Moving ios6 icons more than 5 screens soft-reboots iPhone 4S

Ok this is a weird one. Just upgraded to IOS6 and didn't want Passbook on my front screen, so I tried to move it to my 'less used apps' page - 6 screens over. Each time I do, it either moves, or zips back to where it was when I drop it, and when I hit the home button, my screen dims, and I get the apple logo for about 10 seconds before the unlock screen comes up. The screen remains dim until I lock the phone and unlock it again, at which point the screen is the correct brightness but the Passbook icons is back where it was.
So I tried it with other icons - same deal - 5 screens or less and it's OK. 6 screens or more and I get this weird 'soft reboot' of the phone. I've tried power-off rebooting but it still does it. ios6 bug on iPhone 4S?

I encounter the same problem.
From my investigations, the reboot only accurs when moving icones from the last screen, whatever the number of screens is. I moved a lots of icons from all screens but the last : no reboot. I move only 1 icon from the last screen, I have a soft reboot. I now wait for bug fix...
This certainly occurs on iPhones prior iPhone 5, and certainly has to do with the number of icons counting...
It's the first time I see iPhone reboot by itself since my first iDevices experience.. Too bad !
By the way : I have to move a lot of icons because I lost all my Icons arrangments and folders during the iOS6 upgrade.
I'm overall very dispointed with Apple's last iOS release, which to me all but a quiet transition.

Have to click on firefox icon more than once to start the programme

Sometimes I have to click on Firefox icon more than once to start the programme. Multi-clicking on the icon does not always start multiple windows ie the programme just isn't starting sometimes on 1st click.
Firefox always opens when using a hyperlink in an email, document etc.
Have tried creating a new quick launch & also re-installing.
Happens on two PCs - 1x Vista & 1x XP
All help is appreciated :)

First let me disclose that I am not an expert nor even much less. However I used to have this slow as a turtle opening of FF until I got rid of my antivirus software which at the time was Avast. I switched to Microsoft Security Essentials and have had no problems since. FF loads in 3 to 4 seconds!

How to increase Lion desktop icons more than 128?

is there a way to increase the size of desktop icons more than 128 px on Lion?
I've found these lines of code on the web to run in the terminal but i think they're for previous version of OSX and they didn't work:
defaults write com.apple.finder DesktopViewOptions -dict IconSize -integer 256
killall Finder
any suggestions?

But on the desktop the slider max size is 128,
I've found that if you modify this file:
/System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/ViewOpt ions.nib
and change these lines (N° 6469):
<key>NSMaxValue</key>
<real>128</real>
to
<key>NSMaxValue</key>
<real>256</real>
you can actually move the slider in the desktop view options until 256 but the icons remain 128, any idea?

Cant download more than one podcast on my iPhone

Hi,
It seems that I cant have more than one podcast on my iPhone: I downloaded one OK (e.g. episode 1), then went to "Get More Episodes...", which took me to the correct page on the iTunes store, tapped on the arrow for a second podcast (e.g. episode 2). The download seems to proceed and complete as normal, but then the arrow reappears and the podcast is nowhere to be found on my iPhone. I tried several times, to no avail. As a test, I deleted episode 1 from my iPhone, and then downloaded episode 2, which worked just fine. If I then try to download episode 1 again (with episode 2 already on the phone), the problem re-occurs. So it seems as if there is a hard limit on only one podcast on my iPhone. I also tried downloading podcasts from other sources and the problem remains. I dont think it is a space issue as I have about 1GB left on my iPhone and each podcast is about 50MB. I have tried a soft reset, but again that didnt help.
Can anybody help?

Hi. First make sure you have the latest phone update (menu-settings-phone-phone mgmt-device updates-options-check for updates).Next, the Nokia c6-00 only has 128mb of RAM. Approx 80mb is needed to run the device. So that does not leave much for running APPs. When you run an APP you need to close it by using the exit command on the left. If you exit via right it leaves the APP open. Not all open APPs are visible when you press and hold the middle button. Download App Stop from Nokia Store.I have it as a homescreen widget. I use it all the time to ensure I have closed an APP after leaving it. Also I switch off then reboot my phone each week. After it has settled down I use App Stop to close all APPs opened on boot up usually contact, clock etc.(Use once then again just to be sure.) Another good APP is Ergo's MemInfo which shows exaclty how much RAM is being used, you will need to Google for this APP. RamInfo is a more basic APP which is free from Nokia Store. I hope this is helpful.

