Have you tried exporting the contacts from address book on your mac to your desktop and importing them into the iCloud contact file using the import command from the menu when you select the gear icon.

  • Can you use a Sony gift card to purchase books for my Ipad2?

I have a Sony ebookstore store gift card ... Am I able to purchase books for my Ipad2 using this gift card?

Only of Sony offers e-books in a format some app on the iPad can read. You'll need to check with Sony, or search the iTunes Store, to see if such an app exists. You cannot use the Sony gift card in the iTunes Store, nor read any Sony e-books in the iBooks app.
    Regards.

What problems? You need to give specifics. Also, now that you've marked the post solved, fewer people will look at it. You may want to a new thread. Explain exactly what you're trying to do, what happens when you try, what error messages your getting and what troubleshooting steps you've already taken.
    Best of luck.

  • Problem purchasing a book on my iPad2

I am unable to buy books on my iPad2.  I get a message saying I can't connect to the store.  My WiFi is working for email, etc.  I have reset everything I can think of, but it isn't working.  I can download a sample, but when I go to purchase it, the book disappears.

I think that audiobooks are currently a one-time only download. Did you originally download it directly on the iPad, and did you you not then copy it to your computer's iTunes ? You can try contacting Apple, but they are under no obligation to let you re-download it : http://www.apple.com/uk/support/itunes/contact/

  • Is there a moving picture book app scam and virus?

I purchased moving picture book app (free) but then they advertised several books and purchased several to download.  I was charged through ITunes as an in app purchase but then the books never downloaded and when a couple of them did, the screen was blank.  I tried to report the problem but cannot select the purchase to report a problem.  I don't know what happened.  I read several reviews and others have experienced this.  I sent an email to ITunes support but have not received any email back.  What can I do?  The books apps were supposed to be for my child who has autism.  We felt we've been cheated.

Thanks MRLoon for your reply. I've read the adverts and saw the preview and that's why I decided to purchase the apps but I was unable to play any of the three apps that I downloaded.  I purchased 16 total thinking they would download immediately.  But after trying to download the first three and got nothing, I stopped.  I've already sent an email to the moving picture books app support team five days ago and have not received any feedback or reply.  If you are truly one of the owners, have your support team reply to my email.  I'll send another one today. And please have your people check to see if the current app is compatible with IOS 5. Is there a better working contact number or email for Moving Picture Books app?  Again, I appreciate your reply and any assistance you may provide.  I hope your nephew is doing well.

  • Is there a way to create photo books on the ipad2?

One of the main reasons I purchased the ipad2 was to edit and organize photos with the touch screen. I love the ability to make photo books and order the books through Apple on iphoto for Mac, but can't seem to find anything comparable on my ipad.

There are a number of 3rd party photo editing apps for the iPad and other iOS devices, and Apple will include some basic editing for photos with iOS5, but there is not a way to create and order photo books and calendars with the iPad as is available with iPhoto on a Mac.

  • Moving downloaded books from my Mac to my reader

    Hello,
I have downloaded previously purchased books from my Soney ebook account onto my Mac. Now I can not seem to get them onto my reader. When I plug my reader into the Mac, it looks like they are being moved over to the reader, but once I unplug the reader the books are not there.
    Please help!
    Michelle

Go through the steps mentioned on the below link if a transferred book does not show up on the Reader.

If you are using Reader Wi-Fi, then you can download the previously purchased ebooks directly to the Reader. Follow the steps mentioned on the below link to re-download eBooks using Reader Wi-Fi.

  • Tried borrowing ebook fr. Public library but cannot download the book 'coz my ipad2 is not wma supported. I downloaded the overdrive media console but still cannot get the ebook.

How to download ebook fr. Public library? Tried downloading but ipad2 is not wma supported.

