Moving mouse's location, post-FMR?

In the grand scheme of things, this is more of an annoyance than anything, but I hope someone can help. In my Cap 5 project, I've got a few slides with FMR--in all cases, the cursor highlights text to remove it. Unfortunately, in the next screen (post-FMR), the mouse's movement starts in the upper left side of the screen. This is a bit confusing for my intended audience, since the field that I just highlighted was in the middle of the screen:
I know how to edit the mouse's starting position at the beginning of my capture but I can't seem to find how to edit it mid-project. Any thoughts?

The workaround is to add an extra slide right after the FMR slide and set it to only one tenth of a second duration. Have the mouse on this slide jump from the position at the end of the slide before the FMR to the mouse position right at the end of the FMR. Because it happens so quickly, the user doesn't notice the jump in mouse position.

Do you still have access to the old MacBook Pro? If so, you can transfer the license by copying the com.apple.iwork.plist from Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences to the same location on the new Mac. Note that this IS the main HD Library, not your user library. I have found that these files are not moved during setup or migration.
Are you really running Tiger 10.4.7? If so, you should update to 10.4.11. You can find the updater here. You also might consider buying the retail disk of iWork '09 from a third-party such as Amazon.com or eBay. It will add a lot of features for you. iWork '09 does require Tiger 10.4.11 at a minimum.

Error: File could not be moved to selected location

I get an error code "file could not be moved to selected location" when trying to move an image or a folder from one hard drive to another within Lightroom.
I am migrating from a Windows-based PC to an iMac. I successfully used Lightroom to move all my images and catalogs from the PC hard file to a USB attached hard file. I was able to go to the iMac and move the Lightroom Catalog from USB attached drive to the Apple Macintosh drive. I was able to bring up Lightroom with moved Lightroom Catalog and work with all of my images. Then using Lightroom I was unable to move the images to the Macintosh hard drive without getting the error code above.
What now?

Thanks for you input. The "from" hard drive where I placed the Catalog and images to port them to the Apple from the Windows PC is a read only on the Apple system. The Macintosh drive (and a Drobo drive that I have also tried to write to are formatted for Apple. I read/write on them when moving files outside of Lightroom. It's just within Lightroom where the problem seems to exist. I want to work within Lightroom so that the Catalog is up-to-date.

A good part of my photo's are suddenly "moved" to another location and I cannot acces them.

I always work with a external hard disk on the location that the computer refers to as the letter "O".
Now a lot of my folders and including images are mysteriously moved to a location "G" and other photo's to a location mentioned "N". See the images I included.
The G-location and N-location, on which I don't know what kind of device of disk this could be, is according to lightroom " offline".
It is now not possible to acces these photo's. And I worked on these photo's (selections and editing) for months..
If I import the images again I will lose all the actions I have taken allready.
Is there any way to tackle this problem?

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start
with Option #4 and then #1 as needed.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Flex app doesn't work when moved from original location

I'm trying to make an image gallery in flex. It works when I run it in Flex Builder perfectly fine. The html and swf files from the bin-debug folder work perfectly fine when opened in any browser also, but ONLY when those files and all related files are opened from the default location that the application was built in. When I export a build to a different folder, the swf loads but none of the information from the xml file displays. I tried setting all of the paths of the reference files (namely the xml) in the flex app to the exact absolute location on the server, and it still didn't work when I uploaded it to the server.
I've tried several approaches starting from scratch and they have all come up with the same issue. I'm working with an educational license for Flex Builder, I'm not sure if they jip you on those and ruin the compiled swf.
Please help! I'm losing my mind over this.I think it has to do with something else besides the code since it works fine when I hit "Run", but if anyone thinks it will help to post the code let me know.

when you build an application using one of the wizards (like coldfusion flex application wizard) it hard codes
paths to cold fusion CFC's, and sometimes gets it wrong.
If your application references cfc's (or other remote objects) then it may be necessary to adjust the flex code
when moving the code into a different base folder.
For example in my own application, the url is http://localhost/crm_dev_flex and the built application gets put into
c:\inetpub\wwwroot\crm_dev_flex\bin-debug
References in the code to components found in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\crm_dev_flex\bin-debug\components\cfgenerated
(in the flex code these looks like crm_dev_flex.bin-debug.components.cfgenerated.<mycomponent> )
These need to change when you move the code to somewhere else.
Also, if you are using wizard generated cfc's then these also contain similar references that need to be changed.

