Moving Employee Org Unit to Another Org Unit

Hello,
+What is the best way and steps to properly move an employee from one Org Unit to Another Org Unit without messing up prior configuration. I need to move this employee from Manager (Org Unit A) to another Manager (Org Unit B).  Would editing the Org Unit number or changing the Org Unit number work. I have a exact new validity date as well.+

Thanks for your indepth reply. I guess there is some steps involved based on your ans.
Per your answer: in PA, you create the Action for reassignment and take into consideration the possible changes to Quotas, Benefits, etc... is there anyway to keep prior info/configured data and bypass these steps - copy/paste/dragg feature to the new org structure- so data stays the same and no other possible changes occur.  I understand that position is linked to Org Unit. I can copy the position to the new Org/and then assign the position to the new Org Unit. Does the record automatically get delimited(prior record). Are there any additional steps to verify the data validity and that this employee got reassigned properly.
Also how would I test the change before transf. it to production.

    Hi ganesh,
    Firstly create the new position for the employee if it is not already existing.
    Then goto SPRO : Personnel Man. -> Pers. Adm-> Customizing procedures -> Actions -> Define infogroups -> infogroup.
    Only Copy 0001 is enough.
    Then Setup personnel actions with this infogroup.
    Then go to PA40 and execute this action for that specific employee.
    You will only need to change the position assignment, org unit, job, vs all come from position info.

  • HT1349 I have just moved from one pc to another.  I had used 5 computers to attach to itunes.  I went in and disabled all 5 of my accounts but cant get the new computer to give me a prompt to authorize this computer.  Any ideas?

    I have just moved from one PC to another.  They are windows pc's not macintosh.  When i installed itunes on the new computer it stated that I already had 5 devices authrorized for this account.  I did a little reading and went in and deathorized all 5 PC from the account as I am sure it was a couple pcs ago and a few iphones.   When I try and go in and authorize an account I cant see anywhere where there is a prompt to authorize the new PC.  I go into store and all it says is that there are no devices associated to this account.  What I would like to do is associate my new PC and my iphone to this account and hopefully restore from the cloud all of my music and programs. 
    Any idea what I am doing wrong here or how I can resolve this. Thanks in advance.

    Hi! I moved all active ports to another VSAN and this caused a server to failure. I know that this can be because of the small time-out values at the operating system or bad multipathing, but how large a time-out can be in a such reconfiguration?.. What if the server can't survive any storage loss and we move server and storage array ports to another VSAN? I wonder if it can be done without any traffic interruption...

    Changing server from VSAN is a disruptive process for each path you're acting on: that means if you're not having dual fabrics and proper multipathing configuration, the server will lose access to its LUN for a certain amount of time. Depending on the operating system you might expect various behaviors (kernel panic, SCSI errors, CPU in I/O wait until timeouts,...). Consider it even more restrictive when booting on SAN or when swap memory is also on a SAN LUN.
    It's always good practice to work one one fabric at a time by disabling the path attached to it from the OS perspective (if multipath software is not set in a failover mode).
    Changing VSAN membership for a FC port on the MDS9000 means that the initiator HBA has to log (FLOGI) into a new VSAN where the DomainID is different from previous VSAN, so its FCID will change also. It is same effect as moving fibers to another physical SAN from the host perspective.

    Sorry, "OS" is the Operating System.
    What you are trying to do needs to be accomplished in two separate operations. First, and most time consuming, is moving 3500 music files to another computer. For this I'm afraid there is no quick way, but the methods available are all fairly easy. From most to least convenient;
    1. If you have an external hard drive (USB), transfer to the music files then "sneaker net" (physically move the hdd to the new computer) them over to your new computer. If you do not have an external hdd, you can pick up a 250G USB external drive for about CDN$100.
    2. If your home network allows both computers to be connected to the same network, ie you have a router or switch, you can use the "File & Setting Transfer" utility in Windows. Instructions available in Windows help.
    2b. Rather than use the wizard, you can just straight copy the files using "drag and drop". Very time consuming.
    3. If your home network does not allow this, you can do the same thing using a "cross over" cable to connect your two computers together via the network connection.
    4. Remove the hard drive from your old computer and install it on the secondary IDE channel. This assumes that both computers use the same ATA type; IDE, EIDE or SATA. From there, you just copy the files over. This solution requires a fair bit of tech knowledge.
    As for moving your playlists, that is really easy. Use the "Export Library" option in iTunes. Complete instructions available in the Help files.
    Of course, there is a REEEEEALLY easy way to do it. Bring both computers to the Apple store (or local tekky shop) or to a tech savvy friend, and let them do it all for you.

