

  • Audio clip dropping frames/skipping

    I opened up a project in Premiere Pro CC, and the audio waveforms were gone although the track was enabled. When I opened the audio track in the source monitor, the entire audio clip was completely compressed from 3:04 to 1:33 and was skipping pretty badly when I played it. I tried converting it to mp3 and aiff but with no luck. How do I fix this?

    The audio should be 48k, 16 bit, stereo (or mono). But the sample rate should be 48k.
    32-bit floating point refers to video rendering, not audio.
    What school is this, BTW? And tell us about the networking configuration, please, so we can try to figure out your dropped frames issue.

  • FCPX 2 camera shoot, audio 1/2 frame out of sync

    We’re having trouble syncing audiop between two Panasonic HD cameras. We are both set to 1080i 30 fps but when we try to sync the video, we find that the audio from one camera is 1/2 a frame out of sync with the other camera. If it was a full frame, the fix would be pretty easy but we’re stumped by the 1/2 frame. So two questions:
    1. Why is the audio 1/2 a frame out of sync?
    2. Any suggestions for ways to fix this?

    The first thing you need to check is the frequency of the audio. In FCPX, it should be 48KHz. How far off the sync is will be determined by the length of the clips.
    If your audio is NOT 48K, you can try selecting the clip, detaching the audio (if it's not already separate from the video), select the audio and select Conform Speed from the speed from the Retime menu. Or you can manually retime the audio to match the video by setting markers on the video and audio separately, then Retime the audio with snapping turned on - it will snap immediately to your "sync points."

  • Flash moving pics in a frame

    I've imported a PSD file with layers into Flash. Now I want
    to create a movie file with photos moving and changing within a
    masked frame on the page. Is this possible?

    Hi Gerald,
    I did try both of those options, but I am still only moving the box..I have tried switching to the direct selection tool..taking my time holding it down on the box...but, still I get the box or the box on top. I know what you are saying about the layers, but it is merely a giant text box over a smaller box with a vector image in it...I just want to move the vector image and not mess with the text...I have to say I love InDesign, but quark did this so much easier....
