Moving countries

I recently moved from country a to b. I can't seem to change the country in my appleID profile? How can I change the country and also not lose all apps purchased earlier. Thanks.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Click on your account name in the top right corner of the iTunes store in the iTunes application on your computer, enter your password and click the "view account" button. Navigate to the Apple ID summary where you have the option to "change country or region".
In order to change your location, you will need a credit card registered to an address in the location you are trying to change to.
You cannot change your location if you have credit on your account, if you are unable to spend your credit and leave a balance of zero, contact Apple, which you can do through iTunes Store Support.

  • I moved countries and my songs are gone from my Purchases. Is there a way to get them back without switching stores?

I recently moved from The United States of America to Germany. I received an iTunes gift card from a friend here so I changed my country to redeem the money on it. After I made a few song purchases, I remembered some albums I've bought songs from before were not complete and when I went to 'Complete My Album',  nothing was there. Usually there would be 'Born to Die' by Lana del Rey listed there or 'Twilight Theater' by Poets of the Fall but nothing was there except for the albums that included the two songs I bought. I was confused and checked my purchases.
Everything was gone except for the two songs I bought.
I have bought a lot from the iTunes store and I really want to find a way to get this music back. Why aren't songs I've purchases connected to the account anyway? This seems like a complete flaw in the system. I should have access to all the songs I have purchased in the past, regardless of which country they were purchased in because I still did spend my money on it. I have only ever used cards I have received as gifts or purchased myself.
So, is there any way to fix this and get all my songs to show up again? I can't switch back to the USA store because I bet I'll be missing the songs I've purchased in the Germany store, and I've got several euros waiting to be spent on this account.
If there is no way to do this, can I just switch back and forth between the country stores after I finish the money? Or are all my purchases literally cleared and gone for good?

They are linked to your account, but they are also tied to the country that they were bought in - you won't be able to potentially redownload them unless you move back to the US and have a US billing address on your account (you have to be in a country to use its store, including redownloading past purchases).
Have you not got a backup copy of all of your downloads/library that you can copy them back from ? Even if you hadn't moved countries any item could be removed from the store at any time by the rights-holders (you are only guaranteed one download of any item), you should be keeping and maintaining a backup copy.

  • I've moved countries and wanting to update in my profile. It won't let me change countries until I cancel my itunes Match Subscription - how do I do that?

You need to reset the password for the "old" account, and then use that to turn off iCloud.  Then you will be able to sign in with your new ID.
You can reset your password at iForgot.apple.com.
If you don't know the answers to the security questions, you will need to start there.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
-If you established a rescue email address, there will be a link on the "Passwords & Security" page of id.apple.com.  Clicking the link will send the reset to your rescue email address (NOTE:  This is not the same address as your Apple ID email)
-If there is no link on the page, then you didn't establish a rescue email address.  Contact AppleCare at 800.694.7466 (If you are in the US), and ask for account security.  You will need to answer some questions to verify your identity, AND you will need access to a computer to generate a temporary support pin.

  • When moving countries, do we then need to create a new apple id?

When moving countries, do we then need to create a new apple id to purchase from our new country?
I have logged into my apple id in a browser (not itunes) to change my country details so that I can register my CC information to purchase from my new country. "Changing countries option" is not provided.
The only solution I can see is creating a new apple id for my new country.  Which means loosing purchased apps on my phone as well as not being able to access music purchased in my previous apple id (unless manually burning to CD and importing again that way).
Can anyone confirm or provide a solution to a common senario of moving to another country to live?

    Hi,
I'm desperately trying to solve my problem to Buy Book, using Aperture 3 and MacBook Pro. I have tried using re-entering my current account and creating another account (created in Apple Store and not Apperture), used the Aperture Library First Aid (repaired permissions and databases), transfered the preferences to the desktop etc., only did not restore the library and reinstalled Aperture (bought it over the Mac App Store).
Please help, I realy wish this book.
    Thanks!

  • Repairs under Warranty whilst moving countries

Hi, I bought my Toshiba Satelite laptop 10 months ago in Germany and i´m moving back to England in one month´s time, my laptop has had really great timing and there´s a problem with the cooling system.
My warranty isn´t worldwide however it does say if I change countries I can simply just notify Toshiba support to change the home country.
Now is a month´s time ok for the repair? The fan still works and everything runs as normal however I don´t want to test it out too much if something else goes wrong...
    Thanks!

    Hi Ishbar,
Can you hook it up to an external monitor and see if it's the same?

  • I moved countries - now Itunes doesn't recognize my prior content/library

I recently moved from Canada to the U.S.  When I changed my account address over, my phone stopped recognizing any of my prior content that used to show.  Things like all the videos I have on iTunes on my computer don't appear as cloud options on my phone anymore.
Also, and I am not sure if this is related, but I cannot sync with the Disney Movies Anywhere App.

