Moving metadata into content server

Hi Everybody,
Does anybody have an idea on how the Metadata in KM can be moved to Content server ?
What configuration steps to be done both from KM and Content server?
And once metadata is moved to content server how the documents can be accessed in KM from this migrated metadata(Documents, content) In content server?
Could somebody help on this.....
Thanks & Regards
Sireesha.

Dear Vasudeva,
Please refer to SAPNote "900571".
There is no specific way to move metadata into content server all CM Modes DBFS, FSDB metadata is always stored into Portal DB and I don't have much Idea for DB Mode....
If you want to store KM files into content server than its possible using DBFS & FSDB Mode but not possible to migrate metadata into content server

  • Store document into Content Server

    Dear All;
    l have the following requirement for Content Server;
    - Generate the PR/PO form via print program.
-Approver's signature will be display accordingly by the approval level.               EG:  1st level approver 'A' have been approved. Signature of approver 'A' will be display on the generated PR/PO form.                                        - Convert the generated form into PDF format.                         -To attach the supporting document via Generic Object Services (GOS).               -To store the PDF form & attached documents into Archived Link content server with URL address returned.
-An notification mail will send to respective approver based on release strategy configuration.
Basically it is Workflow integrate with Content Server.  There are few thing for me to do here:
    1. Store the PO/PR document into Content Server
    2. Run the workflow and view the attachement and add new attachement to Content Server from the Workflow process.
    3. Return the URL address to the user for the document that saved into Content Server
l'm trying to do the first requirement now.
The user will create the PR in tcode ME52N and PO in tcode ME22N, they can create the attachement and view the attachement, and the attachement are stored in the ECC6 database.
l have installed the Content Server 6.40 with Filesystem (not the MaxDB) cause user do not want to buy the MaxDB license.
The Content server 6.4 installation is completed, l can configure the CSDMIN in ECC6,
In OAC0, l have created the Content Repository=ZA,
    Document Area = ARCHIVELINK
Storage type = 04 HTTP Content server
    Version=0046
    Http Server = 10.120.0.10
    Port Number = 1090
    HTTP Script= ContentServer/ContentServer.dll
    Transfer drctry =
    10.100.0.10\cm\exdir   /# \cm\exdir is a directory in Content Server. #/
the physical directory created in the Content Server as
    10.120.0.10\cm\za
    In OAC2, l have created a new Document type=ZCS, the document class=PDF
In OAC3, l have created the following:
    Object Type= BUS2012, Document Type= ZCS, Link=X, Cont.Rep.ID=ZA, Link=TOA01, Rentention=99
    Object Type= BUS2105, Document Type= ZCS, Link=X, Cont.Rep.ID=ZA, Link=TOA01, Rentention=99
(Honestly, l'm not quite sure the BUS2012 will work, it created by functional team, which l'm sure it actually represent the business object for PO and PR)
With these, l think the linkage between business object and logical archive is established, but when l saved the attachement in ME22N and ME52N, the document still save into ECC6 Database, not the Content Server, because in the /cm/za directory in the Content server still empty.
Anyone please advise any documentation/steps do store the document in Content Server from PO/PR and with returned URL to the users.
    Please help..
    Many thanks
    Jordan

    Dear all;
Thanks for the information, l manage to store document actually.
l used the OAAD to test to stored, once it is working, then l can use the option 'Store business document" ME23N and ME52N transaction code.
One question here l would like to check:
The WorkFlow team said that the Generic Object Service (GOS) - "Create Attachement" option in ME23N can actually store the document to Content Server instead of store into R3 Database.  He claimed some Basis have done it before, can anyone clarify if it is true?
In OAC0, l have ZB Content Repository, set the "Storage Type = 04 HTTP Content Server" in order to save the document to Content Server.  The Document Area=Archive Link.
With these setting l can only use the "Store Business Document" option to store the document to Content Server, not the "Create Attachement".
l try to change the Document Area with different option like DMS, BDS etc but l can't get the Content Rep ID for ZB in OAC3 to link the Object Type?
    Anyone can help?
    Many thanks.

  • Moving docs from Content Server 6.30/SAP DB to CS 6.40/MaxDB. Problems?