2) is there any way I can open more than one page at a time, as opening one at a time is hopeless?
3) Is there any way you can replicate the right click function on word? As pasting and copying on the iPad is irritating to say the least!
4) why can't my Samsung 11 phone connect to my iPad via Bluetooth? A they can't seem to 'see' each other? I may have turned a setting off when I was recently abroad and didn't want huge roaming charges.
5) Why do the submit buttons on some websites not work and how can I get them to? I never have a problem with windows, but it is often a problem with the iPad.
6) I have several websites which I have built and usually upgrade on the windows desktop, usually through Internet explorer, but I can't access the sites properly on the iPad (I can see them but can't alter them) and when sending emails through the websites they won't show the page and I can't navigate the page (the size of the email page is bigger than the iPad screen, but I can't either shrink the page to size or move the page around as you normally would on the pad, any ideas?
7) finally, when roaming abroad recently, I had no problems using the wifi, but when trying to use the cellular data (using the roaming function) I could not get it to work? The ipad seemed to be connected to the network with no problems, but wouldn't actually update the emails? I tried turning it on and off, but that didn't make a difference. My kindle and mobile phone (both also on 3G ) worked great, it was just (as usual) the ipad playing up.
8) when wanting to alter part of a sentence, I can't always get the cursor in the right place? As after pressing the screen multiple times I just want to throw it out of the window!
IT might just be that I don't have the correct settings (I am a technophobe) but I absolutely hate the iPad and only have it for work emails, it is so annoying that I can get my mobile phone and kindle3g to work fine, but always have problems with the iPad. I am sure it could be good (and for reading emails on the go in the uk it is great, as I like the key board) but it just seems to make everything else difficult.
i Hope you can help and sorry for asking questions others have, but I am just hoping that something new might have been developed!

Try rebooting your iPad, that should fix he issue. I that doesn't work, delete the app and re-download it. The Kindle books should all be in he Kindle cloud services and you can get them again. I have an iPad2 w/ Kindle app and it works just fine - no issues.

Page as in a kindle book way? turn iPad to landscape position from portrait position. If, however, you mean open more than one application at a time, then no. And not hopeless, as it takes a bit of time to get used to, going from a desktop/laptop format to tablet format.

It's actually fairly easy. Press down on the word, then you can expand by drawing your finger to cover word/sentence/paragraph/page, hit select or select all then it gives you the option to cut, copy, paste, define. If you want to use a word processing app on the iPad, Pages is a good application.

It's the connection on your phone. Samsung Galaxy SII? Android software? What you have to do is go to the phone's settings and connect via wireless, not Bluetooth. Go to System Settings (on phone) and under Wireless and Networks click 'more' and go to the Tethering and Portable Hotspot option. Set up your mobile wifi hotspot, name it though it will probably come up with 'AndroidAP', choose a WPA2 security level and put in a password. Go back to previous screen and turn on 'Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot' box. Then on your iPad in the Settings - Wi-Fi section, it should then recognize your phone for tethering. If it's a Windows Phone 7, I don't know the layout of that software, but presumeably similar.

Sometimes the issue is with the website design, not all websites are optimized for mobile devices - not just iPad but also Android devices. It happens. They're getting there, but occasionally the page might need a refresh.

It depends on what you use to build the websites on the computer. Recommend a free program on the computer called CoffeeCup Free HTML Editor. I don't recommend using IE period; Firefox or Chrome are my choices on Windows machines. I have two websites that I manage, both using this program. I'm assuming that when you mean you can't access the sites on the iPad you mean to update them? Ostensible there are apps to let you do this. What format are the sites? Without seeing what exactly you mean and what you want to do, it's hard to explain.
As for seeing full page while emailing within a site, turn iPad to portrait mode, and try to finger-pinch touch the screen to see if that will bring the fuller page into view. Other option is opening a second tab with same website and just go between tabs to reference material.

If you were outside the US or Canada, my guess is the problem lies within the SIM card in your iPad. If you were outside North America, there are different band levels - I'm guessing you have a SIM thats locked to a particular provider. Band level frequencies differ per country/continent, so a SIM card that will work in Canada/US will not likely work in UK/Europe/Asia/Australia, etc. you will be able to get your emails again when back on a wifi network. Mobile phone may have a different type SIM card (GSM/HSPA) from your iPad SIM. Also, check your email settings.

Moving the cursor on a sentence is a matter of putting your finger on the screen where you want it. It's exceptionally easy to do. I'm using the Notes app to write this whole segment and I just need to put my finger where I want to change things and presto it's ready for me to change where I want it.
Here's a solution: sell your iPad (after you wipe your data off it) to someone who will appreciate it, and put your money towards the Windows Surface Tablet out later this year/early next year, where you can (reportedly) connect a mouse to it. It will have some of the Windows 7/8 functionality that you're more familiar with, or get a netbook.

