Moving from Classic to de-coupled (require ECS)

Hi,
I had previously posted a problem with regards to getting ECS to work properly when creating a PO in SRM.
http://scn.sap.com/thread/3509187
This got resolved and brings me to a new problem.
When a classic scenario shopping cart gets approved
- the related ECC PO number range gets consumed (marked as external)
- the same number is assigned to the shopping cart (visible under bbp_pd line item level)
- backend PO created with the consumed number range number
When ECS shopping cart is approved
- The related ECPO number range does NOT GET CONSUMED (9 series in our case)
- The shopping cart has no data in bbp_pd with regards to the PO to be created
- The shopping cart is hung with "error in transmission" status.
When a PO is created directly in SRM (ECS case) - a PO gets created in ECC as well (with the exact same number - we have used 9 series number range).
But when a Shopping Cart is created (ECS case) - it gets hung in transfer.
Need help to understand if ECS shopping cart will automatically create a local PO and the back end PO.
If yes - then what is wrong here.

1. Plug the classic in, go to iTunes and click on your iPod. Under the 'Summary' tab it says 'Restore Original Settings' or something. Wait this is the answer to number 4. See number 4 for number 1.
2. Then do it.
3. Authorize the Touch.
4. Delete everything manually.

    Hello All,
We are Upgrading from SRM 5.0 Classic to SRM 7.0 Extended Classic Scenario now. In SRM 5.0 Classic scenario pricing and taxation taken care by R/3 system. Now as part of ECS migration taxation and pricing to be moved from R/3 to SRM as leading PO created in SRM system.
What are the best practises to migrate the Pricing and Taxation into SRM system. Please provide some pointers on this.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Best practice for moving from a G5 to a new Mac with SL

I am receiving my new iMac today (27") and am very excited
However I want to move over using the best practices to assure that I remain excited and not frustrated
My initial thoughts are to boot it up and doe the initial set up - to move my iPhoto library over and to use migration assistance to move the rest of my data files
Then to install all of the extra software that I can find the packages for from the original installation disks
And then finally to use migration assistant again to move over any software that I can not find original disks for (I've moved from Mac to Mac to Mac over and over and some of the software goes back to OS 9 (and won't run anymore I guess)
    Is this a good way
    OR
will I mess up doing it this way
    OR
am I spending far too much time worrying about moving old problems over and would be better off to just turn MA loose and let it do its thing form the beginning?
BTW - mail crashes a lot on my existing system - pretty much everything else seems ok - except iPhoto is slow - hoping that the new Intel dual core will help that

Migration Assistant is not a general file moving tool. MA will migrate your Applications and Home folders transferring only your third-party applications. MA will transfer any application support folders required by your applications, your preferences, and network setup. You do not have a choice of what will be migrated other than the above. MA cannot determine whether anything transferred is compatible with Snow Leopard. I recommend you look at the following:
A Basic Guide for Migrating to Intel-Macs
If you are migrating a PowerPC system (G3, G4, or G5) to an Intel-Mac be careful what you migrate. Keep in mind that some items that may get transferred will not work on Intel machines and may end up causing your computer's operating system to malfunction.
Rosetta supports "software that runs on the PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor that are built for Mac OS X". This excludes the items that are not universal binaries or simply will not work in Rosetta:
Classic Environment, and subsequently any Mac OS 9 or earlier applications
    Screensavers written for the PowerPC
    System Preference add-ons
    All Unsanity Haxies
    Browser and other plug-ins
    Contextual Menu Items
Applications which specifically require the PowerPC G5
    Kernel extensions
Java applications with JNI (PowerPC) libraries
See also What Can Be Translated by Rosetta.
In addition to the above you could also have problems with migrated cache files and/or cache files containing code that is incompatible.
If you migrate a user folder that contains any of these items, you may find that your Intel-Mac is malfunctioning. It would be wise to take care when migrating your systems from a PowerPC platform to an Intel-Mac platform to assure that you do not migrate these incompatible items.
If you have problems with applications not working, then completely uninstall said application and reinstall it from scratch. Take great care with Java applications and Java-based Peer-to-Peer applications. Many Java apps will not work on Intel-Macs as they are currently compiled. As of this time Limewire, Cabos, and Acquisition are available as universal binaries. Do not install browser plug-ins such as Flash or Shockwave from downloaded installers unless they are universal binaries. The version of OS X installed on your Intel-Mac comes with special compatible versions of Flash and Shockwave plug-ins for use with your browser.
The same problem will exist for any hardware drivers such as mouse software unless the drivers have been compiled as universal binaries. For third-party mice the current choices are USB Overdrive or SteerMouse. Contact the developer or manufacturer of your third-party mouse software to find out when a universal binary version will be available.
Also be careful with some backup utilities and third-party disk repair utilities. Disk Warrior 4.1, TechTool Pro 4.6.1, SuperDuper 2.5, and Drive Genius 2.0.2 work properly on Intel-Macs with Leopard. The same caution may apply to the many "maintenance" utilities that have not yet been converted to universal binaries. Leopard Cache Cleaner, Onyx, TinkerTool System, and Cocktail are now compatible with Leopard.
Before migrating or installing software on your Intel-Mac check MacFixit's Rosetta Compatibility Index.

