Moving from Outlook 2011 back to Mail. How?

I thought I would like to use Outlook 2011 for the mac. It is great software, but I would prefer to move back to the native OS X Mail app. It just makes syncing so much easier with my devices.
However Outlook only produces OLM files... How do I get messages back over to Mail. I have looked everywhere and cannot find a solution.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have the same problem. Luckily I ran Mail and Outlook in parallel so I don't need to convert my email files, but now I can't get rid of Outlook as my default calendar. Does anyone know how to make iCal the default?

Garbled mails after importing from Outlook 2011 to Apple mail

I want to migrate from Outlook 2011 to Apple mail. I found 2 ways to do this:
Copy mail folder by mail folder to a Finder folder as .mbox files, and then importing them into Apple mail
creating an imap account on Outlook, synchronizing mails with the imap server, and then connecting from Apple mail to the same server, thereby re-importing mails to Apple mail
With both methods I have the same problem: some mails arrive completely garbled, below is an example. It seems that mostly HTML mails and mails with attachments are affected, but there are also some ordinary text mails which look weird. The strange thing is: they all look absolutely perfect in Outlook 2011!
I have migrated my mail file from every computer I had since about 12 years, first some PCs, and about 1.5 years ago to a Mac. My suspicion is that mails dating back to the "pre-Mac era" are affected, because the latest ones are all perfect. Any ideas?

What is the best way to manage tasks. I have moved from a pc with outlook and have lost 'tasks' in that programme. Do I have to rely on ical or can I download an app to manage business tasks?

iCal does have reminders but its implementation of tasks is pretty wimpy. There are a number of programs that are better geared to the job. I was a level 4 procrastinator until I discovered Getting Things Done and for me Things is perfect. It lets me handle projects which are dependent upon multiple tasks in a no-nonsense easy fashion. Much less expensive and really not much more than a list maker is Wunderlist. Thankfully there's a ton of shareware offerings - check out MacUpdate.com and see what works for you.

Moving from outlook on vista to mail on my new mac pro

When I transfered to the Mac, I found the following guide online, and am posting an excerpt of it below.
1) Install Thunderbird on the same Windows PC (or virtual PC) that has Outlook 2003 with all your email.
2) During the install, Thunderbird asks if you want to import your email from Outlook, select yes.
3) After install, please verify the import has been done successfully.
4) Go into My Computer and go to the directory where Thunderbird stores your email in its own format. On my PC (using XP), it was C:\documents and settings\<windows user name>\application data\thunderbird\<some gibberish>\mail
5) You will see many files here. You'll also notice some files which share the name of your default mail sub-folders. (ie. inbox and inbox.mst)
6) You'll want to copy the files with no extenstion on to CD or Memory Key and rename them with a .mbox extension. (ie. inbox becomes inbox.mbox). Any custom sub-folders you've created in Outlook in the past will show up here as folders called <sub-folder name>.msf. Go into those sub-folders and look for any files without any extenstions. Repeat the same renaming to .mbox on them as well.
7) Take your memory key or CD to Mac OS X.
The guide then details importing into Entourage, but since you are using Mobile Me I will assume you want to use Apple Mail. Open Mail, go to Import Mailboxes under the File menu, and select mbox files. Choose the folder containing the renamed files and let Mail do its magic. Good luck, and I hope this is helpful. I know it is a pain!

Revert back to Apple mail from Outlook 2011

I migrated my PST file from Outlook 2010 to the Mac Outlook 2011. In doing so I have discovered that the synching does not work. Is there any way to move my Outlook 2011 back to Apple mail and still retain my folders and emails? I have data that is several years old and need to retain the information. I'm not as concerned about the calendar as I use a 3rd party calendar program. Using Outlook 2011, my contacts and notes do not sync and from what I understand there is no immediate fix. Any thought would be appreciated!

Of course, it's obviously gonna be a pain importing messages individually, but you asked.
BTW, just to make sure you're fully warned, getting your data out of Outlook later is nearly impossible. Try the Export function in Outlook for Mac and you'll see what I mean. (It's like Hotel California. You can check out anytime you like but you can never leave. )

HT1296 How to sync Notes from iPad with Notes from Outlook 2011 using iCloud

Have been using iCloud successfully on my iPad and iPhone for photos, documents. But want to sync the Notes app items from the iPad to my iMac. Am assuming it would go to Outlook 2011 - but not clear how the sync works. Or does there have to be a separate App on the iMac for Notes?

I'm unfamilar with Outlook 365 but you can investigate the iCloud program. See if it'll work over wifi to sync your notes.
You might also be able to save your notes or export them out of outlook, e-mail them to yourself and then import them from there.

How can I migrate from Outlook 2011 to iCal and Apple Address Book in Mavericks now that synching is no longer possible?

Now that I am on Mavericks and no longer able to sync between my iPhone/iPad and Outlook 2011 on my MacBook Pro, I'm finally taking the leap (which I should have done long ago) and abandoning Outlook 2011 all together (doesn't help that Outlook now prompts me to rebuild by Identity multiple times per day). I am hoping to export from Outlook to iCal, Address Book, etc, but I would love it if someone could check my steps.
Delete iCal and Apple Address Book content -- Because I have old data in iCal and Address Book (that was synched before I upgraded to Mavericks), I planned to delete this data as follows:
Manually deleting my multiple calendars in the iCal app
Go to Go>Home>Library>Calendars and drag "Calendar Cache" to trash
Go to Go>Home>Library>Caches and drag "com.apple.iCal" and "com.apple.AddressBook" to the trash
Go to Go>Home>Library>Application Support and drag "Address Book" to the trash

I want to transfer emails from outlook 2011 for mac to outlook 2010 for windows.
Outlook 2011 exports mails only in olm format and there is no option to import olm files in outlook 2010.
I can drag and drop emails from outlook 2011 to a finder folder which saves emails as eml files. How can import eml files into outlook 2010.

Import outlook 2011 contacts into mail

trying to move from Outlooks 2011 for Mac into Mac Mail and really struggling.
Mail doesn't seem to import anything but 'mailboxes' and doesn't seem to read any of the export formats Outlooks offers. (Outlook says tab delimited, Mail claims to want a CSV)
I can't even figure out how to DISPLAY contacts in Mail. If I know the email address it will autocomplete, and it says add sender but doesn't seem to ask for a name.
Any refs or suggestions much appreciated.

You want to export your contacts as a vcard if that is an option, then import them into Contacts, not Mail. Mail use Contacts.
To display Contacts in Mail, click New Message, and then the blue + sign at the far right of the To field.

Unable to sync contacts & appointments through iTunes from Outlook 2011 since IOS 7

Since updating my iPhone and iPad to IOS 7, I have lost all my contacts, appointments and messages from both devices. Prior to IOS 7 I was able to sync my contacts and appointments from Outlook 2011 to my devices through Itunes. How do I restore this functionality? I've tried restoring a previous back-up but that did not work.

I had the same problem with my Nano - it suddenly stopped sync'ing Outlook contacts and appointments with no reason or explanation. I've been waiting a couple months for that solution to appear, but nothing as yet. I've tried all of the various suggestions like uninstalling, reinstalling, re-formatting, etc. to no avail. The ability to sync my Outlook info to the Nano was the main reason I bought it. A friend told me to stop beating my head against the wall because the dirty little secret is Apple's support is virtually non-existant. He pointed me to ipod-sync.com which has a sync utility for Windows that runs perfectly and does a lot more than the iTunes/iPod synch lets you do. Now I use that to sync the Nano - I only use iTunes when I'm changing the music stored on it.