    Problem: Focus got lost, while moving from one cell to another cell using tab key.
    Example: In an AdvanceDataGrid, there are three columns having custom ItemRenderer with Spark TextInput control (editable=true & focusEnabled=true).
    When I try to move the focus in with in 2nd, 3rd & 4th column using tab key, focus got lost. Most of the time it’s working, but some time it doesn’t work. There’s no clue as to how may rows/columns the focus has jumped to; or whether the focus has gone out of the data grid altogether.
    Observations: I am not sure whether this problem is because of custom component implementation or it is because of some issue related to Flex Component.
    It only occurs when we perform some actions like some server call, some complex logic execution etc. at the focus out event of itemrenderer.
    There is one property of datagrid i.e. editedItemPosition which contains row & column index of datagrid. On the focus out event, it gets null when focus got lost. We tried to set it, but it didn’t work.
    Steps Performed:-
    1. Currently focus is in 2nd column i.e. Apply to #.
    2. Once I press tab key from 2nd column, it goes to 3rd column which is correct.
    3. Now if I press tab key from 2nd column i.e. Payment #, focus should go to 3rd column, but it goes out of data grid and set the focus of button which is outside data grid.

  • ML Automatically sorts files by name when moving from one folder to another.

    Hello, i usually used to move a bunch of files like images or mp3s from one folder to another and in Lion, when moving like 20+ files to another folder, they was being placed where you clicked.
    Seems that in ML when i move the same amount of same files, rather than placing them at the cursor, it just moves them and sorts by name. How to avoid this?

  • Leaver Employee Org Unit Assignment..

    Dear All,
    In our current system when some employee leaves the company while performing the leaving action we make the postion assigned to the employee as default position while we leave the org unit value the way it was..
    We are not sure what should be the best practice. Should the org unit be also made to contain the default position.. If answer is yes then will there be any impact on retro in case we have to run the payroll of the employee even thought he /she has left the company..

    Upon Termination, the standard SAP functionality is to default Position to 99999999 and Org Unit to the Existing one....
    Has no much impact.
    However, in a Scenario where you want to default the Org Unit to 00000000, you may do the following...
    1. Maintain a dummy org unit in Table T527X with Org Unit ID as '00000000' (Just to ensure that this value is available in the Table and in future, no error should show up)
    2. Create Dynamic Action as follows:
    0000  06   02   *    ***Defaulting Org Unit to 00000000 on Termination**
    0000  06   04   P   T001P-MOLGA='10' ** Enter your Country Grouping here
    0000  06   06   P   SY-TCODE='PA40'
    0000  06   08   P   P0000-MASSN='TERMINATION ACTION'
    0000  06   10   I    COP,0001,,,(P0000-BEGDA),(P0000-ENDDA)
    0000  06   12  W   P0001-ORGEH='00000000'
    3. Edit the Infogroup for TERMINATION and delete the entry for 0001.

  • Mismatch between Employee Org Unit and HRP1001

    Hi,
    I am facing one peculiar issue. The Org Assignment for a person is showing a set of Position, Job and Org Unit. But when I check the HRP1001 table for that position, the OU Relation shown is different.
    On prodding, user told me that, they have deleted the relations table completely and renamed Org units and loaded fresh relations (O-O, O-S).
    My understanding is: PA0001 will pickup the relationship from HRP1001.
    Please correct me if I am wrong and how do I rectify this issue,

  • Moving of Organization unit

    Hi
    I have Active directory  structured with OU Europe, under which country specific OU Created.
    Example : Europe > UK>Groups, Computers, servers, users 
    Since our organization was small they have created the India  and singapore  OU under Europe.
    Now we have instructions to create a Separate Continent called Asiapacific and then move the india and singpore under it.
    Now we have few challenges.
    1) india and Singapore OU can be directly moved?
    2) Do we need create OU's under Asiapacific and then move the objects?
    3) Moving the OU's  does the user mailbox, login authentication gets affected?
    Please suggest me the good way to handle this situation.