    Hi SAP Experts
A question today about Content Server versions and unicode.
We are planning to extract documents stored in SAP Content Server 6.30 (SAPDB 7.3) connected to ECC5.
And move the documents to be stored in a separate SAP Content Server 6.40 (MaxDB 7.6) connected to a different ECC5 system.
I have seen that the latest MaxDB 7.6 is installed as unicode by default.
    The CS 6.30 with SAPDB 7.30 is non-unicode (CODE=ASCII)
Does anyone know of any issues we may encounter with this process?
Logically we are taking a document stored in a Non-Uni database (CS 6.30/SAPDB 7.3) and moving it to be stored in a Uni database (CS 6.40/MaxDB 7.6).
Thanks for your thoughts on this.
    Regards Graham

    Hi Gregor,
That's what I thought may have been the case. Since I sent this post, I tried bypassing SAPINST by analyzing install scripts, and manually installing the Apache shared library, and other config files. At this point, I can bring-up the content server, but somehow it is not able to analyze the archivelink function from the URL. Finally I gave up, and decided to use supposted Linux distributions, I was trying to avoid initially as those were not free as for such a small component, seemed like overkill.
    Thanks for the information.

  • SAP Content Server 6.40 on Windows 2003, IIS 6, filesystem storage

    Hello:
We have installed SAP Content Sever 6.40 on Windows Server 2003, IIS 6, and using the filesystem as storage, not SAPDB.
The installation goes without any issues and completes successfully, but the test URL http://<host>:<port>/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?serverInfo returns "The page cannot be displayed" and not the expected system info/status. We need to fix this before moving on to config in ERP, any suggestions into Content Server or IIS settings/configuration is appreciated.
We're using the standard install port 1090, and testing from a browser in the same host.
    Regards,
    Eduardo

    Additional information:
Looking in the event viewer under application, I see the following 2 errors:
    1) The HTTP Filter DLL D:\Program Files\SAP\Content Server\ContentServer.dll failed to load.  The data is the error.
    Data: 0000: 0000007f
    2) Could not load all ISAPI filters for site/service.  Therefore startup aborted.

    Hello,
You can use File to File using FTP at the Receiver side
And also you are handling the File  data, you may use the File content conversion. In Receiveing File communication channel ,select the FTP connection and provide all the Technical details regarding the DMS Content Server .

  • Content Server using MaxDB 7.6

    Dear all:
I am running ECC5.0 using Oracle 10g and also running EHS module.  Since EHS contribute the data growth 15 times faster than other SAP modules total,  I decide to move EHS MSDS (pdf files, etc..) to content server using MaxDB 7.6 in order to slow down the data groth. I have set up the content server and the connection between SAP and content server is fine.
I can also move the pdf files from SAP into content server and I can also access the pdf files after I moved it to content server.
However, I would like to verify the pdf files in the content server MaxDB. Is anyway I can find out where is the data stored in the content server MaxDB? how can I find out the table name that the data stored? Like oracle, I can find out the table and run SQL to retrieve the record.  I believe MaxDB come with SQL studio that should be to do something similar but I just don't know how to approach it. Thanks.

    > I can also move the pdf files from SAP into content server and I can also access the pdf files after I moved it to content server.
    Hi LaDo,
the Content Server schema design is actually pretty simple.
The documents you store into the content server are saved in LONG columns. So to access this data you would have to read this binary data by a program. You cannot simply use a text-based SQL interface like sqlcli or SQL Studio for that.
    > However, I would like to verify the pdf files in the content server MaxDB. Thanks.
As I've written above, the data is stored in binary form and you will have to use a program that takes this data and saves a file from it.
Anyhow to explore the content server schema, just use the SQL Studio or the DB Studio, logon as the SAP<SID> user and check what tables there are.
There will be displayed just in the DB Objects treeviews.

  • Content server for Document attachment through "services for object" Icon.

