Moving music to my media card in my BB pearl

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME! I just bought the new 8130 pearl... i can't get music on it! (I've bought 2 songs through iTunes) I tried using BB Media Sync and it won't work... I've tried draging and droping and it's not working...
When I look at my BB card through windows it shows the songs. When I unplug my BB from the computer and try to find them on my phone it shows no songs!
What am I doing wrong?

First, there could be one main problem: BlackBerrys will not play purchased or bought iTunes with the iTune DRM Digitial Rights on the file.
There is a common method to remove DRM WMA, M4P with 2 steps:
1.  Burn the DRM WMA, M4P to a CD.
2. Rip the DRM WMA, M4P from CD to your computer as MP3 format , then the DRM should be removed from the WMA files.

  • Moving music from Windows Media Player to iTunes

    Hi
Apologies if this is repeating what others have asked many times in the past - I know what these forums can get like sometimes! I have had a look around though and couldn't find a definitive answer, so...
I have to date put all my music in Windows Media player on my PC. I am now going to buy an ipod so, obviously, I need my music in iTunes.
Is it simply a case of copying the folders from 'My Music' into the iTunes version of 'My Music'? If so, where is the iTunes version of 'My Music'..?!
    Thanks
    Percy

FIrst before I say anything else, As of now its only...6:30am here on the east coast USA (Which means its 3AM in California) so the event has not taken place yet. Apple is very secritive about what there doing, and anything you hear is rumor til apple comes out, says what there doing/announcing and makes it fact.
Now that said, there has been RUMORS (So far) apple MIGHT release some type of new nano and/or video ipod along with an announcement they have made deals with hollywood to start selling movies on there US store.
I just wanted to give you a heads up just incase you was buying today and the rumors turned out to be true. I would of utterly hated for you me or anyone to buy an ipod today, and then later in the afternoon, or tommorrow apple release a new ipod. If that happend to me... I would be Cursing up a storm (Southern slang meaning I would be REALLY UPSET LOL)
Theres alot of news about the event along with rumors that have be heard, just not confirmed by apple yet. One of them is here

  • Moving applications to the Media Card

I have a Blackberry 9300 3g curve. Whenever I download any application it ets stored in the phone memory, I have all my media files and the photos stored in the Media card.  How can I move the applications such as games, themes etc. to the media card storage.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
You cannot do as you desire. To function, all applications must be installed to the protected AppMemory space. There is no alternative.

