Moving music from MacBook Pro to iPod Touch

I can't get my music from my MacBook Pro OS X 10.8.2, iTunes 11.0.1, to my iPod Touch 5.1.1.
Any suggestions? Thank you

No the SD card it doesn't mount, but you should be able to transfer music the SD card. You have to use the Bluetooth menu functions on yoru mac. There is a better forum to ask: http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=145

  • How to transfer videos from MacBook Pro to Ipod Touch?

When I plug in my Ipod Touch it only opens up itunes and iphoto. I have no option of copying videos onto my ipod.
It does not come up as an icon on my desktop either.
Can someone help me solve this problem?
    Thanks

Ona Mac, the iPod does not appear on the desktop or in Finder.
You import videos into iPhoto the same was as you import photos in iPhoto. Videos just appear along with photos in iPhoto.

  • Moving Music from Macbook Pro to Nokia

I was wondering - I just got a Nokia 6126 that plays music. If I got a MicroSD card, using Bluetooth, would the card just mount on my desktop and I would then be able to copy music to it.

If you get a microSD card, you need the card reader. They're fairly inexpensive and you can get one on amazon.com if you like. I have an LG phone and it works fine with mine. I suggest one by iogear. I have the Iogear GFR201TF USB 2.0 Pocket Memory Card Reader/Writer which is specifically for mobile phones. It didn't work for me right away, I had to plug it in a few times before it recognized, but it works fine now.
With the card reader, it would show up on your desktop and you could copy music to it (and pictures as well).

  • Is there a security surveillance system that works with a MacBook Pro or iPod touch?

Is there a security surveillance system that works with a MacBook Pro or iPod Touch?

Problem is most vehicles can't supply enough power to charge a MacBook Pro battery, not without placing a generator in the engine compartment someplace like police cars and campers have.
Apple provides the MagSafe Airline Adapter but it's designed for 15V, not the 12V of vehicles, then it's only to keep the battery from discharging on airplanes, it won't charge it.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB441Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDEwMQ&mco=MTA4NDE2Mjc
"It's designed for 15V DC that you find on airplanes. If you are the DIY type, you can make your own 15V DC automotive socket by using an automotive universal laptop supply to step up the car's 12V to 15V"
    I found this online:
    http://www.365laptop.us/product_info.php?language=en&currency=USD&products_id=10 64
    Notice the device says:
    "Input: 11-14V DC 8Amp MAX "   - Cars are 12V DC.
Output: -DC 15V.... the same as the Airline Adapter
Looks like one needs to cut and splice the two parts/wires one needs together.
This 12V to 15V conversion is a lot better/streamlined than trying to upconvert 12V DC to a whopping 120 AC and then your Mac's power brick is downconverting 120AC to what it needs in DC to try to charge the battery which the vehicle can't supply the wattage for anyway.
Apple has a patent on the MagSafe adapter, they don't provide a 12V to 15V converter + MagSafe adaptor for the car. It would be nice if they did though.

  • No problem with this with my MacBook Pro or ipod Touch. My iphone keeps displaying incorrect password. All software is up to date.

I am unable to sign-in to my iphone4 to make purchases or update apps. There is no problem with my MacBook Pro or ipod Touch when logging in to iTunes or Apple.com. My iphone keeps displaying incorrect password. All software is up to date. This very strange. Any suggestions how to resolve this problem as it is quite frustrating.

    Sig,
Thanks for the advice. I finally tried a solution after doing nothing. LoL. What I did do was change the channel the router was on from 9 to 7. I think I've done something like this in the past when I had slow internet and that worked out well too. I thought that would help and so far so good. Not an interruption so far but we shall see. To the guy or girl who expressed that they had the same problem as me I would try changing the channel of your router like I did. I will monitor the situation and see if it totally solved my problem or not and keep this thread updated. Thanks people

