Moving Existing Playlists to Nano

I have an existing Ipod and a new Nano. I want to move playlists from the Ipod to the Nano. I have the Nano and Ipod showing up on iTunes (so I can "see" them both but cannot move my existing playlists from the Ipod to the Nano. There is no copy/paste function as best I can tell. Can anyone help please?

This will not take a playlist off but you can get all of your songs off of your iPod and onto your computer in case you have to switch computers or something like that but it will work in this case also. THIS ONLY WORKS ON PC'S DON’T WRITE BACK AND ASK HOW TO DO IT FOR A MAC BECAUSE I DO NOT KNOW. You also don't have to download anything.
1 Click start and go to control panel.
2 make sure you’re in the Category view.
3 Click appearance and themes.
4. Click Folder options -click the view tab
5.underneath the hidden files and folders category check "Show hidden files and folders".
6. Press apply.
7. Plug in your iPod
8. Find it in windows explorer or by opening my computer and finding the drive.
9. Open the iPod drive and find the folder called ipod_control
10.Open the folder called music then drag and drop any song to a folder on your computer and enjoy!

  • Moving playlists f/Nano to Itunes

This afternoon I tried moving songs from another computer to my main Itunes computer. Somehow in the process (which I botched, of course :(), I moved my playlists from the main Itunes computer to the Ipod only. Now I can't move these playlists back to Itunes. I get a "prohibited" mark (circle with a slash through it).
    Please help!!! Thanks!

In my quest for answers this afternoon (thank you for your help, btabz), I have downloaded an iTunes and iPod update and now I'm able to manuver playlists between the tunes and pod just fine. However, I am still clueless on how I botched moving 3 Itunes files to another computer. I thought I did everything that was in the tutorial.
    God I hate computers sometimes.

  • How do I move a song from my iphone to an existing playlist on the iphone?

I've posted a couple questions about playlist issues that lots of you have read, but no replies, so maybe my issue is just mine.
That being said, I can't get playlists to transfer from my computer to my iphone.  The songs come over, not the playlists.
I can manually create a playlist on my phone, but once I've created it, I can't add songs to it.
Is there a way to add songs to an existing playlist without creating a new playlist on my iphone?  I've given up on figuring out what the issue is with the playlists not moving from my computer to my phone.  Like I said, the songs come over, not the playlists, so I've got the music I want, I just need to make the music I want functional and have the ability to add to the new list if I want to.
I don't always want to suffle all.
Any thoughts or advice?  Seems there ought to be a function / button to add sond to existing playlist in itunes.  Apple, are you listening?  Seems like an easy and useful addition.
If this function is available, can anyone tell me how to do it!
    Many thanks!

You just drag them and drop them where you want them to go.  If you don't want to keep the original on the source drive, you'll want to delete it afterwards.
What do you mean "some pics don't work?"  Don't work how?

  • Files moved location, playlist is confused

    Hi Guys
I'd really appreciate some help here, I may have ruined my friends carefully selected playlist of 1200 songs.
I have MOVED the music files from there original location to an external hard disk. Note: some of the songs were in a long hierarchy of directories, and for simplicity I removed them from the directories and placed them straight into the root of the external HD.
This has now created the problem that the existing playlist has now got a full list of exclamations next to the songs. Following reading threads I saw on various forums, I thought I should re-consolidate the library. Reassigning iTunes music folder to E:\ I then proceeded to consolidate the library again.
Still the exclamation persists, could someone please shed some light on what options I have to reinstate the new file locations of the playlist/library into iTunes.
    Thanks so much in advance.

Open the disk manaagement console (hit Start and type diskmgmt.msc<Enter> into the search box). Change the drive letter of your drive from G: to F: - if something else is already using F: change that first. Open iTunes. Should be good.

  • How do I add multiple songs to an existing playlist from the (no longer called) Library? Highlighting multiple songs and clicking the "Add to" button will only add the with the little arrow, not all the highlighted ones!

How do I add multiple songs to an existing playlist from the (no longer called) Library? Highlighting multiple songs and clicking the "Add to" button will only add the one with the little arrow, not all the highlighted ones! I am using the "new" iTunes.

