Moving country with Zen Mi

I am moving from the UK to Australia in a few months, and wish to buy a Zen Micro. However, many people have known to have problems where the player has had to be replaced. Just in case this happens to me when I arri've in Australia, is the warranty still valid and can I go direct to Australian support?

Check the warranty small print- It says it is only valid in the territory or country it was purchased in, although that seems a bit mean, as most companies would give you a worldwide warranty.
Also The warranty for the Micro for the UK & Australia are identical, so i cannot see what the issue is!!
Maybe one of the Mods can answer this- seems crazy- Micro is sold in almost every electrical shop over here in Australia, so it's not like they aren't common, and the warranty is idenitcial (not like in the US wehre it is different regarding lengths of service etc.

ZISD sector a moving target with ZEN 7?

I participated in a thread on ENGL's forums concernign their ActiveX
control for reading the ZISD data from within Windows using VBScript. I
asked them if it was OK to use the v1.0 of their ActiveX control with
ZEN 6.5 and ZEN 7.0 (it only listed ZEN 3.x-4.0).
Heath said they plan on releasing a ZEN 6.5/7.0 compatible version in
January 2006, which is good.
I asked him why they needed to release a new version, and he said
something along the lines of with ZEN 7, the ZISD isn't always located
at Sector 6 like it was in older versions of ZEN Imaging. Here is what
he said:
"The current release of ZisdCtrl supports ZISD @ sector 6, with ZENworks
7 ZISD may not necessarily be written at sector 6."
Does anyone have any info on this kind of thing? I am interested in
knowin gwhat some of these changes are and why they were made.
I cannot find anything on Novell's site.

The info from Heath is correct, it ZISD isn't alway's at sector 6
The reason why is because als GRUB likes to use the first few sectors on the
disk, and as such imaging had some problems with Linux Machines using GRUB.

Moving country with ITunes Music Store

I'm about to move from the UK to the US and I was wondering how to change my music store account i.e. create a US account whilst still having the ability to recover music (but not buy) from my UK account.

you just create a new account when you are in the US and have a US address with either a credit card or a itunes card.
You UK account will remain as is.
Puzzled by the recover music from your UK account comment. You only get one download so what is there to recover?

Problem with Zen Xt

I purchased a refurbished Zen Xtra back in May and had the player lock up on several occasions. It would eventually resolve if I let the batteries drain and then recharge. The last time it happened I came to these forums and learned how to enter recovery mode. I tried to do a firmware update which failed and now the player will only boot into recovery mode. When I attempt to do the firmware update I get the message player not connected. I can see the player connected in windows and can actuall browse the HD which is obviously now empty. How can this be resolved?

I have a family that is international. We have two accounts, one each in a different country! wife and I. Both accounts have many books, music apps and lots of iTunes credit still on account. . While trying to set up the new family plan, I keep getting error messages. When I click on the invite email, I get this message: Cannot Join This Family. Which is crazy. Then, thinking it must be because I was still on the same device, I just set up OS8 on another device, and tried it again, with another error now coming up that says I have to Change the Country with this account. The iTunes stores in different countries are entirely separate. You can only use an iTunes store credit in the country in with it was created and purchased content cannot be shared across countries. Family sharing groups must be country-specific, using iTunes store credits for purchases only within that country, and sharing purchases that were made in that country. Random Problems with Zen Micro? Try a diff. USB cable

I know people have mentioned this in other posts, but I thought I would reiterate it here. Many people seem to be complaining that their player is not recognized, or only sometimes recognized, or recognized by Windows (as a USB device) but not by their Creative software, or songs won't transfer, etc. Well, I had some similar problems which ALL went away when I started using a different USB cable - the one that shipped with the Micro just doesn't seem to work consistently.
So, if you are having problems with your player that you can't seem to solve any other way, you may want to try a different USB cable. It worked for me.

I tried a different USB cable also, I thought that it would help, but I still got the same problems. I can almost guarantee that although you think you may have solved your issues, they WILL come back.
I've also been experiencing the "Player Not Connected" problem with my Zen Micro.
I've also had the problem where the Zen Micro just freezes in the "Docked" screen even after it has been disconnected from the PC
I've noticed that these are common problems with Zen Micros with the new firmware (.0.03)
My old Zen Micro with the old, original firmware did NOT have this connectivity problem
Creative should investigate these issues associated with this new firmware, or maybe even making the old firmware available for download to see if this really is the source of all these problems.

