Moving entire calendar?

I'm a general contractor and I would like to know the easiest way to move an entire calander. Here's the problem. I estimate a start date for a project then have it all scheduled for the duration of the job. However when the job starts early or late I would like to move my schedule with all dates.

I'm in a desperate need of this information as well. Someone PLEASE help.

  • Ical events got pushed back by one day throughout the entire calendar

Well, first of all, I can't find the iCal.plist file in my preferences folder.
Either way, I don't think that will solve my problem: the dates and days on my ical are correct, but the events and to-dos are all moved back by one day. It's as if the layer containing the events got accidentally moved around and misplaced on the layer containing dates. I mean, every single one of them throughout the entire calendar history!! I think I pressed something while I was doing something on ical the other day, but this has never happened in the past 4 years. How can I fix this?

I've had this same issue 2 times now (I'm also on the same setup as you).
What has worked for me is the workaround listed here:
    http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20070313180838582
To simplify, copy the script shown in the last post into a text file called:
correctBirthdays (no file extension such as .txt is necessary)
and save it into your home directory. Once you've done that:
    1. Back up your Address Book with the 'File > Back up Address Book...' menu item
    2. Open the Terminal application
    3. In Terminal, type *chmod 755 correctBirthdays* to make the script executable.
    4. Type *./correctBirthdays -1* and hit enter. If you're coming back from Japan, you'll want to use 1 instead of -1 to move the birthdays forward instead of back a day.
    5. That's it. Terminal will report how many birthdays were corrected.
I'm guessing that this problem has been fixed in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, and that's why musicale can't reproduce the issue.
    Hope this helps!
(and I take no responsibility if you mess something up! It should work though.)

  • I turned off icloud on my calendar and it deleted my entire calendar.  Is there a way of getting that back?

I turned off icloud on my calendar and it deleted my entire calendar. I did this because I wanted to add a sport site to auto add my daughters hockey schedule.  For some reason it was not accepting this URL?   Is there a way of getting my calendar back?

Perfect, that worked.  But I still cannot get this certain URL to work.  It gives me an error message 1.  Any ideas on that?

  • After syncing and updating my iphone my iCalendar on my computer lost most of my information. Including wiping out an entire calendar group.  When trying to readd the calendar group it won't let me add events to my calendar under that category.

After syncing and updating my iphone my iCalendar on my computer lost most of my information. Including wiping out an entire calendar group.  When trying to readd the calendar group it won't let me add events to my calendar under that category. A message pops up that says: "You can't add events or to do items to a calendar group. Select an individual calendar in the calendar list, then create your events or to do items." Any help here would be greatly appreciated! I would like to either retrieve the old information or find a way to add the category back in to start over. Thanks in advance!

hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music'  then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

  • How to delete the entire calendar app

There are recurring events in my calendar that I cannot delete. When I click on the event, edit is not an option, so I never get to a screen that offers a delete option. Instead it offers me to say 'maybe' or 'decline' or 'accept.' I have tried "searching" for the first time the event was entered so I can delete that....to no avail.
So what I'd like to do is just delete the entire calendar and start over. How to do that?

Is this a synced calendar or just on the phone?
For a synced calendar, you will need to go to the Settings App > Mail,Contacts,Calendar and remove it from there.
For a calendar on the device, open the calendar app > Calendars > Seelct the calendar(s) in question (tap on the blue arrow to the right) > scroll down and tap Delete Calendar.

  • I was entering an appointment on ICal this morning and it just wiped my entire calendar. Why did this happen and how do I fix it without a backup?

Hi. Help please. I was entering an appointment on ICal and it just wiped my entire calendar. Why? And how do I fix without a backup? Is it possible I somehow switched calendars or created a new one? If so, how do I get my old one back? This is mission critical. Cheers

You may have to do this a few times http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

  • Why was an entire calendar removed when I upgraded to iOS7?

I was away from home and had some time so I went ahead and updated to iOS7. All my calendar entries disappeared. When I tried to connect to iTunes to see if I could restore them, I was told I have to upgrade to the latest OS and iTunes in order to connect. I'm afraid to do anything more before seeking help in case I might only complicate matters. I don't understand why upgrading the iOS erased an entire calendar (actually several, but I was using only one). Unfortunately, I found the backup strategies confusing and, while I do regular backups of my phone, I don't think my calendar gets backed up. I have doctor appointments, lab appointments, and social engagements that I have no other record of. Any help in recovering my missing calendar would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, I've never set up iCloud for syncing (though I did set up an account) because I didn't have the necessary OS on my computer at the time. When I tried to set up syncing, I got multiple copies of the same entry and so cut way back on my settings so as to end the duplications. My calendar was supposed to sync with my computer via cable, but for some reason it didn't. I made all my entries on my phone. I can't check my settings for my phone on my computer since my computer is on 10.8.4 which won't work with iOS7. I have checked my phone to confirm that my calendar did not sync to iCloud.
All emails seem to be on the phone.
I have enabled iCloud syncing now and it seems to be working, but I have to wonder if the upgrade wiping it out on the phone would have wiped it out on iCloud and my computer, too, since the blank calendar would have been seen as a change.
I've given up and faced the fact that I'll have to rebuild the calendar from scratch because I don't want to risk an erase and restore on the phone once I upgrade to Mavericks. That seems more risky than rebuilding it.
    Thanks for your response.

