my old hdd crashed corrupt registry .i have reinstalled on another drive, i can access some files but where can i copy my contacts from? c: program files mozilla firefox .........?

Unless he had other contacts on the SIM, contacts come from Live (Hotmail), Exchange, Facebook or LinkedIn. So he might want to sign on to those other accounts.

Use AIM for Mac and use the Export and Import features.
Other than that it is a question on making sure every Single Buddy has more than just their Screen name in the IChat Address Card so it is added to the Address Book and dragging them back from there

How can I check my MobileMe mail & contacts from another iPhone?

How can I check in on my MobileMe email & contacts from another iPhone or iPad, not my own? When I go to Me.com, the only option it offers is to set up the iPhone with my account -- which is NOT what I want. Is there a workaround or another path to login that doesn't force the "setup"' page on me?

What a dumb decision. It would seem sensible that a mobile visitor to me.com should be able to proceed to the "regular" website and check mail, etc., through the web interface. Obviously -- well, okay, maybe not, but it puzzles me! You might be (as I tried, yesterday) vising the site through the browser on your wife's iPhone, which is already set up with an account there (and it would require cancelling her log-in and completely resetting her iPhone to proceed on the path Apple now requires!), or ya might be using a friend's iPad (my next attempt, a few minutes later!), or etc. etc. etc. Ooops! Brick wall! No options.
Seems like a counter-productive decision, one that's certain to be counter to common-sense needs and goals of Apple users; I can't be the first person to find this dead-end to be frustrating and contrary to expectations. Okay, I have my rant finished, now.
Apple, what was the problem that you were so determined to "fix" with this, ummm, feature? Howsabout a little tiny button hidden in greyscale that allows you to contine to the website, or a forcing URL that bypasses the mobile "set-up" interception? Help?

You will have to do it via either a computer or online storage such as Dropbox. You cannot transfer data directly from phone to iPhone.

I have set up several Groups in my iPhone but some of my contacts are in "inappropriate" groups.
How can I move a contact from one group to another without deleting and retyping?

How did you set up the Groups on your iPhone?
Are you syncing contacts with the Address Book application on your Mac?
If so, place the contact in the appropriate Group in the Address Book on your Mac and then sync.

Moving contacts from excel to cellolar

I have a new nokia 6120. I saved the contact names of my old phone in excel file. I want to update the contacts from the excel to the new phone. I tried using the nokia pc suite but I couldn’t find the option of loading contacts from excel.
Is it possible?

Whilst in outlook go to:
import & export > import from another program or file > comma separated value file (windows) > Next and then browse for your file and follow through the prompts.
There is also an option to import from excel, this may work better.
It won't work if your data is incorrectly formatted, i'm not an expert on this so you will have to give google a try.

Contacts not visible after moving contacts from SI...

I have express music 5310. i had moved my contacts from sim to phone memory. After which these contacts are not visible. These are not available on the sim anymore. They are not visible on contact lists too..
Any help on retrieving these would be very helpful

iphone stores nothing to SIM.
The iphone is designed to be synced to your comptuer.
You should have been syncing your contacts with your computer from the very beginning. The contacts should be on your computer in Outlook, address book or whatever program you set up to sync.

Moving contacts from Blackberry Pearl to Macbook Air

I still have a Blackberry Pearl as my phone but have just upgraded to a Macbook Air as my laptop (from using a PC).
Any advice on how I move my contacts from the Pearl to the Air ?

Moving contacts from nokia 6300 to Iphone 4

hi,
sorry if I'm making a new discussion uneccessarily but I can't find an adequate solution on the internet at the moment, so any advice would be much appreciated. I'm trying to move my contacts from my nokia 6300 to my iphone 4. I'm running a pc on windows xp with the latest Itunes (11.1.3), Iphone has latest os.
I have used the nokia pc suite to 'syncronise' my contacts to my default windows address book so they are on my computer but I'm stuck on the second step from computer to Iphone. I was planning to plug in my Iphone and sync my contacts across by some button on under the 'info' tab in Itunes.. but itunes says 'your contacts are being synced with your Iphone over the air from Icloud. over-the-air settings can be changed on your Iphone'. my problem is that i am not using The Icloud, I've triple in my settings.

any solutions for my specific problem or any completely different way would be more than helpful.

Ok I managed it, so in case anyone else has a similar problem and sees this, here are the steps.
1. In your Contacts section of the Nokia, Options>Mark>Mark All.
2. Options>Manage>Phone to Memory Card.
3. Now your memory card has your contacts in .vcf format.
4. Connect via data cable to Macbook.
5. Once the icon shows up (Takes 10-15 secs), open it and under Other, see the folder Contacts.
6. Copy to desktop (or wherever)
7. Disconnect data cable.
8. Import into Address Book (Figure out how you wanna handle duplicates...merge, use old or use new) I chose Use New
9. Plug in the Iphone, sync through Itunes.
10. Done!

I've just got a new phone and want to transfer my contacts from my iphone to the new phone but can't work out how to move my contacts to the SIM card to transfer them.
I tried synching my contacts to Yahoo via itunes but it only synched the contacts from the SIM not the phone.
I don't have outlook on my laptop.

The iPhone does not support storing contacts on the SIM card which is very limited to a name and a couple of phone numbers and maybe an email address for each contact.
The iPhone supports syncing contacts with Outlook 2003, 2007, or 2010 along with syncing calendar events and notes, or with the address book app used by Outlook Express with XP and by Windoze Mail with Vista and Windoze 7 called Windoze Contacts.
Before syncing contacts with Windoze Contacts if Windoze Contacts is empty and not being used, enter one contact in Windoze Contacts before the first sync for this data. This will provide a merge prompt with the first sync for this data with Windoze Contacts which you want to accept.

Moving Contacts from I-Pod back to Computer

I recently purchased a new MacPro. I no longer have access to my "old" Address Book on the old computer. Is there some way that I can move my contacts from my I-Pod Classic back to the new computer or do I have to establish all my contacts manually again in the new computer? Will a simple synch of the I-Pod to the new computer transfer all of my contacts to my new MacPro?

1. Make sure iPod is set up to be used as an external hard disk.
2. Connect iPod to your computer. The iPod appears as a hard disk on your desktop or in a Finder window.
3. Open the iPod hard disk.
4. Open the folder named "Contacts".
5. Find the vCard for the contact you want.
6. Drag the vCard to the desktop.
