Moving iPhone to new apple ID.

We have a son going to college, and we want to put his iphone on his own apple ID.  It is currently connected with my apple ID and iCloud account.  How can we transfer it?

  • Trouble moving iPhone to new MacBook Pro

    Hi everyone,
I have recently bought my first Apple computer - a new MacBook Pro. I moved my iPhone from my old PC by copying the 'itunes' folder from it onto the new MacBook Pro (and de-authorising old PC).
But I am having a few problems - most importantly, my iPhone isn't installing updates to apps properly. What happens is I hit 'install' and it begins to install. But then it doesn't complete the install. It says something about not having the app on the phone. So I have turned it off and on again and found that the app will then appear on the screen but not in the folder it used to be in - not sure whether it has updated or not...
Sorry if that's not very clear. Would be very grateful for any help or advice...
    Thanks,
    Nick

You can Download it from- Download CS4 products and than you can install it on your Mac.

  • Moving iphone to new pc

I have an iphone 4 and got a new computer...i did not remember to deauthorize the old PC and wiped the hard drive... when i plug in the iphone to the new machine I get a warning that the phone is sync'd to another PC and everything will be replaced by the itunes library on the PC (I did transfer the old itunes library from old to new pc via an external drive).  But I'm worried that I'll lose contacts, playlists, etc that are on the phone...
and you can't move info from the iphone to the PC, so what's the "best practice" for backing up everything just in case things go wrong?

The warning refers to iTunes content only - music, podcasts, movies, tv shows, iBooks, and 3rd party apps. Playlists will be lost depending on how your iTunes library was transferred from your old PC to your new PC. If your iTunes was transferred per the instructions included with this link and all iTunes content on your iPhone was in your iTunes library on your old PC, then no iTunes content on your iPhone would be removed as the first step when syncing with iTunes on your new PC, and you wouldn't be getting this warning message either.

Contacts are not in your iTunes library - not stored by iTunes. iTunes can serve as the sync conduit between the Contacts app on your iPhone and a supported address book application on your computer. If you aren't syncing contacts with a supported address book application on your computer - selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, then the contacts on your iPhone will not be touched when syncing your iPhone with iTunes.

  • Migrating itunes library/iphone to new apple id

    hi
i have an itunes account which all my purchases are registered to, as well as my iphone.
i also have a mobileme account.
i would like to move all my purchases over to the mobileme based itunes account, as well as move my phone to this
    is this possible?

From the Apple ID FAQ: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE37
Q - I have multiple Apple IDs. Is there a way for me to consolidate them into a single Apple ID?
A - Sorry, but this is not possible at this time via our online tools. You can speak with an AppleCare representative, who can help list your current products under a single Apple ID.

  • I updated my iphone with new apple email address now can't get into apple store to down load

I updated my email address because I no longer have the old email address, since then can't log on to my phone to  download new apps/games.

But what about apps purchased with the previous ID ( the non email address one). When they need to get updated, what do you do?

  • Help moving iTunes to new computer

My old computer died, but I was able to get the hard drive to work as an external. I have the library.itl and library.xml files on this external hard drive.
What I've done so far. Put all the music in the iTunes music folder on the new computer. iTunes does not see these files. Then I replaced the xml file on the new computer with the one from the old computer and did a replace all correcting the location of the music folder. Then I deleted the library.itl file (I found this suggestion somewhere) and restarted iTunes. Nothing happens. Am I missing an important step?
I really don't want to lose my playlist/rating data. I have 48 GB of music that was organized nicely when my old computer bit it.
An anybody help me with this?
    Thanks in advance.

This might not be the right answer but.... If you can see the files on the old hard drive. Have you tried to make a back up disc(s) of the iTunes files? I had a B-Tree error and lost all my iTunes files that I had not backed up in four months. I went to the local Apple Store in Norfolk VA and the bastards there would not even look at my external hard drive. I ended up going to Best Buy and they helped me...... some.
As far as moving to a new Apple Computer, I've always connected the two computers via a firewire cable and started the one in the Terminal mode.Everything moved from the one to the other.
Good Luck! Hope you can get some help soon.

  • Purchased a new Apple TV and the remote double clicks each time I press the button. It worked fine during set up and for the first two days.  I have since moved it and this problem started. Restarted, reset, unplugged, change remotes, no change.Help please.

Purchased a new Apple TV and the remote double clicks each time I press the button. It worked fine during set up and for the first two days.  I have since moved it and this problem started. Restarted, reset, unplugged, changed remotes, no change. Latest software update. This is really annoying.  iPhone remote app works just fine.  Any suggestions?

That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it...

  • I have a music library on an iMac and I got a new iPhone and a new MacBook Pro and I want some of the songs from the iMac library to be on my phone and my MacBook Pro and I have a new Apple ID on my phone and my Mac book pro

I have a music library on an iMac and I got a new iPhone and a new MacBook Pro and I want some of the songs from the iMac library to be on my phone and my MacBook Pro and I have a new Apple ID on my phone and my Mac book pro, is this possible if so how do I do it?