  • I need to back my entire calendar from icloud. Now I only have montly back ups. what shall I do so i do not erase the icloud calendar?

I need to back my entire calendar from icloud. Now I only have montly back ups. what shall I do so i do not erase the icloud calendar?

    Hey MrZuri,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
The following article provides steps for archiving and backing up various content from iCloud. I have included an excerpt of how to do so for iCloud Calendar:
iCloud: Archiving or making copies of your iCloud data
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4910
    iCloud.com Calendar
This method of backing up starts with publishing a calendar that you can then download to your computer. If your calendar is already on your computer, skip to the OS X or Windows instructions.
    1. Go to iCloud Calendar at icloud.com/calendar and sign in using your iCloud Apple ID and password.
    2. Publicly share a calendar.
    3. Select and copy the URL (web address) from that shared calendar, and paste it to the address field in your browser; do not press Enter or Return yet.
    4. Change "webcal" to "http", and then press Enter.
    5. An ICS file will download to your default downloads location. The calendar can be added to a calendar client like iCal on Mac or Outlook on a Windows PC.
    6. Once the download completes, unpublish the shared calendar.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

    Hi ggaeta!
I have an article here that can address your question of sharing whole calendars. This article will specifically speak for how you do this through iCloud, and can be found here:

  • ICal invite sending entire calendar

I'm running Snow Leopard (10.6.2) with iCal (4.0.1). Recently, when I send an event invitation, the person that receives the invite gets my entire calendar not just the specific event. Does anyone know how to correct this?

mine did the same thing today. It was back up using .mac and when I synced to have it restored nothing showed up except the time. Titles were all erased.
    Need help.

  • HT4901 My entire calendar has vanished!  I have no idea how or how to restore this, I have saved to Icloud in the past.

Please help.  My entire calendar has vanished!  I have no idea how this happened or how to restore it.  I have backed up to Icloud in the past, but it was also gone in my PC.

    Hi,
Which version of Photoshop Elements are you using? I'm going to assume versio 12 for now.
Perhaps, somehow you have been signed out - that would deactivate that copy.
When you load the editor, does it ask you to sign in?
If so, sign in again and then click on the Licence this software button at the bottom. It will then ask you for your serial number. Enter the serial number and hopefully the trial message should stop being displayed.

  • Moving entire catalog to bigger external drive

...or any different drive external or internal...
A friend just had major problems moving his v3 files. He had one top folder for all Lightroom. He keeps his catalog and photos on an external and now needs to increase the capacity of the external. So he copied them over in Windows with the entire Lightroom folder remaining intact, and reassigned the old drive letter to the new external hard drive, so the path to all photos is preserved.
However, everyhting shows up Missing. "Find this folder" doesn't work. You navigate to the new location but it's not clear what exactly you "do" to relink. Clicking the name of the lost folder in the resulting dialog box (new-but-named-the-same-as-old-drive) didn't cange anthong back at the Library display of that folder..
I know I -- myself -- will be moving to a new internal drive from the one currently storing my photos in the near future. So his problem is relavant to the hassle i can expect.
    What step was missing?

A better way would have been:
Move the entire folder (you call it the Lightroom folder) with all sub-folders and all images to the new external drive. Do this move in your OS (Win Explorer / Mac Finder).
Do not change any folder names or the folder structure at this point. Do not assign a different drive letter at this point.
Open Lr, right-click the folder (i.e. the Lightroom folder) and select <Find Missing Folder>. Navigate to the folder on the new drive and select it.
You wrote: "You navigate to the new location but it's not clear what exactly you "do" to re-link. Clicking the name of the lost folder in the resulting dialog box (new-but-named-the-same-as-old-drive) didn't change anything back at the Library display of that folder.."
This should work - normally. I suspect that something went wrong when your friend assigned the old drive letter to the new external hard drive.
Check in Control Panel >System and Security >Administrative Tools >Computer Management >Disk Management what the actual situation regarding the drive letters is.

  • Moving Entire Referenced Library....Questions on reconnecting media.....

I am moving and consolidating my entire library of images which is on about 4 HDs to one (or 2) internal HDs in my Mac Pro. I did my initial copy of my picture data, and now I need to reconnect the projects to the Master images. Do I need to do this one project at a time? I have HUNDREDS of projects. Is there any way I can do this faster?

    Yes,
Go to your all photos view and select all of your photos
    Then
    Go to file->manage referenced files.
If you need to do a smaller subset just select a subset using whatever criteria you wish in the browser view of all photos. Once you are in the manage referenced files window it should be trivial to reconnect as long as your folder structure is the same. Check it out and let me know if you have questions.
