Moving my music from an Ipod to an Iphone

I originally had an iPod and I have all my music in there (it was not purchased from itunes but synced from different cd's) Later I bought the iphone 4S and I have not been able to move my music to the iphone. When I sync it it only syncs the apps not the music. The Ipod and the Iphone are registered under the same itunes account Im not sure if i needed to create a new itunes account when i bought the iphone but it is driving me crazy. I wanna get rid of the ipod but i cant since all my music is in there. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Music is synced to iphone from itunes.
Plug in iphone and select whatever you like to sync from itunes to iphone.

how do i move music from my ipod to my iphone

No Apple supported way, they do not allow music out of the iPod for copyright reasons, but there are several programs you can run on your PC to copy the iPod contents to the PC.  Check on the iLounge site for a lot of helpful information and links to the software you will need.

Either click here and follow the instructions, or follow those in the article you asked this question from and then sync the iPhone with that iTunes library.

  • Moving "purchased" music from my iPod to my MacBook

I started with iTunes on my PC, subsequently I purchased a Mac Book and I'd like to consolidate everyting onto it. There has to be a way to transfer all of the songs I've purchased from my iPod to the Mac Book. Or is there? Darned if I can figure it out. Someone out there must know how to do this. Thanks.

The transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer

  • How can i download music from my ipod to my iphone 4S

had an ipod, bought an iphone 4S. My computer died so I plugged the phone into a new laptop. I downloaded new music and can't get it to the iphone. Help please

If the music is in your iTunes library on your new laptop connect your phone and do the following:
Click on the name of your phone on the left side of iTunes
On the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings check "Sync only checked songs and videos"
Click on Music on the top left (under Library) then to the right check all the songs you want to sync to your phone
Make sure there are no exclamation points next to any of the songs you want to sync to your phone
If you are trying to transfer music purchased from the iTunes store authorize your computer for all Apple IDs used to purchase this music by going to Store>Authorize This Computer (do this for each ID)
Click the name of your phone again on the left side of iTunes, then to the right go to the Music tab and check "Sync Music"
Click Apply at the bottom to sync your phone

  • Transfer Music from old ipod til new iphone

    Hi’
I bought a iPhone 4, but how do I get my music from my old ipod to the new iphone.
BTW. The old ipod is on one computer and my new iphone 4 is on another computer.
    Anyone that can help?

Here is one way which will also transfer playcount, playlists, etc. Do it this way and your iTunes library will be identical on both computers.

  • How do i get my music from my iPod to my iphone

I need help getting my music from my older ipod onto my new iphone. i have a mac which i thought would make it easier but i don't understand. when i go to sync it it says that its going to erase and replace the music in my library but i dont have music on my laptop yet.

iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
Sync transfer is one way, computer to device, matching the device content to the content on the computer (except purchased content as mentioned above).  For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

Do not regard your i-device as a reliable unique storage for your media. It is not a backup device and everything is structured around you maintaining your media on a computer which is itself backed up.

  • Transferring music from my ipod to my iphone

So, my ipod was purchased by my husband and handed down to me when he got a ipod touch. He left the music on there cause we like the same music. I also purchased more music and synced it to my itunes library. Then he bought the 16GB iphone a few months ago, and recently upgraded to a 3G iphone, and gave me his old iphone and reset it. I've been trying to manually "add to library" all of his and my purchases from the ipod to itunes to then add it to the iphone. It will only let me add about 50% of the songs/albums, possibly because some where purchased under his name and not mine. Does this sound right? Is there some rule about a husband and wife sharing music???

Is the itunes library you are syncing to Authorized to play the music?
"Authorization helps protect the copyrights on the content you buy. You can use your digital rights management (DRM)-protected music purchases1 from the iTunes Store on up to five different computers (these can be any mix of Macintosh or Windows-compatible computers). When you play an item you've purchased, your computer is "authorized" to play content purchased using your Apple Account."
"To authorize a computer to play purchases using your Apple Account
Select a song, video, or audiobook you've purchased (in your library or the Purchased playlist).
    Click the Play button.
If the computer is already authorized, the item plays. If the computer has not yet been authorized, iTunes asks you to enter the Apple ID and password you used to purchase the song."

  • How do I transfer music from my ipod to my iphone on a PC?

I'm trying to move the catalog in my old ipod in to the iphone 5 and can't figure out how to do it. I have a PC. Can someone help?

Music is not registered to any ipod.
You can sync the music to any of your idevices that you like.
Everyhting on your iphone should be on your computer.  is it not?