Note comment about Macs and MP3 in intro below.
Many libraries worldwide now use Overdrive Media Console, which comes in Mac an Windows versions http://www.overdrive.com/Software/omc .  Some find the mobile device transfer process confusing.  To load or delete a WMA or MP3 (Macs can only download MP3 books) audiobook onto an Apple mobile device see the "How to Transfer to a Portable Device" video in the guides at Step 7, then do the following.
    1. For Windows versions, you must first do a security update of Windows Media Player (even though you won't be using it) using Internet Explorer at http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/indivsite .
    2.  Open iTunes, plug the mobile device into the computer USB port and open the Overdrive Media Console.
    3. Highlight the mobile device in the left hand menu of iTunes and insure the "Manually manage music and videos" box is checked in the Summary Tab.
    4. Highlight the book you want to transfer in the Overdrive Media Console and click the Transfer Button.   A window opens permitting you to click the boxes for parts of the book you wish to transfer.
    5. After the book has been transfered, when you click the disclosure triangle (arrow) to the left of the iPod, iPhone, or iPad in the Device section of the left hand menu of iTunes, MP3 books will show up under the Music subsection and WMA books will show up in the Books subsection.  Once the mobile device is disconnected from iTunes, MP3 books will show up in the Songs list of the mobile device and WMA books will show up in the Books list.
    6. To remove a book from a mobile device plug the device into the USB port and open iTunes. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of your iPod, iPhone, or iPad in the Device section of the left hand menu of iTunes so that you can see the device’s subcontents. For an MP3 book select the Music subsection, right click on the book and choose Delete.  For a WMA book, select the Book subsection, right click on the book and choose Delete.
    7. The Overdrive Media Console Guided Tour (videos) is at http://www.overdrive.com/Solutions/Libraries/tour/MenuWelcome.html .  The "Portable Devices" and "How to Transfer to a Portable Device" videos are there.
    8. To find a nearby library for ebooks search http://search.overdrive.com .  You can download the software, search for books and see tutorials without an account at the website of any library that uses Overdrive, however, you need a library card to download books.  At this library site, for example, the software and guided tour are at the bottom of the left hand menu.

  • Moving Address Book to encrypted disk image

How can I protect the privacy of the content within Address Book and iCal? Would moving those applications to an encrypted disk image be sufficient or are there other related files located elsewhere that I need to be concerned with? Also, what would be the ramifications of not having those applications located within the Applications folder?

If you put the files on an encrypted disc image, then you will need to decrypt them in order to make changes. Using an encrypted disc image is mostly a method for archival storage.
You could enable File Vault which will create an encrypted version of your Home folder. This method allows you to access your data on the File Vault protected Home folder.
If you are the only user it may be sufficient that you simply not allow anyone to know your admin password, and that you log out or shut down when the computer will be unattended. You can also create a new standard account, then log in only to the standard account. The admin account would then only be used to install software and perform other chores requiring admin access.

  • Moving Address Book contacts from laptop to desktop

I was doing some updating of my Address Book contacts this afternoon when the program majorly crashed, and then lost every single contact that was in there....
Luckily, I have another copy on my laptop. I'm just not sure now how to get the data from my laptop back to my desktop. I have done the following:
    - attached the two computers with Firewire
    - moved the folder myusername/library/applicationsupport/addressbook from the laptop to the same place on the desktop.
This seemed to be recommended in another thread, but it's not working for me - when I open Address Book in my desktop again, it's still empty. Can anyone tell me what I should do next (short of typing all the addresses back in again by hand)?

Did you check the Permissions on that folder & contents after you moved it?
Did you Verify & Repair if needed the HD on the Desktop first?

  • I didn't mean to delete part one of a book on my ipad2, is there any way I can find it some where?

  • Cannot open books in iBooks ipad2 new purchases and ones I am reading

Cannot open downloaded books in iBook library  I could before

If you haven't already done so then try closing the iBooks app via the iPad's multitasking bar and then do a soft-reset and see if you can then open the books. To close iBooks : Bouble-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the iBooks app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
Soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If you still can't open them then copy your ibooks over to your computer's iTunes library via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases (that will copy epubs and/or PDFs in the iBooks app, not just actual ibooks ; you might also be able to redownload ibooks via the Purchased tab in the iBookstore in the app), delete the app from your iPad, and then redownload the app and sync your books back - deleting the app will lose any notes/highlights that you have in your books

  • Moving a book between two catalogs?

    Hi all,
I have 2 machines: one is a Mac and one is Windows. Each has a copy of the photos (identical directory structure) and its own lightroom catalog.
All the individual photos/xmp are perfectly syncronized.
If I create a book on machine A, can I copy it to machine B?
How? Export as catalog without the originals/Reimport? Does it work for books?
    Thanks,
    MH

I have done it about a hundred times in the last few weeks, before finally
finishing and uploading my book last Tuesday.
All in all, book exporting/importing works well. Even if I have manually
edited some layout template resource files on one of the machines.
At some point, a few images were missing from the pages after import. I
couldn't figure out why, and after a few more import/export sessions the
    problem resolved itself.
Also, as in any other collection, Import adds, but not removes from a
collection. So, if you have removed files froma collection on one machine,
delete the book on the other before importing.
