Moving in and out of Raw Converter

I am using PSE6 for Windows 64.  Once I move a set of NEF / Raw files out of the Raw Converter into PSE Editor, can I move the file or files back into the Raw Converter from the Editor?  Closing the files and opening them back in the Organizer is my current process but if anyone knows a better way please help.
Thanks,
Tim

No, you can't go from Editor back to Raw Converter easily. My recommendation is to do as much editing in Adobe Camera Raw as possible before switching to the PSE Editor.

I've just installed CS6 creative suite mainly for photoshop CS6. It comes with camera raw 7.0.something, but need something newer to use my canon 6d. When I download camera raw 8.5 and install the raw converter doesnt work anymore, wont even open or isnt available anymore in the plugin list. Tried to reinstall everything for a few times, but nothing helps.

When I search for updates the raw converter doesnt get update automaticly. Frustrating, is costing me the whole morning.

  • Finder and application windows moving in and out rapidly.

I was on hulu last night on my macbook and all of a sudden all the widow started moving in and out of the screen rapidly. There was nothing I could do to make it stop. Nothing was on the keyboard. Nothing I did with the track pad did anything. I shut it down and let it cool off. It gets pretty hot after an evening of running flash on hulu. After a restarted it it was fine for a while then started again. Has anyone else seen this problem?

Do you have the correct version of Flash Player installed for your OS version (if your profile is correct)? Also, it would help to update your profile with the model of your MB (processor, RAM, etc).

    Ah, the sound of Silence!
Control Panel > icon view > Sound > Click the Sounds Tab
Here you can either Select something far less irritating than whatever is bugging you now
    OR
You can scroll down through the list and selct "No Sounds"
    For Windows 7:
Also!  Remember to UNCHECK "Play Windows Startup sound"

  • Moving in and out points of layers into a new comp

I'm in a bind. I'm creating a complex moving split screen scene. First I chose in and out points for all my video clips (about thirty of them) in Premiere Pro, and made a rough plan of what it should look like. Then I Dynamic-Linked it to After Effects.
I left that comp alone and then created a new comp to create moving layer solids for the split screen animation. (Colored rectangles flying around.) So far so good. The plan was then to drag and drop the video clips onto the layer solids (which all have masks) but when I drag it over, it ignores the in and out point.
Is there a way to get it to recognize the in and out point? The in and out points are just fine in the Dynamic Link comp. (Again, that comp is just a very rough cut with no resizing or animation. I just did it to get the timing down.) Thanks.

You have to copy the layers in your original comp to maintain the
in and out points. The other option is to open the footage on the footage
ppannel and see if in and out points show up there. If they do you can copy and paste from that panel.

  • Moving in and outs

I have a 3D render that i want to duplicate 12 times. So I have attached 12 move 2d nodes and rotated them to where i want them.
Now my question is can I change there In and Out Points seperately? Or do I need to make 12 copies of the file? Or did I miss something entirely?
    Thanks Randy

I'm still not good enough to answer questions on Shake without having shake in front of me... but I'll try.
I think you might need a switch node and noodle in 12 times from your move nodes. There you'll be able to set the range of frames for each one.
Also -- for some reason, I always try to avoid actually pulling more than one noodle off a file-in node. Mainly be cause it can be unmanageable if you want to make a global change upstream on the file-in. You can use a switchmatte node or a colorspace node (not the name of it) set one noodle in and then pull your 12 off of that.
    Hope that makes sense.
    Good luck,

  • Will elements 13 raw converter work with Canon 7D MK2 raw files

My friend is about to purchase the new Canon 7D Mk2 DSLR camera. He currently only takes images in jpg format and edits images with the Canon software provided with his current Canon camera. I have encouraged him to purchase Elements 13 and to start taking images in raw and using the raw converter. Will the raw converter in elements 13 be compatible with the raw files of the new Canon 7D MK2, please?
The Canon 7D MK2 is a new model and I realise that Adobe may not yet have prepared a raw converter to work with images from this camera. However it may be that the raw converter for the new camera is the same as that used in  camera it replaces. Does anyone know please?
    Regards Dave S.

The 7d mkii is not yet supported but should be in the next camera raw update. It’s not yet featured on the ACR8.7 list of new cameras, but this is only release candidate software. The 7d mkii could easily feature in the final version. Keep an eye on Adobe Labs for further updates.

  • Cs5 bridge has option..open in raw converter...greyed out

i just purchased and installed cs5, love the updates i have seen yet.....but cs5 bridge has stopped opening raw files, it actually never did open the first one..the option to open in camera raw is greyed out...i can use photoshop to open raws, one at a time...tried updating to raw converter 5.7,. cs5 still works, bridge does not...any thoughts?
    Malcolm

    ACR 5.7 is for CS4.
For CS5 you need Camera Raw 6.1.
You have to have the ACR in the correct folder and only one file there.

Would like to purchase PSE 12 to process Camera Raw files for the following cameras: Nikon D800, Nikon DF, Canon G9 and Pentax K-3 does the Raw Converter that comes with  PSE 12 when purchased recognize  the cameras listed in the question or do I need to download  the camera Raw Version 8.3 ?

While the G9 RAW files can be read by Adobe Camera RAW and Lightroom, these file are unsupported at this time. Here is a link to Adobe's latest list of cameras that are supported and this list came out yesterday http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html
I have not done a comparison between Lightroom and Canon's software but others have and say that Canon's software is clearly better. I am sure when Adobe updates their software again to include the G9 it will be a very good RAW converter as it is will most other cameras.

  • Lightroom 3.4 LR 3.4 and CS3 - Raw Converter 6.4 ?