  • ITunes Fix for Manually Moving Music and other Media

    Intro
Any iTunes 7.x user who manages their own music library outside of the "iTunes Music" folder might be able to tell you that iTunes DOES NOT respond well after manually moving tracks from one place to another on their computer systems. In fact, any file you move becomes immediately unplayable in iTunes. And, if you're anything like I am, losing several years worth of song rating metadata and playlists is not a good incentive for change. However, one thing others might not be able to tell you is that there's an easy workaround for the problem and you get to keep your playlists, ratings and other info. Read on to learn about the workaround.
    About the Workaround
The workaround is a simple hack I devised after recently transferring a good portion of my music library between hard disks and running into problems with iTunes. The fix steps provided below are intended to circumvent the problems with iTunes and give users the freedom to move songs and other media files on their computers while maintaining the integrity of both the ratings and the playlists. Meaning you won't need to manually update the song locations in iTunes one-at-a-time, which, at version 7.02 is the only way to accomplish this task using the program.
Please be aware that not all information is retained using this workaround. What will be lost are the following: the "Recently Added", "Recently Played" and "Top 25 Most Played" iTunes Smart Playlists; any media file play counts; last played information; and possibly some other data used only internally by iTunes.
So, if you're comfortable parting with some metadata while keeping your cherished song ratings and playlists intact during file relocation, read on to learn how to use the workaround.
    Workaround Steps
The following instructions walk step-by-step through the process of this workaround.
Note: All backslashes used in file paths have been converted to forward slashes so that they will adhere with MySpace XSS security validation checks. These altered paths can still be copy/paste into Windows Vista's Explorer program once the Username is changed to the User Account where the iTunes files reside.
    Preparing for the Move
Before you move your files, do the following:
    1. Close iTunes.
    2. Create a backup copy of the following files:
iTunes Library XML (iTunes Music Library.xml)
Note: Vista users can find the Library XML at C:/Users/Username/Music/iTunes
    iTunes Music Database (iTunes Library.itl)
Note: Vista users can find the Music Database at C:/Users/Username/Music/iTunes
    Moving Your Files
This part should be self explanatory, but while you do it make sure to note the following two things:
    1. The path where the files were previously stored (e.g. D:/Music).
    2. The path where the files will end up (e.g. E:/Music).
    Execute the Fix
After your files are moved, complete the following steps to implement the fix.
Note: Do not open iTunes during this process.
    Hack the iTunes Library XML
Once the files are moved the Library XML file locations will be out of sync. Follow the steps below to update them so that they now reference the correct file locations.
    1. Open the iTunes Library XML with a Text Editor with a Find/Replace function.
Note: Vista users can find the Library XML at C:/Users/Username/Music/iTunes
Tip: Do not try to do this with Dreamweaver if your Library XML is greater than 10MB.
    2. Perform a Find/Replace using the following inputs:
Find: Path from Step 1 of Moving Your Files
Replace: Path from Step 2 of Moving Your Files
    3. Confirm your results, and then save and close the Library XML.
    Delete the iTunes Music Database
Hacking the iTunes Library isn't enough to fool iTunes. Like the Library XML, the Music Database also holds the file locations of all of the media stored within the program. And it's smart enough to wipe out the Library XML hack if iTunes is opened before completing this step.
Ensure you have backed up the iTunes Music Database (iTunes Library.itl) and delete the file.
Note: Vista users can find the Music Database at C:/Users/Username/Music/iTunes
    Back in iTunes
Once the fix is in place you can now open iTunes again. You will notice that all of your playlists, music and other items have vanished. In order to recover them all (with the exception of the Smart Playlists mentioned in the About the Workaround section above) we'll need to import the hacked Library XML file back into iTunes.
    1. Open iTunes and press CtrlShiftO or go to File > Import…
    2. Navigate to and Open your modified Library XML (as pictured below).
    3. iTunes will then begin importing the contents of the XML file (as pictured below).
Note: This process may take a while, depending on the size if your library.
    Wrapping Up
Once the import process is complete iTunes will look almost exactly the way you left it, with the exception that some playlists have been duplicated and the number of songs may be a hair off. To fix this problem delete any duplicate playlists in the "Library" panel in iTunes. You can now test out the changes by selecting an item moved earlier and testing it out. All that's left from there is to let iTunes perform any automated analysis it needs to do and rock on.
      Other OS

    Holy Smokes:
I appreciate your detailed workaround post. My question is this: I use iTunes to keep everything organized (though I'm well aware of the shortcomings...) and can use the simple solution that Chris from CA posted, but I don't have room to consolidate everything. My read on consolidating is that you copy from wherever you have your music located (and right now my music is outside of the MyMusic/iTunes folder, as that backs up to my work server) and so you have to have enough room for all of your music to be copied (and then you delete it from its prior location). That's how Apple describes it in, e.g., http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301748. I ain't go that kind of room. Is there any way to make the move to a completely different PC by following the simple option? From the posting I just linked it sounds like you MUST consolidate whether you use you iPod to move things or use an external drive.
Of course, I can use your workaround, but I thought I'd ask first. Many thanks.

  • Moving music from windows media player

i swear ive done this before, but i cannot remember how i did it. how do i move .wma files from windows media player into itunes library? i cannot drag them over, i just get the circle w/ a slash. ive tried sync-ing them directly onto my nano from media player program & it lists them in the pop up window on my computer, but they are lsited no where in song titles on my actual nano for me to access. ive tried converying the format & it wont allow me. i know it can be done, i just cant figure out how. thank you.

First, find out where Media Player has stored the music files on your computer. It typically is in Documents and Settings\(Your Name)\My documents\My Music and then there should be a folder that has a name that resembles Media Player. If you pull up Tools>Options and click the "Rip Music" tab it will show you where you have your music stored. So then pull up this folder that it tells you to, then pull up the iTunes window as well, and then simply drag and drop the folders into your iTunes music library. iTunes will convert the songs automatically for you, sometimes this may take a while. For example, I have 3300 songs on my Hard Drive and it took the entire day for iTunes to convert all of the ones it needed to. So just be patient and you should be good to go.

