Moving multiple scenes in to one timeline

Is there a way to do this? I am just now hearing of (and experiencing) all the downfalls of using scenes to create an interactive website. I may have to start the whole thing over at the mid point if there isn't a way to convert it into one. Any ideas? It will save a week's worth of work! Thanks.

you can copy all the frame in a scene and paste them into any movieclip, including the main timeline.

Moving multiple reporting servers to one server

Our current environment consists of several 2008 r2 native reporting servers that have there own reporting database.
Our new environment will be a load balanced 2012 native report server that will use one 1 SQL 2012 reporting database. How would I go about migrating all the 2008 R2 databases into 1 central database. I have read up about some migration tools
that are available but I'm not sure if the tool(s) will allow the option for specifying a specific database, which will allow all the content to moved.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Moving multiple clips together on the timeline

I have multiple clips on a time line and need to move them together either right or left to accomodate new additions.

There are a number of ways of "selecting" multiple clips (including a Tool)
Lasso them as a group
Shift-Select them individualy to create a group selection
Ctrl-A select all of them ( targeted tracks)
Track Tool
and Keyboard short cuts too...
Select ....and move , nudge, cut, copy, paste, drag......

How do you select/move multiple clips from one timeline to another?

Has to do with combining multiple edls from Avid - required due to an issue with duplicate reel names in the original Arri footage. I can move them one at a time, but it is very tedious. Is there a way to select multiple clips and move them together?

Actually discovered the magic of the shift key.
IRCP Beauty doesn't recognize multiple timelines in a session, so first you have to at least get the footage on multiple tracks in the same timeline. Shift + drag on the track will allow you to move it to another timeline. Also Shift + drag on the center of the first clip in a sequence will slide the entire sequence down - which is how timelines end up getthing offset all the time. Also, if there are multiple tracks in a timeline and some are locked and some aren't, Shift + drag on a clip will slide ALL UNLOCKED tracks in the timeline.
Finally, Shift + click on either in or out marker moves both points up or down the timeline.

Moving multiple queries from one category to another in QM

Hi All,
Is there is any way of moving multiple queries from one category to another in the query manager?
Or is the only way of doing it by saving each one individually into a different category.
Any ideas ?

Hi Rakesh,
The query manager has limited function compare with normal file management applications. Under current design, you have to do this one by one. You just need to make sure move the smaller amount of queries to large category. Category name can be changed easily.

Multiple clips in one timeline - Frame freezes between each clips!!!

Yeah, I've read a couple of topics and didn't found any real info about my problems...
All my clips are encoded in mpeg2DVD... I've created one timeline and put all of these in order... When I'm watching the preview, everything is fine... BUT after I burned the DVD... on players, it freezes every time the clips changes... just for a second... but it's really annoying...
It's like all the time a clip changes on my timeline, it senses it... and freeze a little bit...
I've erased all the chapters...
Tried the play lists...
Wonder if there's anything else I can do to?

You're not going to get around this using MPEG-2 files.
What the function is actually doing (under the hood) is creating VM commands that go from one movie to the next movie. This is why the pause - the player is "reading" the commands at the end of the clip, as it needs to know where to go next. It's effectively a POST command linking the end action of one timeline to the next.
You can always try using AVI files, and allowing Encore to transcode the timelines to MPEG-2 - this might get around the problem.

Using a function in multiple scenes

I have a .fla project being created under CS4, using
ActionScript 3.0, that consists of multiple scenes.
In the code attached to the first scene, I define some
functions that are used as methods on buttons:

And I use a couple of the functions as EventListener methods
on buttons

Key1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP,AlphaonepointO);
So far so good.
Then, I create a second scene in which I have some other
buttons.
When I try using the same functions as eventlisteners on
these buttons, in the code for the second scene:
Key11.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN,AlphaPoint6);
Key11.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP,AlphaonepointO);
then, I get the error messages
1120: Access of undefined property AlphaPoint6
1120: Access of undefined property AlphaonepointO
BUT, if I try declaring these functions again with the script
of the second scene, I get the error message
1021 Duplicate Function definition
So, I seem to be stuck between a rock and a hard place. On
the one hand, when the compiler parses the second scene, it
believes those functions are defined (as it is not happy if you try
defining them again). On the other hand, the compiler does not
think they are defined. as it considers them to be undefined
properties.
Does anyone have an idea about how to resolve this conumdrum?

