Moving itune to the new laptop !! but where is all my apps
Hi, we got new laptop (windows 7), so my husband did manage to sort out how to transfer our music from our old laptop itune to the new one but i'm sure how to transfer all the apps as yet. We got ipad and 2 iphones.. so there are lots of apps there to transfer. We're on minimum usage internet plan.. so what is the best way to transfer our apps to our new laptop without wasteing our internet usage. Thanks
Does anybody know if there is a way to sync the apps that retains the folder structure? I have a new computer (the old one is totally dead)and want to sync it with my iPhone. I've used the "transfer purchases from iPhone" command but as far as I can see, that has just transferred the apps. If I want the folders back I'm going to have to do that manually, which would be a pain since I have about 150 apps to shift about.

If it is too late for that before you do anything set up a backup process for the new one so when it crashes (note I said "when", not "if") you won't be faced with this problem again.
In lieu of that the apps already mentioned will help you get content off the phone if it was not purchased from iTunes. But it it WAS purchased from iTunes just connect the phone to your new computer, Authorize iTunes on the new computer and choose "Transfer Purchases" from the iTunes file menu. -

Thanks/There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them: -
HELP!! Moved iTunes music to new comp, but playlists are GONE!!!
Ok, I've posted a couple times now, gotten no helpful responses as of yet, so here goes another attempt:
I just got a new computer. My iTunes music was stored on an external harddrive. I was able to get the music to show up in the iTunes library on the new computer, but
1.) All the songs are checked. I had a specific 900(or so) out of my 10,000 songs selected, for ease of syncing my 4GB iPod Nano. I don't want to have to go through every single song to uncheck the ones that were unchecked before. What can I do?
2.) I have dozens of playlists, some hundreds of songs long. Now, in the new iTunes on the new comp, the playlists are GONE. How can I restore them(other than putting them together one song at a time)?
3.) Some of the album artwork is gone. Some isn't. What gives? How can I restore the missing artwork?
4.) How can I make sure that new iTunes purchases are stored on the external harddrive, not the new comp's harddrive?
That's it for now. Someone PLEASE help, this is a major pain....Chris CA answered most of your questions in your other posts.
You need that iTunesLibrary.itl file from your old PC.
That's the way iTunes was designed, the way it works, and if you want your play lists and checkmarks back, you need to get it back.

I was trying to put all my songs from my Ipod onto my New laptop, but they were all erased. Is there anyway I can restore my 200 songs quickly?

The i pod will synch purchased songs to the new library but that would mean losing most of my songs. I tried home share but that only showed the purchased songs too.
I would lie to un-synch the old laptop, de-authorise it and remove i tunes altogether as i want to give it away.
How do i un-synch a library to a particular pc and re synch it to the new one?That's not how it works. Authorising is for music purchased from iTunes, not for music you've imported from CDsor elsewhere. Music purchased form other suppliers would also not be subject to this authorising procedure.
Do you still have the old computer? If so, you need to copy the iTunes Library from that to the new computer. For example, in Windows XP, I would copy the My Music folder (which contains the iTunes Library, my Amazon MP3 purchases and album artwork) and put that onto an external drive. Then move the drive to the new computer and copy the copied folder onto the new machine thereby replacing the new machine's My Music folder. Then tell iTunes to look at the imported Library.
Obviously, you need to take into account that you have Windows 7 (where I assume the folder names may be different), any other places on you old machine where songs are located and so on. -
I bought a new laptop, but my iphone is synced with the old laptop's itunes. So, I'm wondering how can i "transfer" my iphone onto new laptop's itunes without losing any apps,... because if I sync my iphone 4 with the new itunes I will lose everything.
Please help. Thank yougo to your music folder on the old. copy your music folder. on the new computer. move that folder and replace the music folder thats on the new computer. you have not added anything to the new comp right ? then open itunes. it will update your library to all those files and then run a backup.. hope that helps

Recently i had to get a new computer. I was able to get itunes on the new computer and itunes did reconize my phone. BUT, it doesnt want to transfer the music from my phone to the computer? Can someone help, Please??

If you have items from other sources (ripped CD's, etc.) on the phone, you can't transfer those without purchasing 3rd party software.
Restore the backup of your old computer or just copy the data from the old computer to the new one.