Providing specifics on all the ways to do this will take more time than I am willing to spend here these days.  You can do some of this with Home Sharing.  You can transfer the entire library from one computer to another, If you do that you can delete what you don't want from the transferred library.
Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the option (alt) key (shift on Windows) so you get a prompt to select a library, then guide it to the 'iTunes Library.itl' file in the moved iTunes folder. If you put the copied iTunes folder in the default location of Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Music then you don't even need to start with the option key held down, iTunes will automatically look for it there. (Make sure there isn't anything already in the iTunes folder there that you want to keep since you will be replacing it with the one you are moving.)
You do not want to use a new AppleID.  Change the  AppleID on the new phone to the old ID.  Purchases made with one AppleID cannot be transferred to a different one and it will be a royal pain to manage two Apple IDs.
Change iTunes Store account on an iOS device - Log out of your current account with Settings.app > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) > tap on your AppleID. Log in with a different account. Note, turning on automatic downloads or re-download past purchases may tie the device to that account for 90 days - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627 https://discussions.apple.com/message/18484935 - "In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account") When you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again."

  • How do I create a new Apple ID for wife's new iPhone 6 Plus?

Our family has many Apple Devices (Mac Book Air, iMac, iPhone 6, iPad 3rd Gen. iPod 5th Gen. and as of today a new iPhone 6 Plus.  All of our Devices have always been using one Apple ID.  This has created zero issues until now.  With my wife's new iPhone 6 Plus I downloaded Find Friends and also Find My iPhone.  I can't find any way to set up her iPhone 6 Plus tied only to  her email address and cell phone number.  Whenever I open Find Friends on either device and select the appropriate email address it changes the other device to that email address for Find Friends.  I am beginning to think that now with two iPhones we will need to get my wife her own Apple ID.  When I went to Create an Apple ID using her email address it won't allow it because her email address is associated as an alternate under my Apple ID.  Reading Apple Support documents it shows using a common Apple ID for iTunes and App Store purchases but a separate Apple ID for iCloud if desired.  Bottom Line, I think I have to Delete her email address from My Apple ID Account so that I can use that email for her new Apple ID.  When I delete her email address from My Apple ID Account isn't that going to impact our shared Apps and iTunes Purchases?

No, she can use the existing AppleID for purchasing and use her own new AppleID for content syncing. If you wish to, you can set up Family Sharing and add her to your iCloud family. That will enable you to share certain resources such as calendars.

  • I have an old apple ID that is associated with an email I can no longer access, but over half of my apps are associated with this Apple ID. Any idea on how to reset the apps to go with my newer Apple ID without completely wiping my iPhone?

I have an iPhone 4s. The email I need to use is completely locked because Windows believed someone else was trying to use my account (another reason Windows and I don't seem to get along). Anyway, I think my little sister may have accidentally clicked "Forgot my Password" while trying to download an app on my iPad that was under the same ID. So, an email was sent to my old hotmail account that is lockedried unlocking it, but the alternate email that was listed was an old one of my moms and she can't remember what her username was. I tried answering security questions on my Apple ID to maybe get my password to reset that way, but - since I made this account when I was about 12 or 13 - I can't even begin to remember what the answers to the security questions are. (And before anyone gets on a pedestal about how I was too young to be doing something like this, I did have parent supervision and wanted something like this of my own, so lets stick to the ACTUAL problem). So, main problem here. I now have about 30 app updates that are under an account I basically have no access to. I've deleted the apps from my home screen and tried downloading them with my new Apple ID, but it shows as if it's stored in the cloud and will only let me download it from the old Apple ID. Is there any possible way to dissociate my apps from my old ID and associate them with my newer one WITHOUT completely resetting my phone?

    You can not merge accounts.
Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them.

  • How can I sync my Iphone to a new iTunes account on a new Mac Book as no longer have the old Mac Book and im unable to use the same Apple ID, I want to sync music to my Iphone from my new Mac Book, new Mac Book and iphone in same Apple ID???

Basically, my iphone has been in the same apple ID as my dads iphone and mac book, so my iphone has always been synced to his macbook. I bought myself a mac book the other day and want to sync my iphone to it. However i have obviously put my mac book in a different apple id as i know pay for things i download myself, how can I sync my iphone to my mac book without losing all the music and pictures on it?  ive now put my iphone into my new apple id thinking this might help? ive also tried clicking 'manually manage music and video' but this doesnt seem to work, it basically says you have to erase your iphone to sync to a new itunes!
    HELPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

" how can I sync my iphone to my mac book without losing all the music and pictures on it?"
You cannot.  Copy everything you want form the old computer to the new one, then sync it.
it basically says you have to erase your iphone to sync to a new itunes!
Correct Iphone will sync, or manually manage, with one and only one computer/library at a time. Syncing, or manually managing, to another will indeed erase the current content.

  • HT203433 I downloaded apps with one appleid on my iphone.  When my account was disabled I set up a new appleid & account.  Now I cannot update apps on my iphone that were downloaded with original appleid when I login with my new apple id.  What do I need

I downloaded apps with one appleid on my iphone.  When my account was disabled I set up a new appleid & account.  Now I cannot update apps on my iphone that were downloaded with original appleid when I login with my new apple id.  What do I need to do?

You can write into support and ask for help reenabling the account through this link here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
Since the applications were purchased on the older account, you will need to log into that account to update them. The newer account will not recognize the purchases because they are not a part of the purchase history for the specific account.

Also, make sure that all devices are on the same Wi-Fi network (e.g. not on a "guest" connection), and verify the ATV settings to see that AirPlay (and HomeSharing while you're at it) are turned on.
