Moving average price (average price)
Dear All,
Is there any standard report in SAP to have moving average price (average price) for single material and for specific period?
Please let me know the details.
Amit
Go to MB5B report give the period you want
and calculate MAP manually from fields Total value and Total Stock.

Moving average price/standard price via iDoc
Hi,
I would like to distribute moving average price and standard price on price change (price changed via transaction event or MR21) to external system.
Is there a way to accomplish iDoc (MATMAS) triggering on price change?
Any idea on how to track changes?
Searching through forums I found that MATMAS will not trigger on MAP change via transactional event, GR, GI...
ThnxDear Amit,
yes - I understand how the system calculates the MAP. However, the receiving system is a SAP WMS - In WM there is no inventory management nor FI/CO. The valuation would always be zero. So I'm interested how can I update it via ALE?
It works for the first time if I have no valuation (accounting) view in the material and I send an IDoc with the view definition segment and a value for VERPR. But updating isn't possible.

Moving average price & Standard price
Hi every body
For one material some times we use moving avareage price and standard price for that material
Which scenerio we use this & why we have to use this, can any body explain me
ThanksHi Tarun
Both, Moving average Price and Standard Price are Price Control Indicators.
It Indicates the price control used to valuate the stock of a material.
Standard Price : It is a constant price at which a material is valuated without taking goods movements and invoices into account. It is normally used for finished Products - Fert ( Vlauation Class - 7920)
Moving Average Price : It is a price that changes in consequence of goods movements and the entry of invoices, and which is used to valuate a material.
The moving average price is calculated by dividing the value of the material by the quantity of material in stock. It is automatically recalculated by the system after each goods movement or invoice entry.
It is Normally used for Raw Materials -- ROH ( Valuation Class -3000)
Rewards points ,if usefull

Moving Average price & Std price
Hai friends,
Any body tell me the difference bet Moving Avg Price & Std Price...
Actually why we are entering the Std or MAP in Material master..
What is the Impact in PO...
Thanks
RosHello Roshan,
<b>Difference bet Moving Avg Price & Std Price...</b>
Material price in Material master is represented by Material price Indicator, The main purpose of material price is to valuated the material stock for financial transaction in company. There are two procedures available in the standard system:
<b>Valuation at standard price</b> : The price is decided by the organization (Costing / Finance / Purchasing / Marketing dept) which is fixed for material, it will not be changed by any inventory or financial transaction, but you can change it with special price change procedure.
This std price is represented with price indicator S
Valuation using a standard price has the following features:
- All inventory postings are carried out at the standard price
- Variances are posted to price difference accounts
- Variances are updated
- Price changes can be monitored
<b>Valuation at moving average price or (if the material ledger has been activated) periodic unit price</b> : This price is not decided by any organization (but in come case it will decide i.e. to upload the initial stock) but it will automatically updated by the Invnetory transactions (i.e. Goods receipt, Invoice receipt) or financial transaction (Debit/credit material). It will keep changes automatically when there is price difference.
This MAP is represented with price indicator V
Valuation using a moving average price results in the following:
- Goods receipts are posted at the goods receipt value.
- The price in the material master is adjusted to the delivered price.
- Price differences occur only in exceptional circumstances.
- Manual price changes are usually unnecessary. However, they are possible.
<b>Actually why we are entering the Std or MAP in Material master..</b>
We are maintaining material price for material stock valuation and inventory transaction valuation.
<b>What is the Impact in PO...</b>
The material price does not have impact on PO, but definately it has impact on inventory transactions i.e. GR, GI, IR debit/credit material.

Hope this helps.

What is the difference between WTR1 stock price and Price, some time both are zero?
what is the difference between WTR1 stock price and Price, some time both are zero?
please adviceHi,
Are you referring these two field in WTR1 table? If yes,
(Figure 1 There is no price defined and received with zero price)
1. Based on price list, this info price will be updated. If there is no price, this field is zero
2. If you receive any item without price (for GRPO with zero price), then field is zero
3. If you receive item with price, based on quantity, the moving average price will be updates at item cost.