Transferring data with Setup Assistant - Migration Assistant FAQ
Because Migration Assistant isn't the ideal way to migrate from PowerPC to Intel Macs, using Target Disk Mode, copying the critical contents to CD and DVD, an external hard drive, or networking
will work better when moving from PowerPC to Intel Macs. The initial section below discusses Target Disk Mode. It is then followed by a section which discusses networking with Macs that lack Firewire.
If both computers support the use of Firewire then you can use the following instructions:
    1. Repair the hard drive and permissions using Disk Utility.
    2. Backup your data. This is vitally important in case you make a mistake or there's some other problem.
    3. Connect a Firewire cable between your old Mac and your new Intel Mac.
    4. Startup your old Mac in Target Disk Mode.
    5. Startup your new Mac for the first time, go through the setup and registration screens, but do NOT migrate data over. Get to your desktop on the new Mac without migrating any new data over.
If you are not able to use a Firewire connection (for example you have a Late 2008 MacBook that only supports USB:)
    1. Set up a local home network: Creating a small Ethernet Network.
    2. If you have a MacBook Air or Late 2008 MacBook see the following:

In general you are better off reinstalling any third-party software that is PPC-only. Otherwise update your software so it's compatible with Snow Leopard.
Do not transfer any OS 9 software because it's unsupported. You can transfer documents you want to keep.
Buy an external hard drive to use for backup.

  • Moving from 10.4 G4 iMac to 10.6 MacBook

I have a MacBook with a new install of 10.6  and I have an older G4 iMac running 10.4
I want to have the same accounts / files / apps on the MacBook that I have on the iMac.   While in the setup of the MacBook, it instructs to use Migration Assistant on the source mac, which I have available over Ethernet.     The two systems will not connect.    I see that Migration Assistant on the iMac is version 1 while it is version 3 on the MacBook.    I attempted to install the Migration Assistant DVD and CD sharing package on the older iMac, but it does not seem to affect the version of Migration Assistant.
So - Is it that v3 of Migration Assistant simply will not run on a G4 iMac running 10.4?
And - without both versions the same we will never connect up?
Would firewire connection be better in this case?
Or - would it be better to transfer from a cloned hard disk that is attached directly to the MacBook?
    Thanks!

If both computers have Firewire, then connect an appropriate Firewire cable between them.  Boot the iMac into Target Disk Mode.  Boot the MB normally.  After startup you should find a drive icon for the iMac on the MB's Desktop.  Now open Migration Assistant on the MB (not on the iMac.)  You should find an option to migrate from another drive or computer that is connected.  Note that if you have already created a new user account on the MB with the same username on your iMac account, then MA will refuse to transfer the old account unless you rename it.  If you don't want to do that, then you need to create another admin account on the MB that is assigned a different username.  Log into that account and delete the account you originally used.  After migration you can log into your old account and delete the account you had on the MB before migration.  Also, see the following:

The Knowledgebase article Intel-based Mac: Some migrated applications may need to be updated refers to methods of dealing with migrating from PowerPC chips to Intel with the Migration Assistant safely. The authors of this tip have not had a chance to verify this works in all instances, or that it avoids the 10.6.1 and earlier Guest Account bug that caused account information to get deleted upon use of the Migration/Setup Assistant. However, a well backed up source that includes at least two backups of all the data that are not connected to your machine will help you avoid potential issues, should they arise. • Big upgrade - moving from 10.4.11 to 10.6.4 AND fro, iPhone 1 to iPhone 4

I realize I have a unique situation and have been unable to find an answer..
I'm making a big upgrade in my system - my questions:
    1) What is my best bet for moving my Address Book - currently on PowerBook G4 running 10.4.11 and on iPhone 1 - to my new set up - iMac running 10.6.4 and iPhone 4?
I would prefer not to launch Rosetta - I've avoided it thus far and am hoping to NOT launch Power PC apps on this new machine.. and so I'm not sure if I should sync the original iPhone in order to move the info or if I should migrate it from the PowerBook to the iMac..?
Thanks very much guys and gals - hope you all have a nice day.

Your situation is anything but unique. The easiest method is to use Migration Assistant on your new computer to transfer what should be transferred from your old computer. Both computers support Firewire. You will need a 6-pin to 9-pin Firewire cable that you should be able to find at any local store selling computers - Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Apple Store, etc. Read the following:

  • HT1349 I have just moved from one pc to another.  I had used 5 computers to attach to itunes.  I went in and disabled all 5 of my accounts but cant get the new computer to give me a prompt to authorize this computer.  Any ideas?