  • Transfering music to media card

Is there any possible way to transfer my music to the media card? I downloaded music to my BB before I got the media card. It would be nice because I don't want to have to go back and download them again. thanks

The easiest way to do it would be to use DM and copy all your music to a folder on your computer and then transfer it back to your media card, that way you have all your music in one place and can add to it at any time.
I have over 700gb of music on my home computer and swap music out all the time this way.
The other way you can do it is to use your computer and the adapter for the media card and copy directly from your computer.

  • Can't put any music on external memory card.

Hello. I've just got this phone and please help me fix this problem.
I can't put any music on my ext sd card. I tried to do this via copy / paste and via media go. Tried rebooting, formatting still not working. Also build in tool for moving music etc to sd card fails.
When I try to transfer music on to sd card by media go the end result is no music recognized by Walkman app and two folders are created. "Music" ( with nothing inside) and "albums" with files named by the names of the albums I've transfered.
I tried deleting .nomedia but after reboot it's there again ( on the sd) in some strangely named folder.
Also after copying the music to the ext sd LOST.DIR folder is filled with some files ( looks like this is my music)
I think that's all information I can give you now. Please ask questions if needed.
Thanks for any kind of help!

Have you tried this with an alternative SD card, as this may simply be that the SD card is not working correctly.

  • USB and Media Card Reader disabled after installing DM

I installed the DM 4.3 from the CD tonight. Hooked up the BB and everything worked fine. Loaded some music onto the media card and downloaded some pictures. Then I unhooked to see if the music was on the Blackberry, when I hooed it back up, it wouldn't recognize. I tried a few times, then uninstalled the software, re-installed, still nothing, then un-installed and downloaded 4.7 and installed, still nothing, now my computer doesn't recognize ANY USB ports (web-cam, Media Center Remote) and none of the Media Card reader drives are visible in My Computer. When I insert the SD card from my camera, nothing. I uninstalled 4.7 and still nothing. Now I'm worried..
Please tell me that I don't have to wipe the whole computer and start again.. Please!!

I have moved my iPhoto to an external hard drive. so now I have to have the external hard drive connected to my laptop to view the photos.  Now when I want to import photos into iPhoto from my media card, I don't have room to connect both devices at the same time as the usb ports are side by side.  How do I import my photos from the media card to the external hard drive now?

First transfer the photos to a folder on your MacBook using Image Capture in your Utilities folder. Then move them to iPhoto.
BTW, you might want to invest in a cheap USB hub.

  • Moving music from mp3 player to media player

I have a Zen-X Fi and have used another computer that has all of my music in Windows Media Player. I have sync'd my Zen with the WMP. I also have a laptop and would like to add the music off of my Zen, unto either the WMP or MediaMonkey. How in the world do I do this?

This is to get sounds on to your phone from your computer.
First of all you need to put the software from the provided CD on your computer, attach the phone by the cable, choose file manager, and then just copy MP3s from your computer to the memory card (or the phone itself but you can't put much on there), into the folder Sounds, Simple. Disconnect, go to the phone, open music player, options, music library, options update music library (and that choice of menu doesn't always seem to show so don't be surprised if you can't find it, go back and try again - eventually it will appear - just took me three goes as I was double checking).
I assume if you already have the sounds on the phone but in the wrong folder you just need to move them within file manager.
Hope that works for you.Message Edited by kangaroo400 on 25-Jul-2006

  • My media card erased all my pictures and music. Helllppp !!!!

Just two days ago, all of a sudden my BB showed there is some error with the media card and asked if I want to rectify the error. I clicked ‘Yes’ and it erased all my music and pictures. Can you help me retrieve this?
Also, from then on, my phone automatically switches off when I keep it for charging.
    Kindly help

Same thing happened to me. Videos and pictures deleted not by choice. Pulled out the battery along with the SIM and reinstalled. Noticed the media card was not pushed in all the way. After reboot, all media re-appeared.

  • Moving music files from windows media player to itunes

when I first got my ipod, only half of my music files moved from windows media player into itunes. Is there anyway I can import the rest of the music from windows media player into Itunes? I have tried using the import function and add file or folder to library and they do not seem to work!

iTunes will not accept Window Media player tracks that are protected. If you imported them off your own CDs, did you check the option to apply protection to them? If so, your only choice is to re-rip those CDs.