Correct.  Each country has its own iTunes Store as material is licensed for use by country.  When you move countries it is critical you ensure you have backup copies of any purchases you have made since you no longer have access to purchases made in Canada.  As long as you have them in-hand you can use them, but you cannot use the iTunes Store in another country E.g., "The iTunes Service is available to you only in the United States, its territories, and possessions. You agree not to use or attempt to use the iTunes Service from outside these locations. Apple may use technologies to verify your compliance." - http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/us/terms.html#SERVICE  (reads the same for pretty much any country)
I have no idea about the Disney Movies App.  They may have similar restrictions about out-of-country use but you will have to check with them.

  • Can't get my iphone 4 to work now I've moved countries.

I've just moved to Germany and have an Iphone that I got from the car phone warehouse, I was on contract with o2, o2 in England told me my phone is not locked to them but when Iput my German sim pre pay sim in it won't work. It tells me to activate the phone through wifi. When I try this it tells me to contact my service provider or put in the sim I got with the phone. What can I do to make it work?

Your phone is in fact locked to O2. Carphone Warehouse DOES NOT sell officially unlocked iPhones. Rather, the phones they sell are called "sim free". What that means is that these iPhones will lock to the first UK carrier's sim inserted in the phone, in your case that would be O2. To use your phone in Germany requires that you get O2 to authorize the phone's official unlocking. However, they will not do so unless you are in the UK, using the phone on their network. Apple can't/won't help you & neither will any carrier in Germany.
Sorry, but you'll have to deal with O2 to get your phone officially unlocked.

  • I moved countries how do i change my iTunes

I have resonly moved back to canada from the uk. I set up my itunes account in the uk but now live  back in canada. how do i change my store back to the canadian store?

You can change the country for itunes store by going to the bottom of the Home page and clicking on the flag.
You can then sign in with your Apple ID and put in your Canadian Bank Account details.
Be aware though this will stop you from buying in the UK store or getting updates for apps you purchased there.

  • Moved countries and now no ability to buy anything

I recently moved from the US to UK.
I updated my profile in iTunes with the new address. When I try to make a purchase a box pops up and asked for verification of address and details but only gives me US options for state and phone? It won't let me put in a UK phone number and obviously a Us state doesn't match my bank records.
On my apple account the info is all correct.
    Tried everything but nothing works

You can continue to use the previously purchased music, and you can authorize computers to play that music up to the limit of 5.

  • Really confused about app updates since I moved countries?

    Hello All,
I have spent the last few days trying to figure out exatly what the impact is with changing country and card details on my Apple ID to a new location.
I changed from Ireland to the UK, and then I realised all my purchases were no longer in the 'apps in the cloud' section meaning I couldn't redownload easily!
I subsequently talked to senior advisors in Apple and they informed me it was not a big deal and I could download the apps i've paid for already in the Irish store for free. (including both the  Mac App store and iTunes store/iOS store)
So all though not great I was happy enough with this solution, while I live in the UK I can redownload what I need for free on demand and when I move back to Ireland I can change it back and all my purchases will be there again, they also confirmed it doesn't affect other Apple ID services like iCloud.
Updates are still confsuing me though, I was told that iOS devices would recognise updates and show new updates in the store (which they do!)
I was also told that iTunes would not allow updates of apps purchased in the old store but I could sync back updates done on my iOS devices... This was the case until I installed iTunes 11.0.4 tonight when for some reason it let me update all my apps in iTunes with no problem?!
So my question, did something change in 11.0.4 and now I can get updates for alll apps (old store and new in iTunes)?
and what about Mac App store - will I get updates for my apps from the old store in that?
    Thanks!

    Hi Dah•veed,
    Thanks for the info -
I have three specific questions though...
    1. Many complaints i've seen online about iTunes not letting you update apps purchased in a different country store to the one you are using --- However with iTunes 11.0.4 I am able to update all apps purchased on different stores with no problem, and I seem to also get updates on my devices, is this correct?
    2. For applications I purchased in the Mac App Store before I changed my country on my Apple ID, Will I still get updates, and update notifications for these applicatons? (I see people online say that I will not get updates for any apps I purchased on the old country store now that I am changed to a new country store?
    3. Will all system updates still occur without issue? (OS X update, Security Update, Firmware?)
    Thanks for your time Sir,
    Regards,
    John

  • I've moved countries and I can't update my new bank details to download d stuff.... Help please....

When I went to the Apple settings, it says to click on 'change country' but nothing comes up when I do.... Extremely frustrating as I can't update any of my apps nor download songs :(

Do a reset ie hold the sleep/wake and home buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears.

  • Why can't I play my music after having moved to a new country?

I moved countries four years ago and thought I had transfered my account to my new home country. I just purchased a new MacBook, authorized it and deauthorized the old one (which worked just fine) and can't play my music. iTunes tells me to authorize the account in my old country which I thought was transfered to my new country.

Well, finally it didn't: I only have access to part of my library! I have an appointment with the Genius Bar next week to get this fixed...