    Hellow everyone,
I have just moved from one PC to another.  They are windows pc's not macintosh.  When i installed itunes on the new computer it stated that I already had 5 devices authrorized for this account.  I did a little reading and went in and deathorized all 5 PC from the account as I am sure it was a couple pcs ago and a few iphones.   When I try and go in and authorize an account I cant see anywhere where there is a prompt to authorize the new PC.  I go into store and all it says is that there are no devices associated to this account.  What I would like to do is associate my new PC and my iphone to this account and hopefully restore from the cloud all of my music and programs.
Any idea what I am doing wrong here or how I can resolve this. Thanks in advance.
    Respectully.

if it's music then drm is not used there any more and drm can be removed from previously bought drm material without cost

  • Moving from SBS 2003 to Hyper V 2012 R2 VM's

    Hi Folks,
Apologies if I have posted on the wrong Forum
I will keep this brief .
My customer currently has an old SBS 2003 standard physical server. They utilize the integrated Exchange 2003 system. It now needs to be changed/upgraded due to lack of hard disk space and incompatibility between Outlook 2013 and exchange 2003 amonst other
    thing.
SBS is no longer available but as the company has grown substantially in the last few years SBS would have been unsuitable anyway. The company has about 80 user accounts across 60 Computer systems.
I have decided after much research to replace the old SBS2003 system with one new Physical server running Windows 2012R2 Hyper V as the Host O/S.. I have also setup 2 Gen 1 VM's running Server 2012 standard, (NOT 2012 R2). I have then promoted one of the
VM's to be a domain controller simply by adding Active Directory Domain services role. The othe VM will be used as an exchange 2010 server .. I have the Exchange 2010 SP3 installation lying in wait on the second VM but I havent installed yet as it requires
    access to domain accounts.
The new Server has about 1 terabyte of Hard drive space and 32 gig Ram. The DC has been allocated 8 gig of Ram and 500 gig of Hard drive space. The exchange 2010 VM has been allocated 12 gig Ram with 150 gig Hard drive space.
What I need now is a guide on how to get this new server installed on my existing network and removing the existing SBS2003 box.
I know i have to attach the new domain Controller VM to the existing domain and allow active directory account information etc to replicate onto the new DC VM. Apparently this can take a few days. I am unsure however at which point I connect the exchange
server to the old sbs2003 box in order to move the mailboxes.. actually I am not even sure if I ever connect the new exchange VM to the old sbs 2003 box. Would it be better to get the DC replaced first. i.e attach the DC to the existing domain.. let the active
directory info to replicate.. transfer the roles, demote the sbs2003 box?? I am concerned that the old mailboxes on the sbs2003 box will then be irretrievable..
Perhaps someone can clarify the steps in sequence that I need to follow to end up with my DC VM and Exchange 2010 VM with migrated mailboxes installed as replacement for the current sbs 2003 box.
Some other notes:  Although i have used 2012 R2 for the hyper V host I have decided that 2012 made better sense for the VM operating systems due to the better compatibility with exchange 2010 in one VM and simply because of online advice on the DC VM.
    Thanks in advance

This doesn't really have anything to do with Virtual Server 2005 (this forum, or even Hyper-V).
This is migration from SBS to a regular domain.  Look at the SBS forums, or Exchange and AD forums for advice moving from SBS to regular Exchange and 2012 AD.

  • Switch from classic to Extended Classic Scenario- Impact

    Hello,
We are proposing to switch from Classic to Extended Classic Scenario.
We are on SRM_SERVER 550,Sp7 and SAP 4.7 backend.
We want to know if this is technically feasible to switch and have less/no impact on existing transactional data and master data.
Main concerns are: Existing open Shopping carts and PO's.
We are also modifying the WF by including buyer completion WF.
Will the carts created in classic scenario and 'awaiting approval' work similarly in ECS?
Can we copy old carts (created in classic scenario) into new ones in ECS?
Are there any other issues like the ones above which people have come across?
Is there any standard SAP material/Consulting note available
which gives some guidelines for switching scenarios?
    Regards,
    Srivatsan

    Hello,
You can switch from the classic to the extended classic scenario by making the global settings in the IMG.
But it would be better if you can decide if only a particular set of categories need ECS.
If you wish to have both the scenarios, the deciding factor is the product category.
You can also activate a  BADI for the control of ECS despite the above Global settings.
    Reward if answer is helpful,
    Thanks & Regards,

I got some warning messages after I moved from 1.4 to 1.5, can someone show me the right way to avoid them ?

