Moving home movie/video from mac to ipad3

I have created home videos via Wondershare Fantashow.  Supposedly I can save the completed show to Mac HD and then to itunes on my computer and then to itunes on my ipad.  Steps 1 and 2 worked, but I can't get anything on the ipad.  Some step or connection must be missing.  First, when click on itunes on my ipad, I get only the store, not my personal library.  Do I need an additional app?  When I browse around on my computer trying to locate the "key," I sometimes come upon "Beth Benjamin's ipad."  At other times, I get a message that the ipad cannot be found.  Very, very confused.

The info screen on the ipad lists dimensions  as 1024 x 576, size 298 MB and Codecs H.264.
On the computer the same info as above shows with the addition of
Kind: quick time movie
Bit rate 127 kbps
Profile: Low complex
Video Dimensions 1024 x 570
Total Bit Rate 5486 kbps
file located in itunes>home video
extensions   .mov
At the top of the computer itunes screen the playback progress slider has squiggly arrows at each end; should they be black or blue?
In the bar beneath that, I have selected Movies at the far left and Home Videos toward the right.
There does seem to be a reduction in the stuttering at this point.  Would playing it through repeatedly smooth it out?  Is it possible that there is something "loose" in the ipad?  The stutter seems to correspond with small vibrations in the room.

I am trying to move across & view my home movie clips from my old PC to my new Mac but I am unsure what software I need to view them.  They are from a Canon video camera originally.  Please advise how this is done!

Do they have a file extension?
How about anything on the camera which might indicate what it is, like AVCHD?

I have several videos that are too long to send via email, which is how I have been moving pictures and videos. I plugged it in using the USB port. The phone says I'm connected via usb. My mac brought up a box warning that the "cd connected" is not readable.

    Hi ..
You can use the Image Capture app located in your Applications folder to import vidoe content from the phone to your Mac

If you have problems, make sure your Mac's software is up to date.
Open System Preferences > App Store then click:  Check Now

What kind of Mac to you have?  This camera is a tape based DV one that connects best with firewire and I cannot tell if your Mac has firewire.  If your mac *does* have firewire, get a camcorder firewire cable and try again.
ETA:  Oops, I am pretty sure that all the "desktop iMacs" have firewire, so you should be good to go.  You will probably need a cord that goes from FW800 to your camcorder.

  • How do i copy The iMovie video from Mac, to iPad mini?

How do i copy The iMovie video from Mac, to iPad mini?

The easiest way is to firstly export the movie to iTunes (Share > iTunes), then sync the iPad Mini with iTunes. In iTunes, include your movie as an item to be synced. After syncing, on the iPad it will appear in the Videos app. That's how I do it for my wife's Mini.
If you need help with exporting or with syncing to iTunes, please post back.
I'm caught up with something else at the moment, otherwise I'd give you full instructions now (just wanted to get this to you quickly).

  • Import home movie clips from DVD

    Hi all -
I've been trying to wrap my non-computer brain around the process of importing a previously burned home movie clip from DVD back into iMovie so I can add to it. (I messed up the first burn, but because of limited space, I deleted the original clip.)
I'd be happy to get it back to tape on my camcorder if that is the only way to do it, but I fear losing quality.
I've downloaded Mac the Ripper and Streamclip, but I don't want to pay extra money for any software (I'm a poor, starving student mom).
    Can anyone help out?
    Christine.

Your burned DVD uses MPEG-2 file format. You'll need more software:
    MPEG Streamclip (free).
    Apple's MPEG-2 PLayback Component ($20).
Use Streamclip to open the DVD contents and export to DV Stream (huge file). Use the .dv file in iMovie.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
OS X can't write in NTFS disks. If you want to write in NTFS drives, you have to use a third-party app like Paragon for NTFS, being this application the best one to write in those disks.
Another option is to format the external disk in FAT32 or exFAT on a PC, so you will be able to read and write in Macs and PCs without having to use third-party apps. Do it on a PC and copy the files of your external drive to the internal disk first

  • How do I move pictures from Mac to ipad

How do I move photos from Mac to iPad?

Connect the iPad to your Computer and sync with iTunes.
Your iPad will appear in the "Devices" section in the iTunes Library Inspector.
Select it and click the "Photos" tab. Choose which events and albums you want to sync.
    Press "Sync"
If your MacOS X version does support iCloud, you can also add the pictures you want to copy to your iPad to the PhotoStream.

  • How can i access my home shared videos from my iPad2 if I now have iTunes match?

how can i access my home shared videos from my iPad2 if I now have iTunes match?

That's exactly what I meant, but for some reason Home Sharing stopped working on my iPad2 once I activated iTunes Match.
Since then, I waited for iTunes Match to finish setting up and scanning my iTunes library on my MacBook Pro and I restarted my iPad2. Both Home Sharing and iTunes Match are now up and running smoothly!
    Thanks for the reply!

Can anyone help me move video from a Sony HDR-XR550 to ipad 3g via camera connector kit?

You can use iPhoto for the import. iLife apps are integrated. From within iMovie you have direct access to iTunes for adding music, and iPhoto for photos and videos in the iPhoto library.
Or you can use the Image Capture application for the import if you prefer placing such imports into manually created folders and not using iPhoto.

The simplest method would be to drag & drop the files you want to move to the external drive using the Finder. Just open both the source and destination locations in separate Finder windows.

  • Can I share home made videos from iPhone or other devices to the MAC with iCloud. Some places say yes others no.

Is there a way to share videos (home made or from iPhone) with other devices through iCloud or Photostream? I have an iPhone 4 but "movies" made with the phone do not show in Photostream. I have iCloud downloaded to my PC and viseos in the upload folder but don't see where it shows on my iPhone or Mac notebook.

No, you will need to connect the phone to your PC with a USB cable to transfer video to your PC.

  • Moving iphoto videos from mac to pc

i have searched for nearly a week now about this topic. i am trying to move my photos and videos from iphoto to pc via an external hard drive. i can do this, and the pictures show up, but the videos will not play. i've tried opening them with quicktime, itunes, window's media and nothing will play. they show up as a picture with a play button showing 0 seconds of video. is there any way to do this without losing all of my iphone videos from the last 2 years? i am selling my macbook and am afraid there is no way of doing this as i have searched everywhere. any help is greatly appreciated.

Are your videos QuickTime movies or AVI files?
Both formats are wrappers, a mov-file and a referenced media fork. Quite often, when copying, you only copy the wrapper and not the media file it references and the copy will not be able to find the media. Look at your exported movies - are the files relatively small? Then probably the ressource fork is missing.
To make sure that you export the complete movie, select the movie in iPhoto and use the command:
File > Reveal in Finder > Original File.
Open the movie in its place (do not move it) and try to convert it to a different movie format, for example mp4. This can be done in iMovie or QuickTime 7 Pro, if you have it.
    Regards
    Léonie