Just upgraded to LR 3.4 and I use Photoshop CS3 - ( Canon 5D MII )  it appears that I need Raw Converter 6.4 , which I do not believe is available for CS3  -
Can I get this combination of LR 3.4 and CS3 to work ?  Is there a good work around without going to DNG ?
    Thanks,  Dan

Lightroom will have to provide the older Photoshop a TIF or PSD when you use Edit in Photoshop, because, as you say, Photoshop CS3 cannot use Camera RAW 4.x to open the RAW files natively for a camera model released after CS3 became obsolete.
Going DNG won't help because the older ACR 4.x wouldn't be able to read and perform all the newer LR 3.4 adjustments.
What does LR 3.4 do when you choose Edit In Photoshop for one of your images?  Does it complain saying that ACR is too old, or does LR create a TIF or PSD and open it in PS?  If it just complains, then copy the photoshop.exe to photoshopx.exe and define that new photoshopx.exe as a third-party editor and you should be able to get a PDF or TIF out of LR which will be opened in Photoshop.

  • DNG Converter 5.6 and Canon S90 RAW Images

This has been an ongoing query with the Adobe Customer Support Centre since November 12 last year. Refer case no #0181279281. Although the documentation that accompanies DNG 5.6 states that the Canon S90 is a supported camera, the converted images come out far too saturated and are not usable. Has anyone been able to rectify this problem? I use Photoshop CS3.

    Rob_Minter wrote:
…if I upgrade to ACR 5.6, will the image look the same (on my monitor) as when it is opened in ACR 4.6?
    Rob,
Well, for starters, you cannot open the CR2 in ACR 4.6 directly.  You know that, of course, otherwise you wouldn't have to mess with the DNG Converter in the first place.
If you use ACR 5.6 and if you have correctly installed the additional camera profiles that will get added to ACR 5.6 once you correctly install the DNG Converter 5.6, you will have a variety of choices to open your CR2 file or a DNG derived from that file.  Even the "Adobe Standard" profile for your particular will most likely improve the rendition, but you can choose the "Camera Faithful" or any of the other five profiles specifically provided for your camera model.
Note that the screen shot is a medium-resolution JPEG only.
This ACR rendition was generated in ACR 5.6 with the "Adobe Standard" profile
and an Exposure correction of +1.45.
Also note that only the profiles for the specific camera that generated the raw file will show in the profile menu of the Camera Calibration tab at any given time.  Other cameras will cause that profile menu to show different profiles.  In actuality, the installation of the DNG Converter adds a gazillion profiles for all supported cameras, so it's a good thing that only the camera-model-specific ones show.
This ACR rendition was generated in ACR 5.6 with the "Camera Faithful" profile
and an Exposure correction of +1.45.
The rendition of the image will be different with each of the profiles (as you can see above), but even so, I doubt any of those profiles will match the rendition of the totally obsolete ACR 4.6.  The ACR 5.6 rendition is bound to be better.
Each new version of ACR includes improvements, enhancement and bug fixes that are not publicized or even admitted.
If you have mastered the use of ACR, you can match the rendition of just about any raw converter and any other profile, especially if you calibrate your camera, which is extremely easy to do in ACR 5.6.  You can save as many presets as you want.
That's why I strongly recommend Jeff Schewe's book.  As far as I'm concerned, it's required reading.
Finally, there are many other reasons to upgrade to ACR 5.6, like the spot Adjustment Brush and the Targeted Adjustment Tool (TAT).
Don't take my word for it, download the CS4 trial version and update that to ACR 5.6 (it comes with 5.0, also very obsolete).  You can keep different versions of Photoshop on your disk.  On the Mac, you can even run different versions simultaneously by launching the older version(s) first.
Uninstalling CS4, though, may mangle your CS3 install, so keep that in mind.  My feeling is, though, that once you use CS4, you won't ant to look back at CS3.  DISCLAIMER:  I have no connection to Adobe whatsoever.
I cannot speak to Lightroom because I do not use it, for a number of reasons that are not relevant to your issue.
    Respectfully,
    Wo-Tai-Lao Wo-Tai-P'ang.

Have you tried to give your iPad a reset? Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and see if it helps.

  • Raw converter stopped working and is missing -- running CC and Windows Vista SP 2.

I have reinstalled Photoshop twice from the cloud.  RAW converter still missing.  Please help.
If I try to install the 7.1 Converter download, I get a failed message saying this update is not for me.  The 8.3 DNG converter installed, but the problem persists.

ACR 8.3 is what you want, that is the current version for Photoshop CC. You can check the installed ACR version in Help > About Plug-In > Camera Raw (or open the CC desktop app and see if it reports Photoshop as up to date).
You don't have any need for the DNG converter, since you have Photoshop CC and thus the very latest ACR version with all the newest camera support.
(The DNG converter is a standalone application, completely independent from Photoshop. It converts native camera files to the universal DNG format, so that they can be read by older ACR versions that don't have direct native support for that camera).
If ACR 8.3 is indeed installed, but not working as it should, or even missing, that's a different problem.

I used to use the free version of Adobe Reader to convert my publisher files to pdf files. When I was making a booklet for our hockey team, it said I had to buy it. Now I bought it and it won't convert the files. I am ready to throw this computer out the window!! Can you tell me what is the problem? No it does not exceed 100 M. either.

Adobe Reader never converted Publisher files to PDF, for free, never. I suspect you use to have the (paid for) Adobe Acrobat. Sometimes people have Acrobat (more than $300 worth) and install Adobe Reader over the top, losing that valuable software.
That said, if you subscribed to PDF Pack it should do this conversion. What exactly happens now.
