How do I move all of my iPod Shuffle contents to my iPod 30gb video?

Aren't all the songs in your iTunes library? If so, just plug in the iPod.

hi i will be doing some running and want to buy a ipod but was wondering if the 30gb ipod video is flash based like the ipod nano. the 30gb video is only $50 more but id like it to be flashed based as i will probably hurt the hard drive buy running with it. im hoping it's flashed base so i don't have to worry. what should i get

No, the 30gb video is not flash base. It uses a hdd. For $50 more, definitely get the video. If it break during the first year, it's cover by the warrenty.

IPod Shuffle with older iPod Mini

Hello,
My oldest daughter has been using an iPod Mini for quite a while and now has the newest version of iTunes on our computer, with basically no problems. I got my middle daughter an iPod Shuffle for Christmas. My oldest is terrified to hook up the Shuffle to our computer because she's afraid iTunes will "recognize" a blank iPod and erase all of her 800 some songs she has on iTunes now. Does anyone know if this is the case or will it just recognize the Shuffle as a new, separate iPod? Pleas, please email me any responses, my middle daughter is dying to try out her Shuffle. IPod Shuffle seen as iPod Nano in iTunes 6 and won't load music

I had iPod shuffle linked to one computer, then changed computers. Tried loading iPod software from installation disc and iTunes 6 then looking at iPod. Initially got message indicating that iPod was linked to another computer - did I want to change link to this computer? I clicked 'YES' and all was well...until I tried the iPod updater. Following that my iPod Shuffle was recognized as an iPod Nano and would not accept any music through iTunes. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling software multiple times with no success. I am still able to use iPod with old computer, but those days are numbered... Need some suggestions to remedy this. Thank you.

those symptoms can sometimes be caused by a Windows drive letter confusion. are the techniques from this document of any help with that?

Converting from IPOD Shuffle to New Ipod

I previously had an IPOD Shuffle and received a new Ipod for Xmas. I have 42 songs on my shuffle and would like to convert them to my new Ipod. I have a Gateway Computer with Windows. I would like to give my son my Shuffle as it is not even a year old. We do not have the same taste in music so he wants his old songs.
1. How do I transfer the songs over
2. Can two Ipods use the same computer.
How do i do all this without losing my music and getting it on to the new IPOd. How do I accomplish all this?

Any ideas of what might have changed since the last time it was able to successfully connect? Did you recently install any new software or USB peripherals/drivers that could be causing some sort of conflict?
What have you tried so far in terms of troubleshooting?
Does the Shuffle still charge while you have it plugged in?

Actually, I never heard of MP3 players until I expressed a desire to get an Ipod; I thought the two were completely separate and different. However, someone explained to me that an Ipod was just one brand of an MP3 player (just as a Walkman is one brand of personal stereo player), and from there I looked for the machine I liked best, regardless of brand.
So, I'm sure there are some people out there who are reasonable enough that, once they find out that the only thing unique about an Ipod is the brand name, they'll search for the brand they feel is the best, regardless of "hip" status.

You can sync songs from the iTunes library to your shuffle but NOT directly from the nano.

I suppose if you enabled disk use, stored it on in the iPod, then copied the file to the computer you're wanting to play it on. If you mean directly from the iPod to a TV... no.

Hi, I'm trying to sync my new Ipod to get the new album I got but when I connected it the meesage: The Ipod SYS cannot be used with itunes because it is not formatted properly. appears in itunes. The last Restore completed without any error message, or do you get the "ipod SYS" error message?

So, iTunes/Windows thinks another drive is the iPod, and errors out because that drive is not formatted as expected (for an iPod). The solution, in the document linked above, is to change the iPod's assigned drive letter.

Hi..I went ahead and ran the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. I used it to remove "Adobe Reader 7.0.8." After doing this, I checked in "Add/Remove Programs" in the Control Panel to make sure that AR 7.0.8 was gone, and it thankfully was. Then I deleted the WICU, ran CCleaner's registry cleaner, rebooted, and tried to install Adobe Reader 9.0. When I tried this, I got the following error message (this occurred during the time when the installer was "writing system registry values"):

Listening to Ipod Shuffle with Windows or other media player

Is there any way to listen to an Ipod Shuffle through any computer without the use of the Itunes software, like through Windows Media Player, Real player or Quicktime, simply by attaching the shuffle to the dock and usb port as a "removable hardware device?" I would also like to know why some downloaded songs stop in the middle of them and it quickly skips onto the next track/song? What is up with that? It's quite annoying.

Not with the iPod Shuffle dock, no.
iPods were designed to work w/ iTunes as an integrated hardware/software system. Maybe other, bigger, pods will do what you want, but the shuffle dock can only sync w/ the comp (exchange data) and charge the pod, it does not provide an audio connection to the comp via USB.
That said, if you use the appropriate cable w/ a 1/8" plug to connect a Shuffle to a comp, powered speakers, or stereo system, the pod will function as a music player just fine, but it will not charge while connected in that way.
When a Shuffle is in its dock and connected to a comp, if you 'play' its displayed contents in iTunes, the comp is actually playing the music files that reside on its hard drive, not the music files on the pod.
Regarding your 'skipping' song downloads, I suspect that the files were not fully downloaded. Is it always the same songs that don't finish and skip to the next song? Where were they downloaded from?