We have some list of materials need to be pasted from Excel to many transactions like MIGO or VA01 - the item overview table.
It appears that the number of rows that can be pasted in these transactions are restricted by the rows shown on the screen.
Can I paste data more than the number of rows appear on the screen ?

Moving Cursor with More Than One Finger?

Hi. I have been considering getting the Magic Trackpad. I went to the Apple store today to try it out. I was a little disappointed. My problem with it is that it requires controlling the cursor with only one finger. With a mouse, you move the cursor with a few fingers, which to me is more natural. With the Magic Trackpad, I kept accidentally resting another finger on the trackpad causing the cursor control to greatly diminish.
I looked in the System Preferences pane for the Magic Trackpad to see if I could change the cursor behavior to move the cursor using more than one finger at a time. I realized later today that I forgot to look at the options for three-finger scrolling. I won't be able to go to the Apple store again for a little while, which is why I'm posting here. I just want to find out whether or not it's possible to control the cursor with three fingers. Can someone who owns the Magic Trackpad look at the Systems Preferences pane to see if three fingers can be used for general cursor control? I'd appreciate it.
I also just did a search online for software that enhances the capabilities of the trackpad. One software enhancement is called BetterTouchTool but I didn't see an option for changing the number of fingers required for moving the cursor.
I haven't read or seen video of anyone with a similar complaint about the trackpad so maybe I'm unique in having the cursor control problem.

There are only two options available with three fingers - Swipe to Navigate (back and forward in Safari) and Dragging. Sorry...

You obviously moved it to another screen. It is a native iOS icon and cannot be deleted. Check the other screens you have, as well as folders. You can also do a search and find it as well. If it is a folder, it will show up like the red circled one on this graphic.
If you cannot locate it, then go to Settings, General, Reset, Reset Home Screen Layout and that will bring it back.

How to search event more than 1 year ago in Iphone calendar?

Everytime I forgot events in the past, let say more than 1 year ago, I always search in calendar outlook. But I cannot find it in Iphone. Anyone know how to solve this?

I just tested mine, and you are right. While I generally only sync and have the restriction in iTunes set for calendar not to sync more than 30 days, I found a recurring birthday event and it would only return the event in search to 2009. Scrolling through more than 2 thousands photos in IPhone

I've got more than 2 thousands photos in Adobe Photoshop Album SE 3.2 and my I-Tunes sync to with the Photoshop Album. Is there any way in IPhone to sort or organise the photos so that it's easier to view my photos on IPhone. So difficult to scroll thru 2 thousands photos.

iTunes does not include an organize function for photos on your computer, and doesn't handle the import process of photos that were captured by your iPhone.
Are you using a photo storage application for storing and managing photos on your computer and if so, which one?
I use iPhoto for photo storage on my Mac. I can create photo albums with iPhoto for placing select photos in the designated album. Any albums I create with iPhoto are available under the Photos tab for my iPhone sync preferences with the name of the iPhoto album and how many photos are available in each album.
I can select from any photo albums available and more than one at a time. I currently have 10 albums transferred to my iPhone totaling 317 photos between all albums. To remove an album from my iPhone, I deselect the album under the Photos tab for your my iPhone sync preferences followed by a sync.
If you manage photos manually on your computer and have photos stored in various folders or albums, create a parent folder that will store just the photo folders or albums that you want transferred to your iPhone. Place the folder/albums that contain photos in this parent folder. Select this parent folder to be transferred to your iPhone under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences and all folder/albums within this parent folder will be transferred to your iPhone. To remove a folder/album from your iPhone, remove the folder/album from the parent folder created for syncing with your iPhone.

What you have is an alias email address to a primary email account.
You cannot create separate email accounts in Mail that share the same user name, password and incoming mail server due to the account and associated mailbox filing structure at the Finder level. When creating an email account in Mail, an account named folder is created at the first level within the Mail folder at Home > Library > Mail named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account which is why you cannot create multiple accounts that share the same user name and incoming mail server.
To add an alias email address to a primary account, go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Account Information tab for the account preferences at the Email Address field, add the alias email addresses to the email address for the primary account separated by a comma - [email protected], [email protected], etc.
All incoming messages for all email addresses will be deposited in the Inbox mailbox for the primary email account. If you want to separate messages by email address to a user created "On My Mac" location mailbox, you must create the mailboxes first and then create a rule to move messages received by email address.
When composing a message, the alias email addresses will be available via the account pop-up selection window just below the message header.