Trouble with ZEN MX

Trouble with ZEN MXWHi,
I have some issues with my zen mx,? primarily sometimes when I listen to a playlist containing many tracks or "all tracks", my player sometimes shuts of and then have to scan the disk pefore working.
Secondly there are small pauses during playback, maybe every third track or more, I'm only talking about something like a thenth of a second but it's still very annoying. This also occurs when I have many tracks in my playlist.
Thirdly I'm not able to access the recovery mode, I've tried following the instructions from the sticky-thread in the forums (Turn on player and hold in the reset butto). However when I do, the screen goes black and no recovery mode appears ever if I hold down the button for a long time.
Anyone knows how th fix theses issues?

Artifacts when moving object with arrow keys.

Hi all
hope this is the right place to post this question.
I want to to write simple arkanoid game in Flash (AC3). I've managed to write code that moves my paddle with arrow keys. The code looks like this:

It works but the result is ugly. The animation is not fluent, there are times when paddle stops for a moment . Also when speed of translation is high (here it is 10) you can see that paddle is flickering at the ends, it looks like single buffering problem. You can see both of those effects here: http://www.flash-game-design.com/flash-tutorials/movOb.html , hovewer flickering is less visible due to small translation amount.
How to fix this? How can i enable double buffering (or maybe it is enabled by default)? Any help will be appreciated.

Hovewer you are doing everything almost exactly as I'am doing. Tou are using mySymbol.x++ which means your translation speed is 1. Also I'am aware that rising frame rate will result in smoother animations, but this is not the point. So once again, my flash applications suffer from two problems:
1) Animations are not smooth. You can see this crealrly in here: http://www.kirupa.com/developer/actionscript/hittest.htm , go back to the very bottom of the page, there is an animation window, look at the smallest circle. It looks like its blinking.
2) Moving symbols with arrow keys with the method i've presnted in the first post (the same method that infeter uses ). Moved symbol is randomly stopping for the very (very very) short amount of time. You can easily spot this in infeter sample.
Many sample applications i've seen suffer from those issues. and nobody seems to see the problem, so maybe I am delusional? ; p

Problem with ZEN Style M300

When I trying to found bluetooth audio devices with ZEN Style M300,? the player get to freeze after a little bit time that is searching devices, and so I have to push the reset button for using again the player. :mansurprised:Anyone have the same problem?

I have a similar problem. It recognized and paired with a Sony Ericsson MW600 Hi-Fi Bluetooth Stereo Headset once. I lost connection, could no longer connect, and tried to re-pair it. Now it recognizes the the headset's name (MW600), but when you try to pair with it stays on a "Please wait..." message. It will stay that way forever until I press the back (left) arrow. Then the message says "Remote Device not responding" and pairing fails. This MW600 headset pairs with other devices (cell phone, PC) just fine, though, so it's not malfunctioning.
I suspect this might be a Bluetooth version compatibility issue? I say that because when I connect to a Jawbone Era (pretty new device, probably latest Bluetooth spec), everything goes fine.
Also, if I clear all devices, then try to pair to just the Sony Ericsson MW600, I can get the M300 in a state where it hangs and will not respond to anything. I then have to press the reset button using a paperclip to start over.

How do I stop the ruler from moving along with my guide line as I move it?

I am new to muse and may well be missing the obvious here, but I have a little problem, which until it is solved is a big road block to me.
I am trying to move a guide lower on the page and can not do that because the left ruler is moving along with the guide!
How do I lock the ruler itself, so the guide can be moved to a different position on the ruler?
Totally weird. I have tried searching "locking rulers" both in this site and in google, but got no results at all. I don't think the rulers are supposed to move in the first place, so am worried that nobody out there may have an answer to this.
So I am stuck for now & I can't finish my project unless this is solved.

I would need more details for this, as you have mentioned rulers move ? Are you referring to rulers on page in design ?
You can move a guide lower down the page , ruler marks will be displayed on ruler but that will not stop you moving the guides.
What happens if you uncheck rulers from top view options ?
