Moving materials to new Storage Locations

We have just re-organised our site and for more detailed control, have created more Storage locations in one particular plant. Consequently, we need to move approx 1000 existing materials from the one location previously in place to the new ones. Is there a quick way of doing this as opposed to the individual GIs and GRs?

Many thanks, folks for the speedy replies - very much appreciated.
My users are very happy now using MB1B for the initial immediate mass changes required with an option to use the MIGO option if single transfers are needed in the future. As they are all within the same plant some potential difficulties have been removed.
It's now to see these forums actually work brilliantly in discovering transactions etc. you'd never find otherwise.

New Storage location - Old Sales orders

Hi experts
We have created 2 new storage locations and moved materials into them. This has given us a problem regarding our sales orders where the item lines point to the old storage locating and not the new. Is there a smart way to change open sales orders so they point to the new location or do we only have the hard way, and do this manually for each open item line ?

New storage location created in R3- How to push to BW?

Our R3 consultants created new storage location and how should i push it BW? I checked infoobject: 0Stor_loc. But this is not in 0plant as attribute . How to load the new storage location?

Hi,
Storage location infoobject (0STOR_LOC) has to bring as attribute of 0PLANT. Move this from right panel to left so hat storage location will be visible in attributes of Plant.
Sometimes you can maintain as compounding attribute also. Adjust as per your requirement.
Check this once and then load data accordingly.
Also, check the relevant data in ECC before loading to BI.

HI,
New Storage Location can be created by using the T.Code:OX09.
After Executing the T.Code OX09,
Give the Plant Name for which you need to create storage location.
Click on Go to New Entries, Enter S.Loc Code and Description and then save.
Number of Storage Locations created for a Plant can be seen at Table T001L.

New storage locations for sites

Hi
I have a system landscape of dev, qas and Production systems.
I have a requirement of creating new storage locations for all the existing sites.
But in IS-retail all the store sites are created in WB02.
Many of the sites are not there in dev and qas systems.
Now storage locations being a configurable value i am not able to create new locations in dev system.
Kindly advise how to go ahead

You can check in any MM transaction code like in MMBE or in MB52 or in MB51 or in MM03....etc.
In the selection screen of MMBE please go to storage location field and press F4.
Now system will display all storage location with plant and if you wants to see all storage locations belongs to only one plant,in the out put of this field u can enter the specific plant and it will display all storage location for that plant.

Has anyone picked materials from one storage location but confirmed TO to different storage location?

The business does not want to use MRP areas to segregate materials between service part and production. What they want to do is separate service parts on deliveries at our shipping storage types (915/916) from MRP view. This requirement is primarily for our international shipping area. We may pick parts for an international shipment and the parts will sit on the delivery - not goods issued because we don't want to invoice - for up to 3 months. During that time, MRP sees the inventory so replenishment is not done in a timely fashion or parts may get stolen from the shipment for a production requirement because the inventory is seen.
Could one solution be to create a non-MRP relevant storage location (say 1200) and place the shipping storage types in this storage location? Then when the transfer order creates, the system would show the source to be from the MRP relevant SLoc (1100), stype (130), bin (A-01-A), - these are examples - with the destination to be to non-MRP relevant SLoc 1200, stype 915, bin (dynamic using the delivery number) 0080745298? Has anyone had this type of request or know of a way to satisfy the business requirements without different MRP areas? They also do not want to have two transfer orders - one with a 601 movement and one with a 311 movement.
Any known solutions or outside-the-box thinking would greatly appreciated.

I don't have the solution, just some critical questions and hints
Even a non-MRP relevant storage location can be warehouse managed.
The stock is shown in any stock list as long it is not goods issued, no matter if it is stored in a
non-MRP relevant storage location.
Stock that is picked for a delivery is not available for others, it is reserved. A delivery is a MRP element and hence should be taken into consideration in the planning run.
A non-MRP relevant storage location will only solve your planning issues if you move the material there if it is not yet picked and allocated to a delivery.
Do your thieves really use SAP to check if the stock is there, or do they just see the stock in the warehouse? As said, the non-MRP relevant storage location will not solve this issue since the stock is still visible.

Serial numbers are not copied to new storage location for 311 mvt type

Hi Guys
I have 10 stock of material A in 001 Storage location ,which all the quantity is serial number managed
I have transfered 10 quantity of Material A to 002 location from 001 location using 311 MIGO
But serial numbers are not copied to 002 location after transfer posting
001 and 002 are both are WM linked and belongs to same plant
Can any body suggest good solution,how it can be done

1.Check in material master whether serial number management is active in Plant data/stor Tab and serial number profile is assigned
2. Check while doing MIGO once if u enter the material and transfer qty you are getting the serial number tab or not
3. If everything is ok, then after posting the document check the serial number status in IQ09, check the stock type and the storgae location in the serdata tab

Allow Goods Movement for materials through specified storage Location

Dear Experts ,
In Process order while confirming the goods movement , i want that goods movement shoould be allowed only through the specified storage location that is the production store . Even if the stock is there in the other stores like the general; store , i donot want the goods movement to be done.
Kindly guide me how can this be done ?

We have maintained the Pord Storage location in both BOM & Material Master.
Despite this in Good Movement for process order the system doesnt stop from selecting any storage .
I want that it should not be possible to post an entry from any other store.
Is there any other way to do it without the user exit ?

Maintain new storage location for existing material codes

Dear,
We want to extend material master to more storage locations. Currently we have coding starting from 910000 for finish material and is configured for storage location FG01, now we want to extend all the codes with 91 series to storage location PR06 & QC01
The same needs to be done for many other material codes with different series.

You can use extend the material from Plant to plant or from Storage location to storage location.
or 2nd is that Go to SE16 to get all material from MARD Table. then
export in Excel and go to Mass mainteince in material master to extend the material.

New Storage location

The external hard drive that I've use for my LR photos is filling up. I've bought a new, larger hard drive. How do I relocate my existing images into the new hard drive so that LR continues to locate them?

On the old external hard drive put all images / image folders into one parent folder. Do this in Lightroom so that LR "knows" what is happening.
Then close LR. In your OS (Mac Finder / Win Explorer) move this parent foder (with all the included sub-folders) to the new hard drive. Depending on how many images you have this may take quite a while. If you prefer, you can copy the parent folder - just to make sure all images have arrived safely on the new hard drive. Warning: At this point do not change the folder structure or folder names!
Now disconnect the old hard drive from the computer and open LR.
You will see - in the folders panel - that all folders have question marks besides them. That is expected. Since you moved the parent folder outtside of LR (in your OS), LR doesn't "know" where your images are.
In the folders panel right-click the parent folder that you created earlier and select <Find missing folder>. Navigate to the location on the new hard drive and click on it. LR will then find all the sub-folders in this parent folder on its own - provided that you have NOT changed the folder names and/or the folder structure.\