Moving average price as price control in material master: Erroneous entries
Dear All,
Recently we did a price control change from standard price to moving average price for one of our clients and scenario testing was done. We came across the following issue at the IR point and this error occur time to time ( not for all POs )Following steps were followed
Scenario
1. Create a PO for 1000 Kg of material A @ 1USD
2.GR the purchase order- at this point correct values are passed to stock account
3.consumed 250 Kg from the above material and from the same batch- correct values are passed to the accounts correctly
4.invoice verification is done for the above PO with a price variance of 100 USD. The error occur at this time ( some times )
Correct entry:
Dr GR/IR account 1000
Dr Stock account 75 (Price variance is charged proportionately charge to the balance stock)
Dr price variance 25 (Price variance is charged proportionately on the consumed stock)
Cr Vendor 1100
But sometimes the value does not pass accurately for the same PO. Accounting entries are as follows.
( this is same scenario with new purchase order with different master records )
Dr GR/IR account 1000
Dr Stock account 100 (Total price variance is charged to the stock account and its incorrect this should be only 75 as explain above )
Cr Vendor 1100
This error occurs sometimes even though the vendor master record and purchase orders are sand same as the time of pass correct entries . All these time GR based invoice verification tick has activated in PO as well as vendor master .
Appreciate your advice.
Tks
Sandagomi
Edited by: Sandagomi Ranasinghe on May 9, 2010 9:25 AMThank you for the information. But this is not the system behavior , system proportionately add the price variance to the stock qty which is remaining in the stock also it proportionately charge the price variance to the price variance account which is consumed before the invoice verification. But time to time it passes the incorrect entries.
eg , Create a PO for 100KG @ 1USD
GR 100KG
Consumed 25
IR , here we IR at higher value than the PO price
PO value is USD 100
IR value USD 100 + 12 = 112
Correct IR entry : Vendor CR 112
GR/IR Dr 100
Stock DR 8 ( 75% of the stk is reaming in stk so relevant variance is USD 8 )
Price variance DR 4 ( 25% of the consumed , so relevant variance is USD 4 )
And this is accurate with accounting principles and standards .
Actually system correctly calculate the above entries . but some times it pass the incorrect entry , this is my issue.
In the erroneous entry it does not segregate the price variance , If we consider the same scenario as above at the time of erroneous entry the system pass entries as below:
Vendor CR 112
GR/IR Dr 100
Stock DR 12 ( add 100% which is incorrect )
This is incorrect . -
How can calculate tatal price (sales price + Tax)?
Hi,
I set the pricing procedure and result of this can be appear in the net value as follow:
Net Value = Sales Price - Discount.
But I defined tax condition type that system calculated but it did not show in the sales order screen.
I know , I can not see tax in the net value , but I want to know:
1- How can I see the result of all Tax condition in the sales order?
2- Is it tax filed in the sales order?(I can not find it yet)
3- How I can have total price in the sales order, because I want to create invoice in VF01?
4- Can I have total price (Sales price - Discount + Tax) in the VF01?
Thanks a lot.Maintain Tax Condition Type as statistical in the Pricing Procedure. You will get Tax value in the Tax Tab at Item Level.
Also maintain Total Price at a new step after all the Condition Types so that you will get the Total Value at Sales Order Level. While creating Invoice ,you will get Total Price through Copy Control.
Best Regards,

Moving average and standard price both maintained
Hi,
I have maintained both moving average price and standard price in material master, price control is V
is there any impact of standard price any where in the system.
Regards,
AliHi,
The system considers only the price maintained in price control V or S.So Which ever price is maintained it will consider only that. As an example if you maintain price control as S and give standard price, So when you do GR against PO with different prices, You can see that system even calculates moving avg price for statistical purpose and same can be seen in material master. For for the transaction purpose only standard price will be considered.

Distribute moving average or standard price via ALE/IDoc
Dear experts,
do you see any way to distribute the moving average price via ALE? It is inside the material master IDoc but it won't update in the receiving system.
We need it for a decentral WM so that people can see the valuation of the material when they do inventory counting (to judge differences in LX22).
Any idea how to unlock the material master for update?
GunterDear Amit,
yes - I understand how the system calculates the MAP. However, the receiving system is a SAP WMS - In WM there is no inventory management nor FI/CO. The valuation would always be zero. So I'm interested how can I update it via ALE?

Why does the system need two average costs - 'Average' and 'Average Rates'?
Hello Gurus!
The documentation does give definitions for 'Average' and 'Average Rates' cost types, but at a very basic level.
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/A60725_05/html/comnls/us/cst/settask.htm
I would like to know why the system needs two costs? How are they calculated and how are they used?
Thanks!Hello,
I can suggest you a workaround that will help you keep only the 64-bit version of Photoshop.
Visit "Uninstall a Program" in Windows 7 Control Panel and uninstall Photoshop completely.
Visit this page and download trial version of Photoshop.
Run the installer manually and choose the 64-bit version only (uncheck 32-bit version).
Launch the product and specify your Adobe ID credentials.
The product will switch to non-trial (i.e. full) mode when it recognizes your Adobe ID.

Show both Moving Average and Standard Price of an item in Report Composer
Hello
I do follow all my items at standard price. But i wish to get on the same report both the standard price and the moving average price.
How can i do so :
1 - either by a default report
2 - Or by using report composer
3 - By using a SQL Query
Thanks
StéphaneThanks but is there a way to get both data on the same report ?
The solution you gave me allows me only to output two different reports....I don't mind working with a vlookup from time to time but on a daily basis, this is a bit laborious
Thanks for your continuous support

In sales order there are two pricess one is base price +fibrication price
hi
I am facing a problem in sale order b1 when i am putting the unit price it come but i want first enter base price and then fibrication price = unit price of material.supplementary invoice always generated on the basic of base price..Pl guide me how to customized these two pricess.....
Thanks and Regards
SachinHi Sachin
What Datta said is correct. You can do one thing that the price in the column "Unit Price" should be a combination of Base Price in the user defined field 1 + Fabrication price in the user defined field 2. Put a formatted search for the Unit price column and make it refresh regularly. These two user defined fields should be before the Unit Price.
So first you will enter the base price then fabrication price this will be combined into unit price during the query execution and will be entered into unit price column automatically. I think this will solve your problem.