For the moment there isn't a way for us end-users to control what is "matched" or "uploaded." That is purely a result of Apple's server-side algorithms.
To re-add multiple songs at once simply highlight all the songs you want to re-add, then right-click (or Control+click) the list and choose "add to iCloud."

  • I can't pull music from existing playlists to create a new one with the new update.

I can't find a way to pull music from existing playlists when I create a new one. I make new playlists everyday with my job and this makes it very time consuming for me!

Unfortunately, you can't.  The primary address for your iCloud account must be a non-Apple email account.  The only exception to this is for former MobileMe subscribers who migrated to iCloud when MobileMe closed, which was 18 months ago.

Yes, you can sync podcasts. Except in this case it's KEXP.org's song-a-day podcast that are just songs. I want them to work the same way as any song in my library from any other source. I do not want to manage them as podcasts. And for whatever reason it won't send them to my iphone as songs unless I right click and convert to mp3. And yes, they already are mp3s. Before I convert them, they don't ever show up in iTunes DJ or in Music either. I don't know... ask Apple.

  • Add to existing playlists within iPod Classic

I know that an iPod Touch can add songs to specific playlists.
Is there a way to add songs to specific existing playlists within an iPod Classic (not an On-The-Go playlist) with out having to use iTunes on my computer?
So far I have been adding them to On-The-Go and whenever I eventually get around to syncing is when the songs finally get allocated into specific playslists.
    Gracias

    No.

That sounds like a good idea.

  • New purchased songs can not be sync to an existing playlist...

I purchased 2 songs through iTunes' store after I have updated my iPhone to iOS 4.2.1.
There is an existing playlist and 10 tracks are in it.
I just relized, if I add these 2 new songs into this playlist via iPhone (I can see and play these 12 tracks on the phone), and then connect to Mac use iTune to backup, everything is working fine and purchased items will be transferred successfully *except these 2 songs will be removed out from the playlist* (the playlist is showing back to these 10 old tracks)
Tried it many times and all same, never happened this before...
Looks like the new songs can never be added into an existed playlist.
Is anyone facing the same issue?

    Hi ,
Reconcilation is for linking the account basically not for populating of attributes.
For this you may have to try activeysnc or bulk load.
IN active Sync you can set the active sync form where the attribute can be set.
In bulk load, you can give the command option , give all the users and then the attributes and values you want to populate.

  • Same (global) view settings for all EXISTING playlists (iTunes 10.3)

I guess some folks like to individually configure the columns of each and every of their playlists. But I like uniformity ... How can I apply global settings to all of my MANY existing playlists, like, let's say, Coverflow plus a certain selection of non-default columns.

Maybe I should add that I do know global view settings are NOT a feature of iTunes 10.3. So it's not a matter of "where is the button I have to click".
I also know that Apple Scripts exist as workarounds, but unfortunately I'm using Windows XP.
Therefore, it's a question for the real experts amongst you, as some serious iTunes-tweaking is involved, either in Windows Registry, or in some hidden config-file.
The most important question, though, is: why on earth are global view settings not a natural part of iTunes since Day One.

  • Send a song directly to a existing playlist on my ipad

It seems, on ipad, one can only works from within an existing playlist to add more songs to that playlist. That means, in a playlist, you choose "add song" and then you go looking for the song you want to add.
What I am missing is the possibility to, when I am listening to a song, add it directly to an existing playlist. In other words, something like tapping the song while playing to show you the option "add to playlist xxxx".
    Something to think about?

You can't do it directly, as an iPod can't be connected to an iPad. You can copy the song from the iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases and you can then sync it from your computer to the iPod

  • How to import cd into existing playlist?

In the new (12.0.1) iTunes, how can I import the contents of a CD into an existing playlist? It appears I have to import the contents into my general library, then drag the imported titles into an existing playlist. Two steps, where before there was just one.

In the previous version of iTunes, the CD contents could be dragged directly into an existing playlist folder and imported that way. One step. Of course, it was added to your full library, but you could import it to a target folder. That shortcut has been eliminated, it appears.