One option is to not use scenes. Just take what you have as
scenes and either place them in the one timeline, or convert them
into movielcips. In my own design work, I have never used scenes.
When I first encopuntered them via someone else's design, I
immediately disliked them because it meant I had to search thru
inobvious places to find things that needed to be revised. Other
folks that help in these forums have their own reasons for
promoting not using scenes... troublesome, unreliable, outdated,
etc

Is there a way to make multiple Scene Menus?

I am using Premiere Elements 8.0 to make a DVD of different slideshows. I was wondering if there is a way to make multiple Scene Menus from a single Main DVD Menu. I want to be able to link to a second scenes menu not connected to the first one, almost like a Deleted Scenes or Special Features option on a DVD.

Not directly in PrE. The Menu Sets are designed to automatically generate the necessary Scene Menus, based on the DVD Markers, and linked from the Main Menu.
One can use an authoring program, like Sony's DVD Architect to do what you want. One would Export/Share the Timeline, and then Import that into DVD Architect.
There are some tutorials, and also a link to Steve Grisetti's book on Sony DVD Architect on the Muvipix site.

HT1689 How do I download multiple itunes accounts on one computer under one user?

Recenlty moved to one account on our windows 7 computer to cut down on potential malware issues that allowed malware to migrate over to other user accounts. However, we have different iTunes accounts and want to be able to download our individual music from each of our devices that include an iphone 4, iphone 4S, and ipod. How do I create this capability under one windows 7 user account?

A single computer can be authorized for multiple iTunes accounts but only one account can be signed into the store at a time.
Frankly, you are better off with unique Windows User accounts for each user.

Combining .fla files with multiple scenes

I understand how to combine a simple flash file into another,
but my problem is the files I am trying to combine have multiple
scenes. How would I do this?

I'm doing a short 20 second animation that I've developed in
4 different chunks. Now I'd like to string them all together into
one big project, but I have no idea how.

"manually manage music..." missing songs when moving multiple albums at once

Since updating to iTunes 10.6.1.7, when adding songs to my iPhone (iPhone 4, iOS 5.1) it does not fully copy every track/song.
I have it set to "manually manage music and videos" ...when I am moving multiple albums to the thing at once, the earlier albums only copy the songs started before I select the next album. Consequently, I find that I only have partial albums for almost everything. I suppose I could be patient and wait for each album to download before selecting another album, but this used to work before and took a lot less time. (I would drag multiple albums into my iPhone and it would queue up all of the tracks(songs) and correctly download asynchronously.)
Is this a known bug or is there something I am doing wrong? (As always, I did some searching for answers but came up empty on this one...)

The order iTunes is showing the tracks can be changed. Select the album column heading to get tracks list in album order. Normally within an album the tracks will list in track order when viewing this way.

Moving Multiple Subtitles

I have a ten minute educational video that I have manually created subtitles for in DVDSP4 (I realize there are better methods for creating subtitles, but I wanted to get this done as quickly as possible and I very rarely do subtitles).
After placing all of the subtitles, I decided to trim one section of the video by a couple of seconds in FCP. I then reimported the footage into DVDSP. I was hoping to then select all of the subtitles after the edit point and move them to the left by the duration of the trim, but unfortunately I cant figure out how to move more than one subtitle at a time. Even if I select multiple subtitles, only the one that is clicked on gets moved. Even better would be to just hit the "minus" key, type the duration and hit return to move them, like you can with clips in FCP.
Is there any way to move a range of subtitles, or do I have to move each of them one by one? (Im hoping Im just mising something as it would be incredibly stupid if this was the case)

