Moving content from apple Tv to computr

Hi,
I have purchased some movies that now sit on my Apple TV. I would like to find a way to move them to my iMac. Can someone help me with this.
thanks

They should have synced over automatically to the machine the AppleTV is set to sync with (won't if only set to stream).

    Does anybody succeeded in moving content from one content area to another area?
    It is not possible using standard portal functionality.

    We're planning some cross-content area operations for the next release.

  • Restore content from Apple TV to HDD

    I've been synching content between the Apple TV and an external drive. The external drive failed. Does anyone know if you can restore the content from the Apple TV back to a new hard drive array?

    Not easily, if your content is valuable consider visiting a data recovery specialist that is familiar with macs.

  • Erasing content from Apple TV

    We have an apple tv that has always been hooked up to our pc (our library of movies and tv shows is on that machine). For some reason, the pc no longer sees the apple tv. We've tried all kinds of fixes and can't figure it out. The apple tv hard drive is almost full, so, as a quick fix, I was hoping to delete most of its content, using itunes on my mac...since I can see the apple tv there. I thought that synching to my mac would remove the content from the apple tv that I didn't purchase but it is still there. How do I erase it? Thank you.

    On the ATV, go to Settings => Computers. Tell it to undo the link to your syncing computer. It will warn you it will delete everything. Then just do it.

  • Moving content from ipod to comp

    Is it possible to move songs that are on your ipod to a new computer without having the original computer?

    Hello there,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
    There are several ways you can pull the music off your iPod and onto iTunes. The first link below provides step-by-step instructions for the direct method if you have a PC as well as a few third party applications (for both the Mac and PC) if you choose to go that route instead. You can also do a simple Google search for "copy music from iPod to computer" and you should receive a number of sites that can help you out.
    Just make sure that when you have your iPod plugged into your computer, that you don't hit "Erase and Sync" before completing the task of copying your music over.
    Also, if you have any purchased music, you will probably have to re-authorize your computer by heading to the Store drop down menu and choosing "Authorize computer."

  • GET_FILE Error: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException when moving content from tier1 to tier 2 storage

    Purpose: to migrate all the ACTIVE records from tier1 storage to tier 2 storage.
    A have applied MLR 11 patch i.e Patch 20624268: WEBCENTER CONTENT BUNDLE PATCH 11.1.1.8.11
    My Configurations
    Tier 1 intradoc.cfg configuration
    VaultDir=/u01/app/oracle/oracle/product/11.1.8/fmw/user_projects/domains/wcc_domain/ucm/cs/vault/
    WeblayoutDir=/u01/app/oracle/oracle/product/11.1.8/fmw/user_projects/domains/wcc_domain/ucm/cs/weblayout/
    I then changed the above parameters from TIer 1 to Tier2 as follows
    VaultDir=/u01/tier1_storage/vault
    WeblayoutDir=/u01/tier1_storage/weblayout
    Then rebooted the machine. Now when i try to search for all the older records which were stored on Tier 1 above using GET_FILE

    <soap:Body xmlns:ns1="http://www.oracle.com/UCM">

    </ns2:Service>
    </ns2:GenericResponse>
    </env:Body>
    </env:Envelope>
    Problem
    The biggest problem is that i am not able to search older records which are stored in tier1 storage using GET_FILE, But if i check in new records to Tier2 i am able to use GET_FILE to search them. I must be able to search both Tier1 and Tier 2 Storage content files using GET_FILE. To reproduce the error, change the vault and weblayout path from intradoc.cfg,reboot then try to use GET_FILE to search for records on the previous path, then the you will get the above  error. I tried to create partition and storage rules but i am not successfull. I am not so sure exactly what to change here. Please advice

