Moving Between LightRoom & PS5

I just installed a SSD to use solely as my scratch disc for PS5. Now, when I open an image from LightRoom to edit in Photoshop they image comes up and PS5 crashes.
When I open an image directly in PS5 it runs fine.Is it just coincidental that this started happening right after I installed the SSD?

Could you tell us more of the symptoms? "It won't work" isn't particularly enlightening.

I am wondering why when I try to edit a file in photoshop it will only open when I choose the render using Lightroom option. If I choose open anyway it simply does nothing. Same thing if I choose open as smart object nothing happens. I am have the latest updates. Using latest version of lightroom and Photoshop CS5.1. Can anyone shed some light on my issue?

Moving between Lightroom and Elements Editor

I am having a problem moving my Lightroom 4 adjusted images to Elements 11. It wont work, although it was working fine recently with Elements 10

I opened a .dng image in LR and then opened it in the Develop module. I clicked on Crop Overlay and then on the ‘As Shot’ drop down menu (the lock is closed) and cropped to 11 x 17 and clicked ‘Done’-.
I click Cntl-E and the image opens in CC. There I click on Image > Image Size and the Image Size is 13.288 inches by 20.533 inches.
Why does the image size change?
I believe there is a menu to control the size of the image and I've looked everywhere I can think of in LR and CC, I googled various descriptions and I checked two of Scott Kelby's books, but I just can't figure out how to keep the image a consistent size when moving between LR and CC.

In Lightroom all editing is undoable/nondestructive.
Hence a crop of 3x2 is not inches, centimetres, pixels or anything else. It is jst a ratio. When a file is exported, either to PS or disk, then the crop ratio has size determined in respect of pixels and inches or cms.
So my 6000x5000 pixel image I will crop to 3x2 that leaves (before exporting) a 6000x4000 file.
Now when exported it can be set to export at
100pixels per inch and will end up at 60x40" when printed.
200pixels per inch will end up at 30x20"
300ppi will end at 20x13.3"
You will notice in the Crop Tool there are no size denominations such as inches or centimetres as an image file only has pixels and the determination of size is done through exporting or printing.

Default layout and styles can be set by setting up a sheet with your settings and saving as a user template (File > Save As Template). I don't know of a way to set defaults for moving between cells in a table.

FCE freezes when moving between clips! Help?

Not with all transitions, but with some, sometimes even moving between clips from the same batch of film(!) FCE will stop playing through in the timeline, sound will jerk to a halt, and I'll then see what I call the "Colorful wheel of death" as FCE tries to deal with it and stops responding, making me Force Quit, which is a Jedi ability I now have much use in, btw... Be sure everything is rendered before you playback. Be sure none of the windows (particularly Canvas) are overlapping.
Move your RT playback quality to low.
Sometimes it helps to reduce the opacity of an offending clip to 99% (via the motion tab in the viewer)before playing your sequence in the timeline. I can't explain why this works but its saved me alot.

How large is your HD & how much space do you have left? Make sure you are using the latest version of APE.
You should also contact Adobe Support and/or post in the Adobe Forums since it's their product.

Catalog sharing between Lightroom and Photoshop Elements

Can the catalog be shared between Lightroom 2 and Photoshop Elements 10?

Lightroom and PSE cannot share catalogs (although the same image can be in both)
PSE catalogs can be upgraded to Lightroom catalogs, but then changes made in Lightroom are not reflected in PSE. You cannot go the other way, Lightroom catalogs cannot be converted to PSE catalogs.
Lastly, I strongly recommend that you use only a single "organizing" application. The idea of using two (or more) different "organizing" applications will lead to confusion and errors and lack of synchronization.

I would like Adobe to develop a programme that sits between Lightroom and CS6

I have Lightroom 1, 2, 3 & 4 (which I can't use at the moment because it is too slow) I also have CS3.
I am an enthusiastic amatuer and don't need the catalogue facility in Lightroom (which can be exasperating at times) and I don't need 90% of the stuff on CS6 as I do most of my editing in Adobe Camera Raw.
I would like to see Adobe develop a programme that sits between Lightroom and CS6 where the Lightroom layout is kept much the same only instead of a catalogue have a browser in its place, I would also like to see the clone tool & the healing brush replaced with proper ones that work like the ones in CS6, I would also like to see an adjustment brush with a facility to invert my selection or some sort of masking, these are the tools I use most often in photoshop.
Does anyone feel the same as me and if so how do we contact Adobe to let them know.

Difference between Lightroom 5 and 5.7

What is the difference between Lightroom 5 and 5.7?
In 5 I can see the words "Pictures " and "Lightroom Pictures" on my screen but on my laptop (5.7) it shows the pictures are in there, but doesn't show the label "Lightroom Pictures"

Yes the two programs are different. Lightroom CC has a number of new features added to it. They include HDR and panorama creation, brushes for the graduated filter and the radial filter, face recognition, support for new cameras, just to mention a few. Lightroom CC is a free upgrade for those who have subscribed to the creative cloud plan. Lightroom 6 (the standalone version) is a paid upgrade. The price is $79.

I know I must have some setting(s) incorrect because there is a color shift between Lightroom and CS.

Shortcut for moving between Panels on Modal Dialog boxes eg: Cell Options (OS X)

Is there an existing shortcut for moving between the tabs of modal dialog boxes. For example Cmd+Opt+'B' brings up Cell Options dialog but that is actually the shortcut for the "Text" Panel how can I navigate (using keyboard keys) to the other Panels {"Strokes and Fills", "Rows and Columns", "Diagonal Lines"}.
Note:
I realise I can create shortcuts for the Table…> Cell Options…> Diagonal Lines items but these shortcuts will not work in the context of the Cell Options Modal Dialogue box.

For those who come looking b/s they had the same question:
As a bonus once one of these key sequences is pressed the tab heading area comes into focus so the arrow keys work for navigating tabs. So even for long list of Paragraph Style tabs which number greater than 10 still easy to navigate to them eleventh to someteenth ones.