    In addition to Pauls answer please also do a group policy check first to see any impact of existing group policies and if they need to be linked to your new OU's.
    Also any other software / scripts that may integrate with /query AD - you need to check if it is looking up users / computers by OU - if so you may need to update this software to point to your new OU. For example you could sync sharepoint
    with just certain OU's.

  • Help! Javascript not working when object moved from one page to another!

    Hello all:
    I am new to Adobe Livecycle Designer (version 8.0). I have created a 3 page interactive pdf form with numerous objects (text fields, radio buttons, drop-down boxes, etc.), that our business wants to begin using soon.
    I am having difficulty with some of my Javascript not working with a few of my objects on page 2 of the form. Specifically, there is a drop-down box for "Country" on page 2 of my form. When the user selects, for example, "United States" from the list, I have Javascript that is supposed to change the "Currency" drop-down box rawValue to "US Dollars" accordingly (upon the change event).
    I think my Javascript syntax is proper, but I am not certain. Here is my simple Javascript associated with the "Country" drop-down box (Note: rawValue 80 = "United States" and rawValue 105 = "US Dollars"):
    form1.Page1.cmbContactInfoCountry::change: - (JavaScript, client) -
    if (this.rawValue == 80) {     
         cmbCurrency.rawValue = 105;
    This seems pretty straight forward and it WORKS when my "Country" drop-down box is moved to page 1 of the form, but it WILL NOT WORK when I move the "Country" drop-down box back to page 2 of the form (which is where it belongs).
    Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions? I have spent probably 6-8 hours racking my brain trying to figure out why it works when on one page, but it does not work when move to a different page. I am guessing that I may have corrupted something OR that I am not fully addressing the proper name of the object?
    Please help!

    Unfortunately, I am still having issues with getting Javasript for the cmbCountry object to work with the cmbCurrency object. I haved pasted my new Javascript below.
    JavaScript for cmbCountry object:

    When I select "Canada" from the cmbCountry drop-down object, the rawValue of the cmbCurrency drop-down object is changed to "US Dollars" (when it is clearly defined as "Canadian Dollars"). When I select "United States" from the cmbCountry drop-down object, the rawValue of the cmbCurrency drop-down object stays blank for uknown reasons. Very strange.

  • Moving from one page to another page - need to flush changed data

    Hello guys,
    I am in this situation:
    -- User opens edit page -A and edits something.....
    -- clicks another page B on menu -- gets unsaved data warning -- clicks OK
    -- Moves to page B (search page).....
    -- Searches for the same record and opens same page A (for the same record)
    -- Now again i see the same edits I made in the first step
    I want to load the data from database here.... i don't want to keep the edits (changes) after i move from that page.....
    because what happens is that after i go to another page and hit the Commit button..... that saves the data which i have modified in previous page but didn't save it.... which is a big problem for me....
    Any suggestion or idea willl be a greatly appreciated .. thank you...

    The refresh operation is part of the row interface. Check the refrech(int mode) and the different modes

    REFRESH_WITH_DB_FORGET_CHANGES forgets edits that the current user made to the row. The row data is refreshed from database. The latest data from database replaces data in the row regardless of whether the row was modified or not.
    If the current user had called Transaction.postChanges() REFRESH_WITH_DB_FORGET_CHANGES will pick up the data that he himself wrote through his call to postChanges().
    If REFRESH_REMOVE_NEW_ROWS is not specified, REFRESH_WITH_DB_FORGET_CHANGES puts a new row back to blank. If REFRESH_REMOVE_NEW_ROWS is specified, the new row is removed.

    You can combine the modes if necessary.
    If you chose to go the rollback way, you should not generally rollback, but think in units of work. If you navigate to a different unit of work you should do a rollback. I'm doing this whenever the user navigates via a menu entry as they are used as boundries for units of work in my apps. This can be done as part of the taskflow, so that it's visible for all developers.