  • Moving music from pc (crashed) based ipod to new imac

I haven't found this exact situation on the forums, so I hope someone can help.
I have a windows-based ipod mini. My windows machine crashed and the only place I have all of my music is on my ipod.
I am ordering a new imac next week and can't wait to move over! Now, how do I get my music from my pc based ipod onto my new imac. From what I've read, the first thing I will have to do is reformat my ipod to the mac which will erase all of my music.
Is there a way to authorize my new machine, connect my windows-based ipod, transfer music over, and then reformat it to a mac ipod?
If not, is there another way? Perhaps hook my ipod to my husbands Dell laptop. Back all my music up to Cd's and then hook up to new mac and let it reformat (erase) my music off my ipod. Then reload music via the backup cd's? Would this work? Thanks for any help. I do not want to mess this up as I have a pretty big library on my ipod.

please understand that Mac computer can read iPod formatted on a PC i.e. FAT32 but not the other way round, for how to do the transfer from iPod to Mac, please read the following

  • How to transfer music files from Macbook Air to iPod touch?

i have a new Macbook Air and an Ipod Touch. i have loaded music files onto the Ipod successfully, and separately made purchases from Itunes on my Macbook. i want to integrate the music libraries on both devices - how can this be done?

"i have loaded music files onto the Ipod successfully,"
    From where?
The ipod is not a sotrage/backup device.  The sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The exception is itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You can simply sync your ipod to the the Macbook to get the music form the macbook to the ipod

  • Importing Library from iMac to MacBook Pro via iPod Touch

Can this be done, easily? If not, what is the easiest way for me to transfer my entire library from an iMac that I shared with my wife to my new MacBook Pro. Not sure if it matters but my old Library was named R. S. Clark and my new one is Randy Clark. Also, I have one movie download on my new computer but nothing else.
Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated as I navigated through Apple's support page most of the day today unsuccessfully.
    Thanks in advance!

Don't need to use the iPod touch.

  • Macbook Pro and iPod Touch 1g

    Hello there Apple,
I am quite satisfied with how the Macbook Pro works and it's compatibility with other Apple products, but recently I have been having some problems regarding my iPod touch. Now I know that this seems to be a problem, that should be posted in the dedicated iPod touch forum, but in my opinion this problem seems to lie with the Macbook Pro, I will explain this later on.
It all started when my iPod touch did not show up in my iTunes source list. I have had no recent problems of this sort and I can assure you that my iPod has not suffered any recent hardware damage. Now I started looking for solutions in the internet and stumbled on the fact, that this seems to be a normal problem. I went through all the steps showed on the Apple site: I updated my latest firmware, newest version of iTunes, I changed the cable and USB ports, but nothing seemed to work. So as a last resort, I decided to put my iPod into restore mode. At this point I would like to add, that my iPod was working fine, my music was playing and all my apps still worked, it just did not show up in iTunes. So now my iPod was in restore mode (which of course you can't exit). I plugged it in and it showed up in iTunes, (this is when I started to celebrate), HOWEVER an error occurred, which said that my iPod could not be restored (Error 1611). I of course looked this up in the internet again and found that many other people had this problem as well and yet there seemed to be no solution to this problem, besides sending it to Apple, paying the mail fee, only to have it sent back and still having the same problem.
Naturally I thought I'll just plug it into my PC and see what happens. As it turns out, I was able to restore my iPod on the PC and even put music on it. Now I took the iPod, plugged it back into my Macbook and what happens? It does not show up in iTunes. It seems to me that there is a better compatibility of my iPod touch with a PC, than with a MacIntosh.
Is there any solution to my problem?
Also, I would like to add that I find it very inconvenient, that there is no large cross-platform harddrive as this causes me a lot of problems.
Another thing that keeps happening with my Macbook is that it keeps disconnecting from my Home network, yet all other devices have no problem with this.
Apple, can you please help me with my problems?