I have tried so many ways but I can't seem to get rid of the warning on this matter. I have no idea how to use the generics on Vector. The other part of Generics I can undertand but just this. In my case I am adding multiple types of datatype and how am I supposed just say if it is supposed to be
    <String> or <Interger>or a
<Double>. I even tried using the Wildcard
<?>. Still no effect on it. Earlier I was trying it out with a Cosole program so I just revised the Version back to 1.4 SDK but now I am implementing a GUI to the program and I am in a real need to know how to solve it since I have to use the 1.5 JDK. Please Help me. I can't even find an example out there which uses Generic type methods to add to the Vector using the getter and setter method. Could there be a problem with the getter or setter of the program?

  • Switching from Classic to Extended Classic

    Hello,
We are thinking of switching from classic scenario to extended classic as part of an upgrade from EBP 3.5 to SRM 5.0. Can anyone confirm whether it is possible, or whether we would have to re-implement SRM?
Any idea of how difficult it would be.
    Thanks
    AR

    Hi,
    Yes you can do it.
First you have to do the upgrade from 3.5 to 5.0
Then once your upgraded system is correctly working , you can change the configuration and switch from classic to ECS scenario.
    Not a big deal
    Kind regards,
    Yann

  • Migration from Classic to Extended Classic

    Hi all,
I would be grateful if you could let me know what is technically involved in migrating from classic to extended classic.  We are using SRM 4.
I would also like to know how long this would take and any cost information and an impact on any current master data and new data that would need to be set up.
    Many thanks.
    Jeff.

  • Shopping Carts from Classic to Extended Classic

We are contemplating to move from Classic 5.0 to Extended Classic 5.0 scenario,  would like to know on the Shopping Carts created in Classic scenario behave when copied into new carts in ECS?
Will all the previously created shopping carts be available in ECS?
Can user copy/edit/approve the previously created shopping carts which are yet to be approved in Classic scenario?
Will Buyer be able to create PO in ECS for the shopping carts which are in approved status in Classic scenario?
    Thanks
    KB

    Dear Kiran,
as the scenario is determined only in the SC transfer, you won't have problem neiter with the approval of the existing SCs, nor with the copy of the old SCs.
The SCs which were created before the change and have already the status transfered (I1111) will stay the classic scenario, the rest will be (after the change) extended.
    Kind regards,
    Peter

  • Moving from CSS to ACE

I'm trying to find documentation on moving from a CSS to the ACE but have not been able to find much on the ACE in general (no books at all). Does anyone have any info on this? We are currently using the CSS for multiple Web and Server farms, and are looking to add SSL in the mix. Trying to decide if we should just offload the SSL to the ACE for now (eventually migrating completely to the ACE) or if we should convert everything over at the same time.
Any links or book suggestions would be appreciated!

    Hi,
Here is the official link to ACE documentaton (but you probably have already found this...):
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6906/tsd_products_support_model_home.html
I don't believe that there is a book, as this is relatively new product. Also don't hope too much to find migration guide :)
You may use some design guides for CSM module and try to apply a part of it to ACE (Topology will be simmilar for ACE and CSM, but with ACE you additionaly have possibility of virtualization/contexts).
But, pay attention, becouse ACE and CSM have completely different config command syntax and configuration philosophy!
I did not quite understand your dilemma regarding migration?
Personally, I have not yet had a chance to implement SSL offload on ACE, but it sounds logical to move the server farm that will use SSL offload behind ACE, and do SSL termination and load-balancing for that server farm on ACE. Then, gradually you can move other servers behind ACE...
You will have to decide based on conditions and requirements in your network, and after reading thousands of pages of documentation... ;)
    Good luck!
    Best regards,
    Jasmina

  • Moving from Bridge to Lightroom, when adding existing files on hard drive, will metadata transfer? Should I choose embed sidecar in file handling or will it automatically happen if I choose standard?

Moving from Bridge to Lightroom. Will metadata in existing files be recognized by Lightroom, and should I select embed+sidecar when adding files to library for the first time.

    Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback.
CHRIS - you are exactly right about my FUTURE workflow. What I'm trying to figure out now is how to best handle images already processed. My import should be OK based on the way I have duplicates in separate directories, BUT I'm wondering how to avoid seeing all of these duplicates in LR when I search by keyword, etc.? I guess I can somehow flag the RAW files and only get them in my results.
One question though - Stacks, etc. sounds great for the LR processed images. But what about variations based on processing in Photoshop after the LR Develop stage? I guess in this case I will just have to keep duplicate images if I have multiple versions from my PS work?
ISAAC - Thanks for clarifying that LR will recognize my XMP files from Bridge. What about the opposite direction . . . if I edit something in LR and capture this via XMP, it won't prohibit Bridge from recognizing XMP info if I access a file via Bridge, will it?
ALSO - Do you know where I can find info about tracking via XMP vs. the central database? You mentioned a couple of valid points, but I'm not sure I have a full handle on the pros/cons of these options.
    Thanks!
    Mark