As Hal says Belle Nuit is supposed to be good. Played with the demo but never actually used it extensively. STLEdit would be your best bet but unfortunately the developer has stopped offering it for sale due to lack of interest.
We use both STLEdit and on a PC we use Lemony which is very good for taking one subtitle format and changing to another, shifting timecodes, etc.
Subtitle Workshop on the PC is supposed to be good. I believe soemone on the Tully DVDList (Bouke?) is about to release new subtitling tool.
Most people who deal with subtitling a lot are usually supplied with some kind of ready prepared file from the film distributor or the like. We do quite a few Japanese movies and always get some kind of file sent with timecode references - of course the English often has to be corrected! (Bet their English is better than my Japanese however...)

Moving multiple objects in a Finder window

Try a simple experiment in Tiger (10.4): in a Finder window with the icon view + snap to grid ON, select multiple grouped objects (e.g. 10-20) and move them to a different place in the same window.
They will not stay grouped but be sometimes dispersed in a random way or even move to places belonging to different grids.
Another experiment is to move a single object from one window into another one: this changes the grid of the second window from time to time.
This is extremely annoying when you want to keep the icons ordered.
This bug existed also in Panther.
I'm convinced it will exist in the next Mac OS X release. Do you bet ?

In my case there are no other major application running when I see the moving multiple objects bug in the Finder. And (as for econupmac) the problem is intermittent.
I've checked the bug again and realize that it appears mostly when I'm moving a group of objects belonging to different columns. Here is what I did:
Create a folder with the 'Snap to grid' option ON and 'Icon size 16x16'. Set its View as Icon. Load this folder with 30 files and organize them into 3 groups of 10 files side by side. Enlarge the size of the folder to have plenty space by maneuver.
Now select the 5 bottom files of the middle column and move them gently around, then release them. The 'Snap to grid' feature will work fine and the files will be shifted to the nearest grid position... except when the files will stay in the middle of nowhere (you might need to do it several times until it happens).
THIS IS THE APPLE BUG.
This bug is more easily seen when a group of objects belonging to 2 adjacent columns is moved. Check this on a nicely arranged folder : Select the 5 bottom files of the middle column and the 5 bottom files of the right column and move them slightly. I bet that they will not stick to the grid. This will create a second grid which corrupts the folder. The next time you'll move around objects in this folder you'll see how crazy the folder behaves.

Scene clips in the timeline in PE 9

In PE 9, I'm not getting scene clips in the timeline view. Is this a feature or a problem? I get them in PE 7.

It is best not to duplicate a thread. It is confusing the people who reply to the question as well as the person posting the duplicate. Often the writer of the two posts forgets about the existence of one or the other and misses out on valuable information because of that.
This is a user helping other user type forum, and we all do the best we can to help as soon as possible.
Hope my comments in your other thread lead to a quick resolution to your issue.
I suspect that you ran into the always opened tracks of version 7 and the opened or closed track system of version 9.0/9.0.1. But let us see.

How do you make one timeline stop?

i currently have my animation looping but i want to set it up so that one of the layers/animations on my timeline do NOT loop (just fly in once)... i tried adding a stop(); but it seems to stop everything that is moving instead of just the target timeline.

A stop() is a timeline level command, and a timeline can include several layers, meaning every layer on a timeline can be impacted by a stop() on one layer. I can't tell how you've designed your animation, so you'll need to explain that if my guess at a solution that follows isn't on target.
Create the one animation that you want to have stop as a movieclip unto itself. You can do this by copying the frames and pasting them into an empty movieclip symbol. Place a stop() at the end of the timeline inside that movieclip. Place that movieclip in the timeline where you copied the frames, in place of those frames.