    Hi 2611729
    For searching content items service is GET_SEARCH_RESULTS and for downloading the file its GET_FILE
    I dont think changing the configuration value will serve the prupose over here. You need to move the contents from one location to other and going by the explanation you have provided that movement has not happened. Every content item has a metadata called xStorageRule which mentions the location where file is stored. In your case, though you've changed the configuration setting the metadata value is still of tier1 for older content items.
    You have changed the default value and thats the reason contents are getting stored in tier2 storage now and you are able to access them via search. Since for older items xStorageRule holds older value which is different that current one you are not able to search.
    However, i belive you're trying to move the contents from tier1 to tier2 storage since contents in tier1 storage have crossed X days and might not be accessed frequently by users.
    Below mentioned option might work.
    Retain your configuration setting for valut and weblayout as earlier.
    1. Create a new storage rule Tier2Rule pointing to tier2
    2. Archive your contents using Archiver applet.
    3. Import the contents from created archive using applet and during import change the metadata xStorageRule to new storage rule Tier2Rule. This moves all your content onto tier2.
    4. Checkin new documents and it gets stored in tier1 location. I assume default storage rule will point to tier1.
    5. While searching using seach forms use the metadata StorageRule and it will provide dropdown of list (like tier1rule, tier2rule and so on). Select and perform the search.
    For download using GET_FILE, i'm not sure whether by passing xStorageRule it will work or not. You'll  have to try it out by small POC or customize the GET_FILE as required.
    I've not tried this approach earlier but by system-wise understanding it should work.
    Also, please refer UCM Backup strategy this discussion thread and others in the forum. Take a look at SAM-QFS which does this job transparently or any other solution in-line to that.

  • Moving email from apple mail to outlook

    Is there a way to move saved emails in folder on apple mail to outlook for MAC  Thanks Randall.

    Hi,
    I take it you meant export from apple mail.
    If so there is no export option available... Unless I'm looking in the wrong spot, have a import option for apple mail but no export.
    Cheers

  • Group names and content from Apple Address Book not syncing to iphone

    My contact from Apple Address Book Syncs, but no group names get down loaded. Clicking The "group" icon in the iphone status bar bring up an empty page from which I cannot recover back to all contacts without restarting the device. In Essence the contact app is stuck in a blank group page.

    I also have this issue. My contacts sync fine from the computer to Mobileme, but the groups don't sync to the iphone. This leaves me with an empty "Groups" window as described by eltons. If I sync through itunes, with Mobileme contacts sync off on the iphone, the groups show up.
    Any ideas? Is this consistent with the original post?

  • Moving content from ATV to new iMac

    Hi All,
    Need advice. I bought my dad an ATV for XMAS in 2007. I loaded the ATV from my computer after confiscating his pictures from his PC and adding other family pics. The ATV was never sync to his PC, just connected to his TV. He just now bought a new iMac and I'm wondering if he can reverse sync to get all the music/pictures off his ATV onto his iMac.

    it's not possible without hacking the device.
    as the appletv is already linked to the original pc that added the content to it, it he tried to link it to his new itunes it would simply remove all the content from appletv.
    you will need to take it back to your original pc and sync it, and then manually copy the content to the new imac. once that is done you can then break the link on the appletv and link it to the new imac.

  • Moving contents from old iPod to new iPod

    I would like to shift all the contents on my old 30g iPod over to the new 160g I just bought. I haven't kept everything on my iTunes library, so is there a really simple way to do this without losing things? Any help would be appreciated.

    The songs from the old iPod will have to be moved to iTunes, then transferred from there to the new iPod.
    Check out the instructions/suggestions here.
    Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it is a little more involved than other methods.
    Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
    One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
    Another free program is Pod Player.
    SharePod is also freeware.

  • Retrieving content from Apple TV

    Pretty sure I know the answer as others have posted similar questions but here goes:
    I bought a used Apple TV. The guy I bought it from does not have copies of any of the content (both iTunes purchased and non purchased (ripped etc.)) currently on the Apple TV (it's his, long story). He asked me if I could somehow get the content off the Apple TV and burn it to some DVDs for him. I'm up for trying.
    It appears from what I've read here though that as soon as I pair it with my computer/itunes the content will be erased as Apple TV views that as a new library. Is this correct ?
    What I haven't been able to find out is can I plug the Apple TV in without pairing it and somehow access the content ? Does it show up as a network drive perhaps ?
    I gather that I could remove the drive and mount it but that's a little risky.
    Always willing to help my fellow man if I can.
    Thanks
    Marc

    Thanks. Does anyone know how Apple TV determines if it is a new library ? Assuming he can retrieve his iTunes library file and put in on another (empty) Mac or PC. would Apple TV still think it is a different library ? Or because the library is the same would the files then be synched back to the new computer?