    Guys,
I have typical problem in installation of Content server for storing external documents.
We all know that we can attach the document in SAP using the icon “SERVICES FOR OBJECT”. By this we can attach the document to the specific object we want.
-Since my client wants only document attachment method not to completely implement SAP DMS, I proposed this method of attaching documents through services for object method.
-If documents are stored though services for object ,The attached document will directly get stored in sap database(correct me if I am wrong) while  in  DMS it ask you to select the storage location while u check in for any document
-By storing the doc thru "services for object " For long run when we store the documents in sap database our system will drastically get slow down.
-In this regard I have a plan to incorporate external storage server.
-Now I should know that how I should customize content server configuration so that the attachment through services for object will store into this content server I need to know how to define Client, Content Category, Content Repository, Document Area, Physical Machine, IP Address, Port. (OACT & OAC0)
I appreciate for immediate solution and <u><b>Points will be rewarded for sure.</b></u>
    Regards,
    Murali.S

    Hi Murali,
    Don't Worry, its possible,
All attachments can be stored in SAP Content Server also, but through archiving process.
Set up a database storage system.
    Preparation
Make sure that the HTTP plugin is active.
Transaction <b>SMICM,</b> "Display Services" function key (shift F1)). The list of services must contain a port other than 0 for HTTP.If not, you must adjust the relevant profile parameter.
    <u>Typical entry:</u>
    icm/server_port_0         PROT=HTTP, PORT=1080, TIMEOUT=900
<b>Make sure that the /sap/bc/contentserver service is active.</b>
If no user is defined, then use transaction SU01 to create a new user. Use the "System" user type.Assign
the SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW profiles to the user. (Eg: HRUSER/PLMUSER/PPUSER etc)
Transaction <b>SICF,</b> select: default_host - sap - bc -contentserver. Select the function to display/change the service. Make sure that a user is defined.
Using the relevant data from the newly created user, maintain the anonymous logon data for the
/default_host/sap/bc/ service and save & activate the changes in transaction <b>SICF</b>.  Double click on content server and give the user name which has been created (HRUSER/PLMUSER/PPUSER/MMUSER etc)
    Check the system PSE.
Start transaction <b>STRUST</b>. Expand the system PSE. The system PSE must be "green" for each application
    server.
    Determine a suitable exchange directory.
The exchange directory must be accessible from each application server. If all application servers are running on the same platform (for example, Windows), one network directory that is accessible on all application server (for example,
server\share) is sufficient. You can generally use the global directory
(profile parameter DIR_GLOBAL).You can use the RSPARAM report to determine the profile parameters.
    Setting up the storage
Create a table for storing the data. Using transaction <b>SE11</b>, create a copy of the SDOKCONT1
table. If you want to create the repository database, you can name the table ZCONT_DB, for example. Save the
table as a local object. Activate the table.
    Create a repository.
Use transaction <b>OAC0</b> to create a new repository.
    Use the following parameters:
Repository Max. two characters, for example,” Z1”
    DocArea: ARCHLINK
    Storage type: R/3 database
    Storage subtype: normal
    Version no. : 0046
    Contents table <table name> for example: ZCONT_DB
Exchange directory <directory name> for example:
    server\share\
Make sure that the exchange list ends with a \ (or /on Unix). If you are using a variety of platforms, you must use transaction FILE to define a suitable logical file name and use this name. Save the settings.
    1. Maintain view table <b>TOAAR_C</b>, via SM31
Cross client table displayed as information, forget it
    2. In field 'StSytm' you must entered 'Z1' as your system need, or anything that you need but you must configure HR Archive link too.
    3. In field 'Arch.path' (direct above Spoolpath), entered path in your system, this real path in your operating system. May be you should confirm to your Basis consultant where exactly you could store picture files. So if you enter '/', your file exists at root directory at your UNIX system.
    4. Choose 'File store' radio button
    5. Save.
    First
<b>1. You have to create a number range for SAP ArchiveLink.
IMG: Basis Components-> Basis Services -> SAP ArchiveLink -> Basic Settings-> Maintain number ranges
(Trxn <b>OANR).</b> Create number range 01 from 0000000001 to 9999999999 without the external number flag.
    2. Document type <b>HRICOLFOTO</b> must exist with document class JPG.
        IMG: Basis Components->Basis Services->SAP ArchiveLink->System Settings->Maintain document types
        (Table<b> TOAVE, Trxn OAC2).</b>
    3. Document type <b>HRICOLFOTO</b> must be linked to object type PREL and Infotype PA0002.
IMG: Personnel Management->Personnel Administration->Tools->Optical archiving->Set up Optical Archiving
in HR.  (View V_T585O, no Trxn). In the first two columns there are minuses, the third (Date) has
a plus - don't put a flag in the check box.
    4. Check which content repository (Archive) is linked to document type HRICOLFOTO and object type
        PREL. IMG: <b>Basis Components->Basis Services->SAP ArchiveLink->Basic Settings->Maintain Links (Table
       TOAOM_C, Trxn).</b></b>
    Test
    • Test the repository.
Use transaction SE38 to start the RSCMSTH0 report. Specify your repository (i.e. Z1) and start the test.
The report must run without errors. If no problems occurred, you can use the new repository with Archive Link after you carry out the Archive Link Customizing. If problems do occur, check whether one of the related
    notes helps.