I'm sure a lot of you have seen the tutorials for buttonless
scrolling (where you move your cursor to the right of the screen
and the movieclip scrolls to the left etc). Here is an excellent

instead of scrolling the MC left and right. So, as your cursor
moves to the right of the screen, the globe rotates in an

OK, I've got a script that is a lot easier and DOES rotate
the m/c! It's:

But it stops when my cursor does. In the scrolling example,
the further right your cursor goes, the more the horizontal MC
scrolls. Only when the cursor is in the centre of the screen does
the globe stop rotating.
So what I really need here is a globe that starts to rotate
anti-clockwise when the cursor is moved to the right...the further
right it goes, the faster it rotates. When the cursor moves to a
central location, the speed of the globe's rotation slows to a stop
(allowing the user to click onto a point on the globe).
If you've given the example I linked to above a go, this
should be a little clearer. It's hard to put into writing, but I
hope you get the idea. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Grey trail when moving mouse cursor

Have I got a virus on my Mac when i get a grey trail when moving the mouse cursor? Please advise.

This is not malware of any kind. What it is is uncertain, but it sounds like a very serious low-level problem. I assume this gray trail is left indefinitely on your screen, unless a portion of the screen is redrawn? Try taking a screenshot by pressing command-shift-3, then open the screen shot file that appears on your desktop. Does the gray trail show up in the screenshot? If so, can you post the screenshot here? (Click the camera icon in the editor toolbar in a new post here and attach that screenshot file. Make sure there's no sensitive personal information showing in the screenshot.)

Disable fullscreen toggle via moving mouse to the top of the display

is there any way to disable the fade-in of the toolbar triggered by moving the mouse to the top of the screen?
Some of my webpages are running in fullscreen mode and have their on navigationbar at the top, everytime the uses moves the mouse up the Firefox menubar fades in which is quit annoying.
I also accept solutions containing changes in the about:config.

You can't disable this via changing a pref on the about:config page.
You would have to do this via code in the userChrome.css file.
Add code to the userChrome.css file below the default @namespace line.

Moving mouse pointer to menu dims window and shows all open windows at once

when i'm in safari and i move my mouse pointer to the upper left corner of a window that is almost full screen, that window dims and a black bar appears in the middle of this window with a discription of it. as an example

if i have 2 windows open one shows lower left and the other upper right and i have to click the mouse button on the window i was using to get it back and get the other behind it.
is there a setting in preferances that causes this that i can change?

This is what happens for one of the active corners for Exposé, if ("all windows") is the upper left corner. Take a look at "System preferences" , Dashboard & Exposé.

Mouse Pointer Location

How can i get where the mouse pointer is inside a jframe opened up in full screen mode.
I want to be able to tell exactly where the mouse pointer is, from any component i have inside the screen.
For example when calling the rendering. Some components will be drawn near where the mouse pointer is currently at.
How do i check where the pointer is?
I read the event tutorials on mouseListeners... and it did not sound like anything i wanted. It has nothing to do with a mouse movement, click, entering of components etc.
I just want to be able to tell the pointers location at an instant anytime, from anywhere.

Have to have mouse listeners on all kinds of stuff... and in every event handler add so it checks for parent components and sets a static x and y coordinate in the application (with the current component e.getX,X + parent x,y)...Maybe Java doesn't have this ability built in (the assumption is that you only need to know where the mouse is when a MouseEvent is generated. Why do you need to know where the mouse is when you generate a key event?)
But if you have been following my answers its not that difficult to add the ability to find the mouse coordinates:
1) Create a static variable for the JFrame
2) Add an AWTEventListener to the main JFrame and save the mouse event to the above variable
3) Create a static method in the JFrame to convert this mouse event to whatever Point you want (relative to the screen, relative to the Frame, relative to the component)
All the changes are done in one place, the JFrame 5-6 lines of code.
Maybe theres an easier way, but I haven't found it.

Migrating to PSE10 & moving default storage locations

Greetings all,
I have purchased the upgrade from PSE9 to PSE10 and am planning to migrate the default location of my images and catalog from a local drive on my Windows 7 PC to a NAS device. I am wanting to move the default location to a NAS so that I can access the catalog, thumbnails and images from more than 1 location. (Yes, I know about the performace problems if using a wifi and am not).
The question that I have is one of sequencing these steps. What is the best sequence in order to reduce the hassles associated of migrating to the newest software version and moving the location of of all of the image assets I have, knowing that I have about 10k images in my catalog.
At a bare minimum I know I need to:
upgrade my local PSE9 application to PSE10
possibly export the catalog
import the catalog into the new catalog on the NAS
etc
What is the best sequencing of steps to help me stay clear of trouble as I have a lot of tagging and ratings that I what to preserve?

Probably best to treat it like the purchase of a brand new computer and use the built in Backup and Restore commands.
I think its best for optimum performance to ensure the catalog as well as the images are stored on the NAS.
The catalog data base normally has a default location in the system files (often hidden files)
You can find the path to the current catalog by opening the Organizer and clicking Help à System info