  • Problems With Quicktime content from Apple website

    Hi
    I have problems visualizing various sections of the Apple website that contains quicktime content. (Safari thinks Quicktime is not installed)
    for example can't see shuffle giuded tour
    http://www.apple.com/ipodshuffle/guidedtour/tour/large.html
    or the video for the iphone os 3.0
    http://events.apple.com.edgesuite.net/0903lajkszg/event/index.html
    from the safari error console i can see there are runtime javascript errors on calls to
    'AC.Detector', whose result is non an object, as you can see here
    http://i40.tinypic.com/1jb1qc.jpg
    http://i42.tinypic.com/15ejrb9.jpg
    Any idea?
    Thanks
    PS: i have no problems with quicktime from other websites, or from other parts of
    Apple.

    i don't know
    it could be an issue with something else, maybe iTunes
    look here
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8689671&#8689671
    same issue with 'AC.Detector' (I don't know what that is)
    i have not had problems with Apple quicktime content in the recent past (same Safari 4 Beta)
    i installed iTunes 8.1 recently

  • Deleting Selected Content from Apple TV

    I synced a lot of music onto Apple TV and now I've decided I no longer wnat song of the songs on it.
    In order to snyc the music I created a new playlist in Itunes and checked the box on ATV to sync all the files over.
    If I delete the files from the play list on Itunes all that will do is edit the play list as it appears in Itunes, not on ATV, correct?

    No, if you remove the entries from the playlist and sync again, it should remove the files from the tv.

  • Can I moving mailboxes from Apple Mail 4.6 (OS X Lion) to Apple Mail 7.1 (OS X Mavericks)?

    Hi all,
    I've tried to copy my /User/Library/Mail, /User/Library/Mail Downloads and /User/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist on OS X Lion 10.6.8 to the same dirs in OS X Mavericks. But I still can't see my old mailboxes and messages.
    It's possible to migrate from Mail 4.6 to Mail 7.1?
    tks

    Apple doesn't have an email system for support. AppleCare is the only method.
    You might try the Support link on the Mac App Store, but they're not necessarily the people in charge of the up-to-date program, but they may be able to help you. Don't get your hopes up on that, though. When you contact the App Store support, make sure you note all of the things you stated above along with your Claim Reference number.

  • Moving contents from one folder to another... what am I doing wrong?

    I'm trying to move files and folders between folders. Can someone tell me where I'm going wrong?
    The sourceFolder is hard coded using full path because the script is built on the fly and the path can be one of several folders that are constructed within a master application. The destination is user chosen. If I make the souce user chosen this script works so it must be something in the source path that is not right.
    set sourceFolder to "Mac HD/Users/devbox/Desktop/Projects/"
    set targetFolder to (choose folder)
    tell application "Finder"
    move entire contents of sourceFolder to targetFolder with replacing
    end tell

    Finder uses a different mac colon file path system than the unix slash delim.
    set sourceFolder to "Macintosh HD:Users:devbox:Desktop:Projects:"
    You can also use POSIX path to coerce them from one to the other.
    set sourceFolder to POSIX file "/Users/devbox/Desktop/Projects/"
    edit: I reviewed the script and added the word "folder" to help the finder tell statement as well. Also could set the initial sourceFolder variable to an alias if you weren't ever going to use it as text.
    set sourceFolder to POSIX file "/Users/devbox/Desktop/Projects/"
    set targetFolder to (choose folder)
    tell application "Finder"
    move entire contents of folder sourceFolder to targetFolder with replacing
    end tell