NOTE:- Screen Shots are missing, i was not able to paste here, One more thing is we did this for uploading a PHOTOS into Content Server, Similarly you have to create a REPOSITORY and Z-TABLE to bring all the Attachments from all the selected Objects and then route them to the CONTENT REPOSITORY.</b></u>

  • Incorrect url getting generated for content server download

    Hi,
In the MIC(Management for Internal Controls) system, the standard functionality of downloading attachments after they have been uploaded into content server (FOPC_DB) is not working. When this download link is clicked, it opens another webpage and its URL is pointing to wrong  port number.
    Detailed analysis:
On further analysis, we arrived at the following observations:
The URL for Start page of MIC is as follows:
    http://hostname.com:8050/sap/bc/bsp/sap/fopc_start/start.htm?s
Whereas the incorrect url getting generated during down load is
    http://hostname.com:8097/...........
The sap webdispatcher is running on the system using port 8050. Whereas the ICM engine is running on port 8097. The download url picks up the port number of default ICM which the sap webdispacher does not allow to display.
We require help in changing the port number so that correct url gets generated. This url should carry the port number of  sap webdispatcher.
    Thanks for the help.

  • FileName from the Content Server

    Hi All ,
I need to show the FileName of a File uploaded into SAP Content Server .
Example if I upload fiel ABC.pdf I should be able to get the name "ABC.pdf" form content server
is there any FM available ?
Note : While storing the file into content server it is creating the unique ID(system generated GUID) for each uploaded File.
Using this ID I am able to show the contents of file using FileDownload but the label I need to show as the FileName and
              not the ID.
    Regards,

I am having this problem as well, with IE5.0 as well as IE5.5 on Windows 2000. I have tried the above suggestion and that doesnt seem to work. I have also tried to use a
Content-Disposition of "inline" to just view
the document and that seems to work incorrectly too; an IE dialog comes up
asking to open/save the download JSP.
I have tried loads of variations and based
my code on Marks stuff posted in this group
    e.g. renderContent.
    Any more suggestions/work arounds?

  • Content Server Details

    Hi,
A content sever has been installed for implementing SAP DMS at our site.
Please let me know how can i check the details of the same and how can i check the files stored in the server.
    Please help me out.
    Regards
    Ramesh

    Hello Ramesh,
I understand with your explination that you are using KPRO to store the DMS document into Content server.
All the documents stored in the Content serve will be assigned by Storage category...
Check in the table DMS_PH_CD1 with your DMS storage category for all the physical DMS documents stored.
For space occupied you have to check in CSADMIN transaction.
    Hope this help's.

  • BAPI for copying a file to Content Server

We have a scenario where we need to transfer a file into Content Server, create a link to the document in Content Server to a tcode through ArchiveLink, and create a link to the document in Content Server through a third-part application.
Is there a BAPI or RFC that takes the document as input and returns a link to the document in Content Server?

    hi,
    Castillo,
    1. consider manual linking.
a.when we uploade original file to DMS ie tc-CV01N through data carrier as 'PC' for front end, which is prerequisit for
        identifiying original file path.
    b. Now whil saving DIR, we need to Check in to secure storage, ie, using Storage category, ex DMS_C1_ST. this will save as document as logical document. here interesting is acuall phisical conten is stored in Conten server as your case ex Z_DMS.
So SAP DMS is made for Secure storing of originals.
Q?is, how to pass PATHS for this during Uploading, using  tools ex LSMW.
In LSMW we can upload originals to DMS.
but i don't know it works for Archive linking.