I took the MacBook Pro into my Apple Store, and the Genius at the Genius Bar was totally at a loss to figure out why this was happening. I believe he tried booting off of a hard drive into Tiger, using an external drive with a Y-cable, using a powered hard drive (which was recognized), formatting my hard drive with another computer and attempting to mount it again on my computer, nothing worked!
So, he asked me to boot into Windows, and I showed him the exclamation mark in the Device Manager. I got an answer to my question that I posed above: Mac does not alter the hardware to the point that another Operating System is affected. So, with this one fact, he had the computer listed for repair, and now I am without the computer for about a week while they order the part, start the repair, then call me to pick it up.
So, the morale of the story is: do not use cheap hubs (that are not UL-listed), and BUY APPLECARE! The cost of a new logic board is about $1099.95, so AppleCare has paid for itself!
Basically, if you are having my problem, just get over yourself, and go to the Genius Bar. I kept telling myself, "if I keep researching it on Google, hopefully there will be an easy fix..." But there is not, just go and save yourself the agony. I'll check back when I get the Mac fixed.

  • HT4623 How do I copy photo and music from MacBook Pro to Mini Ipad?

I have a MacBook Pro that has my collection of Photos and Music. I recently bought a Mini Ipad and wanted to copy/transfer some of my Photos and Music from the MacBook to the Mini Ipad. Have tried but cannot perform drag and drop since the Ipad is not showing up in the Finder app.
Looked into the Lightning to 300 cable (for my Iphone touch or Ipod) but the adapter has a female connector for the 300 and don't know how I can attach my Iphone or Ipod to transfer data with the other end of the cable is USB or AC .
    Thanks

The iPad won't appear in Finder, you should be able to sync content by connecting it to your computer's iTunes -do you have iTunes installed on your Mac, and your music library in it ? You can add music to iTunes via File > Add To Library
With iTunes 11 on your Mac you can enable the left-hand sidebar via option-command-S. Then select the iPad on that left-hand sidebar and use the Music tab on the right-hand side of iTunes to select and sync your music to the iPad's Music app.
    Syncing music : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1351
Similary to sync photos use the Photos tab on the right-hand side of iTunes. There is some info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.
You can't transfer music from an iPod or iPhone to an iPad

  • Internet problems on my macbook pro and ipod touch with camera.

    Hi,
For the last week or so I have been experiencing internet problems with my macbook and iPod touch with camera. I'll be online and clicking different news articles and suddenly the address bar will start to open a link but will not complete it. So what I do is go up to the signal bar and click turn off airport then turn it back on and that will temporarily solve the problem. Same solution on my iPod, I turn off the wifi and turn it back on. It is very frustrating for both devices. I will include as much info as possible. I have a NetGear RangeMax wireless router model WPN824v3. I was wondering if changing the wireless settings on that would solve my problem. I have the channel on 9. Mode on b and g. Security option on WPA-PSK [TKIP] with password. I would be happy for any help with this issue. Also I hope I'm following correct posting protocol. I haven't been on this forum in a while.

  • Wireless adaptor to amp to play music from Macbook Pro?

    Hey
I hope I am not repeating lots of posts on this topic.
I am looking to stream music from my Macbook Pro to my amp in the living room. I am aware that airport express does this but is there a cheaper option? Maybe something that justs plugs into the amp and does not act as a router etc..
If such a device exists then i could attatch them to the other amps in my house, woo hoo wireless music! Thats my dream anyhow (looks like I will have to buy several expresses at the mo).
    Cheers
    Mark

    Mark,
there are other wireless audio bridges out there, the Roku M1000 comes to mind, another is the SqueezeBox. I think Phillips may make one too, but I'm not sure on Mac compatability for that one.
The catch is... it depends if you wish to stream tracks purchased from the iTMS as none of these products can play the protected files - the usual DRM workaround applies. (I am not condoning the practice) Obviously, the Airport Express can stream these files.
You mention cost, I don't know the price of the other units, but I think you may find the added functionality of the express - USB print server and self-contained portable wireless base station make it a fair price. The limitations being,
    1) You may well never instigate any of the other functionality.
    2) No pretty display next to your stereo to enable you to browse/select/control audio playback locally. (There is the Keyspan Express Remote)
Bottom line. Hassle Apple to licence out FairPlay
